Bulldogs need ‘more of same’ to beat Ole Miss and make Florida win stand up

ATHENS — Georgia’s 17-9 win over Florida on Saturday was impressive on multiple levels. The Bulldogs overwhelmed the Gators defensively, got timely plays in the running and passing games against one of the nation’s best defenses and scored an elusive victory over a Top 3 opponent.

But it will all be for naught if Georgia can’t close the deal the next two weeks. Yes, the Bulldogs (7-1, 5-1 SEC) are in the driver’s seat in the SEC East. But a loss to Ole Miss this Saturday or to Auburn the next week would make for a gnarly wipeout.

“(The Florida) victory doesn’t mean anything unless we keep winning,” Georgia coach Mark Richt said Sunday. “We know we’ve got to win. We know we’ve got to continue to play like we did this last game to give us the best chance.”

All Georgia did Saturday was give itself the tiebreaker over Florida should both teams finish the season with one SEC loss. South Carolina, which beat the Bulldogs 35-7 on Oct. 6, has since lost two games. Simply put, Georgia has to win out.

Enter Ole Miss, a name that might have brought forth a snicker in recent years but shouldn’t now. The Rebels are in the midst of a turnaround under first-year coach Hugh Freeze. After losing 16 consecutive SEC games over the past two seasons, Ole Miss (5-3, 2-2) just won its second in a row, 30-27 over Arkansas at War Memorial Stadium in Little Rock.

Afterward the last-second win, Ole Miss players were talking a lot about “believing” and “winning out,” and they’re excited about testing themselves against a Top 10 team on the road.

“We’re just getting better and better every day,” Ole Miss wide receiver Randall Mackey told reporters. “We’re trying to go to a bowl game and that’s the main thing. But we’re trying to win out.”

Richt spent Sunday afternoon watching video of the Rebels and he can understand their confidence.

“They’ve got every reason to believe they can win out,” richt said. “They’ve got a really good team. They very easily could have won the (Texas) A&M game and it’d be three games (in a row) that they’ve won. That’s what happens when you start tasting success. You get excited and start believing and that’s what’s happening right now. When a team has a lot of momentum, they’re hard to beat.”

If Georgia is to maintain its own momentum, it will need to generate a defensive effort similar to the one it displayed in Jacksonville. The Rebels come into Saturday’s game averaging 32.4 points and 430 yards offense a game and the 6-foot-5, 210-pound quarterback Bo Wallace has proved masterful at executing Freeze’s fast-tempo, spread attack. Wallace, a junior college transfer, has passed for 1,649 yards and 10 touchdowns and is an elusive runner as well.

Florida’s Jeff Driskel brought similar attributes into this past Saturday’s game and was sacked five times and committed four turnovers. The Bulldogs need more of the same this week.

“We should have been playing like this all year,” said outside linebacker Jarvis Jones, who accounted for 13 tackles, four sacks, two fumble recoveries and forced two other fumbles. “We just have to give everything we have in every game.”

This past Saturday’s ferocity may be tough to duplicate. On Sunday Richt called it “one of the most intense games I’ve ever coached from start to finish.” Georgia was penalized 14 times for 132 yards and Florida 10 for 95, many of those of the personal foul variety.

“You want intensity but you want intensity with discipline,” Richt said.

NOTES: Richt did not have an update on starting fullback Merritt Hall, who sprained an ankle on Georgia’s first offensive play against Florida and did not return. “We’re hopeful,” he said of Hall returning this week. But Richt praised Zander Ogletree was a “mistake-free” game filling in for Hall. . . . Richt confirmed reports that the Bulldogs prayed as a team after the Florida game for South Carolina tailback Marcus Lattimore, who suffered a horrific knee injury on Saturday. . . Richt said he heard but hadn’t seen anything on the pregame skirmish that resulted in Florida strength coach Jeff Dillman shoving a Georgia player. “I’m not really worried about that right now,” he said. . . . CBS picked up Saturday’s game for a 3:30 p.m. kickoff. . . . Georgia moved up to No. 6 in the USA today/Coaches  and Harris polls and 7th in The Associated Press rankings.

