Bama delivers BCS knockout of Georgia, 32-28, in SEC Championship

With a BCS championship bid on the line, a heavyweight boxing match broke out at the Georgia Dome on Saturday, and it was defending national champion Alabama that delivered the knock-out blow in a 32-28 slugfest.

But give the Georgia Bulldogs credit. They got up off the mat and nearly won it.

With no timeouts and 85 yards to go with 1:08 to play, Georgia’s Aaron Murray got his team down to the Alabama 8. But rather than spike the ball with about nine seconds left, the Bulldogs elected to run another play. Murray’s pass was tipped at the line of scrimmage and caught by flanker Chris Conley at the 5. He fell to the ground inbounds, and the last four seconds ticked off the clock.

“I told the players I was disappointed, but not disappointed in them,” a forlorn Georgia coach Mark Richt said. “It was a knock-down, drag-out fight, and everybody was swinging. We just ran out of time.”

For the No. 2-ranked Crimson Tide (12-1), the victory means a third trip to the BCS championship game in the past four years. They won the previous two. Alabama will face undefeated and No. 1-ranked Notre Dame (12-0) on Jan. 7.

But Alabama coach Nick Saban indicated he and his players will enjoy the school’s 23rd SEC title for a while before worrying about that one.

“My focus right now is to give the players the positive gratification they deserve,” Alabama coach Nick Saban. “I don’t even know what the date of the (BCS) game is. We probably won’t practice for a couple of weeks.”

The Bulldogs (11-2), who haven’t won a national championship since 1980 and haven’t played for one in 30 years, will play Nebraska in the Capital One Bowl in Orlando.

Richt’s decision not to spike the ball at the 8 and instead run a hurry-up play will be debated for a while. A 26-yard catch by Arthur Lynch with 15 seconds remaining got the Bulldogs to the 8. There were about nine seconds remaining by the time Georgia lined up.

Murray rushed the offense into formation and tried to hit Malcolm Mitchell with a pass in the back right of the end zone. But the ball was tipped at the line of scrimmage, and Conley caught the ball inbounds at the 5-yard line.

“I know in hindsight now the ball wasn’t meant to go my way,” Conley said. “It was tipped at the line and, unfortunately I wasn’t able to make a smart play. Instinctively I grabbed the ball when I probably should let it go.”

Richt vehemently defended the decision.

“You don’t need to spike the ball there,” he said. “We had the play we wanted. It takes time to spike the ball, and we’re thinking about more than one play there.”

But that wasn’t where Georgia lost the game. The Bulldogs were manhandled up front by the Crimson Tide, who managed to run for 350 of their 512 yards. Junior tailback Eddie Lacy earned most valuable player honors with 181 yards and two touchdowns and his freshman backup T.J. Yeldon added 153 and another score. The Crimson Tide had the ball for nearly 38 minutes to Georgia’s 22:25.

“We did a great job of running the ball in the second half,” Saban said. “And the reason we did it was we couldn’t handle the pass rush.”

“I like the way we played,” said Jarvis Jones, who had six tackles, three tackles for loss and two sacks. “I think we challenged them for 60 minutes. We came four seconds from playing for the BCS title. I’m just proud of all these guys that sacrificed for us to get here.”

Georgia freshman Todd Gurley had 122 yards and two touchdowns on 23 carries. Murray finished 18-of-33 passing for 265 yards with a touchdown and an interception and was sacked three times. Tavarres King led the Bulldogs with five catches for 142 yards.

“Oh, man, it was crazy the way that it was so close,” Murray said. “That’s something you dream of as a little kid, to win the game like that. It’s just crappy the way it ended, that’s for sure.”

Saturday’s game was essentially a BCS championship semifinal, and the two teams played accordingly. After exchanging the lead three times in the second half, Alabama quarterback A.J. McCarron hit Amari Cooper for a 45-yard touchdown pass down the left sideline for the game-winning score. Cooper, who had 127 yards on seven catches, got behind sophomore nickel back Damian Swann on the play, which came with 3:15 remaining.

On the ensuing possession, Murray was sacked on first down by linebacker Adrian Hubbard — a sophomore from Norcross — who stunted inside on a blitz for the 8-yard loss. Georgia ended up punting the ball to Alabama with 2:17 remaining, and it appeared the game might end like that.

But the Bulldogs used their final two timeouts and forced Alabama into a three-and-out. Mitchell’s fair catch at the 15 with 1:08 left gave Georgia one final shot.

We scored more points on Bama’s D than anybody except A&M – they scored 29 — and won – it was a close game and hard fought but in the end Bama’s O line and running backs combined to pull it off – Murray was up to the challenge with the passing game and exposed Bama’s secondary just like A&M did. Great game, excellent teams – our O will be great next year and the D will be reloading with great talent. Let’s congratulate our boys on a great effort and a near epic victory. One more game – let’s root for them to go out in style! GO DAWGS – win, lose or draw you made us proud tonight!

Great, great ballgame. Couldn’t ask for a better effort. As usual, came down to mistakes and great plays made by great players Swann gets beat and McCarron made the throw. Dawgs drive the length and Mosley makes a great play tipping the ball. Would’ve preferred a spike, but understand the desire to keep it going before Bama gets its defense set. Can’t fault Conley for catching the surprise. Just needed ten more seconds. Congrats to Bama. Represent in Miami. Couldn’t imagine Notre Dame being favored against either. To kerryb and other conspiracy theorists,

I hope you have enough to swallow all your pride and admit you’ve been wrong ALL week long. I hope you eat crispy crow all offseason. And quit blaming the refs and everything else you can grab on as you slip down that slope. What happens if Nick Saban calls a timeout and Alabama scores a touchdown before half instead of a field goal? See, I can play that too.

To the rest of you Georgia fans,

One of the best football games I have seen in a long while and easily Top 5 in my 28 years of life. I have never been afraid of a Georgia offense, but I have to admit that today I was very worried after Murray and Gurley staked their claim. I figured Murray would turn the ball over, but I also figured Gurley to hit 100 yards. I picked him pre-season to be Freshman of the Year, and I think he definitely is (Manziel disqualified since he’s a redshirt freshman, not true). I can’t give Georgia enough credit because y’all played a heck of a game and it was just an awesome game. That’s what you call SEC football and a game everyone from the South can be proud of. That is simply why we are the best in the country and have the National Championships and rankings to prove it. Awesome game, and I respect the few of you that keep it civil and real more than anything. Roll Tide.

