Aaron Murray focused on his father as Bulldogs put South Carolina behind them

ATHENS – When Aaron Murray tweeted Sunday, “probably the worst 12 hours of my life,” he wasn’t just talking about Saturday night’s 35-7 loss to South Carolina.

Murray found out that his father, Denny Murray, had been diagnosed with thyroid cancer. “Papa Murray,” as Aaron referred to him in another tweet, underwent surgery today at the Moffit Cancer Center in Tampa. The family reports that it went well and he is recovering.

Apparently Denny Murray had been diagnosed “a few weeks ago,” but the parents told Aaron only on Sunday. Aaron Murray and his brother drove to Tampa yesterday.

The distressing news followed a depressing Saturday night for Murray and his roommate, linebacker Christian Robinson. As revealed in a tweet from Robinson, they returned from the team’s trip to Columbia to find their rented home in Athens egged and rolled with toilet paper. “Seems that people turn on you when you’re not perfect. Thought we were in this together,” Robinson wrote.

Word is good Samaritans later cleaned up the mess.

So there’s a lot more on Murray’s mind today than the Bulldogs’ poor showing in Columbia. Please keep that in mind going forward.

I feel bad for AM today because I have had too many loved ones fall prey to cancer. A lot of good Dawg fans will be keeping your family in our prayers. And yes, sometimes there’s much more to life than wins and losses. Also glad to hear that some good folks in Athens cleaned up the mess. With that being said, I really wish CMR would show a little emotion sometimes and stick up for his own players rather than just saying “be strong and turn the other cheek”! Wish he would call for an appology if nothing else. Heck, he made Grantham apologize th James Franklin last year after the Vandy debacle. I don’t comment very much on here but I’m getting a little tired of seeing my coach stand on the sidelines looking like he took 5 valiums before the game. Its past time to see a little steam and fire coming from the top of his head!. I’ve said it all weekend, I’m tired of UGA being the “sleeping giant”! There in too much potential at UGA for us to have to watch what happens every year.

The small contingency of Mark Richt fans left hold religion higher than football. It is their only defense left “He is a good christian man”. For Jon Gruden, football is his religion.
The truth is, religion and football have nothing to do with each other…

Hirejongruden- Yeah hire him he did such a good job at Tampa. Thats why he aint there anymore. And if you can get someone to look up former UGA coaches or any NCAA coaches for that matter – check their records against Marks. If you’ve looked around this is the toughest conference in the country. Yes – they were definitely outplayed in every way Saturday. Get Real – this happens in life. I’m sick and tired of all these so called fans around Atlanta – everyone loves a winner – but god help you if you lose. How many “true” fans are really out there in Atlanta ? Sorry for the bad news. Hope for the best for Aaron and his family.

But, these sorts of personal issues need to stay out of the “sports” news. Everyone has a family and we all have these sorts of issues. Sick of the tweets from football players. What do they expect us do say? Play football for goodness sakes. I am sure for most UGA fans, this sounds like an excuse, or a future excuse for another poor performance. UGA fans are tired of excuses. No excuse for not beating USC. Vandy almost did it for goodness sakes! Did everyone else forget about that game?

I am a big Murray fan. Not blaming him for USC performance. It was the coaching staff that lost this one for us. I have always supported Richt and the gang, but they just didn’t care about the game like Spurrier did. And clearly, based on his comments after game, he just doesn’t get how frustrated the fans are. I am beginning to think Richt is best suited as an assistant coach and just not cut out to be the coach at a big program like UGA.

As I said in other posts AND prior to the season (so I AIN’T ARM-CHAIR QUARTERBACKING) that our o-line would get exposed against the good teams. Well, well, well, we can take it as long as we are winning, but when we lose we are no longer for the coach. If they are getting rid of anyone, it should be Bobo. He is the one calling the plays. What I could not understand, he would call a running play,, and would lose yardage, and then turn around and call another running play, That is idiocy. Uncle Kirk, that’s some big talk from behind a keyboard. So what do you think a win over Florida is going to do for Georgia at this point? Florida ain’t all that, LSU just sucks. Not that Georgia could beat them, but it is not struggling teams that UGA has to beat to compete for championships, but the BEST teams. Richt has just not been able to get that done. There have only been a few years out of his twelve year tenure that the OL was not suspect. I remember in 2003 that David Greene was sacked something like forty seven times.

