WHAT THEY SAID AFTER SOUTH CAROLINA’S 35-7 WIN OVER GEORGIA
“Obviously this was a special one … beating three years in a row a school that used to own you. They can’t say they own us anymore, that’s for sure.”
— South Carolina coach Steve Spurrier on the Gamecocks’ first three-game winning streak in the history of the Georgia-South Carolina series, which UGA leads 46-17-2
“This was actually my 250th overall win as a coach [including college, NFL and USFL], and having it against the Georgia Bulldogs is special, too. That’s a team that used to beat my alma mater [Florida] very well. I’ve been fortunate as a coach against them, not so much as a player, but as a coach.”
– Spurrier, 15-5 as a coach against Georgia (11-1 with Florida and 4-4 with South Carolina)
“Like I told the guys, ‘The bad news is we took a whipping, but the good news is that we all took it together.’ I don’t think anyone could look in the mirror and say, ‘I had a great day, but the other boys didn’t.’ … We got beat by a very good team that was primed and ready to go.”
— Georgia coach Mark Richt
“It stings. We felt like we had a great rhythm offensively going on in the first five games. … [South Carolina has] a very talented defense all over the board. They’re up there with the best I’ve ever played.”
— Georgia quarterback Aaron Murray after the Bulldogs, who averaged 48.2 points per game in the first five, were held to one touchdown against South Carolina (that with less than two minutes remaining)
“This was the greatest atmosphere I’ve ever played in.”
— South Carolina quarterback Connor Shaw
“He was pretty much reading me. If I got up field, he was going to take off running. … He made plays with his feet, and he was fast, faster than I thought he was.”
— Georgia linebacker Jarvis Jones on Shaw, who had 78 yards rushing on 14 carries
“I think we did a good job tonight. That was our goal — to come out here and put pressure on [Murray] and cause a lot of conflict with the offensive line. … [Georgia’s] offensive line gave away when they were going to hike the ball, so I got a good jump on it.”
— South Carolina defensive end Jadeveon Clowney
“We just made a lot of bonehead mistakes. Giving up big plays, jumping offsides, turning the ball over — we can’t do things like that and win ballgames. … It was just lack of focus on our part. When that happens, it’s easy for a team to make a big play, and that’s what they did.”
— Georgia cornerback Sanders Commings
“They had us on our heels all night. You’ve got to give that defense credit.”
– Georgia offensive coordinator Mike Bobo
“We gave up two touchdowns right off the bat on explosive plays. You can’t do that. … Give them credit. We dug ourselves a hole.”
— Georgia defensive coordinator Todd Grantham
“I think our stadium was probably the loudest in the country today.”
– Spurrier

The UGA coach quotes are pure crap and I hope they read this. Sure, you dug yourself a 21 point hole but you also shutout SC in the 2nd quarter. Did UGA do anything to show life? NO! 21-7 at halftime would have been good.
21-14 after the opening drive of the 2nd half would have been good too, then you’d have a ball game. UGA looks like they didn’t practice worth a lick all week. Too busy drankin’ and getting high I’d assume. How many violations of team rules could we find if we really look?

The team is only as good as its coaches, and ours suck. We have no coach at uga that is a true leader. Richt is not a head coach. He needs to go back being an OC. He’s been our coach for 12 years this year and hasn’t done jack since the van gorder days. The bulldogs will not compete against a good team until we get a neww coach. That will show leadership in the locker room and on the feild and off. Richt and his staff doesn’t offer that. That’s why we fold in every big game cause the coaches don’t know how to get the players ready. Look at the gators muschamp is only on his 2nd year aand he’s turned them around they are a tough team physically and mentally and looking good. Richt is on year 12 and what has he done without van gorder or ann elite player that could have been much better if he went else where. Cause richts play developement sucks or he doesn’t know how to use talent. I’m sick of this every year. We need new blood, a new culture, a new look which all equals a new coach and staff. I love my dawgs I’m sick of this kind of loss year end and out. Go Dawgs I support the pllayers not the coaches though.

I think it is fair to say we have the best coaching and talent in the SEC this year. I hope we can make our fellow teams in the SEC East proud this year and prove our division has the most talent. Lets both beat UF cause I know we will be pulling for the DAWGS when you faceoff against them after in a few weeks. Keep you heads up, you got a talented teams and you will finish the season strong.