As usual, the talent exceeded the coaching, especially play calling and time management. This is the third game I’ve seen Richt lose due to poor clock management. He kept Marshall mostly on the bench, just like he did with Danny Ware because he liked Thomas Brown. Ware has two Super Bowl rings and Brown has none. I guess no one on the coaching staff noticed Marshall’s long runs for TDs.

The truth is UGA will never win with Mark Richt as coach. Attitude from the top trickles down to the team and Mark Richt does not have the attitude of a CHAMPION winning coach, too passive. Way too much talent on these Ga. teams for year after year to be ending with excuse after excuse. IT’S THE COACHING, IT ALWAYS HAS BEEN. Talent has to be coached to win championships and the coach has to get to the point where LOOSING IS NOT AN OPTION, for Mark Richt loosing is an option and the fans year after year are more upset than him. Richt was trying to catch them off guard with not spiking it and if you watch Murry he always does that little hand motion after every long pass play he wasn’t calling for the spike.

Let me say I have felt at time the coaches have not had the team ready to play and the players have not played to their potential at times, but that was not this game this game they played their hearts out. Yes I would have liked our D not to give up the runs but Alabama is a great team and Georgia showed they are a great team. No holding calls, even though JJ was consistenly held and taken to the ground, no pass interference penalties, no block in the black penalties. No personal fouls, even though I saw numerous puncheds thrown after the whistle. It sure helps your running game and your offensive line performance when you don’t have to worry about. Was that a $100 Saban handed the official on the field after the roughing the passer call?

Great, another bogus BCS National Championship game between two bogus teams that don’t deserve to be there. Guess I’ll be boycotting this one. Haven’t had a legitimate national championship game since USC and Texas. How many years does Alabama have to keep backing into the bogus BCS final game before we have a playoff? What about the other 1 loss teams? What about Oregon? What about Kansas State? What about A&M which beat Alabama? It’s completely bogus that Alabama keeps getting the title game slot every year and all their fake titles are bogus and tainted. No one can say with any certainty that Alabama is better than Oregon or Kansas State. And Notre Dame barely squeaked by Purdue, BYU and Pitt. That is as bogus a team as they come. Wake me up when we have a playoff.

The “fire Richt” nonsense has already started. You will not find another coach much better and will only begin again with another system that will take time to firm up. Look at Tennessee and how messed up their coaching situation has been since they fired Phil Fulmer. Seeing a game like this one, and bad mouthing the coach because you ran up against possibly the best college team in the nation is sour grapes and will not move you forward. But keep it up and you may get what you wish for, a coach with a big resume and no improvement over the one you have.

No sane/cogent person with any knowledge of football can call the last 20 seconds of the game anything but a farce. With 15 seconds on the clock, instead of spiking the ball and having two if not three shots at the end zone, Murray WASTES 7 seconds getting a play a called and the moron receiver CT he’s the ball in traffic …game over.

Georgia lost the game via it’s grossly overrated defense and their failure to stop Bama’s running game but still they had a chance and just plain blew it.

Don’t have the defense to stop the run and lose. Almost got lucky and went to the next level. With the loses on the defense, it will be more difficult if their schedule is harder next season. 4TH Generation Dawg Grad

OMG! Are you people freaking crazy?!!!!
First to all of the Dawg Haters and Dawg Breakers– these young men playing in this game are KIDS. You come on here anonymously and trash them because you pull for another team or don’t like our coaches. GET OVER YOURSELVES. These kids, on both teams, played their hearts out and both sides played a great game. If you have kids of your own and are coming on here and attacking these players, especially by name, like Aaron Murray, you are heartless and classless. I don’t care if you aren’t a DAWG fan. How would you feel if a total stranger with out the guts to tell you who they are personally attacked your child in a media forum? I would venture to say that not only would it hurt your heart, it would royally piss you off. Think before you type something hateful about a kid who is playing with all they have for a school they love.
Secondly, seriously, you want a coach and staff who has now gone 11-2 including their conference game and was 8 seconds away from playing for a MNC fired? That is absurd. Do you know how many D-1 teams would want to be in our place? Most all of them. The Georgia coaches had a good game plan and just a couple of 3 and outs by our offense did not give our D time to make needed adjustments and rest. It the O gets just one more 1st down, the D doesn’t give up the points to Bama. They planned and the kids played a great and clean game and should be congratulated and praised, not trashed. It tells me that we are so very close to where we want to be because people only trash you and tear you down because they want to be you or have what you have. Keep it up DAWGS– you have so many fans that love and support you!

Bright Side

December 1st, 2012
9:34 pm

Although the coaches should have called for a spike with 15 seconds left (which certainly would have provided two–rather than zero–shots at the end zone), the reasons we lost this game were (1) Bama’s offensive line, and (2) our failure to wrap up when tackling (which is harder to do when the back doesn’t get hit until he’s gained six yards). The good news is what our o-line has a chance to be like Bama’s in a year or two. Remember we’re young (a true freshman at OT?!), and nothing is more important for an o-line than experience. As for our inability to tackle, I think part of it stems from trying to strip the ball, instead of trying to put someone into the ground. We’ve got a lot to work on, but we’ve come a long way since the South Carolina and Kentucky games. We’ll lose a lot of talent to the NFL, but some young unknowns will step up. Grantham will find some boys who want to lay the wood. Despite Jarvis and Tree being very athletic and good players, they are not what I’d call great hitters. I’m bummed and rambling, and everyone knows this stuff, but there you go.

I’ll say it again like I said it before, Mark Richt is comfortable with losing ballgames and all those talented players for Georgia will only experience the taste of victory when they make it to the NFL. Akeem Dent with the Falcons, Knowshon with Denver, and Dannell Ellerbe with the Ravens have a chance this year. It’s sad because they all had a chance with UGA, and the players will never say it but that’s why they leave and go to the NFL early. When you see Tebow and Harvin stay 2 extra years for Florida you know they knew they would win a title. Unfortunately for Georgia, top players leave because with Mark Richt, it’s not gonna happen. Knowshon, Stafford, A.J., WHO ELSE?

Face it Folks…

Georgia is the scruffy, working class kid who somehow was allowed into the Big Dance and has every intention of walking away with the Belle of the Ball. It’s just that no one ever takes that big ol’ kid seriously. There he is, red clay all over his well worn boots, a gap-toothed grin on his enthusiastic face, a “just glad to be here” whiff about his Woolworth’s suit. The hosts an
d society gossips barely acknowledge him. They’re just thrilled to pieces that the Big Names are here in all their finery, that Bama Man with his fine pedigree of 13 or more (he would fiercely argue more) “Ball King” sashes, that green clad Irishman sporting his own double digit victories, storied in cinema and song. They’re polite and will say the right condescending things to and about the Georgian, but they know he doesn’t really belong here.

