Georgia-Kentucky game time set

Georgia’s next football game – Oct. 20 at Kentucky – has been scheduled for a 7 p.m. kickoff, the SEC said today.

Television plans for the game won’t be set until after Saturday’s games. It will be on one of three networks: ESPN2, ESPNU or FSN.

It’ll be the fifth UGA game this season to be played at night.

CBS is holding off until after this week’s action before selecting the SEC game for its 3:30 p.m. telecast on Oct. 20. Still under consideration: South Carolina at Florida, Alabama at Tennessee and LSU at Texas A&M. ESPN will televise the two of those games not chosen by CBS, one at noon and the other at night.

Kentucky (1-5, 0-3 SEC) plays at Arkansas on Saturday. Georgia (5-1, 3-1) is off this week.

embarassed- That is the dumbest idea, I’ve heard. How about you support the team instead of just be a bandwagon fan? Only one team can win a national championship and those champs have usually lost one game. I think you’re being a little silly. Yes, I hate that we got drilled, but no one wins them all. I’m not going to just mope and gripe. If we get rid of Richt we will end up worse than TN after they got rid of Fulmer.

I can handle losing (used to it) but to come out looking like a D2 team and getting embarrassed is all about coaching or the lack of it. How can they look so bad with so much on the line? Sad, very sad!

$3.5 million is a lot for a Coach to make to not win the big ones. Love Coach Richt, but let’s adjust the pay to something more realistic and pay him for performance. Spurrier doesn’t make what he was and when he last got paid more, didn’t ask for a contract extension. Now THAT is confidence!!

In football, as in anything in life — it’s easy to be a good fan or a good friend when it’s all puppy dogs and rainbows. The true test of a fan’s mettle, or any person’s mettle is how they react when things go bad. A “fan out” is the equivalent of bailing on a friend who needs you now, more than ever. Embarrassed . . . you should be.

I’m as disappointed as anyone with the way the team played last Saturday, but I will support the team through thick and thin. I hope you bandwagon fans jump. we don’t need you. I’m taking the kids to Lexington. We will enjoy the experience, my kids will continue to learn to love the red and black, and we’ll do our best to make some noise from the Georgia corner to show our love and support for the Dawgs. As an aside, if your happiness depends on what a group of 18-22 year old kids who you will likely never meet, you may want to jump of a cliff instead of the bandwagon.

I’m embarrassed, but real Dawg fans stick by their team in good times and bad. Just remember that many teams are out of the NC race and have been embarrassed this season including: USC, LSU, Texas, Ohio State, Oklahoma, FSU, Nebraska, Michigan, etc, etc, etc. In 12 days either FL or SC will be added to the list.

The SC game was a total embarrassment. I know people are getting tired of the blame game, but this had EVERYTHING to do with Mike “the idiot” Bobo. He needs to get booted… like yesterday. The most predictable play-caller in college football. I knew SC was going to be tough and that their defense is good, but I still expected a down-to-the-wire close game. That was pathetic. They absolutely took us to school. Our talent and recruiting is way too good to be playing games like that. Give Bobo the boot. It was needed way before this game.

Hey guys, I was in attendance at Saturday’s game and yes it did hurt to see my beloved Dawgs being drilled; however, I refused to leave the game early because I’m a true fan. I was there when we Notre Dame for the National Championship, and I was there through the 10 years Goff and Dunham.

I must admitt, USC jumped on us from the start as so did their fans. Bulldog Nation and the Athletic Dept. Dir., we can learn a lot from how they do things at Carolina, they really know how to get the place rocking.

Fans, lets step it up and get behind our Dawgs, WE WILL survive this bad break and get better.

Yes disappointed but so are the players and coaching staff as they should be. Still a lot to play for and see how these young men handle real adversity. This is a life teaching experience and a gut check for the games remaining on the schedule. We have the luxury to tune in when we want to, they have to live with this butt kicking for two weeks. Support the team and let the chips fall where they may, that’s why you have Athletic directors. Btw I still support CMR but that is my personal decision to do so.

embarrassed, calling for a fanout seems a lot like NOT supporting the team. Munson would be rolling in his grave for the way a portion of the fanbase reacts when everything does not go perfectly all the time. Last Saturday sucked, and no one is happy about it. But they will suit it up in Lexington and the week after that in Jacksonville. Good crowds can only help the team play better. Winning in Jacksonville would take the sting out of this loss and could still be for the SEC East. But you’re calling for fans to stay away and listening on the radio?????? Enjoy. Alabama Dawg, you are a true idiot. First of all, that commercial was likely filmed months ago, but even if it was filmed during the week last week, who cares. It’s called “fun” and you, and several others on this board should learn to have some fun. It would make your life less miserable rolling in the sorry of a college football game outcome. I love the Dawgs, and I hate when they lose, but again, it’s about perspective.

