Georgia would be an underdog against Alabama in the SEC Championship game but, if the Bulldogs pull an upset there, would be favored over Notre Dame in the national title game.
That’s the early word from oddsmakers.
Todd Fuhrman, former sports oddsmaker at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, said Monday that he projects Georgia as a 7-point underdog to Alabama in the Dec. 1 SEC title game. But if the Bulldogs beat Alabama in the Georgia Dome, they would be a 4-point favorite over Notre Dame in the Jan. 7 BCS title game in Miami, said Fuhrman, now senior market analyst for betting information services provider Don Best Sports.
RJ Bell, of sports betting news website pregame.com, sees it similarly. He projects Georgia as a 7-point underdog to Alabama but views the Bulldogs as 1-point favorite if they play Notre Dame.
All of this could be altered by what happens Saturday, of course.
Notre Dame, No. 1 in this week’s BCS standings, closes its regular season at USC and needs a win to secure a spot in the national title game. Alabama, BCS No. 2, plays Auburn and needs a win to clinch a berth against Georgia in the SEC title game. And BCS No. 3 Georgia plays Georgia Tech, which could knock its arch-rival out of the national-championship picture with an upset victory.
The top two teams in the final BCS standings, to be released Dec. 2, will reach the national-title game. Although there are no guarantees in a system driven by polls and computers, BCS analysts agree that if Alabama and Georgia win this week, then the winner of the SEC Championship game would rank in the top two.
If Alabama faces Notre Dame in the BCS title game, Fuhrman projects the Crimson Tide as an 11-point favorite over the Fighting Irish. Bell figures Alabama as a 10-point favorite over Notre Dame.

Just take care of Tech and worry about Alabama in Dec. Sure would be funny if Auburn upsets Alabama. The whole ESPN crew would have heart attacks and die; then Derick Dooley would have a job while he collects his buyout from Tennessee.

UGA has a MUCHO better passing game than Alabama–UGA is ranked 35 in passing, Alabama 73.
UGA has a better set of running backs than Alabama, Gurley & Marshall, are both tougher to stop than anyone Alabama has.
UGA’s oline has given up less sacks than Alabama. So they’re better there also.
UGA defense is in the top 5 in the nation in second half points allowed, so is Alabama, so defenses are even. Defensive edge to UGA, which is loaded with more NFL talent.
The Alabama pass defense has been exposed by Mettenberger, who struggled against every team EXCEPT ALABAMA. Johnny football also had a CAREER BEST against ALABAMA.
Coaching? Mark Richt is 2-1 vs. Alabama, and has a higher career winning percentage as a head coach than Nick Saban.

The Georgia defense can shut Rol Tide Roll down. Bama should have lost to LSU who ws almost beaten by Ole Miss.
I call the game even. I think that Florida would beat Alabama. Florida beat Texas AM. It’s all set up beautifully for UGA. UGA needs to just play to potential. The OL is the weak link but they are getting better.

The Georgia OLine is better than Alabama’s.
Georgia’s 2 backs have a higher per yard average than Alabama’s top 2 backs.

Alabama is a mirror image of Florida:
1) run the ball on offense, don’t practice passing
2) stop the run on defense
3) lean on luck, need to win turnover
If Georgia does ANY of the following, they win:
If win the turnover battle, Georgia beats Alabama.
If Gurley/Murshall combine for 200 yards rushing, Georgia wins.
If Murray throws for 300 yards and completes 70%, Georgia wins.
If Murray runs for 75 yards, Georgia wins.

It’s time for Mark Richt to make Kirby Smart pay for turning him down a few years ago. Also look for Todd Grantham to be licking his chops to outcoach Saban.
I think Grantham will outcoach Saban in this game, and Richt will outcoach Smart, it’s personal, and it will be ugly for Alabama.
Georgia won’t just win, Georgia will completely embarrass Alabama, and the media will no longer be talking about Nick Saban and Alabama.
Saban will enjoy being the medai darling for 12 more days….
Saban’s clock is ticking……..
And Saban’s team is going down in an EPIC embarrassing lopsided loss that will make AJ cry and Saban wish for Texas A & M.