But the big Georgian is used to that. He knows they’ve never really taken him seriously. He knows the society gossipers think he snuck in on luck and doesn’t really have what it takes. And that’s just fine with him, because while the powers that be are talking it up with the Big Names, and while the gossipy ones are batting their eyes and preening their feathers hoping for attention from those old school aristocrats, he is paying attention ONLY to the goal at hand, working and planning and focused so hard that it’s a coal fired Hell of burning desire that won’t be denied.

That’s our Dawgs, and that’s us, and that’s an identity that I personally love having. Bring it on, G_ddammit! Throw every Saban spawned move you have at us, Tide. Let’s do this thing, and history will tell who really gets to the Big Dance!

Bottom line…. This is the game *and team* I expected at South Carolina and failed to show up. I’m thankful and fortunate that the ‘dawgs were in position to win the game in the final seconds. I understand the play call and won’t second guess. A split second sooner or later, a mere inch right or the left and that’s a touchdown to win. Alabama should be *extremely* thankful and fortunate that luck won the game for them. When Nick Saban says he’s about to have a heart attack, you know who won the game…. Regardless of score.

It’s already been stated, but Bama doesn’t have better players, just better coaches. I hope Richt and staff appologized to those kids after the game because coaching cost them this game. Spike the ball and you have three more chances w/ 15 seconds, rather than one. It’s too high a risk/reward factor not to spike that ball. The coaches failed the players tonight. Now we have two a-hole coaches vying for the championship and the Dawgs playing in the Outback?? Unbelievable.

Murray played a fine game. Despite UGA being powerless to stop run, this loss is on offensive play calling. Next to last drive hated to see Gurley get within 1 yard of 1rst down because knew coaches would call for run up middle(knew wouldn’t work). Would have preferred 3rd and 4 so they would have passed. Then on last drive SPIKE ball and get organized.

Artie Lynch made some plays at the end. (Sure would like to see some TE throws on third and short, wouldn’t you?) That stuffing of Gurley on 3rd and 1 in the 4th quarter really hurt. I don’t know why Bobo thought that would work. That play and the last one will stick in my craw for a long, long time. We made some big plays in the game, but the good will always be outweighed by the bad in a game like this with a chance like we had.

To No Champs, I was including the Alabama players in my comments. Yes they are kids too and no one should be trashing them either. Go back and re-read, the implication was there! However, having said that, I did not read any of the Bama players being called out by name on this blog like the Georgia players. And yes, every collgiate player is a kid, and that is my point exactly. No one should be trashing any kid. They all do their best for their respective schools. You can make a meaningful and articulate point on what ever your positition is without trashing kids.

They did not quit; they did not lay down, and didn’t get blown out. A really good game, probably the closest SECCG I’ve seen in a while. That being said I’m happy to say I felt no deep sadness over the loss. I’m just thankful I can read and spell, have indoor plumbing, my girlfriend is not a close relative, and that I fertilize trees instead of poisoning them. I live in the great state of Georgia where the football is excellent but not the only thing to hang your hat on. @Indiana Dawg — Totally agree that we got completely beat at the line of scrimmage on booth lines. The OL was not good enough to keep drives going and there were too many three and outs that cost us the chance to get control of this game.

It is frustrating that this team gets set in accepting being pretty good and getting satisfied at that level. I have had enough of it — come on with this level of talent, a favorable schedule, veteran defense a junior QB who could have stepped it up this yr — this was the year of opportunity and once again it was not good enouh.

I do not think we see this opportunity again for some time. It was there for the taking and they let it get away.

No, I am not satisfied. Every yr we get a top 5 or top 10 recruit class, produce first round NFL draft choices and its always some one else who gets the cyrstal trophy.

Something is not achieving its full potential I cannot believe the people who want to blame the refs or are just being so complacent over this.

This makes no sense. teams that lose their conference championships shouldnt drop in the polls unless it is to decide the championship. The system is a joke and not right. The second best team in the sec gets the toilet bown and florida gets the bcs when they werent even good enough to be in the championship.
this is stupid

The D does not deserve a bad rap for this game. They played tough except when they were gassed because they were on the field for an hour straight in the 3rd and start of 4th. I’m all for scoring, but sometimes the O needs to keep the ball longer to let the D breath.

And, what the hell was with non-spiking and then the Conley catch? They have to know you can’t dive and catch outside the endzone with a few seconds remaining.

I am as frustrated at the apologetic fans than I am with the team.

And will we ever get the kind of QB that can win in the big games — Same problems we had with Stafford whom Buck Belue called the “Rock Star” Quarterback. He was supposed to be this and that you would swear he was John Elway II.

Murray has accomplished more than Stafford has as a UGA QB, but for whatever reason he falls short in the biggest games.

And please all of UGA Nation — Stop blaming the refs — we got a couple of bad calls but they missed some holding calls that should have been called on our guys.

Every yr there is this issue of guys getting in trouble, suspended, etc. Imagine if those suspended players started the season with the team — might have run the table. We will never know.

I look at the 2012 UGA Football season as a missed opprtunity to do one of those things you do few and far in between — Win a championship. It was there — and it got away.

Please people do not be satisfied with this season given this level of talent.

If UGA was to take the TN-Model, as some peple like “Disgusted” want to do, we’d find our program quickly in the Trash next to TN and we’d be changing coaches every 2 or 3 years from here until eternity. You think 1 NC that was bought and paid for by **Cheating** followed by 10 years of sanctions, bottom feeding, and total loss of all respect is better than 6 seasons of 10+ wins? You think hiring a total sleeze like Bobby Petrino is the answer? ROFL…. if you had enough money to be a booster you’d be the type of classes piece of sh*t that would land our program on probation. It doesn’t matter who you bring in if they can’t beat Saban. You people will continue to whine anyway. The loser attitude are you people who bash players and coaches that have worked their butts off. I’m not a big fan of Richt. I think he’s just good enough to not be good enough. However, I think we played hard tonight. The defense was soft…really soft, and that was the difference. I’m glad we showed some fight. I don’t think Richt will ever leave. Why would he. He has the best job in the world. He can win 10 games with superior talent, get to the Cap One Bowl, make $4,000,000, and be loved and admired by 80% of the state. Not a bad gig, at all. I don’t lay this loss tonight on him, though. I lay the SC loss on him, but that’s neither here, nor there. I just think we could be in this position (playing in a game for a chance at the title) almost every year with someone else as coach. Richt is a good man, though.

Why did we have to play them?

