THEY SAID IT
Quotes from the UGA locker room following the Bulldogs’ 42-10 win over Georgia Tech . . .
“That was a great victory for us. You know we had people talking to us all week about trying to look ahead and all that and were you worried about this, that or the other. I didn’t see any signs of that. Our players understand how important this game is. I thought our coaching staff did a good job of staying focused. Certainly I never I had a moment where I was thinking ahead. That’s so dangerous, and I’ve coached long enough to where I can’t even let myself do that. So I knew that wasn’t going to be a problem. I just thought everybody did a super job of preparing. It was a good day.”
– Georgia coach Mark Richt on keeping the focus on Tech
“Am I happy? Yeah, I’m happy. I’m excited about the future. But I really do enjoy these young guys and these other coaches who maybe haven’t experienced it before to get a chance to see what it’s like. I enjoy it, but I enjoy watching (the players) have fun, really. I enjoy watching them celebrate. I’ll jump in there and have some fun, too, but I’ve lived through a couple of them. I know it’s a great time, and it’s a lot of fun.”
– Richt on being back in the national-championship picture
“I thought our guys dominated the game. There was a lot of meaningless yards there in the second half being picked up. They had three points going against the first group, and the best thing to do was to get those guys out of the game because we’ve got big things to do next week.”
– Georgia defensive coordinator Todd Grantham on giving up 426 yards to the Yellow Jackets
“We’ve got a shot. That’s why you play the game. That’s why you do what you do. We’re one game away from playing for the national championship. Obviously we’re going to play a good team. They’ve got good players, good coaches. But we’ll be ready.”
– Grantham on Saturday’s game against Alabama
“Oh, man, I’ve wanted to get back so bad. Drops happen. It just happened at the wrong time for me. So I want to get back and hopefully make some plays this time.”
– Georgia wide receiver Malcolm Mitchell on wanting to atone for a potential touchdown pass he dropped vs. LSU in the 2011 SEC Championship game
“This is what everybody has been dreaming of. This is what everybody came back for. This is our main goal, to get to Miami and win. So we’re going to go to Saturday and continue to handle our business.”
– Georgia free safety Bacarri Rambo on Georgia’s national-championship shot
“Shoot, man, I had the same goals as those guys had back in January. I knew as soon as I chose to come here the capability that Georgia had. I knew those guys would be ready to get back this year and be hungry. Now we’re just trying to finish it off next week and get that win they didn’t get last year.”
– Freshman tailback Todd Gurley on coming to UGA to play in the SEC Championship game

Joey I’am with you I never thought after the SC game we would be in this position. Since we are I feel like this might be our year and that makes me so nervous. In 2002 a dreadful lost to FL cost us a chance, in 2007 a monumental jumped by LSU over us kept us from playing Ohio State. 2012 it’s in our hands Mark Rict please prepare the guys well.

Bummer QB gets happy feet under pressure just like Murray. Who is going to bring the pressure? Could this be an OT game for the right to beat Notre Dame? I feel a couple of TO’s , say one fumble and one pick for the bumbling Tide and no TO’s for the Dawgs.

So excited about this team. I’ve been really impressed, and let’s hope our boys can continue playing together like a team. The biggest thing that worres me about the next game is Murray. He’s been extraordinary against ordinary competition. He has yet to show us that he can treat games against amazing defenses like any other game and dominate (or at the very least not make big mistakes). I think Bama will be the game where he will show he can stand up to the pressure like we all know he can…

I have been a BULLDOG since the early 70’s. Remember the National Championship of 1980. It’s time to do it all once again. Alabama is good and it will take our best game. So I am holding my breath and hoping for the best. GO YOU HAIRY DOGS.. I just wish the great Munson was here and Let him make the call only the God in heaven knows what it would be.

Georgia continues to play very solidly on both sides of the ball. The bama “mystique” has been challenged and despite everything we have heard, the tide can be beaten. There is no reason at all that Georgia can’t win this game.
Just stay focused Dawgs and give us two more wins this season!!!!!!!
It’s Great to Be A Georgia Bulldog!!!!!!!!!!

Snoop never thought he’d see this after the beatdown in Columbia. Right now, the Dawgs have that intangible power that tells me that if they all really focus hard and dedicate the next two months of their lives to excellence that they will be National Champions and will have those rings for the rest of their lives!
If that happens, I’m willing to give Richt a bye for a year or two to ensure that he’s really seen the light.

Alabama can be beat. That’s a fact.
Maybe we can beat them, too. That’s an opinion.
We can be beat. Maybe they can beat us.
That’s why they play the game, boys and girls. I can’t wait to see what happens, but I have a good feeling about it, sorta like the feeling I had before the Hawaii game. No, I’m not comparing Alabama to Hawaii. I’m comparing Georgia to Georgia, hot team to hot team.
Alabama may not be the best Alabama team ever, but they are a very, very competent football program. We’re going to have to cinch our loins to beat them.
Go, You Hairy Bulldogs!

What a great opportunity that the Dawg Nation truly has to climb the mountain once again and win a big one for our great state!
Alabama can be had ,but it will require our best game.
The Dawgs learned much from last years championship game with LSU.
We must play all four qtrs and leave it all out on the field.
Our defense is now playing “lights out”.
Murray does not have to win all by himself,we have more weapons than we had last year and the two great runners have the maturity that we did not have last year.
it is going to be a great game with the Dawgs winning it in the fourth qtr.
GO YOU HAIRLY DAWGS!