Gotta give Spurrier credit. Getting our guys to jump offside on 4th and 1 at his own 20 with his team up by four TDs was as hilarious and embarrassing a play as I’ll ever see from any Georgia team. He did that for only one reason. He wanted to show the world just how undisciplined and stupid our guys are.

This is the most talented Gamecock team I’ve ever seen. They are far and away the class of the SEC East … I think they should beat LSU nex t week in Baton Rouge and believe they are better than Florida. They are perhaps the only team who can match up well with Bama. Carolina, has a habit though of dropping at least one game they should win. It will be a travesty if they do because I think we may have played the national champions tonight.

This was a total embarassement to Georgia, The State of Georgia, and Bulldawg Nation every where. Been Fare to CMR, but it’s obvious now as Spurrier gets SC better, and Georgia slides under Richts leadership. Not going to take lng to elaborate, but prime example on 4th & Goal we throw and under route to Wooten a 5′10 WR, With 6′5 Brown, 6′3 King, and two #1 TE’S in the country who combined have 5 catches. Like Spurrier said two years ago, “Georgia gets all that talent, and I don’t know what happens”. Well coach I’ll tell you what happens, they meet a SC team we used to handle and now get out coached year in, and year out. Fire Richt Now!!!!!!!!

Hey Coach Bobo, We don’t recruit ‘6 feet 260lb Fullbacks to spread the offense out. Line them up, put Gurley and/or Marshall back there and hit them in the mouth from the first play, then you go play action after you’ve made the LB’s have to think. You called a piss poor game tonight and so many more. Grow up coach and play some “Grown Man Football” again. It works time after time, ask spurrier with Lattimore on his team.

Spurrier can crow now for winning the game but Dawgs have the last laugh by winning East after SCar folds and chokes as usual. Visor Boy is Evil while Dawgs got Christain coaching that knows how to deal with tribalation like this. Dawgs will come back next game stronger to finish season on roll. Dawgs did better job scheduling and that pays off with still having chance to go to Dome. Visor Boy is a laughing hyndena now but we fix him by Dawgs winning East again.

When a new assistent coach has to constantly scream at players for not following instructions, you got problems at the top. I don’t blame Belin for leaving this team. The uga needs a hc like Warren Belin.

Georgia and its fan’s have a false sense of how good they think they are and it starts with the AD. You can not continue to schedule cream puffs most of which you have trouble with and hope to ever be considered a real strong program. Coaching well I don’t know, what I do know when you see you are unable to run or block I think most coaching staff’s would recognize they need to make adjustments. Same can be said for the defense. There certainly seems to be far too many players being suspended at Georgia each year.. Simply said that comes from players not giving damn about their team, school or anything but themselves. You can not miss multiple games and expect players to play well.
As the saying goes Georgia is not ready for prime time they are an embarrassment to the school and program. Every year it is the same. Well if this team losses and we can beat this one or that we could still play for the championship. In essences we can not do it on our own we need help. What a pathetic attitude to have to rely on every year. NO BCS BOWL FOR YOU GUYS!!!

If the Gamecock team that played Ky. last week had shown up, we would have smoked them. Lets see what they do against LSU & Florida. We can still have a very good season. Its very clear the better team was more prepared and easily won the game…but its even more clear that Spurrier is an egomaniac. To make the comments he made after Carolina beat Georgia shows he doesn’t have an ounce of class in his body…..and never will! Great coaches are humble in loss and show class in victory something that he just doesn’t understand. He should let other people tell him and his team how good they are and not pat himself on the back and poke fun at the competition……thats what truely great coaches do!

UGA is not an elite level team and never will be with the current coaching staff. They will always be good, but not great. So we will continue to win 8 or 9 games a year which will be “good enough” to justify keeping everyone in place. The AD will do nothing about this so we all need to deal with it!!! This is reality…the schedule is set up like it is for this very reason. We will beat the “directional schools, struggle with TN, KY, MS, Vandy…and lose to USC, UF, LSU, and AL.from here on out, so settle in Dawg fans…here we go!!!

When was the last time UGA actually lived up to the annual hype? Georgia fans seriously think they are national contenders every year. With the talent that is taken out of GA high schools by this program it would seem obvious by most people that a good x’s and o’s guy would get them there. Do you really think that Saban, Meyer, Spurrier, Kelly, Peters, Kiffin, Gruden etc. could not coach this incredible talent up and win the big ones?
This staff will get you what you’ve been getting on talent alone. Your annual/biannual challenge is to get rid of a nice guy who recruits well in the living room. Tough to make that call. But if you complain and believe what I say is true, then do it and move on or stay content and chances are you will never know.