Great game! Both teams played their hearts out. Easy for some “fans” to criticize. Winning is the only thing to some (and it is very important), but not worth losing your soul over. You Dawg fans don’t realize how good you have it. Sports is a crazy thing and Richt & team should have your gratitude—not cheap shots and unfounded condemnation. Go Tech.

Oh, one last thing. One of the biggest problems in college sports is the win at all cost attitude. The unethical behavor by coaches. Auburn, Ohio State Tennessee, Southern Cal, etc. are all embarrassments to college football. I’m sure the players at Ohio State feel great about the FACT that they can’t play for the NC because of an unethical coach who is not there any more; but sure as heck got paid.

Few observations:
*To all the GA haters (FL/SC fans) – suck it. FL – beat UGA and you’re playing in the SECCG. SC – beat FL and you’re playing in the SECCG. Neither of you could do that, so STFU

*Great game tonight, but very tough loss. Bama had two turnovers and we blocked a FG for a TD – seems like this is a game we should win

*Bama rushed for 350 yards – really? I’m sorry McCarron was not going to beat us, so why didn’t CTG make any adjustments?

*Bama had 2 penalites for 15 yards. Really? Really? No way any team goes a whole game without holding, much less a team that runs for 350 yards. Let’s see if Bama only has 2 penalites for 15 yards against ND. The answer is F**K NO.

*Shawn Williams – you called your teammates soft, but when you had a chance to stop Yeldon for a 2 yard loss on 3 and 5 you decided you’re going to grab him by the sholder pads to make the tackle? Are you f**king kidding me? 1 play later it’s AJ to Cooper for a 45 yard TD pass.

*Bobo – you couldn’t come up with a way to get Marshall in the game? You don’t think his speed might have helped? Or, what about doing something crazy like putting both Gurley and Marshall in the backfield at the sametime, to confuse the defense. Oh, and just because you throw an incompletion on first down YOU DON’T HAVE TO RUN IT EVERY F**KING TIME ON 2ND DOWN. FEEL FREE TO GET NUTTY AND THROW ON 2ND DOWN TOO.

*CMR’s time has passed. Hire Kirby Smart – he has learned from the best and he wants to come back to UGA. I agree with many others here – if you guys are happy coming up 5 yards/seconds short than stay the course. I think after 12 seasons with CMR, all the talent we’ve had and zero NC’s should tell you how many to expect moving forward.

Definition of insanity? Doing the same thing, but expecting different results? That’s all you UGA fans who continue to support the current coaching staff. We have reached the proverbial ceiling. I cannot understand why finishing 2nd/3rd in the SEC yeard after year is acceptable to all of you. It’s frustrating and very disappointing.

SEC officiating is terrible. On the roughing the passer the flag was not thrown by the white hat until the QB threw his hands out like you not going to call that. I agree with Kevin Butler. One official had it in for UGA all night. Also Ala. had two penalties all night, the unsportsmanlike and the delay of game. You tell me you run the ball that many times and for that much yardage and not one holding call. I know Bama is a well disciplined team but they are not that disciplined. Anytime UGA got momentum going in the first half we had the holding and block in the back called. Kevin Butler called the official out by name on the post game show. I call it the Saban intimidation factor.

So sad to hear some shameless UGA fans trashing their coach, QB, team, etc. If that pass is not tipped and goes for a TD, you’d be singing a different tune. One play does not make a team or coach a “loser”. As a Tide fan, I understand your disappointment, especially as well as the Dogs have played this year, and in this game. We had some lean years before the last 5 good ones. “Fear the Thumb”(Auburn) knocked a few so called fans off the Bama bandwagon. If UGA had won that game, I’d be crushed, but rooting for them and the SEC against Notre Dame. For the record, I think Murray has developed into a better QB than McCarron. Not his decision not to spike, and not necessarily a bad call by Richt and Bobo, just wasn’t successful. Congrats on a great game UGA, you played well enough to win. To fair weather fans like “Disgusting”….Grow up…or buy a few different team t-shirts and always pull for the one who’s winning. UGA and the SEC deserve better than you. Good riddance.

So many missed opportunities. Don’t forget they missed the early field goal too which means a late FG would have won it. Not spiking the ball was a big mistake at the end. Bama went on to win 2 more National Championships and will play in the next one. Murray did not throw in the flat, the pass was tipped. Conley should have batted it down but he caught it. Easy to judge after the game, hard to not catch a ball when that is your job…

CMR is not getting fired. I seriously wish most of you non-fans would go pull for Auburn or Alabama. As soon as somebody can name a coach that they know will win 117 games over the next 12 season, please do so. Every time I ask this, I get Kirby Smart or a mid-major HC that is hot. They are more likely to be Ray Goff and Jim Donnan again.

Alex

What an effort by the players. That was the best game of the year and the real National Championship. Everyone players came to play and left it on the field. They were all heroes.

Unfortunately that was the best chance UGA will get at a National Championship in the near future. Richt and Bobo will keep this program from ever playing for one. Bobo is a terrible OC and Richt just does not have that championship leadership.

Also, that was one of Saban’s worse coach performances. Terrible clock management at the end of the first half and a horrible decision to throw so much so early. Only to be outdone by UGA’s bonehead mistake not to spike the ball.

Wayne

December 2nd, 2012
4:49 am

As I have said for over 10 years, Richt will never win a NC, and this was the true signature loss that proves it. I have been against Murray since he walked on the field, and I was right. I thought our defense was terrible this year, and I was right. The dawgs were literally LUCKY to be in that game as they gave up what, some 300, 400, maybe even 500 yards of rushing. That really looked like NFL type players to me!! Georgia asked for all this when they hired this losing coaching staff. They are never prepared, have some of the most bizarre and predictable game plans that any junior high school coach could take advantage of, and they continually coach the players DOWN! And we will not even talk about the countless mismanagement of time in the previous years, and especially this one. Well, short of turning colors (which my brain tells me is the right choice) my choice is to forget all about college football until there comes a time that Richt is finally gone, but I’ll probably die first. Gene Chisik wins a title and is gone, Richt continually BLOWS the big ones and gets extension after extension after extension. So, for now I guess I’ve got my fall Saturday’s back for at least 5 or 10 years. Not sure if I can stand the tremendous badgering and the shamefulness of being a bulldog fan for the next 12 months, while the Redneck A’s continue to pile up the National Titles. Plain and simple, this entire football program sucks; just as the entire nation knew, except us idiots who continued to think we had better players, more talent, NFL ready players. Geez, what a laughing stock we are now. Good riddance, what a waste!!