Take this story to heart for some perspective: I was at the game Saturday, and of course disappointed from the get-go and not saying much as I was surrounded by Gamecock fans, including my gracious hosts for the game. There was a young lady (late twenties) behind me that was continually, in a kind-hearted and good spirited way, telling me it would be okay and asking if I wanted her towel to wipe my tears or become a Gamecock fan, etc….she was just having some fun, like fans should. Later in the game when this lady had stepped away from her seat for a moment, her husband leaned down to me to tell me “thanks for being a good sport and talking with his wife and ‘cutting up with her’ about the game.” He said she was having the most fun she’d had in months. Turns out she has terminal cancer and a couple of months to live. Heartbreaking.

So, moral of the story…get some perspective in your life. It’s a football game. You can’t win them all, and shouldn’t expect to. If you won them all, what fun is the journey? Once you understand this your life will be much more enjoyable, I promise.

Richt is a great man but not a great coach. It is time to find a new leader for the UGA program. 1 – 9 against top ten teams in the last four years is not acceptable for a program with UGA’s talent. The bigger problem is that we were not even competitive in the majority of those games. I will continue to support the Dawgs and could be persuaded to keep Richt with a FL victory and a convincing bowl win. The only problem is Georgia has done nothing lately to make me believe this is possible.

I think most of us are true DAWG fans and want to see UGA win every week whether it is realistic or not. I have incorrectly picked UGA to win the NC every year since 1981. I will pick them again to win it next year. In reality, all I really want ot see is my beloved Bulldawgs show up and play up to their abilities each and every week. Again, sometimes, even that is a strech. The proble i see right now, is when we the team improve. I am not giving up on them, but I would like to see improvement. Last year they lost to the 4 best teams they played. So far, they have lost to the best team they played. FL is the only scheduled team that can match up, so if they lose that, the trend continues. UGA still shows signs of greatness, but it is only for a half (LSU last year) here or a game there (Vandy this year- but they are an inferior team). I am sick of UGA being the bully of the SEC. They are great for beating up the weak and the NERDS, but run scared from the big boys. It’s time to stand up and fight!!!

I am not embarrassed… I am disappointed. I saw a team that looked flat. I do not care what Coach Richt said. We looked flat and unprepared. The first quarter the defense was looking at each other wondering who should be where. I have noticed more than once this year we have problems lining up and players missing assignments that are simple. It is like their head is somewhere else. I hope we get it straightened out. If Rambo would have held on the interception maybe the game would have been different, but if Aunt Mary had a beard she would might have been Uncle Bob. Bobo’s play calling is too predictable. You can look at the way the line lines up, the shifts and see what kind of play is being called. Mike has done a good job this year but saturday we reverted to old habits. Everyone has a bad day and unfortunately every Dawg had a bad day at the same time. The coaches need to dig deep and look at themselves as well as each player and make some adjustments. Mark Beard needs to play. Rotate and let the man play. Move Gates to guard. Let Burnette play some center and give Andrews a break from time to time. I could go on and on but I will refrain from being a armchair qb. We are half way done and now depend on Fla and SC stubbing their toe for us to get Atlanta. A lot can happen over the next few weeks. Who knows?
I am not giving up and for those of you who say you are not to going to a game you are only hurting yourself. As a player when you look up in those stands you expect to see your mom, dad, girlfriend, little sister, etc., but you also expect to see UGA fans that bleed red and black and are there to support you and support our great university. It matters to the players when they look up in those stands and see us supporting them. A true DAWG shows up win or lose. Coach Russell once said you can lead, follow or get the hell out of the way. Pouting and pointing fingers is for losers. Winners learn from their mistakes and you can learn a lot from a loss. You all can make your choice but I will be there because once a DAWG always a DAWG.