Unprepared, uninspired, underachieving. Those 3 words best describe my feelings about this team right now. 2-15 against ranked teams since 2008. That stat says it all right there. This team has no business even being top-20, much less top-5. Worst performance I’ve seen since…..well, Alabama in 2008, which is, coincidently, the game that started the downhill slide. Mark Richt was really good…….for about 6 years. Now he’s as uninspired as his team. We need a coach up here, not a Chaplain.

The player’s names change every year: Green/Smith, Stafford/Green/Moreno, Murray/Jarvis/”Gurshal”, but the outcome remains the same. It was funny to see Gurley trying to pump the team up in the first quarter while Murray was chewing his towel, the senior guys knew the script. Another big game another big let down from a Richt/BoBo team. We had to answer after the first drive, the 1st and goal, or the first drive of the second half. These quotes make it worse. Not one coach taking responsibility, not one player showing passion. A Tebow moment vowing to play with heart apologizing for letting the dawg nation down. What’s the definition of insanity? Trotting Mark Richt, Mike Bobo, and Todd Grantham out there year after year and expecting a finely tuned, well disciplined team as a result of their efforts. UGA is being left further and further back in the SEC dust, and Barack Obama’s debate performance this past week shows what happens when you’re unprepared and you think you’re better than what you actually are. A tip of the hat to Steve Spurrier, UGA’s Antichrist, for exposing the UGA-ly truth!

It’s so hard to believe how the chickens played with Vandy vs. UGA! I believe they must have built their game plan around the Vandy game film…….HUGE difference!
This was a reality check and we got the message……totally unprepared and not a clue about how to fix it at halftime. The turning point of the game was right after they played the National Anthem! Gee, it was all over! They might have well given all the DAWGS a pillow and blanket and turned out the stadium lights! I kept asking myself: “Did the real UGA team make the trip to Columbia?” That was such a butt whipping, I pray that no one was hurt!
The beasts (and I do mean beasts such as the bookends) on the chickens line were eating the DAWGS line for dinner! Talk about DAWG food…..it really was! Damn, they were even licking their chops! They were energized so high, they had to be on some super-hype juice! Was that their 4th string they put in that allowed Boo Malcolm’s score at the end of the game?
This game was scary, to say the least, about UGA’s program! This one takes an introspection beyond description and should figure in on coaches and player’s evaluations! It was the poorest showing of the proud UGA football program that I care to remember! Something is amiss and I hope they can muster enough intellect to turn it around and be waiting at the gates when these chickens come visiting in Athens next year! At this point, that is all they can do! My gosh, they were clawed to the proverbial DAWG bone in this one! Just hope they can stop the bleeding, re-attach their balls and get on with it! We’ll all be watching with our hands over our eyes hoping they will! GO DAWGS!

Spurrier now needs to do something about the SEC, Georgia obviously owns somebody there. They swapped Alabama for Missouri with a straight face. Who wants to see Alabama eat up Georgia in the championship game? Here’s hoping USC runs the table so we have something to watch, instead of three better teams sitting home watching Georgia.

Joey…..I’ve haven’t expected greatness from UGA football in a while. I’ll admit I thought Stafford and the gang might win us the big one. I always tune in, although I have quit the expensive trips to Athens. I don’t spend my money watching UGA beat up cupcakes or under achievable against quality opponents. Our program has become predictable. The players keep changing, coaches stay the same, and the outcomes the same. I’m by no means a football genius, but I do manage resources and analyze trends and it’s fairly obvious what factor in the equation needs to be adjusted.

All these fans hype the team up year after year but the fact remains we are not elite and haven’t been in a while. Richt has had two elite teams in his career here. Dawg02, the great head coaches are always tweaking their staffs, sometimes by choice, sometimes because their assistants get HC jobs. Look how many assistants Myer went through at UF.
My point is, a staff staying put is not a good thing. No fresh ideas. No new blood. Thus, the “predictability” you mentioned. And coaches like Spurrier, Saban, and Myer will eat up a predictable team.