Wayne

Oh and FB, wish I could pull for Alabama, at least I knew I would be rooting for a true FOOTBALL TEAM and not an excuse for one. Somebody always has an excuse for our play, the ball was tipped, our quarterback was hit illegally, ya…ya….ya…., same old crap. Ever want to see a 20 to 21 year old man look like a bewildered and scared to death 3 year old? Look at Murray in this game, almost as if he was ready to cry, and certainly had no clue as to what the h%^$^%$ll was going on. Everybody in the bar noticed it…….of course I’m sure there is an excuse for that as well. My question is…..How the hell did we warrant this game and a chance to go to the BCS CG in the first place……that is what is the most laughable about all of this. We played 2 decent teams this year, and got humiliated by both. The rest were crap and we know it. Florida was also a piece of crap and everyone knows it as well. But they will be back, and so will SC, and now probably Tennessee, and we’ll also have to play a real schedule in the next few years (LSU, ALABAMA, A&M), so kiss 11 wins good bye for a long time to come.

Looking back, this game was potentially won because of the Alabama 2-point conversion. Think about it: if Alabama hadn’t made the 2-point conversion earlier in the game, the score near the end would have been 30-28 and all we would have needed was a field goal to win it. Which we would have done on the last drive of the game once we were within field goal range following the passes. So Saban’s coaching decision to go for 2 really paid off nicely. Who would have thought…

UGA fans just wanted the game give to them.

There are some sorry, as usual fans (?) of football on here, running their mouths off and as usual trying to offend others. You folks of that ilk do not not crap about football.
This was a great game, and although I would have loved to have had 30 seconds more on the clock, UGA gave it all and made the fans of the team proud. We had trouble with the run, all year and that turned out to be a glaring problem last night. We took a Swann dive on a couple of pass plays, that turned out big for Alabama, but over all, the team played their hearts out.
It is a shame that we can’t get the Sugar Bowl most likely, but UGA helped prove last night that the SEC East is on their way back, so we can be proud of the DAWGS for the game, but hate the results.
I hope UGA does get the Cotton Bowl, if nothing else is higher, and I hope they play a respectable team and have a great bowl game.
Anybody on these blogs, if you had one ounce of respect for yourself, much less the school, you are supposed to be loyal to, should realize what a great game this was, and how hard both teams fought. UGA just came up a little short, but they left it on the field. I am proud to be a DAWG fan, and proud to be a resident of the state of Georgia. I will look back on this game, as the great one it really was, and hope the DAWGS keep building a team next year, that will be back in the same position again.

ALABAMA DOES WHAT IT DOES BEST ROLL OVER TEAMS WITH THAT BIG, MEAN, AND NASTY OFFENSIVE LINE AND 2 RUNNING BACKS. ONE A BRUISER AND THE OTHER ONE THE SPEEDSTER. DAWG DEFENSE HAD BEEN SUSPECT ALL SEASON AGAINST THE RUN. TIDE EXPOSED THAT ONE BIG TIME IN THE 2ND HALF. TIDE ALSO HAD THE SUPERIOR QB. MUARRY STILL HAS NOT WON A BIG HUGE GAME LIKE THIS ONE. THE FLORIDA GAME WAS HUGE BUT HE DID NOT WIN THAT ONE. THE GATORS HANDED IT TO THEM WITH THE 6 TURNOVERS. MAYBE NEXT YEAR FOR THE DAWGS. QUESTION IS WILL MURRARY ELECT TO COME BACK AND TRY TO WIN A BIG ONE OR WILL HE LEAVE FOR THE NFL IF THEY WILL TAKE HIM. I DOUBT HE WILL BE A HIGH DRAFT CHOICE.

UGA fans should be very proud of their team. No team could have played harder. Questioning Mark Richt’s coaching ability, or Aaron Murray’s playing ability is ludicrous. That was just a fantastic football game.

To my fellow Bama fans who are running down UGA……..did it ever occur to you that you’re insulting your own team? Bama beat a hell-of-a-team yesterday. Don’t diminish what the Tide accomplished by discounting their opponent.

I’ve been watching the Belles of Southern Bell go by. The Dawg fans are such gracious losers. Listening to dog talk and reading these comments, it is not necessary to win at GA. Obviously, we all cut our sporting teeth on horseshoes. Close is very good enough.. Auh shucks they really played hard, at the first quarter and at the final 2 minutes.
This game has been 12 years in the losing. Bad calls, lack of discipline, slacking (like the second and third quarters), penalities, softness for season after season, third and 1?…are you kidding me, missed field goal in a DOME… So go on and BEAT US MORE AND MORE SO WE CAN WORSHIP MORE, oh most high coaches, Throw those horseshoes and maybe one day, ( although I doubt it), one will explode just like a hand garnade, and pity the po fools who are standing around us. You know we’ll have a good time then, yea, we’ll have a good time then.

To the entire dog nation (AH’s too):
The fact is you controlled your own destiny. If you won last night, you play for the BCS Championship Game against Notre Dame and have a chance to win your first National Championship in 32 years. If you lost, you knew that you would fall behind Florida in the BCS rankings and not be eligible for a BCS bowl (no conference gets to send more than two teams). You knew this for over a week.
Everyone in college football knows that the BCS system is a crap shoot and that’s why it is being shelved in 2 more years. It sucks now, but it is what it is-an “everybody wins a trophy” type of system. While wanna bees like Louisville etc., get rewarded for underachievement, georgia needs to go to the Cotton Bowl, beat Texas by 30 and finish up a legitimate top 5 team! Think of where you came from just a few short years ago!
I could not be more proud of your players and coaches. They are top notch, though I think Grantham should have made adjustments and lined up Jarvis Jones in the middle instead of outside in the 2nd half. Same run defense, just more inside stunts and different looks for Alabama’s massive offensive line to contend with.
Nevertheless, Grantham is a great coach and georgia prepared for and played a tremendous game in the national spotlight. They won the hearts of many outside of the dog Nation (use Google and see for yourself). Coach Richt, Bobo, Grantham and company have brought you all the way back to national prominence. You can now compete NATIONALLY on the field and in the living room of the best recruits in America!
However, though I have gained a lot of respect for the Georgia program, I would not hesitate rolling one of you if you bark in my face in public.

Hey DAWG — feel free to sell all of your stuff and get the frik off the board, friend ~ you act like a loser but our Dawgs were not losers last night – they competed and were in no way anything to be ashamed of. I’m proud of the game we played and the effort those boys have put forth all year. Richt and Co. had a great plan for the game and like all great games it was a slug fest. We just as easily could have won. We beat the #2 team once…we almost beat the almost the # 2 team twice – yes, it’s a coulda, woulda , shoulda type of situatiojhn but give Bama their due – they have a great tandem of offensive line players and backs…………GO DAWGS!