If a UGA kid was shoved by a Florida coach, then the SEC should investigate. They went Over board with CTG’s throat slice move to the Gator kicker two years ago.

Let us see if they do pursue that shove in context of the film.

UGA owns Florida. Always has, always will. Look at the record. 23 years lately, just does not make a rivalry. Florida, even with the last 23 years, KNOWS WELL that UGA STILL owns them.

It is B-S… bovine excrement but the truth is that ESPN will NOT allow the Dawgs into the BCS championship game even if they beat Alabama in the SEC champ game.

It is literally, a crime, to have this game controlled by a network and sports writers who never set a foot in the game.

We need a congressional investigation of the BCS and ESPN’s control of the college game.

Murray did have a tough game but he pulled it together and got the ball to Mitchell for a big touchdown. The defense was awesome. And the special teams did some really good stuff on kickoffs. Kudos to the whole team for a great game!!!!

These players need to continue to hold each other accountable for lack of intensity, mistakes and training throughout the remainder of the season. True, it would be hard to play with the level of intensity that they had yesterday in every game but we all know that they are capable of playing at a higher standard than they have in certain games this year and anything less than utmost capacity shouldn’t be tolerated by the leaders on this team. Typically, it’s the coaches who lay it down but obviously not for this program.

I think (and hope) that the defense took a big step in maturing as a unit yesterday.

The offense needs to get it together this week. The line did a great job of rush and pass blocking and is starting to play as a unit. I don’t guess that Murray will ever check down his progressions when under pressure but it “is what it is”. Man, he makes some dumb decisions sometimes.

I’m watching the BCS standings show and can’t believe that UF only dropped to 7th, I was thinking 9th. UGA at 6th, was hoping 5th.

Great win by the Dawgs. Made my day for sure. Now let’s keep up the intensity and win out. I partially agree with Mike Franklin above. UGA WILL NOT be in the BS championship game regardless of how they finish. I told my dad at the beginning of the year of my night-mare scenario: Dawgs finish 11-1 and beat a #1 ranked LSU in the SECCG. Bama, with 1 loss (to LSU), jumps ahead of UGA into the BSNC. After all, Bama is the “media” darling as usual. We ALL remember 2007 and lawyer Kirk Herbstriets comments (I call him a lawyer because he reminds me of a DA). His logic to exclude UGA in 07 somehow did not apply to Bama in 2011. So, regardless of how the DAWGS finish this year, I do not expect them to make it to Miami for all the marbles. Even if we are fortunate enough to win out, we still have KState, ND, and Oregon ahead of us (LSU & Bama play each other, so one should drop below us). While I despise Kiffin, I suppose I will now temporarily become a USC fan, at least when they play Oregon and ND. But I am sure even if USC wins a close one against the Irish, Herbstreit, Holtz and the boys will find a way to push then into the BSCG ahead of the DAWGS. So let’s just be happy for the 2 game win streak over the Gators and continue to support the DAWGS.

OK Florida did help us out but most of those mistakes were created by our defensive play. Several things are mitigating against UGA being an elite team at the moment. Poor quarterback play in big games and lack of discipline. Both are well known perpetual problems. Odds are somewhere along the way they will cost us a winnable game. Apparently nothing Murray does can get him out of a game and all the trash talking and classless taunting is acceptable to the coaches. Holding Mitchell out for one play …. now that’s how you send a message.

Flat Out Flat:
“If Dawgs win out & beat Bama they will play for NC”

Yes, you are correct.
Does this program, coaches, team and fanbase realize the enormity of that statement? I know that we all understand how difficult it is under ideal conditions to make it to the NC game and this program under Richt’s tenure has come close only to be overlooked but think about, from here on out all this team has to do is win out which is very doable and more than likely meet Bama (they will beat LSU) and beat them in the SEC championship game and they would go to the big dance. The Tide is a machine but they are not invincible.

This team truly holds it’s own destiny and should make all of their teammates aware of that after every rep in practice and during the games.