1. I think Alabama had their bad game of the year and although I hope they have another. I am not so sure we can beat them.
2. IF we were to beat Tech and Alabama, I am not sure it will be against Notre Dame. I am not sure they are good enough to beat USC.
3. I wouldn’t bet on Oregon winning out either.
4 GT Bob that is because Notre Dame would be about 3-8 if they played in the SEC. And if we do by some miracle get to play them, only a miracle would prevent UGA from wiping the field up with them. I think them and you would be a close game.
5. IF Notre Dame loses to USC and we win out, will Florida be the other team in the Championship? IF Murray hadn’t choked when we played Florida, UGA wins by 20. IF he doesn’t choke and we play them again, we will beat them by 20.
6. The odds makers should rank the teams. They don’t care if the team has a loss at the beginning or the end of the season. They look at teams like SC and don’t rank a team that isnt as good as them above them because they lost to Florida and LSU even if that team is undefeated or has only one loss. It is moronic that losing a game near the end of the season will get you ranked lower than a team that lost a game at the first of the season.

I think Notre Dame is equal to Vanderbilt this year.
Notre Dame has beaten 3 teams in the top 20 of the BCS and 6 teams with winning records. Vandy hasn’t beaten a team in the BCS standings or a team with a winning record. How do you determine that they are equal?

The Dawgs beat the Gators in a big game. The question is whether they can beat Tech in a big game, Bama in a big game, and then win another big game against somebody else. I lean towards pessimism, but I’ll be cheering as hard as anybody else that they’ll find a way.

well, @William 1:08 am, yes, most would naturally and normally agree. The coaches will say the same sort of thing as well; however, they will also begin intensive behind the scenes planning, sort of preplanning now required by the sudden change. But, it is fine that you and all the fans only concentrate on Tech. The coaches will concentrate on preparing a game plan to practice and execute to beat the hell out of Tech….that is for sure….but the SEC Champ. game puts the additional, and desired, burden of preplanning for certain teams. If everything waited until Sunday am early, we would be a disorganized bunch; and that, we are not. Go Dogs, beat Hell out of Tech and anyone else standing in the way of an SEC and National Championship, and here’s to the proper planning required at this point of a championship worthy participant such as The University of Georgia Bulldogs. We have earned this position by being one hell of a good football team. To all three of our worthy opponents in this quest at hand, we wish you the best of good health and hope you are at full strength when we play you. We want to beat you at your best. We will beat you at your best. May all our players and participants be healthy, happy and at full bore as Georgia gonna take those Big ‘Ships back to our house this year. You’ve had your time and you probably will again, God Willing….But, ’scuse us as we beat you all and to all, a good night!

Hopeful but cautious. Mindfull of the fact that UGA has not been to the big “dance” since 1980. That’s a long time for a so called SEC Powerhouse team in a State with some of the best high school football talent in the country. It seems that when expectations are this high bad things happen for the dawgs. Examples are this year’s South Carolina game, the Al game (”blackout”)in Athens and the long “streak” against Florida.
In this year’s S.C. game, the team and coaches showed up for the game and reminded me of a bunch of drunks with a hangover. Later, Shawn williams had to call a teammate a loafer and soft to inspire and wake the sleeping giant. This team remains a mystery.