I would like to give the University of South Carolina all the credit in the world for always getting up to play the dawgs, year after year they have no problem getting ready to play us.
The fan support and crowd noise in Columbia is always incredible. We the fans of Dawg nation should strive to be as supportive as the fan base at South Carolina, their football program in no way can compare to the rich football tradition of The University Of Georgia and yet when we seem to struggle there are those so called fans of Dawg Nation that wont to start throwing coaches and players under the bus. We are better than that and there is no one more dissapointed than the UGA coaching staff and players. I would like to publicly thank those that cleaned up the mess that was made at Aaron Murray and Christian Robinsons rental house after the game Saturday night and I would also like to ask for everyone to pray for Aaron’s Dad as he begins his Cancer Treatment.

I guess if Richt was 10-1 against my school I waould want him fired too.

Hate that UGA lost Sat but in every game someones got to lose and CMR has won 111 games in 11 and 1/2 years and has a winning record against every SEC team except Florida. He has 2 or 3 times the number of wins against Florida than Goff and Donnan put together.

Most football fans have heard this quote from Bill Parcells: “You are what your record says you are.” Well the UGA record says that they are a bully and can only beat up on the weak teams, and will lay a big fat turd on national TV when someone punches them in the nose. And just like a bully when you hit them they will lay down and cry like a little girl. I for one will no longer be an enabler to such a disgusting, uninspired, unprepared effort. All of you so called “die hard” fans who claim that your team needs you now more then ever, well this rag tag bunch is all yours. But I for one will no longer buy their cheap overpriced crappy merchandise, or spend good money on gas, food, and tickets to watch such a patehic performance. As long as there is 92,000 in the stands on Saturday nothing will change.

I’ve always been a Dawg fan and I always will. Am I upset over Saturday’s loss? You bet I am.

But I’m more embarrassed by the egging and rolling of players’ apartments, asking for coaches to be fired and other unacceptable behavior. If you want to act that way, go support another team … or become a fan of college football.

Now is the time to maintain our commitment to the team, and let Murray know that we are praying for his father and family. Thirteen years ago I lost my only son to leukemia. The only thing that kept my heart and soul together was the love and support from friends, family and folks I never knew until my son became ill.

I love winning football games more than anyone I know. There comes a time, however, when games don’t matter and supporting folks when facing their worst time of their lives.

Being a fan is one thing. Being a human being is much more important!

The loss was terrible, there is no other way to look at the lack of energy at kickoff, the tail between the legs after a the first 8 minutes and the outcome…but…I love the program. I was at Mizzou, was in Athens for Tennessee and will be in Lexington this Saturday. My goal is someday to retire in GA and enjoy every home game. It does my heart a world of good seeing other staunch fans supporting, not hating. I pray for Aaron Murray’s family, Jarvis Jones health and for being a DAWG by the grace of God!

Glad your done. I do think that UGA plays the bully. I said it myself, but that doesn’t mean I will give up on them. They need a spark and if this coaching staff can’t give it to them, then they need to go, but they get a chance to right the ship. FL is the key to the season. Win that game (assuming no silly slip up) and they show improvement over last year and the ability to coach the team up during the year. Lose to FL and there are more questions that need answering

I think by now Mark Richt and staff have proven they can not coach the team or the players up. How many top ten classes have they brought in over the years? Two years ago was the Dream Team. How’s that working out so far? Muschamp has FL. going again and they will pass UGA if not this year then next. When that happens you they will be tied with TN and fighting for 3rd place in the East. And if a change is not made soon Mizzou will pass them in 5 years. Maybe then someone will be held accountable for this mess. Enjoy the rest of the season.

I have always been a Dawgs fan and will continue to be. I read on a blog CMR said that he didn”t expect SC to be that physical. I don’t know where he has been the whole season, but everyone else knew they were physical. The only thing that the SC game has shown UGA fans is that changes need to be made and that Joe T. is not getting it done in the weight room. Physically the OL and DL continue to have problems with smaller lineman that are stronger than they are. The change in the weightroom needs to come quickly, before the end of the season. The UGA boys are big, but very weak. Being a physical team is part of being an SEC team and right now, UGA belongs in the MAC.

Really hated to lose to Spurrier. He is such an arrogant a@@, but the coaches have to do a better job in game preparation and learning how to make adjustments as the game goes on. Sorry to say, Kenarious Gates has done well in previous games, but he should have been replaced and the TE and FB should have been used to help out. Why do we even have TEs when we don’t use them. TE U has vanished and that is why top rated TEs are not comitting to UGA. UGA has averaged a lot of points in the games, but couldn’t do it against a top opponent. Still goes back tothe OC and his inability to breakdown defenses and make adjustments.