OK, it should go without saying that there are more important things in life than winning or losing a football game, or any game for that matter. Of course folks can feel sorry for Aaron Murray and his family and wish them nothing but the best. I and many, many UGA fans feel that way. But feeling sorry for him still doesn’t erase the fact that neither he nor his teammates played well Saturday night, nor does it mean that CMR and the rest of the coaches should get a pass for their ineptitude. Life is life and the Murray family will have to deal with that and we pray that they will. But the game is the game and McGarity will have to deal with that, and again, we pray that he will! You win….you lose. That is part of it. But, until we address the line issues, we will not make it to the top of the SEC. We have good backs, a good QB, etc. But our LINE (yeah, I said it) got torn up Saturday night. No coach in the country takes this o-line and beats the better teams with it…not one! And, sadly, before the season started everybody knew it. Just a little false hope after we beat up on some weak-sisters. S.C. whooped us so bad up front that it would take Shakespeare 6 quill-pens, a 1/2 barrell of ink and three weeks to write about it. Until we learn how to bring in a top-notch line (see Alabama and others) it will continue. It is bad enough Murray has all the issues to deal with; his Dad will recover…..I feel sure! This line, however, will not recover and Murray has been toting an unfair part of the blame for losing big games. The reason we lose big games is: THE TEAMS WITH THE HOSSES UP FRONT SMASH US!
Good luck to your Dad……..speak that he will be cured; he will!

So Aaron Murray and C. Robinson’s house got “egged and rolled’ after the game saturday night!

Classless! If someone was going to get their house “egged or rolled” it should have started with Richt, Bobo, Grantham. But I do not believe in destroying properties to begin with.

I agree with Hire. What’s our record vs ranked opponents who finish ranked during the season? It’s time for Richt to go. And to those who say “We shouldn’t criticize because we’re not there” does that mean we shouldn’t criticize a chef’s cooking because we don’t cook? I mean really. Richt is the laughing stock of the SEC, Miles, Chiznik, and Saban All have National Championships since we even won a conference title.

Also, thanks for spending more time than any QB in UGa history preparing for games. I am betting that the overlwhelming majority of individuals with low class, or no class comments, have never put on pads and walked onto a collegiate field. Probably have never walked onto even a high school field. With that said, their opinion is worth about as much as any free advice.

At the end of the day, it is still just a game. Whoever took upon themsleves to trash the house should be banned from attending any future home games. That will not happen because, cowards that they are, they will not allow themselves to be identified.

As for Aaron Murray, today he is dealing with something infinitely more important than a game. If you can not respect that then do us all a favor and keep your misguided opinions to yourself.

In regards to Richt, I would still rather have my son playing for an individual of his character than a Saban or Spurrier. What comes after college football is a lot more important than a game.

You were doing pretty well with your statements until that last paragraph. Do you personally know Saban or Spurrier? I doubt it. I guess graduating your players, getting kids drafted, making sure they stay out of trouble, making sure they attend class, and teach them about life are just horrible traits to have. am as big of a UGA fan as anyone and it hurts and angers me when they lose just like any other fan but in competitive sports, no one hurts after a loss more than the players on the field. That being said, I am absolutely embarrassed by the small group of Georgia “fans” that stooped to the low level of vandalism of Aaron Murray’s property. No.1- He is just a kid playing a position in a TEAM sport, No.2- He can do no more than do his best to execute poorly called plays by Mike Bobo, and No.3- At the end of the day, it’s just a football game and you never know what these players are dealing with in their personal lives. It is shameful to think that I am in the smallest way grouped in a fan base with people of such low class and moral character.

We went 10-2 last year and could do that or better this year. And you want to fire Mark Richt? And hire who? Jon Gruden isn’t going to coach college and if he did he would only be there a year or two. I suppose you want Bobby Petrino?

Here is a realistic statement. At the end of the year do you know how many SEC teams will be undefeated. Exactly none or maybe 1. So fire all the other coaches?