@ voice of reason….you are a terrible example of a wasted human being….how could you even think of calling me a “low rent fantard”. I’ll remind you that we sold most of what is now Alabama for less than 50 cents per acre during the great Yahoo Land Scandal of 1795. Now, you have annointed yourself as some sort of High Commisioner of Mobile Home Park Proporiety. Three cheers to you for the proper nomenclature you display in your choosing to use mobile home as opposed to trailer. Perhaps we did leave some good blood there abouts. In fact our most morally correct Leader in early Georgia was Senator/Governor George Troope, who returned from Washington to leave the Senate early in order to seek and regain the governorship(successfully) in order to try to rescind the morally corrupt Yahoo Land Act of 1795 (unsucessfully)….but I digress, One must tend to one’s duty to correct even the slightest hint of a misconstued shot toward the Mobile home industry. Of interest to lovers of the fine city of Tuscaloosa (guilty), is that Governor Troope spent his childhood, or a part thereof, as a good fortuned son of a very successful early resident of the High Bluff Area of the Black Warrior River in the late 1700s in the colony/state of Georgia. Yes, not only Alabama, but also Tuscaloosa, was a part of the Great State of Georgia until we decided (foolishly) to sell it. @Voice of Reason it is so noted that your early am entry into the blogosphere fails to denote a casually attired, late riser wearing leatherslipers and a silk coffee jacket as your highly esteemed position, albeit self appointed, would seem to require….rather, I must now envision your state issue, bright orange vest used efficiently both as a highway workers vest, state prisoner variety, or that of the deer hunter poised for action. Still, you find time in your early dawn rash of community duties to defend what you seem to see as something worthy of your esteemed defense. In short sir, it not worthy. You see, we have continued our own esteemed defense of integrity, though sir, we are fully appeciative of your kind offer to trek back East to, shall we say, “help out”. No need sir, but should the need arise, do tell us to which white oak tree nearest the courthouse in Tuscaloosa shall we nail and affix the message of distress. Thanks and nice shot. I go by Dog in Nam because that is what and where I am. Also go by Bill Holmes. Nice talking to you. Saban has really brought you guys back in a hurry. I’m truly happy for you guys. But the decent bloggers among us, and there are quite a few, really need to try and bring some sort of decency back to this thing. All my Georgia friends and I have always gotten along with Alabama guys. i think most of this nastiness on all sides is coming from guys who probably didn’t attend either institution…..but they have their rights as well, and I think they are just as deserving of time as any and we don’t limit or want to limit who loives UGA. I don’t worry about the few that seem to so upset you guys. If you really kjbnow many UGA folks then usually you are not in this discussion unless in humor or when it really needs a voice of reason. UGA deserves a shot just as well as the next. The USC guy here that is sick of UGA, now because we were “skinned alive”….. you know, even the USC players saw in the UGA players’ eyes that they had given up……that is not a good thing, but it has happened. But, the fact that we got that under control and started to play like we can, which can be lights out, is a sign of good coaching, not the other way around…but whatever you believe, please do not fall into this camp of apparently USC guys who just can’t get over the fact that we lost only one game and beat a team that beat them or whatever…it is what it is….and @we run the east welcome to your new found position, but this is 2 years straight that y’all had late season difficulties….actually more than 2 years….bvest of luck USC is a quality place and USC have quality alums….but, so do we, and you all know it…….so what is it …now that we are pulling ourselves togrther and proving to be a hell of a team, we are suppoised to all act like it doesn’t count or it ain’t real….well, it is real and there are many surviving witnessess….we are playing some really good, tough, highly skilled ball now and have been for a while….anyway, just get over it man…like voice of reason here, just blow up your chest and beat everyone you play like Alabama almost did….we have beat USC many, mnay times over the years, and all my USC friends tell me that you guys tend to have problems late in the year….is that UGA’s fault now….come on. man….aw hell, we’ll take full responsibility for that too….just play ball with us….don’t pick it up and go home with it…..we got a team loaded with top talent and all you guys know it….at least let us play on the same terms as you guys…..anyway @ Voice Of Reason, nice talking to you and good luck to UA

Georgia should very well be an underdog to Alabama, but IF they were to play well enough to beat them, they most certainly would be playing well enough to be favored over ND. Of cource, there is the matter of a month delay between those events.

UGA fans are great believers, and I love UGA. BUT, there’s no way we play at the same level as Alabama. CMR doesn’t function, think or work at the same intensity as Nick Saban, and we’re going to be pummelled. This same crowd was calling for a coaching change prior to the FL game because CMR couldn’t win the big one. He still can’t, and you’ll see that when we take the field against UA. Wow. UGA had one of the weakest schedule’s of any SEC football team this year. They have only played two top 20 teams. Got blown out by South Carolina and barely beat Florida that had 6 turnovers many self induced. Bama has played 4 teams in the top 20 and only lost one to Texas A&M who is playing as good as any team in the country right now. UGA did not have to play LSU, Alabama, Mississippi State or Texas A&M.
I met an ex Alabama linebacker last season. I asked him what he thought about Mark Richt as a head coach. He laughed and said I hope he coaches the Bulldogs for the next 20 years.

