GREENSBORO, Ga. — We’ll have a full story later, but here are the quick highlights from this morning’s UGA Athletic Association board of directors meeting at the Ritz-Carlton Lodge at Reynolds Plantation:
- UGA President Michael Adams and athletic director Greg McGarity said the contract extensions still are not completed with head football coach Mark Richt and defensive coordinator Todd Grantham. McGarity did say for the first time that Richt’s new contract will keep his salary “basically the same” — about $2.8 million per year — as his current deal but that the incentive bonuses, for things such as winning SEC and national championships, will be doubled as a way of “rewarding excellence.” As previously disclosed, three years will be added to Richt’s contract, extending it through 2016, and two years to Grantham’s, extending it through 2014.