I don’t think many people expect to win every game, however, UGA was picked by about half of the “experts” and the line was very close. No one predicted UGA to get blown out. The reason — because UGA is a better team than that. On paper and on the field. So what happened? That is what the UGA fans want to know. It should have been closer. I think if we were ever even in the game, most fans would be fine with a loss at to USC in their stadium. However, we looked like a bunch of chumps out there. I don’t believe USC is that good, nor do I think we are out the SEC East race. It should have been a game. It was never a game. The coaches are responsible at the end of the day. Period. It is their job to direct the team, perpare the team and make adjustments and substitutions as needed.

I wasn’t going to post on here, but after reading some of these comments, I feel the need to. Some of us have been diagnosis with diseases that we have for life (diabetes and thyroid disease for me), but it can’t impact our work and most of the times, we can’t use it as an excuse for poor performance at work. Yes, we sympathize will Aaron’s father and the rest of his family. We always say that cancer or any other disease is a terrible thing for one to endure. I don’t know Aaron or his family personally, but I can guarantee you this much, if they believe in a higher power (I call him God), then they will be fine.
As far as anyone using this forum to bash coach Richt. Those people are entitled to their opinions. May be one day someone will hear them. If you cry long enough, someone will eventually hug you or wipe away the tears. Georgia Football is good, but not great!! The problem with us is that we, as fans of this great state institution, seem to place our standards a bit high. We should stop buying into what the media is saying about UGA – even though the AJC correctly predicated that UGA would lose to Carolina and old cocky Spurrier – and start thinking that we are good for 8 to 10 wins a year. There, I said it, at this rate we will never be the caliber of team as Carolina, LSU, Alabama (and now Florida) again. I hope that I am wrong, but the last fours years have not shown me anything differently. So, let’s get over ourselves and start living this thing we call “LIFE”! Football pains will go away (usually takes a few hours) and life lesson will be learned. God’s blessing to Mr. Murray on a speedy recovery. I am praying for you and your family. Lastly, Go Dawgs! I was so upset I couldn’t hardly sleep Saturday night (For all you true CMR fans, I still went to church Sunday!!). I understand if you have to vent, but sadly enough people in power listen and for some unknown reason listen to the radical fan base and fire their coach. Ask UT if they could do it again, would they fire Fulmer. Be careful of what you wish for, you just might get it; and in the case of Gruden, you get a man who took over a championship contender, won the big game and barely heard from again afterwards (that’s strictly from a coaching standpoint, you can’t get away from him from a media perspective).

I wish the best possible recovery for the senior Mr. Murray.

I’m very sorry classless and clueless individuals vandalized the junior Mr. Murray’s premises.

Our quarterback is a young man – a student athlete – doing his best at a most difficult position. Personally, I think he’s done a pretty good job of it, and certainly he’s given it a tremendous effort. Whether we win or lose, and even whether he looks good doing it, is not entirely on his shoulders. If the line doesn’t block well, or if the receivers don’t run the routes properly, or catch the ball, that makes the quarterback look bad, but it’s not his fault. Mr. Murray is an unpaid student athlete, deserving, I think, of our appreciation. He’s our quarterback.

The coaches are another matter. If I did as bad a job as they are doing, I’d be fired. If I did as bad a job as them, I’d quit. They suck eggs.

I support all the Georgia players.

The coaches can all leave now. I’m over them.

Anyone that says the dawgs, Murray or Richt are above criticize or that fans that are being critical of them really aren’t football fans. These players compete for paid positions (scholarships at a major institution) and the coaches get paid hundreds of thousands of dollars. The whole sport is based on the concept of criticism. If you don’t play well enough, or coach well enough, someone else gets the starting nod. Really simple.

None of this discussion would have happened if UGA was ever in the game against USC. Or if Richt ever showed any emotion on the side-line. He looked defeated the entire game. I have always been a huge defender or Richt, but those of you who are defending him now are fooling yourselves. Even the analysts were on our side this time, even though we never show up in big games. This was our big chance to show the nation we were a quality program. We shoulded them yet again (Boise St, LSU, UCF, etc) that we are a better than average squad at best.

I ask you all, what is the job of a college football coach? For a fan it is simple – be competitive. We had the talent, so why weren’t we competitive? Coaching is the answer. I have no doubt Richt could have coached this team to a win. I just don’t know why he didn’t show up.