Feeling a little thirsty, think I’ll go make some berry flavored Kool-aid, I just hope that I don’t throw it up again like I did a couple of weeks ago.

Don’t look past Mississippi. Defense played great against Florida, but their offense hasn’t put up great numbers all year. The intensity was great from the players and coaches. Appeared as though the defensive coaches actually had a game plan for Florida and they read their mail all night. The offense struggled against a great defense, but put up enough points to pull it out. Mark May said that this is a team that has been up and down all year. You never know who is going to show up to play. Time to continue to prove the naysayers wrong. Great the Rebels in Athens with a chip on your shoulder and continue the march to Atlanta. Go Dawgs! The only game UGA needs to worry about is Ole Miss. These guys have to be in a one game at a time mindset, or they will lose one of the games. A side note. I have to believe that they defense that Fla put up is the best which we have seen so far. IF the offense clicks, If the defense sticks, we will win this weekend. Time for the D to keep performing up to the standards which they have again set.

I’m always in the best mood on Sundays when the dogs play great defense. I can even take losses better when hard hitting defense is played. When Jarvis Jones is at full speed, no defensive player in America does what he does; not Clowney, Manti Teo, Texas A&M sack man etc…
On offense, I think Ken Malcome could have helped a little bit with some power running. I would have liked to see him for a few plays in the red zone.
QB Murray means well and tries hard; He had receivers open on his picks – he just panicked and missed them.

2). Haven’t beat Ole Miss Yet

3). Haven’t beat Auburn on the Road yet

4). Haven’t made the nerds pay yet

5). Don’t even want to think about Bama yet.

6). Season is shaping up like ‘07

7). Dawgs could beat Bama. Maybe(if Bama wins west, if Georgia wins east, if Georgia plays lights out, etc… If… too many if’s to talk about today… that game is a long way off yet.)

8). Likely scenarios could exclude Georgia from BCS title game, even IF all above scenarios pan out well for Dawgs. Notre Dame plays nobody else except SC. KState… Not sure anyone on their schedule can beat them. Maybe they choke the Big 12 championship? Oregon.. See Notre Dame. Only chance for a loss is SC. Don’t see it happening.

9). So… DAWG FANS- focus on 1 goal at a time. Beat Miss, Beat Auburn. Win SEC east. Win state championship against southern and tech. See what happens.. Take care of business and be proud the boys have things to play for, starting Saturday at home vs. Ole Miss

You are right, they probably will not beat Ole Miss. playing like they did against Florida. They will slaughter them, if they play that way again. If UGA’s defense shows up like they did against Florida, Ole Miss. will not see the end zone.
The sloppy football as you call it, was the result of a pretty good Florida defense, but the UGA defense caused a lot more problems for Florida than Florida caused for UGA.
UGA found a way to win and showed they are a decent team when they play with intensity and stay aggressive. Ole Miss. has one quality win if you want to count the win over a very poor Arkansas team as a quality win. They have been crushed by the good teams they have played in the SEC and they are coming to UGA’s house.

I’d be more impressed with Florida’s big win over LSU if LSU hadn’t finished 12-10 against Auburn the previous week. LSU has been decimated by losses to injury, suspension and academic ineligibility. They may recover as the season progresses, but they were not a very good team when they lost to Florida. Florida is highly overrated and that game in Jacksonville was the worst football that I’ve ever seen played by two supposedly Top 10 teams.

So, rest on your laurels and don’t worry about some little football team from Mississippi. We’re good with you guys having that attitude. See ya in Athens!

No. But you learn from your mistakes and move on. UGA is doing well these days and doing the right things. Slip ups (SC game) happen, but I support UGA through it all. Great game, finally GA rolled up their sleeves and punch a bulley right back in the mouth. We are going to kill Ole Miss, we might start off sloppy on defense but on offense we should roll. A. Murray will bounce back. To me defense get all the praise, offense did not do nothing, so this week they would work hard on offense to help the defense after a emotional game.