This is only the third ranked team Georgia has played all year and is sad to say it showed. Florida beat 4 teams in the top 12 of the BCS and Georgia beat 1 so why in the world would you say Georiga had the better season. Me see Bama run up about 350 yards on the ground against that vastly improved UGA defense. Me see too that UGA still had a chance to win against Bama when Bama made several crucial mistakes. Fun game to watch, but if Bama doesn’t squander the clock at the end of the half, and if UGA simply blocks the punt and doesn’t have the ball bounce right into Ogletrees hands and doesn’t go untouched for a TD and if Bama doesn’t have a delay of game penalty on the fake punt, then this game would have shown an entirely different score. The “IF” game works wonders. MeSay.

Richt took exception with a question by a media member during Saturday’s post-game presser.

In the final question of Richt’s session, local sports radio personality Chuck Oliver stated that “there are some people, whether it’s fans, media or whomever else that will maybe want to make further conclusions about you or your quarterback, specifically in big games. Would you have a response to those people?”

Richt responded, “I don’t know what you are saying. Why don’t you say it straight up what you’re trying to say?”

Oliver did just that.

“People will say that you and Aaron Murray , specifically, come up short on the biggest stage against the biggest opponents?

Richt: “Is that what you’re saying or everybody else – if that’s what you’re saying? Are you saying that?”

Oliver: “No, I’m saying I hear that every day.”

Richt: “Well, that’s for you to worry about then. If that’s what you say, then I’ll answer the question. If you think other people are saying that, I’m not worried about that. I want to say something else. If anybody thinks our guys didn’t play their tail off and Aaron Murray didn’t play his tail off, they are crazy. That’s unbelievable that somebody would even bring that up.”

The officiating in this game was horrible. Bama never tipped the ball (terrible call by the ref and on the replay it was evident) and Eddie Lacy crossed the goal line on the fumble (CBS didn’t help on this call). In every game there’re good and bad calls for each team, but C.J. Mossley was clearly held on one of Georgia’s TD and the ref just sat there. Oh and what about the block in the back on a kick that CBS and everyone and there brothers saw, but no flag thrown on Georgia. While Georgia fans are hurting over the last couple of plays, don’t forget there were many plays/calls that went your way.

The AJC keeps reporting “9 seconds left”. There were 9 seconds left when the ball was snapped. There were about 15 seconds left when they were headed up to the line. Murray should have clocked it and given Georgia a chance to catch its breath and remind players that if the pass result isn’t in the end zone, you can’t catch it. He didn’t, they didn’t, the ball was caught on the field of play — game over. I’m not a Georgia fan but was pulling for them yesterday. That last 15 seconds was a coaching failure that will cast shadow over an otherwise great game for Georgia.

You had help all night long from the refs. EVERYONE in America who watched this game saw it all. The dirty shot on Aaron Murray, the numerous times Jarvis Jones was TACKLED, AND all the freaking holding calls that went uncalled. If you Nick Saban want step up and say this game was not fair, then you are not the man I thought you were. And to all the Alabama fans who can sleep at night knowing your team was not the best team last night, and walked away with a gimme, then youre all crooks too. The asterick should remain there forever. Its time the bullcrap stops. College football has become a moral dissapointment. And for Mike Slive, Ive got a few words for you. ROY KRAMER. phil,

First of all the ball was tipped at the line of scrimmage, that pass was not intended for Conley, it was intended for Mitchell in the corner of the endzone. So they were not throwing it short. Conley’s instinct is to catch the ball, not intentionally drop it, so you can’t fault him for that. Yes it would have been better if he dropped it, but in that chaotic last few seconds it would be hard for him to run all that through his mind in a split second. I don’t blame Conley at all, it’s just one of those unfortunate things.

They try to hit with the shoulder and “blow up” the player for a sports center moment. You hear the announcers and analyst talking about this all the time. One big exception to this was Ogletree. Now let’s really look at why UGA lost 351 yards rushing for Bama, Bama made the plays when they needed too and good ole luck. UGA played a hell of a game and have nothing to hang their heads about and yes they should go to the Sugar bowl.

Awesome Game! Agree with the “bought refs”… holy smoke. Block in the Back, Holding, on and on…I know National Championships are worth Millions (especially for Bama who has no Pro sports) but I wonder how much it costs to buy no calls? Guess we need to put that in next years budget. Can’t figure out why you hit two HUGE passes and run your 300 pound line down the field in basically a 100 yard dash and don’t spike the ball if no other reason than to let them catch their breath. Wierd. Anyway, What a Game enjoyed the whole deal other than the last 15 seconds that left me stunned. Go Dawgs! and Roll Tide!

Typical comment section. First couple pages: mostly level-headed, disappointed, but proud Dawg fans; proud of the Dawgs and how they played; how they took the #2 team in the country down to the wire; how they almost won the game. Skip to page 10 and thereafter: comments taken over by 3 or 4 people who can only find fault and know all about playing and coaching major CFB; and ready to fire one of the best head coaches in the country. Skip to page 10 and the comments degenerate into name-calling and monday morning QBing. We go 11-1, win the East, play in the SECC game, play one of the best games ever in that series; yet a few (I hope very few) are ready to fire CMR and CMB because we aren’t going to win the NC? Believe it or not, that is NOT mediocrity. Heck, far as that goes, why pick on coaches Richt and Bobo when it was Grantham’s D that gave up all those rushing yards? There are about 100 other programs/teams that wish they were in our shoes; that wish they were as good as UGA; and have the coaches we have. A NC as criteria? That’s absurd. Yep, typical comment section.

I’m proud of this team and the coaches. Great game. Go Dawgs!

And if UGA goes up to the line, spikes the ball with 12 seconds to go – runs two plays and dont score – then everyone criticizing this morning would have taken the opposite stance – “Why didn’t you just run a play when you had Bama on the Ropes? Why give Nick Saban time to line his defense up when we had them?? Fire everyone!!”. Those same coaches and players you are criticizing are the same people hwo engineered an 80 yard drive in 40 seconds with no time outs against Alabama- typical armcharir quarterbacks.

sad thing about the loss last night is that Georgia will be punish for losing the championship game. this is where the bcs is not right. no way ga. should fall in rankings because they lost the championship game. somebody was going to win and somebody was going to lose. if they drop because of that they would have been better of be ranked 4th. it should have been simple. winner gets national title shot , loser get sugar bowl. cannot wait for playoff system in 2014..