I’ve never been so embarrased as a dawg fan. I won’t be wearing my UGA colors for a long time.

Thyroid Cancer

October 8th, 2012
2:23 pm

As a malignant neoplasm I have been a UGA fan for over 30 years.
I have always taken the good with the bad and tried to find a silver-lining in all of our misadventures.
But what happened this weekend truly sickens me (no pun intended).
For the media to try and blame Aaron Murray’s performance on Saturday night on me, specifically my relationship with his father, is bruatlly unfair to me and cheapens the UGA brand as a whole.
In all my years as a fan and as a sarcoma, I have never been so ashamed.
I know for a fact that if Aaron had put on a big display with gaudy numbers all the writers would have said he did it for Papa Murray and he was inspired to play great for his dad.
But of course after that performance they want to blame me.
I wasn’t even at the game. (Well, I did spend the weekend in Columbia, but from 4PM Saturday until after midnight I was on the fourth floor of Palmetto Richland Memorial Hospital visiting the recurrent laryngeal nerve of a 62-year-old white male with a history of hypothyroidism.)
The point is UGA is a great program. But you have to work to make sure it stays that way.
When things go wrong, you have to look at the real problems and find the real solutions.
Blaming me or any other histopathology is counter-productive and in this case downright defamatory. Just like CMR says, we all have to a job to do, and I’m just “doing my job.”

I don’t get you people…the reason for this article is because we, the fans, want to know everything we can about Georgia football. This was not to set up an excuse for a young man who has committed everything he can to this football program. He just found out his father has cancer! And you blithering idiots use it as an opportunity to change the topic and vent about crap that doesn’t mean a fraction as much as someone’s life! Unbelievable…how can anyone jump into a forum on an article written about something so personal and use it to voice opinions about college football? I’m a Dawg through and through but we’ll have another game in two weeks (and for another 5 weeks after that), we’ll field another team next year, and the year after, and the year after, etc. IT’S JUST FOOTBALL. Aaron’s dad is sick today and that whole family needs the support of the Bulldog nation today.

And while I’m at it…if I’m not mistaken this is the first regular season loss for the Dawgs in 15 games…correct? You guys looking for Richt’s head on a platter are ridiculously shallow and ill-informed. I love the earlier post exclaiming surprise that none of you experts actually went into coaching at this level. Grow up guys!

Why did nobody egg Richt’s house?? If I lived in Athens I would be slashing his tires and knocking down his mailbox on a daily basis until he got so fed up that he left town voluntarily, because we all know McGarity will get too much pressure from the bible thumpers in Richts corner, to fire him after this season. The fact remains we have the worst big game QB in the conference in Murray (0-10 vs. teams that finished the season ranked) and the worst big game coach in the SEC in Mark “I love Jesus too much” Richt who is too busy planning church activities and suspending players for minor indescretions to win BIG SEC football games. This is why Richt is 0-12 vs. teams that finished the season ranked since 2008. Bama 2008- slaughtered. LSU last year- annihilated. Boise State last year humiliated. SC this year-embarrassed. And you homers still want this man as a coach, are you ignoring these facts or what?

[...] Aaron Murray found out this weekend that his father has thyroid cancer.  Murray’s stat line (11/31, 109 yards, 0 TD, 1 INT) might reflect that type of distraction.  Not represented in that stat line is the five or six drops that receivers had.  Missing from the box score is the fact that Murray was on his back or buried by a defender even more often than he was off-target.  Lost in that stat line is the fact that Aaron Murray played in a hostile environment against a beastly defense – neither of which was as concerning to him as his family’s situation. Astrauga, you stated:

——————————————————————-

Like most UGA fans, you’re dead wrong. USC is that good. We have the #1 or #2 front 7 D-line in the SEC. And everyone knows one of UGA’s weak points is the O-line. And Murray doesn’t play well with lots of pressure. So stop the run, put pressure on Murray, and you have an excellent chance to win. If you add the fact that UGA can’t stop USC #21 and USC has a QB who can run and doesn’t makes mistakes; USC should win the game. I did think UGA DL would be competitive against our OL, but that wasn’t the case.

