ATHENS – The “Boss” of Georgia’s offensive line was named offensive lineman of the week on Monday.

David Andrews, who has been nicknamed “Boss” since his youth football days in Atlanta, played like a man in charge in Georgia’s 38-0 win over Auburn this past Saturday. Andrews, a 6-foot-2, 295-pound sophomore from Johns Creek, graded out 88 percent and recorded six “dominator” blocks and three knockdowns. He anchored a line that helped the  Bulldogs roll up 497 yards against the Tigers and limited them to only one sack of quarterback Aaron Murray.

Murray passed for 208 yards and three touchdowns and tailbacks Todd Gurley and Keith Marshall each rushed for more than 100 yards in the win, which clinched the SEC Eastern Division title. Much of Andrews’ good work came against fellow Georgians Jeff Whitaker and Gabe Wright.

Andrews is a first-year starter who was replacing four-year starter Ben Jones on Georgia’s offensive line.

I have had the pleasure of getting to know the Andrews family and I can assure you that they are a class act. As for Nate the Great, he is at best very misinformed. The players’ families sit together at every home game and last year’s Auburn game was a home game. There’s NO WAY you sat anywhere near the real Mr. Andrews. I took the high road in my defense and I didn’t say what I really think of your post and I suggest you do the same and apologize to the real Mr. Andrews.

Who replaces Chizik will be key to Aubarn holding their commits. Charlie Strong is a name that has come up. Reuben Foster, Dee Liner and others are looking around. Saban has been working on Foster overtime and Garner was at Foster’s game friday night in Alabama. Turman will be a big physical power runner that UGA needs down the road. Derrick Henry got to watch A&M physically whip Bummer saturday night he he will be watching UGA do the same in the Dome. Will Tunsil talk him in to flipping to the SEC champ Dawgs?

If Reuben Foster flips to UGA or Bummer does he have to give back the Escalade?

Jeff Andrews,

I did meet you for the first half of the game. I left at half time because you suck and made more than a few jackass comments to me. I would love to swing by section 131 and let you remember. You are such a jerk and you remember me well enough to make some comments to my friends this year at the Vandy game. We can meet any time you want Jeff.

I do appreciate your son and his accomplishments and hardwork, and in a way you for raising him right and giving him the good genes to at at such a high level. All that said, I still think you are a pompous jerk

Actually you two, Rascaldawg and Billy Jack, are 100% correct. I’m really in the wrong here stating my negative opinions on Mr. Andrews Sr. I do apologize to Mr Andrews Jr and Sr for being childish and not voicing my opinion in a more appropriate forum.

I apologize for my act not my opinion.

More on point: Thank You David for taking a perceived weakness preseason and making it look extremely strong the last two games. Close strong and keep doing what you’re doing!!

GO DAWGS!!

You think someone calling herself “Nate the Great” is for real? I somehow doubt it but nice try at offending one of our up-and-coming players. No one’s graduating from the O line this time around, either.

“… a man should be allowed to do what he wants with his own money.”

Tell that to the UGA players. Most of them voted for Obama.