It ain’t the losing that is the big deal to me. Honestly, if we played SC again next month, they would beat us again – they are good, and Spurrier exploits matchups.
It’s the fact we still are not competitive against the better teams. We haven’t been for years now. A flukey schedule the past 1+ seasons made us believe we were better, but the truth is, we’ve played 5 good or great teams in this time, and we lost to EVERY ONE of them.

DGD…..when you have the resources and consistently recruit well, then who is at fault? I never yell BCS championship in the summer, but the 0-9 vs teams that finish ranked is pathetic. The players are students and deserve unwavering support and they get it. The coaches and staff are employees hired to do a job that they have consistently done poorly. They have all the players and resources of everyone in the top ten, and the fact that we aren’t a better program is precisely the problem.

Mark, tell me how you can possibly think we will beat UF? Their D is better than LSU’s last year, and better and faster than SC’s D. They held UT to 20 points in Knoxville, and beat Texas A&M on the road.
Lastly, their QB doesn’t choke in big games, unlike you know who, and our D plays good for 1 or 2 quarters per game.

You folks saying “we still have a good team, etc.” just don’t get it. It’s not that we lost the game — it’s how we lost. First of all — you have Jarvis Jones saying Shaw was reading him. Give me a break — he (or someone) should have been spying Shaw all night. You hit him every play. You take Shaw out of the game and SC has no offense. That’s the problem with this coaching staff — bad gameplan coming in and very poor play calling. If the running game isn’t working and you’re way behind — you throw the rest of the way. Roll the QB if you have to. Why didn’t we use our tight ends more effectively? Our coaching staff also doesn’t know how establish disciplined execution. Lastly, the motivation just wasn’t there. So, like I said — it isn’t the losing part, it’s how we lost (unmotivated, undisciplined, and not being smart). The announcers even pointed it out. This game truly was an embarassment to the Dawg Nation. McGarrity had better do something quick.

That’s what I get called when I criticize Richt, or bring up the bad loses. You know, the losses against every single good team we have played since ‘08? And forget the embarrassing scores, Richt-Fan-Boys don’t care. He is a good man, don’t ya know? And, and Spurrier isn’t classy. And, and Saban is evil. And, and, we better be thankful we have Richt – nevermind he can’t beat any coach, unless we have overwhelming talent over.
How many of you, when we got 2 TDs behind last night, really believed Richt could come back and lead UGA to victory in that game?
Not me. I knew which sideline had the best coach. I watched every second, but I knew it was over halfway in the 1st Quarter.
Unless one is in the Richt-Fan-Boy-Club, and giddy with the thought of 10 wins, it’s another wasted season and it’s just sad.

I’m a DAWG fan that grew up outside Athens who has lived in Colorado for the last 18yrs. I was a military man who traveled the globe displaying my red, white and black proudly. I always tell folks that you can take me out of Georgia but you can’t take Georgia out of me. Even in suburbia Colorado, you can drive down Prairie Grass Lane and see my oversized rock/boulder that was custom made proudly displaying the Georgia “G.”
At the moment, I’m hurt, disgusted and just plain mad! Richt’s knowledge of football is among the best but his ability to lead is clearly in question. From his very first bowl game against BC (the punt on fourth down), the loses against Florida with Green and Edwards, last years loss to Colorado and a losing season, It’s clear as day. Richt has to go. Ultimately, he is not to blame. It’s the decision makers who deserve the pointed finger: the President, the Regents, the AD and yes the Boosters. Until those stars align and agree that The University of Georgia deserves the best, We’re stuck with a team that has the potential to be among the elites such as Alabama, LSU, and Florida but lacks the commitment from our UGA leadership. So next time you jump on or off the Richt ban wagon, please realize who really is at fault.
Richt said it best, “Tonight we weren’t very good, but the world hasn’t ended.” He was right there was no fire and brimstone. We still have the lack of commitment from UGA leadership and once again a whole lot of emptiness for Georgia fans.

Spurrier and South Carolina do NOT have the resources that UGA has. They do not have the money, a major city nearby like Atlanta, the facilities or extended support. So how do they beat us three years in a row and beat the crap out of us last night??? Spurrier doesn’t even make anywhere the money Richt does, so how is that working out?
This is frustrating and the only thing else to say, LIKE I HAVE for the past 3 years….they will be “plenty” of Ga-Fl tickets available now.