You should stop reading all these recruiting papers about UGA 5 stars. As the HBC said, it’s what you do with them when you get them on campus. USC an outstanding DL, #21, solid special team, and a QB who can run and doesn’t make a lots of mistake…He’s 14-1; and has beaten top 20 teams….teams with winning records. As of now, this is a very good football team…we just need to stay in the moment. If so, we’ll beat LSU and Florida.

Am does not have to worry about someone beating him out during the season as does the rest of the team. He does not have to perform to keep his job as QB. Thats crazy! I agree that football is just a sport and there are much bigger issues in life than winning a game.
But religion isn’t one of them.
I know it gives people hope, etc., especially when they are confused or intimidated by the natural world (such as cancer).
Love for a family member has no bounds, and I appreciate what Aaron is going through and wish him the best.
At the same time, I question the notion of excusing CMR’s incompetence because of his religious zealotry when the reality is he was a much better ball coach before he got distracted by all the religious nonsense. The churchy sideshow is killing the football program and all the idiots are saying, “well we can’t win a bowl game, but he sure does love Jesus . . .” Ironic, isn’t it?

Coach Richt stated that some things in life are more important than wins and losses. That is so true to us fans and that may help get over the beat down. HOWEVER, Coach Richt is not getting paid for all of life’s other important events. He is getting paid to win football games and, unless it powder puff football, he isn’t winning. I love him to death and want to win under Richt; however, it is depressing to see us be unprepared for the one game we have needed to be prepared for for almost a year. Many of the posts here — and the conduct toward Murray and his roommate after the game — show yet again that some UGA fans are the worst in the world. Had a friend go to Auburn this weekend and asked him about the mood in the stands. He said some people booed but not for long — the booers were quieted down by the other fans .. as he said “We don’t boo our team” UGA fans will turn on you on a dime and boo like hell .. Love you when you’re up .. hate you when you’re down ..

Hey jddawg..I dont mind winnig with CMR..Its just after seing his emotions and his coaching ability against top 25 teams since his arrival that WE ALL KNOW IT AINT GOING TO HAPPEN. Sure, wins against Buffalo, Fl Atl, Ga Southern,Vandy, shitty TN teams will happen on a yearly schedule, BUTT<CMR HAS NOT BEAT ANYBODY AT ALL IN 11 YEARS..MAYBE 2-4 KINDA BIG WINS, BUT NOTHING ELSE..AND ALWAYS GETTING OUTCOACHED ! Did you see how much joy SPURRIER got when UGA jumped offsides on 4 and 1 on the SC 28 yd line to give sca first down. SPURRIER WAS JUMPING AROUD LIKE SC HAD JUST SCORED A TD..Spurrier did that by COACHING..CMR WOULD OF JUST PUNTED AND NOT USED ALL THE OPTIONS AVAILABLE. Aaron Murray has been an outstanding addition to the DAWGS and I am proud to have him representing our team. The Dawgs also lost Bennett in the same week for the season so it was a tough week for Georgia all around. However, I have all the the faith in the world that Aaron and his family will be blessed with overwhelming love and grace in this difficult time and that God’s hand will be on him and his family guiding them every step of the way. Aaron, your something special and anyone with eyes can see you were raised well and give your all in everything you do. Wipe the SC dust off your shoulders and hold your head high. Your a phenomenal leader and will continue on with diginity and I can’t wait to see what you do next. You’ve got to be a special kind of retarded to not beleive in anything. So you just think people, the Universe and everything in it just “appeared”. And spare me the “Big Bang” crap, cause where did that come from? You don’t believe in God, then explain the Duck-billed Platapus.

That being said, as a Christian, do I think there is a time and place for one’s faith, absolutely. Do I think Mark Richt’s values and integrity get in the way of his coaching no, I don’t honestly think one thing has anything to do with the other. Steve Spurirrier is a Christian as well – son of a preacher, and it doesnt get in his way. Richt isn’t the only high character man of faith in coaching, and to suggest that those values are the reason he’s not a good coach is plain ignorant.

Richt’s issue is he is loyal to a fault to some of his assisants that have gotten fat, lazy and happy.

Bobo, Garner, Tereshinski. Go get a high profile OC, a hungry aggressive recruiter like Garner USED to be, and get a new inovative Strength and condidtioning coach – one that’s actually knows and understands new fangled terms like cross-fit, boot-camp, and cardio-lifting, and knows about more equipment than barbells and dumbells and watch how quickly the program gets turned around.

