See you in Orlando.

Alec Ogletree was suspended the first four games (and we won’t say for what — smoke, smoke) and he is named a permanate captain?
That’s showing the way!!!

Jones — Best Linebacker in UGA history! Leader on and off the field. Won’t last past the fifth pick in the NFL Draft! Great young man.
Tommy DeM — you should make another Julio Jones type trade to get Jarvis Jones for the Falcons D.

Todd Gurley , Keith Marshall and Jordan Jemkins were some of the best freshmen in college football for 2012. Look forward to a great 2013 with the experience they had in 2012. Keep working hard. All of the Bulldog Nation very proud of your efforts this year!
Go Dawgs!

They forgot to give T. King the Academy Award for faking an injury in the closing seconds of the SEC championship game in order to keep the clock stopped a few seconds longer.

Well, on the other hand, he didn’t fool anyone.

Congratulations to our players for the fine accomplishments.

I’d heard that Mr. Murray is a bull. His S&C award is one more reason why I hope he decides to stick around for one more year at UGA. Seeing someone as accomplished and awarded as our quarterback in the weight room all the time has got to be an inspiration for the whole team.

Go, Bulldawgs!

Ogletree was not named permanent team captain, he was named co-defensive MVP(some may want to re-read the article). And rightly so. Truth be told, replacing him makes me more anxious than any other position.

Jarvis Jones is very good but the best in UGA history – there have been a lot of good ones. Several NFL All Pro. Time will tell.

I’m so proud of all these guys and feel the hurt right along with them on the championship game. But we shall not let that game consume us! It gives us reason to hunker down even more and show everyone including ourselves just what DGD’s we really are! That game should have been ours. We simply came up a little bit short and we know the reason why! As it turned out, one of our greatest strengths (our defense) simply couldn’t get off the field when it needed to. In summary, they were simply worn out. It charges Grantham to look closely at the recruiting and handling of the defense and get it stacked for the coming year. The offense surely scored enough points to win this game.

We love these DAWGS!! Let’s get ready for next year and make a statement in Orlando!! GO DAWGS!!

Great job this year dawgs. I live in Texas and after SEC championship game I had total strangers come up to me and say one of best games they watched all year. How about rats jumping back on board award for all the naysayers that we have not heard from since we played SC. One of the worst things in sports is the bandwagon fans that jump on when we are doing good and off when we are not. Great job CMR and all the dawgs that left it on the field from a grateful Bulldawg nation. For all you rats scurry to some other team as we don’t want you. Go dawgs

Whatayabet that the reason Jarvis Jones, a truly class guy with a great ‘back story’, as they say, would have won more of those awards that went to the kid from Notre Dame, if he had short hair. Some people just can’t past their prejudices based on appearances…of course the ND thing didn’t hurt either. Guess Jarvis will just have to make up for it at ‘the next level’.

If Manti Teo plays at Vanderbilt or Ole Miss there and puts up the same numbers as he did this season there is no chance he beats out Jarvis Jones for any award and he is no where near the heisman trophy. What a joke that they had him as a finalist. ESPN just freaking loves Notre Dame and for what? What has Manti Teo done before this season?

most of these defense guys won’t stay, they will go for the bucks, and, frankly, i would too except the nfl is not recruiting 69year olds this year. lol. i started following and loving the dawgs in 1959, and suffered as a student from 1961 through 1963. then came dooley. wow. and on and on. but make no mistake, folks, uga is reloading. we may lose more games next year, but it WILL be exciting. after all, can’t do much better than an 11-1 regular season. maybe we’ll be like florida; finish 11-1, not play for the championship, and wind up in a bcs bowl. we were absolutely penalized for those five yards — big time. now, let us finish our business against nebraska; no feeling sorry for ourselves, nothing but PRIDE.

I’m letting you in on something. UNC Charlotte will make its way onto the college football scene in 2013 with great interest. It will not be long before they will be playing at the Div-1 level (several yrs). Prior to that the SEC and the BIG12 will line up to attract this university to join its conference and therein gain entre into the coveted NC TV market. It is generally accepted that UNC and NCSU will never leave the ACC. The fact that this university is located in Charlotte, the site of the greatest number of eyeballs in NC, will make it a grand prize for the winner. People all over the state, despite being fans of UNC, NCSU, Duke and Wake, will readily watch Charlotte do battle with UGa, SCar, Tenn, and the like. A hotbed of football will develop in the area between Athens and Raleigh, to include Columbia and Greenville. Unfortunately for many Clemson fans who would like to see Clemson in either the SEC or the BIG12, Clemson will remain in the ACC as Charlotte grabs the brass ring. ECU, after all of its years of playing 2d fiddle to the Big Four, will also watch Charlotte’s entre into a BCS conference with great envy. Pooh pooh this if you want, but I think this scenario will play out.

How the heck was Ogletree co-MVP with Jarvis Jones? Jones practically won the Mizzou game on his own while Ogletree was watching it on TV.

Glad to see Samuel get an award – the guy truly deserves it.

THere wasn’t a better defensive player in th country than Jarvis Jones. As a matter of fact Alec Ogletree and the kid Clowney from South Carlolina were far better than the Notre Dame player. Jones got the shaft and everyone knows it.
These awards are suppose to be based on performance by the competition you play against. What kind ofcompetition did Notre Dame play against…nobody. Notre Dame is going to get a rude awakening in Miami to the tune of 41-13.

flo-ri-duh lives up to his name. Duhhhhhh !!!! What a player does at UGA or any other school has NOTHING, repeat NOTHING to do with what they do in the NFL. What a complete and total dumb-ass comment. Compare him to what other UGA linebackers did in COLLEGE you moron. No wonder you have Florida in your moniker. What an idiot you are.

You obviously have me confused with the blogger named Lev who stated that Charlotte will be in the SEC. Roy Williams will be coaching at Duke before Charlotte is in an AQ conference.
As far as my perspective from NH is concerned, as a previously long term resident of NC (Charlotte and then Raleigh) with a son currently at ECU ( Go Pirates, Aaargh), and having been to games in all 6 major stadia in NC, I have a pretty good grasp on CFB in NC.

Nice slap down of flo-ri-duh concerning him implying that Jarvis Jones has to prove it in the NFL to be the best LB in UGA history.
By flo-ri-duh’s criteria, Tim Tebow wasn’t the best QB in UF history.

When McCaaron’s backup is mercifully kneeling the ball with 8 minuets left in the 4th quarter the Notre Dame fraud will be revealed to be what it is, the confluence of big t.v. money, an unrivaled national fan base, and ESPN pandering to both. Jarvis is inarguable the most talented linebacker in college (arguably the best defensive player period), and the national championship was played for on December 1st. Go Dawgs! Go SEC!

Norman had a fantastic start this year filling in for our suspended players. He has always done a good job on special teams. He is the kind of player required for any team to be successful. He puts his heart into every play and plays smart.