A special message for all of you Richt supporters…please oblige us all with a logical answer to the following questions:
What has Mark Richt “not shown” you in the last 5 years that you think is worth keeping him and his $2 Million PLUS salary? What secret is he hiding that you know about; whereas you think he’s a good coach? Does the Koolaid that you drink give you any predictory sense that Mark Richt will be ever good enough to win when it counts? What makes you so hesitant to get this guy out of your heads so you can take your hits on the chin and start over with someone who can actually use this type of talent? Please, oblige us.

Richt is a pretender. No fire. No desire to win. No preparation for big games. No coaching staff. Just a real….nice….guy.
Nice guys don’t win in the SEC. I mean truthfully, what other coach would have his wife serving drinks to the team or even have her on the sideline period??? Here’s a song dedicated to Mark Richt:

Joe, first, I ain’t your “bro.”
Second, Richt has proven that you can have all the talent in the world, but if another coach is smarter, he will beat you talent or not.
And as far as all those NFL picks, what did we do with those 7 or 8 NFLers from the ‘08 squad? Stafford, Knowshon, AJ, MoMass, and 4 defensive players?
Didn’t even win the East.

OK, last night sucked. Everyone will scream for a new coach. Richt may feel some pressure and then he will decide to coach again. His problem is not his ability or football knowledge. It is his intensity, desire, and discipline. Those three things are the reason Richt hasn’t burned out and others have. That is why we reeled off ten wins in a row and then got complacent in the bowl game. Spurrier guns for UGA every year. He admitted that at UF. He admitted it at SC. That is why they played a mediocre game against UK last week. They were preparing for us. He says some classless things, but he is honest and a damn good coach. We still may very well win the east again. The cocks will probably beat LSU, but should lose to the gators. If we can’t win the UF game it is lack of desire, nottalent. We knew UGA needed a gut check. Richt isn’t going anywhere, so lets hope that he picks his intensity up. If he were to retire before his contract ends, I hope we pull someone like Kirby Smart in. Muachamp would have been perfect for UGA, but we missed out on him. Grantham appears to have his eye somewhere else, like the nfl, this year. Our defense should be the best in the country this year. Lets just hope we regain some fire for the rest of the year

It’s crazy to spend hundreds of dollars when I can predict to score which I came very close to here 30-10. 2002 2005 was the last time we played a complete season. Richt used to put noise over the loud speaker to prepare for hostile environments. He also used to call thee plays. He used to have his players focused. They were disciplined. Van Gorder left, and that discipline fell by the wayside. It was one embarrassing game. If the coaching gets focused, UGA had the talent to go toe to toe with anyone. Just a matter of how focused the coaches are.

I see we’ve dropped in the polls, but not far enough to reflect how badly we played, and not nearly far enough to reflect how unlikely we are to recover from having a coaching staff that belongs in the unemployment lines.
Anybody that thinks we can beat Florida is delusional. Well, maybe we can beat them, but we won’t. We have Bobo. We have that loser Mark Richt. Bobo hasn’t a clue how to call plays against a good defense, and Richt thinks losing is okay. The rest of our coaches suck, too.
Against a decent team we suck in every area of the game.

I think we could have been in the game early and had more of a chance if bennet played… i think the whole offense didnt run as smooth without him being in there…the week just started out terrible with his injury…..anyways bobo needs to get murray some special boots with 4inches lift on them…then just maybe he can see over the line…dont worry anyways about the boots slowing murray down..richt wont let his golden boy scramble anyways

Here’s all you need to know about Georgia. BOBO HIRED AS O.C. in 2007. Since 2008, Georgia is 2 – 15 against Top 10 Teams. Aaron Murray is a stat monster, but is 0 – 10 vs. Top 10 Teams. It is easy to look good when you have Georgia’s offensive talent and playing inferior teams. Bobo gets outschemed, outworked, outcoached, and outsmarted anytime he is up against equal or superior talent. Changes need to be made. That’s just being objective. You cannot determine how bumpy a road actually is until you have driven a long way. Four years with these results. Hmmmmmmm.