But lay off the man’s religon. Believing in God and using Christian principles to guide his life have nothing to do with his success or failure as a coach.

Couple observations: GA was outschemed and SC a good team that was amped, Javis about 70% right now, rest will help, O line very vulnerable, some of that due to SCs defensive scheme and D line, but mistakes on line`s part execution, offensively alot of mistakes and misreads, not all on backs or Murray because O scheme wasn`t tweaked effectively as game progressed. Ga D seemed confused all game and noone played up tp par, especially DBs who continue to allow WRs to get behind them as they have all year. Either that`s on Grantham`s scheme or Lakatos with how they`re being taught. Everyone makes a mistake but patterns weekly show coaching problems, and finally any ahole that messes with a player`s home Anytime, including after a loss deserves to get their tails beat! You try to play the game better than they do!!

I live in a city in between Columbia and Charleston….South Carolina. Today when I was driving home from work, I spotted a sign that said “Fire Mark Richt” in front of a local mill. As I listened to 107.5 The Game on my drive home, I hear where Georgia fans egged Aaron Murray’s home, and yes they enjoyed discussing this in detail. Then, WIS-TV Columbia also covers the story on the six o’clock news. How will this influence talented SC recruits for Georgia? I was at the game….the extremely LOUD game. Right now I feel more embarassed about how our fans have acted than how bad our team was beaten. Get a life. These are young men. On a truly somber note, a Hartsville high school football player tragically died during friday night’s game. Life is full of unexpected happenings. Some things in life are far more important than a loss of a football game.

We would of lost 70-0, Lemay cant find a receiver anywhere on the field and can only drop back and run and will never see the field during big time situations. If CMR has any balls(which he doesnt)HUDSON MASON would be the starting qb vs KY nd running the#1 offense the next 2 weeks..AM cant see over the line of scrimmage and is a deer in headlights. For you so called fans that do not like the product that UGA is putting out, go root for another team. Our coaches are professionals & you all are novices. If I wet the bed in a game where I had a chance to make up for a whole lot of disappointing performances against ranked teams and I came home and found my house toilet papered and egged, I would get a ladder and a hose and some trash bags and get to work.
What do spoiled, self- entitled, unfocused players do?
They get on Twitter and whine about it. “I hope everyone feels sorry for me and judges the losers who vandalized my property.”
Real men don’t tweet; they just take care of business.
This program is full of unfocused, soft guys who care more about celebrity and church than football, and it starts from the top down.
CMR runs around saying “look at me, I’m such a great Sunday School teacher and a great diddy to these boys – just suspended them for doing something half the students are doing – now I may not beat a ranked team the rest of the time I’m here, but I’m building character in these young men – and we are showing by getting whooped and then whining about a little toilet paper in the yard.”

I hate to suggest firing any of the Georgia coaches but the reality is we have a problem and it’s been the same problem for years. Our lines of scvrimmage! Even if we keep Richt – we need some changes to the staff. We need a ol coach and a dl coach that can attract top level big guys and coach them up. That has not been happening. Richt was on the hotseat when we lost Searels so we got Will Friend – he may be good – he derserves more time – we don’t have more time – we need to build a solid offensive and defensive line. Many recruiting mistakes in that area. Here again, Rodney Gardner.
Life doesn’t get better by chance it gets better by change.

The Georgia fans are the ones McGarity needs to serve – not the outmatched coaching staff.

And yes, I know CMR has RED-SHIRTED MASON, but since you are A MORON and dont know that CMR CAN STILL PLAY MASON AND IF HE DOES, THE RED-SHIRT LABEL COMES OFF AND HE USES A YEAR OF HIS ELIGIBILITY, YOU MORON CDAWG! And I have stood right behind AM and he is 5′11″ at most,,WAY TO SHORT TO BE IN SEC..Now ERIC ZEIER(U PROBABLY NEVER HEARD OF HIM) is that short also, but had a CANNON for an ARM and had HEART to stand up and BEAT top 25 opponnets, which CMR and AM DONT HAVE. Now the td thing u may be right,,but who cares if AM threw 10 touchdowns against BUFF AND FLA ATL!! And by the way, I played football at UGA(’78-’81), and graduated ‘82 with BSED . MORON!