Anyone saying other than Alabama won and Georgia lost an incredible game that did both teams proud is shows an abject ignorance of football. That iIs not a comment for debate; it is fact. I’ve seen here comments like, if Georgia doesn’t return the blocked FG for a TD, it’s not close. Duh. Well, if Bama doesn’t hit a 44-yard pass late, UGA still has the lead. If Bama doesn’t tip that last pass UGA catches it. In the end zone for the win or, at the least, gets another play. Even the stupid can see how stupid remarks like that are. The point is, the plays were made as well as so many others that made this a great college football game. Should UGA have spiked it? maybe. It’s not the black and white issue some of you experts make it. Bama was rattled and scrambling, Georgia felt the chance was there to catch them out of position or somewhat diarrayed rather than spiking and letting them get settled. Hindsight is 20/20 but hatred is blind. Going 11-2, coming within five yards of the BCS title game and losing a game for the ages to a very good team doesn’t mean the coaches, players and program sucks. Quite the opposite, it is a strong accomplishment. Congratulations to Alabama for a gutty, well-deserved win. Congratulations to Georgia for putting up one helluva fight. And my condolences to the unfortunate friends and family members who have to love with the haters who see this any other way.

Bull pups usually do pretty good until its time for the game to beome mental and then of course, it breaks down like this one did! Nick Saban must strike fear into the hearts of all the other coaches, or so it seems! When will coaches, all of them, realize that they need to find a real manly style kicker for field goals and PAT’s who can kick a straight football and get over this damm soccer-style craze. I watched more misses this week-end and last than ever and it’s all because of the stupid side of the foot “slapping” of the football. It’s ironic that when ever anyone isn’t for UGA they are automatically poor, uneducated, married to a relative, etc. etc. , I find that the average UGA fan has nothing to resort to than name calling when it come to anyone disparaging their dawgs. I’m not a huge fan of either team but I certainly do not respect UGA & Mark Richt’s gang of thugs. I was under the impression that Richt was a Christian & led his team thusly but they are unleashed thugish animals & the only reason for that is Richt says he’s one thing but teaches something very different to his players. They are classless, egotistical criminals with numerous times being arrested or caught in something illegal & the powers that be in Athens quietly cover up all the trouble these thugs get into. I have lived in Athens all my life, born & bred here & am a professional who is not poor nor married to a relative & I have watched the UGA athletics become a breeding ground and holding pen for future felons. Its a shame that honor & class is something UGA will never be able to be proud of. I for one am glad they were show ‘the door’ so to speak, they needed taking down a peg as did Richt.

I understand Richt’s logic for not spiking the ball. We had the match-ups we wanted and if Bama’s defender doesn’t tip the ball we would have time left on the clock to quickly run another play. Bobo in his post gamer presser said that in hindsight he would have spiked the ball. Would that have made the difference? We’ll never know. What I do know was it was one heck of a football game and Georgia received a lot of respect for how tough we played.

We came 5 yards and one play from being in the national title. We fought and scrapped and just ran out of time against the best team in the country. No shame in that. It hurts that we were so close, but we were also really close to not being in this game at all.

Real Georgia fans know by now that this is simply the way of things. We go through these bitter times so that we can better appreciate the good ones in the future. The life of a true fan is mostly sour, not sweet. But the sour makes the sweet all the sweeter when it comes.

I have been waiting to see my team in the national title game for 30 years, and I almost saw it. When they ran up to run that last play or spike the ball I was in tears and I didnt even know it. They didnt make the play, and they lost. My heart broke, and I mourn. But I do not despair.

I do not despair because I remember where this team was a few short months ago when Carolina kicked our teeth out and laughed. I remember surrendering a million rushing yards to a Kentucky team that would have a hard time beating an old lady’s quilting club. I remember how it felt when Jarvis forced a Gator fumble in the end zone and we beat the #2 team in the country to take back control of our division. And just a few short hours ago I remember seeing the fear and realization in the eyes of Bama fans when it occurred to them that they had the battle of the season on their hands against a team that was red and black and heart and fire and would fight until the last whistle blew.

We couldnt stop the rush. We should have spiked the ball. If we had only made that first field goal. We had an 11 point lead in the 3rd quarter…..

Doesnt matter what excuses you make or how you rationalize it. Both teams made big plays, both teams could have done a lot of things different. This is the nature of the game.

Alabama won and they deserved to. They are an exceptional football team. Congratulations to them and their fans. Enjoy the windfall, and don’t take it for granted.

I am proud of this Georgia team. I am proud to be a Bulldog. And that wont change, even if it’s another 30 years before we have this chance again. I love this team. I have an irrational emotional connection to something completely outside myself and utterly beyond any aspect of my control, and it is just fantastic.

In posts leading up to this Saturday, I stated the Bulldogs had not met a team with the overall team talent of Alabama. Second, how does a team react in pressure situations? Third, how much coaching determines how the talent of the players are utilized in the proper applications. Alabama has all three covered. Where as, Georgia appears only to be short in one area, coaching, to bring out the talent and putting the players in an arena to succeed. Good game both sides. We
( the SEC ) will be represented well in the Sugar Bowl.

12 years later and Richt still can’t win the big one. During Richt’s tenure national titles have been won by Alabama twice, LSU twice, Florida twice, and Auburn once. UGA puts more players in the NFL than every single one of those teams. RIcht is paid 3 million dollars a year, and yet some of you are okay with him remaining the coach. Sorry dog fans but Richt will never win a title. Wait until next year and the year after when you have to play Alabama and LSU during the regular season, thus eliminating your chance to even play in the SEC title game, not to mention Florida will continue to get better so you’ll be back to losing against them every year.

1. Player arrests and suspensions certainly played a role in the loss to SC. Johnny Rambo was back, but he and the others hadn’t played in a game since the loss to Mich. State. Too bad that Richt didn’t suspend Rambo’s mouth.
2. Richt is incapable of accepting responsibility for his own mistakes, and the failure to spike the ball was poor game management and a very big mistake.
3. Rambo was probably correct that Georgia had better talent. That is nothing new. The talent is always there, but it is unfocused, entitled, and smack talking..
4. Georgia fans who are whining about the officials must not have seen Lacy and Yeldon running through Georgia’s talented defense. The refs missed more calls against Georgia than they did against Alabama, except for the hit on Murray. Hopefully the SEC will suspend the Alabama player from the NC bowl game.

These guys gave everything they had last night and we’re all heartbroken, but it just wasn’t meant to be. We’ll be back, but hopefully without you a##holes. We don’t need ya.