And right there is why we will be lucky to escape with a win. It’s stupid statements and thinking like that which gets you beaten. Thousands, including the team most of the time, pay no attention to the details and the effort and the laser beam-like focus that it takes to succeed in sports.

We’ll come out Saturday flatter than a possum on 441 and will be very, very fortunate to escape with a win. Mark it down.

If LSU had a dependable QB, they would be right there with Alabama. You can’t discount their defense, so Florida did a good job against them. LSU might still give a good game against Alabama if their QB can actually do the job. They still have a good ground game but teams have been able to focus on the running game, because they didn’t have to fear the QB.
Even if UGA has a little emotional let down after beating Florida it will not be enough for Ole Miss. to stay with UGA. I am not worried about the remaining two SEC contest, but am more worried about keeping the players healthy and rested as much as possible for the post season games like the SECCG and hopefully a good bowl game.

Hotty… stop making excuses for your SECw bretheren. I’ll give you one to ponder…. UGA beat UF, who beat LSU, who beat South Car. who beat UGA. Can wer add another team to this merry-go-round ?
Here is reality…. if we (Dawgs) play like we did against Florida, we will win by 20+. If we play like we did against UK (and others) it will be too close for comfort. Auburn, while a train wreck will give us their best shot (or second best shot – saving their best shot for Bama), and of course Techs season would be made if they knocked us off.
As far as SECCG, that is a ways off and assuming we win out – not certain it will be Bama waiting for us (money says it will be Bama, but funny things happen in night games at LSU….). Personally I think we would have a better shot at beating LSU than Bama – Bama does everything well that we dont do well, and as soon as you make a mistake, they pounce.
Now, lets take it one step further… lets say we win out and win SEC (against whoever). I agree with some previous posters that we do NOT get a shot at Miami because of they way we lost to South Carolina. If it had been a close game, maybe if there was only one (or none) undefeated teams. But 35-7 will kill any chances (remember last year… Bama and Okie Lite. Bama lost a close one to LSU, Okie Lite lost to Iowa State – they were done. The same would happen to us in that scenario).

@RedandBlackDAWG

You obviously don’t follow SEC football very carefully. LSU lost to Florida and almost lost to Auburn because their offensive line was devastated. As if the injuries weren’t bad enough, they had already lost several starters to suspension and academic ineligibility. Yes, their new QB has been somewhat of a flop too.

Any way you look at it, you simply can’t explain LSU’s lousy performance against an Auburn team that had to go to OT to get their only win — against LA Monroe. That said, I do expect LSU to play their best game of the season next weekend.

I see the Dawgs winning against Ole Miss. I think our offense will be too much for their D. I’m not making any calls on the D because I haven’t seen them play two good ballgames back to back this year. I wouldn’t be surprised if they came out a smacked Ole Miss however.
The Bama-LSU game is huge. If LSU wins then the Dawgs chances of a BCS title shot are dead. Only beating a #1 would overcome the 1 loss. It will be the toughest game Bama has had all year and I wonder how they will handle it. It’s in Baton Rouge and that adds plenty to LSU’s side of the ledger. We’ll see.
The Dawgs need a new motto. “It’s no fun to play half-heartedly.” You would think they would be addicted to the awesome feeling that giving your all and winning brings. But human beings are by nature lazy…we always seek the path of least resistance. Someone needs to challenge their manhood again every week until playing with that level of intensity is a habit. But not the coaches. The kids will blow that off. No someone outside the program needs to bait them. We know now that they DO see, hear and read what is said about them. Maybe David Pollack could say something that would fire them up. Something like “we all know the Florida game was a fluke, these guys will throw their jocks on the field and expect to beat Ole Miss…” Something that continues the soft narrative.
Welll it’s just a thought…

I agree with JB. Why the hell do we need anything to get our team up to play a football game. We shouldn’t need a D player calling out his teammates for the lack of effort, or special jerseys, or what not. We should be able to go out and kick arse like it is routine business for us. SHould play a full 60 minutes with every single effort to stop the other team and on offense to score as many points as possble. It would be nice to see that every game no matter the opponent. When we don’t play like that we end up with Ole Miss fans coming on here running smack.