To embarassed, I’m done and all the other haters, SEE YA!!!!!!!!. If anybody listened, since the beginning of the season we knew our Oline was suspect. That their would be growing pains. If i am not mistaken a lot of people said it would take the dawgs about 1- 2yrs to hit our stride. With the new recruits we have been getting and will get. Building depth. Even though our defense isn’t quite what we thought, are you going to tell me everyday in your life is perfect and that you never do anything wrong? Even computers that are programmed, have glitches. I didn’t like the beat down. I watch all the hype from the sports stations to get fans in a frenzy. Its amazing how many other teams loose that they say should win. But its bad when we as fans take it out on coaches and 18-22 year old young men. Nobody thought Arkansas would beat Auburn. My wife reminds me it’s just a game. And when you hear about A. M. dad it should put things into perspective. Just remember how long it took Dooley to win is N. Championship, and if not for H. Walker maybe, maybe not. I can see good things coming, can you? I am going to Lexington and win or lose, As a graduate school alumni, I will support the University and in this case, the players and coaches, especially when they are suffering from a humiliating defeat from a foe. By not showing up in Sanford Stadium suggests that you have an influence on the hiring and firing of a coach. How arrogant you are to assume that you have that influence. The decision makers will make their decisions regardless of whether you show up or not. The empty seats only tell the players that you do not care for them. If you are a fan, you will show up and support the team no matter what. Loyalty counts. Especially when a friend needs you the most and that is when they are down.

Anyone that thinks we’re beating Florida needs to put down the crack pipe and check themselves in to a drug treatment facility immediately. That’s all I’ve got to say. Maybe you didn’t see the Florida v. LSU game. Florida is every bit as physical up front as South Carolina. They will likely be undefeated when the play us with a lot to play for and full of confidence. Driskell is going to eat our porous Willie Martinez Version 2.0 defense alive. Our offensive line will get its jock handed to them just like they do against every good defensive front. We’re toast.

Its not just “one loss” as all you homer apologists insist. Its a pattern of losses against good teams over many many many years. And they aren’t just losses. They are usually painfully humiliating beat downs. You people are out to lunch. 2012 marks 5 YEARS IN A ROW that we have not been able to even stay on the damn field against the top teams. CMR is SOFT and GA’s football team will continue to be soft with him in charge. Clearly, many of you are fine with the way things are going. We shouldn’t be saying give him another year – we shouldn’t wait for the new recruits to start playing – always the same crap – LOOK, many of you are correct – football is only a game and the most important thing in life is your personal relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ. And, if I wanted the GA football team to have a spirtual leader CMR is the man. HOWEVER, I would like to win a NC – and unfortunately CMR is not the person who can get us there. Doesn’t mean I don’t like CMR or think he’s not a fine man. It just means he cannot take this program where it needs to go. He has had more than enough time, enough talent, and chance after chance in big games to get it done. He flat out hasn’t gotten done.

As a UGA grad I would like to say that Mark Richt is a good man and a good football coach. He can beat the mediocre teams and have 8-10 wins a year with the easy schedule we have. However, if we are to compete with the upper tier teams like Alabama,South Carolina, Fla etc. we need a new Head Coach.Coach Richt does not put a priority on recruiting on the O line. He prefers to recruit flashy running backs, WR’s etc.instead of some hosses on the O line.MIchagan State exposed our O line in the bowl game last year when they stopped about 20 or so running plays at the line of scrimmage or in the backfield.Kirby Smart would make a good Head Coach and with a good OC, I believe we could play with the top teams in a couple of years.

That type of trauma doesn`t let go in a few hours or a few days, and focusing for a big ballgame no matter how talented one normally is is impossible. So those of you inclined to throw in the towel on Ga`s season, fire everyone on the staff and start coaching yourself, why not wait and see how the rest of the season goes first.? He had a good five year run from 2002-’05 but still underachieved during that time span, choking against Tennessee in ‘04, losing to those pathetic Zook teams and getting drilled in the ‘03 championship game. He has now come full circle and returned to mediocrity. It would be hard to lose more than two games this year and he just may do it. Time for a change but it won’t come for a few more years.