Enough on the SC “beatdown” all the nerds and trailer trolls want to keep harping on. There was no beatdown. There was a 4 minute stretch of one quarter where everything fell apart for the Dawgs…the rest of the game was played very tightly. On the road, in the SEC against a top 10 opponent a 4 minute stretch of bad football gets out of hand quickly. Even the most biased of South Carolina fans will admit that they won on a stretch of a few minutes.
To the Bama trolls, you’re going to get yours soon enough. UGA is a better team than Bama and EVERY NFL scout will concur with that. And to the nerds taking their break from Warcraft to troll the dog blobs. UGA already beat the best team in this state that runs a 1930’s era high school offense last week. Insects would lose to Ga Southern 35-17.

The link below is a whiney article by a reporter and Big Ten alum, but scroll down to the included map of the US by state titled “Supply of Per Capita Football Talent-FBS Rosters” by a geographer, presented at the 2012 Annual Meeting of the Association of American Geographers. The state of Georgia has 1.74 FBS players, with national norm set at 1.00. Forget the naormalized math part, and just look at the math. A quote about the map from the article:
“It pretty clearly shows what Goudge referred to as the “pigskin cult” of the south, to which the Big Ten footprint does not extend. With the glaring exception of Ohio, there is no dark red in Big Ten country; the map only gets paler and paler the further Northeast it extends, where there are more televisions but fewer prospects.”

Only Tech’s offense can save them Saturday. If the Dawgs learned their lessons well against GA Southern then Moobs will have to pull something out of his arse to even have a chance. They do a good job but remember how Iowa ate them alive in the bowl game a couple years back? That’s because they were prepared… the Dawgs actually have game experience against the triple option. It will be interesting to see how we get after it Saturday.
It looks like the Garbage Can Scavengers are pretty bad vs the pass. They will be loading the box to stop the run so we can’t play keep away. I hope Bobo decides to blitzkrieg them and put them in a hole early. If we can force them into catch up mode it is all over. I wouldn’t be surprised, however, if we see a repeat of “we run this state”. Gurley and Marshall are the best backs Tech has seen all year and if we can run early I would expect that we will continue to pound them.

But Mandel also has 5-6 Central Michigan in a bowl, while fellow MAC member 8-3 Ohio is left out. CMU had 5 blowout losses where opponents scored 40 or more points. Ohio, who was the first school to become bowl eligible this year, had one bad loss, 2 close losses and beat Penn State. Mandel loses a lot of credibility on that.

This week is what matters… same scenario as last week. Win or it is all for naught. There is the added incentive of it being the bugs… that can’t be under estimated.
But I still do not see where everybody is so afraid of Bama. Their defense is nearly as good as UF’s. UF plays the pass much better than Bama has. Are they a good team, yes. Do the Dawgs have no chance against. NO. They have as good a chance against Bama as they did against UF. A&M won not so much because they were better than Bama but because they didn’t buy into the “Saban will outcoach you” “Bama is a juggernaut” BS everybody in the SEC seems to swallow. LSU had Bama beaten until they played soft on that final drive. They screwed up 4 or 5 times and STILL had them whipped. The Dawgs need to view Bama as just another good SEC opponent not some invincible giant that requires an insane amount of luck to beat.

I finally found Ohio. Mandel has them as the “Big Ten #7″ slot vs. Iowa State in the Heart of Dallas Bowl. I feel so much better now.