…if KState and Oregon or ND win out, too…

K State goes if they win out, however Oregon and ND both could be leap frogged by a one loss UGA if we were to knock off the undisputed #1 team in the country as a top 5 team. Both Oregon and ND’s SOS took a huge hit with USC losing again. Now if Oregon beats them and ND they will be a 4 loss team, most likey out of the top 25 and it would be a hit to two already weaker schedules. To help our cause we would also need UF and SC to win out. Oregon has looked impressive but there’s a reason why they are #2 in the polls but are #4 in the BCS calculations. Ore St losing hurt as well.

Besides a LOT of football left to be played. Between KState , Ore, and ND only two of the 3 need to drop a game for us to control our own destiny. Ask UF fans, in 06, they needed 4 of 5 teams to lose over the last 2 weeks and it happened. We still have 4-5 weeks of ball left.

I smell a trap game with ND and Pitt this weekend.

@ SEC FAN

If you don’t think ESPN influences the polls you’re high as a kite.

Journalists are lazy, the coaches poll is done by grad assistants. Where exactly do you think they get their info from to vote on the polls each week? You honestly don’t think these guys sit around and watch EVERY SINGLE GAME do you?
The ESPN/ABC family of networks broadcasted every single bowl game last year except the Sun Bowl.
Look no further than last years Heisman race. They limited highlights of RG3, and actually gave Saban and Richardson nearly 20 mins of air time to make a case for why he should win the Heisman. Why?! Because they KNEW Bama had punched it’s ticket to the big dance and wanted to have a championship game featuring a Heisman Trophy winner. Good for ratings which is good for ad dollars.
ESPN will ALWAYS push the agenda when there is something to be gained or lost for their networks.
This is why it’s a shame that no one ever had a successful run at putting on a competing network. It’s too late now. CNN has CNBC and Fox News. ESPN has no credible counterpart. They are the Wal-Mart of sports broadcasting.

And 3 weeks ago Geno Smith had the Heisman sewn up and WV’s offense was unstoppable.

Any given Sat my friend. Besides Bama hasn’t truly been tested. Look at LSU last year people were saying the exact same thing about them, they beat what 6 top 25 teams, 4 of the top 10 at one point. And lost the rematch against Bama. Don’t get me wrong they are very good and very impressive but much like Oregon, who have they really played?
They beat an overrated Michigan, and an overrated Miss St (take a look at their schedule), the rest of their schedule has been, Arkansas, West. Kentucky, Florida Atlantic, Ole Miss, Missouri and Tenn.

Here are the common opponents and the results, other than Tenn, not far off.

Bama vs FL Atlantic 40-7
UGA vs FL Atlantic 56-20

Bama vs Ole Miss 33-14
UGA vs Ole Miss TBD

Bama vs Missouri 42-10
UGA vs Missouri 41-20

Being undefeated doesn’t guarantee a spot in the NC game. You have to beat somebody. Fla. was for real, they beat SC & LSU & TA&M. They deserved being #2. The Dawgs are peaking at the right time. “It’s not how you start, it’s how you finish!”
If we get to play and beat the #1 team in the country, I don’t care who they pick to play the NC game. We will have beaten the legitimate #1 & #2 teams in the country. What more do we have to prove? They will never be able to take that away from us. All I ask is that even if we lose to LSU OR Bama, that we play close and don’t get blown-out again this year. Richt has to bring the same intensity to the rest of our games that remain. One game at a time…

Murray further proved he’s not a big game player.Get comfy cause he’s coming back next year.
Gurley is a beast.

I witnessed the Florida’s S&C coach shoving episode. He was trying to keep the Georgia players away from the Florida players, but he should not have put his hands on them. I am sure Muschamp will address (or has) the issue with him, and I am positive he will not do it again….if he wants to keep his job. I think he was too fired up himself…and he is one very, very strong dude. But you simply cannot put your hands on the other team’s players….period. I would expect he will be disciplined (privately) and it might cost him some money and some time off the football field.