Why in the world didn’t Bama run the ball against A&M on that last possession? You talk about poor coaching. Oh yea sometimes it is about being lucky and doesn’t have a thing to do with coaching. I agree Saban is good but if the other parts of the country don’t screw up Bama is not in the NC because of poor playcalling.

Alabama beat UGA straight up, but what is the deal with holding jerseys and throwing players down not being holding, and knocking a qb off his feet from the head after a play not being ejection. THe way I see it, again, Bame won the game, this looks like the same crew that allowed Farley to nail Murray in the back. Before Kramer left, the SEC officials were known as the best in the land. Since Roll Tide Slive has become comish, they are the laughing stock of the nation.

Alabam Offensive Line. Submission? WTF are you talking abou?t. What game did you watch? Are you sure you are not some Tech Fan hiding behind your mothers skirt. It was a darn game. UGA and it’s freshman. sophomore line did a pretty good job against your vaunted defensive front. It appears, again, that the ony thing you guys can be proud off is cheap shots. Google Darwin Holt.Chick Granning. See what you find doofus

I read a stat that UGA ranks 6th in the country between 1992-2011 as having the most NFL draftees, ahead of both LSU and Alabama.

UGA doesn’t have talent problem they have a coaching problem. Imagine if Nick Saban was UGA’s coach. UGA would be playing for its 3rd title in 4 seasons.

Glad to see Georgia only dropped to 6TH in the AP. Can’t really count Ohio State so Georgia is really 5TH. . Played for 60 minute this year and the coaches and players improved as the year went on. No complaints , great year. If a few of the 5 star linemen will commit, Georgia will be set for next year.

Ben@1109AM…well spoken, brother; well spoken.
2-16, disgusted and Dr Phill….pick a team, any team….just not UGA. ‘Fans’ like you are a dime a dozen. “Choked”?! A game that is considered by most pundits as the best SECC game ever, with the Bulldogs marching down the field with 1:08 left to play and almost pulling it off; and you say the Dawgs ‘choked’?! One of the more ridiculous, inaccurate and misplaced comments out of the more than 800 posted here.
‘Said it’s great … to be … a Georgia Bulldog!

Hey Kevin, how did they do us proud? They lost twice with the easiest schedule in America. Anything less than a SEC championship this year, with this talent and schedule is a total failure.
You people who say “good try Dawgs” are the same jerks who give out participation trophies to every kid. When they tried to pull that crap with my boy I made him give it back and he’s better off today because of it.

Said Saban, “They should get to go to a BCS bowl game. They played a tremendous game out there today … and could have won at the end just as soon as us. It came down to the last play..”
“I watch these teams that are 7-5 that are talking about they might go to a BCS game because they won their championship…Something’s not right here. I don’t know what people think of the SEC. … I don’t think it’s fair to the Georgia players, coaches and their institution if they don’t go to a BCS game.”
…Alabama allowed 28 points, the second-highest total they’ve allowed all season.

Associated Press, “…Both teams played like champions…”

Yahoo Sports, “…Georgia had one last chance…’Bama … was pushed to the brink by inspired Georgia…The Tide needed everything it could muster to win…The result left SEC commissioner Mike Slive running a hand through his white hair and saying, “Wow,” over and over. It left Georgia fans broken-hearted but proud. It left Alabama fans giddy but drained…”
Montgomery Advertiser, “…Saturday’s 21st edition was the greatest…SECC Game…of them all, a back-and-forth, no-holds-barred title match between No. 2 Alabama and No. 3 Georgia. It ended with the clock running out on the Bulldogs’ championship dreams at the Crimson Tide’s 5-yard line, and Alabama escaping with a 32-28 victory…”
No, haters; I’m not claiming a moral victory. We lost, ‘Bama won. But some of the negative comments about coaches Richt and Bobo and Murray are risible.

Come on guys, your team played a great game – probably one of the best college games I’ve ever seen two teams play. Sure, the end could have been handled better as far as clock management, but if they would have scored you would be saying that was a great decision to keep Bama on their heels.

I do feel for you if you don’t get a BCS bowl, you definitely should in front of many who will go.

Chuck oliver of 680 the fan.. what a classless, low life, cheap shot, you took to question Coach Richt about his and Aaron Murrys ability to win the big game at yesterdays post game press conference. Did you watch that game? How could you ask that question at that time. You are a joke and represent everything wrong with the media.

I ask anyone who will listen. Is there any accountability in society any more? Is it ok for people to publicaly try and slander and discredit good honest men not to mention young student athletes.
Mark Richt and Aaron win and lose with class and dignity.

Oliver you are a disgrace to auburn university.

Georgia’s ultra defense was exposed. They are not the caliber their stats reflect. Mostly against inferior oponents. Whooo-deee-doooo. Pit them against equal caliber competition and you see what happens. Under pressure they have a melt down. Oh many reasons can be laid out but the bottom line is, Ga could not perform under extended duress. Where as Alabama could.

UGA has a lot to be proud of and proud of this team. Call your friends in Auburn and Tennessee and ask what it is like to not matter… Stop the Kirby Smart talk. He is the most overrated assistant coach who has done NOTHING other than micro-managed by Nick Saban. He drives the Alabama faithful nutty with his stuff on defense and after what I witnessed his behavior on the then over turned interception.. Running at the the UGA crowd doing the cut throat sign.. Screw him !! Don’t Want him.. I am forever PROUD to be a Bulldog and Our time will come.. back to back SEC East winners… Our time will come…

Richt is a GREAT coach and a CLASS Act! Georgia accepts moral victories, whereas,
schools like Alabama do not. C’MON MAN do you really think that Alabama would keep Saban there for 12 year without having won a national championship. That’s why they are going back for the third time in three years. Different expectations from coaches.

Two point conversion was the difference in the game, made a 4 point differential rather than two point differential. Dawgs could have won with field goal in last 8 seconds.

Lambert Dawg… You put that as well as it could be put. I am amazed that Coach Richt could be so composed after that jerk asked him that ridiculous question. That clown needs to be held accountable for his actions. I believe we all see what size man Oliver is. After Coach Richt asked him if that was his question or someone else, Oliver said nothing. I believe that says it all. Richt has class and Oliver is an @&&

Moist Dawg… I understand where you are coming from. However, Coach Richt also asked a valid question that Olive Hole did not answer. I don’t blame Coach Richt one bit for his reply. Also, there is a time and place for everything and that definitely was not the right time or place. I agree 100% with Saban, it is a shame that the Dawgs don’t get a BCS bid, ridiculous!