Mark Richt is the Head Coach at one of the “premier” schools in the nation. It’s his job to recruit well, and he has overall, it’s his job to get quality coaches, groom them to move on, and replace them with quality coaches, not so well here. Programs get stale without some turnover, some new ideas. It’s his job to make sure his team shows up fit and ready, mentally and physically, to play in the toughest conference in the country, that’s where he’s abysmally failed the last few years LHarding Dawg, and a few others. If you can’t see that, or won’t admit that, I could care less, nothing to do with hate.
WDE, I have made comments that our program shouldn’t get embarassed by anyone in the country, especially on a consistent basis, and I stand by that. We should consistently compete for championships, East, SEC, and National. Losing, we all lose games, even Bama, their fans were disappointed with a loss, but they realize it comes with the territory.
I haven’t given Mark Richt a pass for mismanaging the tremendous resources he has available to him. He’s heading in the right direction I believe, hopefully the problems we had before won’t repeat themselves. Mark Richt got comfortable and quit working hard, and it should have cost him his job, in this league you can’t rest on what you’ve accomplished.

There is no way Georgia can avoid getting screwed if they lose to Tech or Alabama. Alabama would go to the Championship game and no more than two SEC can make out the rest of the BCS schedule. With an SEC in the Championship game at least the SEC will have three teams in BCS games total but no more are allowed from any one Conference. If we beat Tech but lose to Alabama , Georgia will have two losses in the minds of the Bowl selection committee and Georgia will get the Capital One , Outback or maybe even the Chic-Fil-A Bowl. The lost to South Carolina made it certain that the only BCS Bowl game Georgia will end up with is the National Championship Game so all we have to do is beat Alabama.

Mobile Dawg – I’ll take a well played game in the SEC CG but I won’t be happy with it. This team CAN win it all. It’s the best overall team that Richt has had. Arguments could be made about the defense but this offense has way more firepower than 2002, 2005, or 2007. The line is not as good as those teams but pretty close. Gurshall is better than Moreno… he had moves but he didn’t have break away speed. The D has way more talent top to bottom but I don’t know if they have worked as well as a unit as those teams. The performance against UF was reminiscent of those teams however.
Bottom line – this team CAN win it all. I can’t say should because we don’t the opponent beyond Bama in SEC CG. I can’t honestly say that the Dawgs should win that one but I can say they CAN.

Well, Stanford and Texas A&M each beat the #1 team in the nation. Texas A&M lost to Florida and LSU by a total of 8 points, but one of Stanford’s losses was to the current #1 in overtime, and the other was a 17-13 loss to Washington. Should Stanford be ranked ahead of LSU and A&M? Pretty quickly these arguments become almost circular.

You think that winning a NC would:
1. Leave his with nothing left to accomplish. and
2. allow him to go be a minister.
In reality, striving for a NC is simply one of the goals he has for his players, and I doubt he sees that as the end all for him, one year. Other players will surely enroll next year.
And the big thing I believe you are missing is that it seems obvious that coaching college football IS already his ministry?

UGA and Bama have played 4 common opponents to date, 5 once Bama v Aub is in the books.
Here are the results:
FL Atl
Bama Score: 40-7
UGA Score 56-20
Ole Miss
Bama 33-14
UGA 37-10
Missouri
Bama 42-10
UGA 41-20
Tenn
Bama 44-13
UGA 51-44
Aub
Bama TBD
UGA 38-0
The only one with any real discrepancy is Tenn – which btw was the first game we had Alec Olgetree and Bacarri Rambo back for and the defensive timing was off, and players that filled in for them went back to their natural position. Not an excuse as much as a fact of the matter.
Another interesting item
Last week UGA beat Ga So. (8-2 #1 team in the Southern Conf.) 45-14
While Bama beat W.Carolina (1-9 last place #9 in the Southern Conf) 49-0
Ga So beat W.Carolna 45-13 btw.
The last 4 games UGA has outscored it’s opponents 137-33, Bama has outscored it’s last 4 132-53.
My point is, UGA and Bama aren’t as far apart as people try to make them out to be. Especially since the Kentucky game.

Jville Dawg, I looked at that myself, but unfortunately all that means nothing. You only have to look at the UF, SC, and UGA games with each other to see that the common opponent thing tells us little.
Individual matchups will be the difference, OCs vs DCs, HC vs HCs, but especially the players. Look at how our Jones and SC’s Clowney can impact a game if their blocker can’t handle them. Almost win a game single-handedly.
Or wide-out X vs corner-back Y.
Matchups will tell the tale.

