The Georgia-Georgia Tech football game on Nov. 24 will kick off at noon, the SEC said today.
The game, in Athens, will be televised by ESPN.
CBS chose the Alabama-Auburn game for its 3:30 p.m. SEC telecast on Nov. 24.

The jerseys could look like those Steelers uniforms except the stipes would be black and silver. Oh, and the fans should all wear bulldog costumes. It would be awesome! Just think about how much it would change the game. We would definitely win. Who cares about tradition. Let’s wear a different uni every game because it really does have a positive impact on the outcome of the game. It is such a great idea. We need different uniforms to get pumped up for the game.

Man, that sux. Given the traffic up there for this game, to get to Athens by 10 am I’ll have to leave Marietta at 8am at the latest. Then its too early to get tanked. This year’s home schedule was without a doubt the worst in my years of tickets..and that goes back to 1975. Awful. We were lucky that somehow Vandy and Fla Atlantic got on ngiht but the games were boring.

As a UGA alumnus, I truly want to remove GT from our annual schedule. It’s nice finishing every regular season with a win, but to have a truly competitive rivalry game would be great. Maybe we can put them back on the schedule once they quit running a gimmicky offense and recruit some real athletes.
Quick question for all the hot shot GT fans, don’t you think it a little strange that people blame UGA foe the top talent leaving the state? No body considers you a real player any more. Hate GT, i was at that game and remember it very well. I like to think that we lost that game because Alabama in 2008 was begining to click under Nick Saban, not the color of our uniforms. I also remember what happened v Auburn in 2007 and yes, Boise in 2011. i dont think that the 2012 Yellow Jackets really compare to those teams and that is my point – lets wear alternate uniforms for the lesser game of the year. makes Nike happy, recruits love it, and the team loves it. only people who dont are older alums….

I truly think both fan bases act like fools for this game when they are the home team.
Been harassed so many times at Bobby the Dud field it is insane. You don’t want anything to escalate in Atlanta because they will threaten to throw you in the Fulton county slammer which would be no picnic for a college football fan.
I have also witnessed our fans being a-holes in Athens to Tech fans. Pretty bad and just classless. I find it to be so annoying.

It’s weird, 10 of 11, brcause Georgia fans I’ve sat next to in Athens have always been kind. We rooted for our teams and had fun. Only issue I have had is with a Georgia fan last year, but he was hammered. I only took offense because he didn’t share his Maker’s.

People, Richt will not blow out tech. Tech hangs around for every game and that could come back to bite us one year. Coaching will be key to that week with Bama coming up the following week. It’s been too easy for this team the past couple of years to look ahead. They need to go into like the Auburn game and put it away early. I still don’t expect it because tech has only ONE game to get up for all year and we are it. If we can beat Florida tech could beat us. Nothing is ever a given.

Before the SEC expanded along with the SEC schedule, the best rivalry game of the year for Georgia was Clemson. Now that was a good competitive game every year. UGA should drop the boring Tech game and go back to an annual game with Clemson. Way more fun. Clemson also has a real stadium, too. And you didn’t have to worry about getting mugged walking to the stadium gates.

I love it when Georgia has a black out because it look so ugly on T.V. White out looks great at Penn State but a black out looks ugly. BTW….the reason that you won’t play in the BCS National Championship is that you were dismantled by Gamecocks on national television, you struggled against Kentucky and barely beat Gators who almost lost to ULL. Should be a pretty good game. Assuming an automatic win by UGA is just what GT wants to hear. UGA should win, but still got to play the game. Believe GT will score, but the GT defense will not be able to stop UGA unless UGA turns the ball over multiple times as in the 45-42 loss a few years ago.

spider……….the visiting team of a 2 confernce game does not meam that the visiting school will use their conference officials. Many times it is a 3rd (neutral) conference officials that call the game It all dependes on the contract. You had better hope the officials dont’ call illegal blocks on the GT team because our Dawgs also use the ‘cut block’ too! They just don’t use it all the time like GT. And you do know that the ‘cut block’ is a legal play, don’t you?

Athens is continually voted as one of the best places to see a ballgame every year. I’m not sure what national broadcast team you’re refering to but I read recently where Vern Lundquist and Keith Jackson, both men who have seen ballgames at venues all over the country, said that Sanford Stadium and Athens, GA make for the best game day experince they have ever experienced. Also Boise State didn’t play us in Athens you worm. We played them in the GA Dome. Do you even have a clue what you’re talking about?
I wouldn’t expect a group of people who leave totally disappointed every time they come to understand. But then again every geek is entitled to their opinion.

When are the pollsters going to wake up to the hype of UGA football. Year in and year out they’re a “Elite” Top 10 team. While Bama, LSU, Auburn, Gators and Vols have all won national championships in “modern times” Georgia’s one and only was 32 years ago. They dropped Bama this year and got dismantled by Cocks. Barely beat UF who only beat ULL by 7. And why are they ranked in Top 5? More hype…..play somebody that matters for a change if you’re such an “Elite” program.

Hard to say Vad Lee is a “legitimate passing threat” until he’s played an actual defense. I prefer Tech play him over Washington, our defensive backfield will have a field day with his wounded duck passes.
The option is far more dangerous than an inexperienced passing quarterback. The less chance we give our linebackers and safeties to over pursue and miss tackles, the better.