The old Murray was all over the first half in Jacksonville; panic, poor decisions and turnovers. Then in the second half he seemed to realize that if he was playing just to not make mistakes the defense and our running back’s would take care of the rest. Then that success will open up the passing game.
I think the defensive stars who will go Pro realized that they had only a few more games to impress the scouts or they were going to lose millions in the upcoming draft because of their poor play this year. I hope they are back on track and will finish out the season as one of the best. That being said I also hope that Murray has finally realized that he will probably never play Pro ball because of his lack of emotional control which drives him to make very poor decisions. If he has any sense at all Murray will realize that when the defense ,receivers and running backs are all playing well that all he has to do is not make mistakes. Play like he did in the second half and Georgia will finish 11-1 and go to the SEC Championship.

Driskel threw more accurately than Murray in the game Saturday….go look at the stats…more yards….less interceptions. More 3rd down conversions passes. He did not fumble going into the end zone…but he directed the march down the field to try to tie the game. Driskel also does not block Jones while he is trying to pass. And he also ran the ball well. I think you are barking up the wrong tree with Driskel. Driskel is going to be a star in the SEC…

I know this doesn’t help because Georgia has certainly been there plenty in the last few years but Florida has been a lot more CONSISTENT this year and deserve everything they have gotten , that is why they only dropped to 7TH in the BCS. Georgia is the one that has got to prove they can put forth the same effort every week. If these two teams played 10 times back to back their record would be 5-5, with every game close. I’m just thankful that Georgia has finally started to show up. Florida will end up in the top 5.

Florida was physically beat up in every way and if our QB was on point it could have gotten really ugly.Georgia looks ready to string a few wins in Jacksonville and this game will be very exciting for years to come.I hope they never move it from Jacksonville it is very unique in college football kinda like Texas and Oklahoma.I graduated from UGA in 1985 and was at the game my senior year.UF was ranked 1 and deemed unbeatable until Georgia beat them 24-3.The coach that pushed the Georgia players should be suspended for the rest of the year and he is very lucky Todd Granthem didnt get to him before order was restored.

Hope that UGA turned a corner with that great D effort on Sat. They have to do at least 2 things much better to continue the run:

1. Play disiplined FB (all those flags aren’t going to cut it).

2. Murray has to stop trying to fit in passes between 3 defenders. He was a lot better in the 2nd half when he went to the sideline with 1-on-1 coverage.

NCDawg

October 29th, 2012

Just something for the folks that are still ragging on Bobo about his play calling. He calls a play but Murray can check out of it at any time. He is given that much latitude. Personnel packages and general formations are called from the booth but Murray can check into many different plays at the line. Bobo never throws Aaron under the bus but you can bet that a pretty decent percentage of plays end up not being what was called. And that an equally decent percentage of plays that are bad are from check downs.
We ran the ball pretty well against a stout run defense and struggled to throw against that mass coverage. Other teams may try that too. We need our TE’s to produce more. Hell I’d line up Rome in the slot and dare defenses to try to cover him with a DB. He can be out there to block downfield on run plays too. Whatever the case we need to expect that from teams with good D – lines.

Even though University of South Carolina will be watching someone else playing for the SEC Championship we will enjoy the fact that we have a 3 year consecutive run over Georgia. The 35-7 game was especially sweet with a National TV audience and Game Day. Those pictures of Clowney throwing the Georgia QB like a rag doll for the past two year are indicative of the fun. I know, I know…. you will beat the crap out of SC next year, your QB gave the game away, your defense was asleep…..Doesn’t matter, you couldn’t get it done over South Carolina in 2012!

Murray's mechanics, when setting up

October 30th, 2012
8:40 am

Murray throws bad balls because he is rushed and does not set his feet. His pics in the Florida game including the tipped ball, all came as a result of poor footbwork.
I reviewed the game and it was so clear. Where are the UGA coaches on this?

Murray is not in the game mentally and his footwork reveals that.

His one good toss was a TD and made possible by MM coming back for the ball and then, great running toward the end zone.