We all understand why you Alabama folks fixate on all of those fictitious national title tallies (i.e. the Greengrocer Poll National Champion, the Playboy Centerfold National Champion, et al). Seriously, when you live in a state where the most cosmopolitan city is Birmingham, a state where running water is a relatively new innovation, where the Dreamland Barbeque is considered haute cuisine and where the closest thing to a professional sports team is the Auburn Football Team (at least the payroll is lower now that Cam is gone), what else is there to talk about?
So, have at it. Beat up on your little brother on the Plains this weekend, then hose off the pickup, grab your houndstooth hat and overalls, and head up to the Big City next weekend to see the Tide play the Dawgs. But you’d better strap your hats on. The Dawgs are not afraid of you–not one bit.

UGA is a good team. Bama is a good team. UGA got smoked by USC. Carolina is a quality opponent, but it was beat by a large margin. Bama got smoked by A&M, but had a chance to win it at the end. (IE) did not quit when down by a large margin. Bama could have lost to LSU, but didn’t. You have to be competitive in big games to have a chance to win them. BAMA was 1-1 in those games. When is the last time UGA won a big game? Isn’t that why Richt was on the hot seat? Don’t give me the FLA game either.Florida is good but you should have beaten them. Same could be said for Bama against A&M. I hate to say it but FSU will expose Florida this weekend. In the end A&M and LSU will be ranked higher than Florida or South Carolina. Who would you rather play those 2 West teams or the 2 East teams? I rest my case. The WEST is still King till someone else proves it otherwise. Close game in the Dome: Bama 27-UGA 21.

Jamie, checking the past games to predict the future ones is a perilous path, especially when when the teams haven’t met for 4 years.
If I was a non-fan, betting man, and the line is as Chip thinks it will be, with Bama a 7 point favorite, I would take Bama. You just get what you get with Bama, every week. I just think they will be more prepared, and are pretty even top to bottom in talent, as well as (obviously), deeper.
But, UGA’s D is playing with a lot of confidence, and if Murray, who had a really good 2nd half vs UF, when the game was on the line, plays like he has since then, Bama could be in big trouble.
I believe it is true to say that right now, UGA can beat you with defense, or can get in a shootout and outscore any opponent.

All great comments guys. I have to go back to work now. See you in the Dome in 2 weeks.

Nope , nobody said losing to Fl was “acceptable”. Didn’t say anything remotely close to that.
And don’t give us that BS, that Alabama fired a coach for losing to One specific rival too many times and for no other reasons, irrespective of any other circumstances.

I have low expectations AD, but am excited by what could happen. If we give Bama a good, close game, win or lose, I won’t be on anybody’s case – that is, unless we lose the Capital One Bowl game again, to an underdog.
It is true, Bama IS the better TEAM.
But, I think UGA’s starting 22 is at least as talented as Bama’s, in a few positions, better.
What do you think?

For you to dismiss this year’s UGA-fla game as not a “big” one when fla was ranked No. 2 at the time–with Ws over SC and LSU–is laughable. You’d better awaken your case instead of resting it.
In any event, I do hope you’re right about FSU exposing the gators.

Your right on the “Cocktail Party” and FL being #2 at the time. I was wrong. They had also beaten A&M which looks great now. It will suck to beat those 3 teams and then end up losing to your 2 big rivals. It could happen with FSU in Tallahassee.

Wrong again. It’s two in a row. Like I said, not sure where you’re getting your info.
On the other hand, fla definitely has UGA’s number over the past two-and-a-third decades. Hopefully the past two years represents a turnaround for the Dawgs.

Oh I absolutely think Georgia CAN beat Alabama. I’d even go as far as saying that since its somewhere around a 40% chance………I am going ahead and expecting them to do so. Why not. You know I reserve and distribute expectations very cautiously. In this case I see no reason not to.