I am a Gamecock fan and thank the Lord that our fans are not as uncaring and unkind as you Georgia people. What is wrong with you? Have you no conscience, no empathy?

Aaron Murray, so sorry about your Dad and will keep him in my prayers.

News flash! For all you Ga. People who think because a student doesn’t qualify to get into Ga. but can get into Ala. Or any other SEC school, I have news for you. The only reason Ga. Has higher qualifications is because of the Hope scholarship, plain and simple. There are so many students applying who want a free education they have to be weeded out somehow. To think that Georgia supplies a superior education is laughable, especially considering the grammar and misspelled words on this website. I daresay most of you never attended high school much less a college.

A.B. you are a classless jerk. There was nothing mean about my post but you are one of those hotheads that can’t have a reasonable discussion. If you are really that old you should be a little more civil unless life events have pissed in your cheerios in that case there is always counseling. I can assure you that I have a significant amount of football knowledge and anything but a moron.

Just because a person blogs on this site, with poor spelling and poor grammar, does not mean that they graduuated from UGA or GT or Perimeter College.

UGA needs a newb coaching staff and Aaron Murray cannot win big games and loses more than his share vs. Average teams, like U of Central. Florida and Mich. State and Boise State and Florida in 2010.

You and your family in my prayers. Hope the bulldog community grows up.

[...] The Bulldogs have two weeks to stew over their loss to the Gamecocks, and then they’ll get to pound Kentucky to make themselves feel better before facing Florida. Given the nastiness of the October schedule for the SEC East’s contenders, the Bulldogs should not give up hope just yet. A Florida win against South Carolina Oct. 20 and a Georgia win in the Planet’s Biggest Solar-Powered Libation Celebration — we’re not supposed to call it the World’s Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party anymore — might force a three-way tie atop the division. Or, if South Carolina loses to LSU and Florida, it could leave the Bulldogs atop the division. Given how thoroughly Georgia was beaten Saturday, the Bulldogs need to pull for that second scenario. They don’t need poll voters remembering how helpless they looked in Columbia. In the meantime, keep the father of Bulldogs quarterback Aaron Murray in your thoughts. On Sunday, Denny Murray revealed to his son that he had been diagnosed with thyroid cancer. [...]

I pray his father recovers 100%! Pray for those UGA fans that egged Murray’s and Robinson’s residence, they need serious help taking it to that extreme. If you truly love you team/alma mater then love them unconditionally, otherwise you’re a fooligan (fool+hooligan) when do stuff like that…

Poise? Really? CMR should have given the players a word like tenacity or determination. Poise is for cheerleaders, not for football players trying to beat a #6 team. He is way too laid back to be coaching in the SEC. When is UGA gonna wake up and realize he is too soft. He will not beat the Fla team that played LSU. If we go 9 and 3 he’ll be back. The A holes should have papered CMR’s house not the players. They are only doing what they are told. He has ruined way too much talent over the years. Can you say Pollack and Greene? Should have gone all the way with them. He needs to leave and take Bobo with him.

Aaron, so sorry to hear about your father. I lost close family members due to cancer and I haven’t tweeted previously but was sincerely touched. Sorry you learned about this right after the loss to South Carolina. There is always a bright side to everything; just keep up the faith.

Praying for your dad Aaron. Sorry but, when you play for Georgia you play for some of the biggest asshole fans in college football… You will do great things in football if you keep at it.. there are much better things than UGA ahead of you. Athens is only temporary.

All I know is Saturday’sgame was the second worse butt whipping that Spurrier has been a part of. The biggest one was in the late 60’s when his number 1 ranked Gators were decimated by UGa. He went on to win the Heisman that year, but I guarantee that he has never forgotten that incredible beat down by the Dawgs!!!
__________________

You don’t know your history. He didn’t win the Heisman “in the late 60s.” And was a major part of several worse whippings of the Dawgs when he was coaching the gators.

Sure we should have played a little better. But we didn’t. Deal with it. We can win the rest of our games if we back the team and they play like they can. We went 10-2 last year and could do that or better this year.

We went 10-4 last year–not 10-2. That’s realistic, fan.