Though we may possibly win out the rest of our games , i think our schedule will hurt us for any type of BCS. Instead we should just focus on the task at hand with the 3 remaining games we have left and let the pollsters do the rest.
Win the East Bulldogs 1st, then worry about the SEC Championship later and then the bowl game in janurary.
The SEC Championship may pin you up against the No.#1 ranked team and that will be your BCS Championship game.
You can have a phenominal year or you can go down in flames.Concentrate on whats ahead and not on hte what-ifs in life.

Bulldogs have found their MOJO and now they see what its like to come together as a Defense.
Play the rest of the way and you’ll go somewhere dawgs.
Talk amongst eachother and set goals for each game whether it be not allowing a team 100 yds rushing, 1st downs or getting to the RED ZONE.
Challenge eachother and dont be afraid to call someone out.
Our Defense is the heart and soul of our Georgia Team and they dictate the game from the start.
Lay some wood on people from the get-go and theyll be afraid to catch the ball or run it.
Thats what i saw last week in florida……gators hurt on the field, a QB scared to take the ball because he knew he was gonna get hit.
Put fear in their minds and it wont matter what they do because they know they will pay once they cross that yard marker.
I dont want to see anymore sissy football from the past defensive performances of the past. Hit , grab and take them down instead of hitting and not wrapping up an opponent.

Jimmy Garrison Smith should have started all year. He was great filling in last year for DeAngelo Tyson. He is disciplined and plays his spots which is immensely important considering The amount of playmakers who take chances. This is also why we have given up big plays. The Dogs could give Alabama a real game of it – should we make it there and all that – and you guys could, and likely will, get beat by FSU. Then we’ll see which team is the higher rated when it comes to the BCS selection. Frankly, Georgia would have the more attractive team – potential top NFL draft pick, Gurshalls at RB, a QB that holds the record for TD passes at Georgia, a defense that’s finally living up to it’s preseason billing, a wide receiver corps that’s as good, top to bottom, as any in the Conference, etc…and what’s Florida got of note – other than all those TV common-taters that went there and keep beating their drums for you guys and a head coach that routinely makes the highlights with his tirades and antics (whatayabet rival recruiters see to it that Mommas and Daddies of kids considering Florida will get videos of Muschumps teeth-gritting, smoke coming out of nostrils, performance he pulled on one of his “charges’ Saturday? You make some good points but I think CMR should be a little more emotional like CWM when chewing out MM for getting us a 15 yd MOUTH RUNNING penalty while having only a one point lead. Sometimes you can’t help penalties for pass interference, holding, illegal procedure, etc. but the MOUTH problem is optional and should NOT be tolerated by CMR;

MM is an excellent player but he needs to pick the correct time and place and the officials had already warned BOTH teams early in the game that if they didn’t get control of their players some might get ejected.

We were extremely fortunate that MM did not get ejected or he would not have been in there to make that marvelous catch and run for a 45 yd td. He is a great player BUT you can’t have a different set of rules for certain players!!!!!!!!!

Now if you’re suggesting that Richt should act like Muschamp on the sidelines, then I suggest you stop and think about what yore saying. Muschamp has already earned the reputation of being an out-of-control idiot – he’s even said to the Florida faithful that he’s trying to tone it down – but it doesn’t seem to be working. His teeth-gritting, smoke-out-of-nostrils, fire-out-of-eyes, act Saturday made him the winner of ESPN’s ‘list’ for stupid-a$$ acts for the day. I’ll take Richt thank you…and don’t say he doesn’t show, over-the-top, emotion when it’s called for, cause we saw it Saturday. At the same time I agree that young Mr Mitchell needs to ‘cool it’, particularly when it’s obvious that the Florida kids were ‘baiting’ him…and it worked. And even CMR said that he, and the rest of the staff, were taking the ‘baiting’ into consideration Saturday. You’ve got some fired up kids that ain’t gonna take any sh*t off no damn Gators…and it cost us to the tune of 100 plus yards…and Florida almost as much.