Bill Curry was 3-0 against both Johnny Majors and Joe Paterno. 0-3 vs Pat Dye. Coming off a 10 win season (harder back then)/co-SEC championship and just decided Kentucky was the better “fit” for him. Sure we didn’t fire him & we didn’t have too, but what carried more wieght? The record against Auburn or the records against PSU and UT? Shula was 0-4 against Tuberville and coming off a 10 win season the yr before and he got canned. He was 3 games over .500 and the sanctions had crippled the program, but we were on the upside of he probabtion at this point. Sure the other losses hurt, but an win against Auburn has to happen at some point.
In simpler terms how much fun would it have been if your direct boss or father-in-law was a Gator during the last 25 years? How many more loses do you think Dabo can take against the Visor? But if Hoke drops 3 in a row to Urban what will happen? My point was alot of coaches would not have had the opportunity to keep their jobs, right or wrong as it my be, In my opionion UGA has done a good thing by giving him the opportunity to keep his job.

Curry was at war with his boss over several items in his new contract. And that would be about as close of an example as you can come up with, but I hardly think that sets a pattern of “that’s how we do it where I’m from”. More like internal politics between some folks who are long gone.
And Shula 3 games over 500? really? .500 record? and got the program into probation. I would hardly think any Alabama fan would be braggin that the AU record is what got HIM fired.
More accurate to say that Alabama has parted ways with coaches who happen to have lost to a big rival among other things…..but not because of it. Same as every other school over time.

Jamie if your point is really that you agree with Georgia in “keeping” Richt then I guess I agree with you… The mistake most programs make is they assume they will find someone better. You went through dubose, price, franchione, and shula before you landed with Saban. UT went through Kiffin and Dooley and will be reeling for at least 2 more years… So, yes I agree with you that most programs make this mistake…

Jamie………….Bobo and Murray are 2-8 against top 25 teams until this year.
So Murray is going to more that double his win total against top 25 teams(with all 3 being top10 at the time) this year and 2 of those games will be back-to-back. Sorry i don’t see that happening. Murray and Bobo are 1-1 this year against top 25 teams and now Pad My Stats (against crappy teams)Murray is going to beat 2 top 5 teams?
I have to keep repeating that cause I don’t get where people see that happening.
It could happen but I wouldn’t TAKE IT TO THE BANK or BET THE HOUSE.

Timeout, if your premise were fact, that because Bobo and Murray are blah, blah, blah vs top teams, that they will ALWAYS be precisely that, then nobody would ever beat anybody that they hadn’t beaten before!
Bama should beat UGA. I agree. But it has nothing to do with what has happened previously.
Payton Manning should have never won a Super Bowl, because he had never won a Super Bowl?
How damn stupid is that reasoning?

Let’s be realistic for a moment UGA fans.
1) Notre Dame will not be losing to USC. They are too good.
2)Will use Stats for this season that are up to date since it is the only facts to go by:
Alabama is ranked #2 in total defense, Notre Dame #6 and UGA #20.
Georgia is ranked #25 in total offense, Alabama #44 and Notre Dame #50
ND will beat USC
UGA should beat GT
ALA will beat AUB
ALA vs UGA = Too close to call. Depends on who shows up
ND vs UGA/ALA = Too close to call. Low scoring game. Will be fun to watch! No team will dominate, it will be back and forth with the defenses keeping offenses in check. 1 or 2 big plays will make the difference with a field goal winning the game.

It’s funny how all these bulldog fans are lying to
Themselves saying they could beat bama. “Oh Florida beat A&M and A&M beat bama and Georgia beat florida so obviously Georgia is better” 1. When A&M played Florida Manziel was still in his first few games as a freshman, not comparable to how he is now. 2. Murray threw three interceptions against Florida. If he did that against bama, McCarron and
Company would tear that defense up. 3. “The Georgia defense is better than bamas” it’s funny, I remember south Carolina score 35 against Georgia…When was the last time bama was beaten that badly? 4. These running backs are in no way better than lacy and yeldon. 5. Mr Richt and crew can never win the big game. He will be out coached by a far superior Nick Saban. Bama will roll all over the dawgs! ROLL TIDE ROLL!
