About Mississippi

Record: 5-3, 2-2 SEC

Last time played: Georgia defeated Ole Miss 27-13 in Oxford last season.

Offense: Ole Miss has a balanced, up-tempo offense that ranks fifth in the SEC in passing, sixth in rushing and sixth in scoring. Sophomore quarterback Bo Wallace completed 29 of 37 passes for 278 yards and ran for 38 yards in last week’s 30-27 win over Arkansas. Running back Jeff Scott, a 5-foot-7, 170-pound junior, ranks fifth in the SEC with 87.4 rushing yards per game. Wide receiver Donte Moncrief is sixth in the SEC in receiving yards (67.5 per game). Randall Mackey, who moved from quarterback to wide receiver in the spring and added running back to his portfolio this fall, made his first start at receiver last week and caught seven passes for 99 yards.

Defense: Ole Miss ranks ninth in the SEC in total defense, rushing defense and passing defense. Redshirt freshman linebacker Denzel Nkemdiche, from Grayson, leads the team in tackles, tackles for loss, forced fumbles and interceptions. The Rebels rank third in the SEC with 7.5 tackles for loss per game.

Special teams: Kicker Bryson Rose was named the SEC special-teams player of the week for his performance against Arkansas (3-for-3 on field goals, including a 31-yard game-winner and a 53-yarder). Punter Jim Broadway’s father punted for UGA.

What you should know: Ole Miss has won back-to-back SEC games for the first time since 2009, beating Auburn and Arkansas the past two weeks. The win over Auburn snapped a 16-game conference losing streak by the Rebels, who now are within one victory of becoming bowl-eligible for the first time since 2009.

Coach: Hugh Freeze is in his first season at Ole Miss. He was 30-7 in college head-coaching jobs at Lambuth and Arkansas State.

We are trying to redshirt Hutson. So he can play 2 more years. I watched Brice play last nite on ESPNU. He looked pretty good & so did JJ. Brice has a real good arm & JJ returned a kick for a long gain. He’s quick & strong. It was a game between 2 undefeated teams for the region. On Ole Miss we are with in striking distance of a lot of things here. WE just need to show up like we did last week. Murray has got to follow what he has been coached to do & we will be all right. We put together 10 straight last year I don’t see any reaso we can’t do it again !! This is a stronger team than last year. JUST feed Gurshall & keep the ball away from their fast pace offense & everything will be OKAY !! LET THE BIG DAWG EAT

this will be fun because Ole Miss will score some points and the “hurry up” should make it exciting… Dawgs depth should prevail.. Junkyard defense .. run the ball and throw short passes to the TE’s to control the clock.. Go all the way Dawgs.. one game at a time !!