I would have liked to see a more focused team, the coaches have got to take responsibilty for this poor showing with the entire nation watching, im disapponited like everybody else but i know that there is alot of football left to be played, we will see just what type of leaders we have on this team if they can keep everybody together and get everyone refocused on going out there and playing the way they are capable of playing. The entire coaching staffing from the head to the trainers, strength need to refocus and get thevplayers to buy in all over again it looked like the defense just gave up even after CMR had called a timeout and talk to them just maybe if the players dont respect CMR than it might be time for a change and they way the defense responded after he talked to them it appears that a change is needed. truth hurts still a DAWG FAN

The sad thing is Mike Bobo, is that any team that had a legitimate chance at beating beating Georgia has had your offense on its heels. South Carolina isn’t the first team to destroy your offense. The margins at which Georgia has lost to those ranked teams is pathetic, all because Bobo’s offense is never prepared. It wasn’t breaking news that South Carolina has one of the Top 3 front sevens in the country, so how come you don’t game an for it instead of making excuses for a pathetic offensive game?

Great talent, plenty of money, great facilities, beautiful Campus…..It’s obvious what the problem is. True UGA fans are upset because our boys deserve better coaching and preparation such as a decent strength and conditioning program. Richt is 0-10 now against top 12 teams and 2-16 against the Top 25 since 2008. We are recruiting in the top 10 EVERY YEAR. Those players just don’t magically turn into average players. The UGA linebackers are to small to compete in the 3 / 4 defense. Todd Grantham is not a quality defensive coach, Spurrier made fun of him when hired, three years and three loses later he owns todd grantham, lots of points.
The truth: UGA is the most overrated team each year in college football

The Georgia players quit. Richt can’t win a big game. He is now 9-31 against ranked teams.
Spurrier is a better coach. Bobo is a joke. Grantham has been torched ever since the second half of the massacure by LSU last year. The D is a joke too.
It is time for Richt to go!

As long as Spurrier is at S. Car. and CMR is at UGA. Carolina is gonna be the owner of that game. Anyway I can’t see where UGA ever “owned” them. Wasn’t Donnan the coach the last time UGA beat them? The dogs better be ready for the Gators, or they’ll get the same whipping.

Lets’ see….the record now is Georgia has won something like 46 times vs Carolina’s 16 or 17 wins. Hmmmmmmmm…..Yes, it’s official…Steve Spurrier is as stupid as his classmates say he was while stealing a Heisman from Bob Griese at UF and when he never beat UGA as a player….ever… That’s a record he can never erase….ever. I think an unbiased observer would say that Georgia owns South Carolina. And I’m a UVa fan.

m an alumni and it hurts so bad to see this program fall like it has over the past few years… It is a program of cowards, which starts at the stop with Greg McGarity not having the strength to make a decision that should have been made 2 years ago. Instead, we have the most over paid coaches in history. The entire staff needs to be dismissed and we need fresh blood no matter the cost. Aaron Murray needs to go… I don’t care if he breaks ever record in UGA history; he will never be someone the fan base cares about. He is not a winner or someone that can lead any team to the promise land. I am quitting on this team like they quit on the field in Carolina last night. I am over it and the University will not get one more dollar from me until they make a change at the top of the program. I am going to encourage all of my fellow alumni to do the same…We cannot vote Richt out, but we can vote with our dollars and I implore you all not to use any of your dollars to support a program that will not give us what we ask for and deserve: HOPE! As long as Mark Richt and his band of dwarfs are here we will have no HOPE. I cannot keep the faith expecting good things to come down the road; I have been fooled too much over the past few years. UGA has become a C-USA program. We look good playing against teams less than us (the Tulane or Duke), but when it comes to teams like Bama, LSU, and I guess now South Carolina we see how mediocre we truly are now days…It is an embarrassment to this state, much the same as Tech is to the state… at least they don’t have talent. I know some will say that we will still we 10 games this year (and we may well do that), but we will lose to USC & UF in the only two games versus real teams all year… Most likely we will lose our bowl game too and I am afraid that people will feel like that is good enough to keep the coaches… Well, I am here to say it is not. I do not care that Mark Richt is a good Christian man. So am I, and if I don’t do my job well I would still get fired. Being a good man doesn’t make you a good coach…Just look at all the arrest and suspensions! Being a Christian means that you have salvation; it doesn’t mean that you become good at all you do, nor does it qualify you to do things that you really cannot do well. The results should speak for themselves and as far as I am concerned they do not meet where we should be as a program.

This has happened all too often in the Richt regime. The Dawgs come into a big game with an opportunity to play for even bigger things at the end of the year and they come into the game totally unprepared to play and without any intensity. I have given up on CMR. We will never compete for national titles as long as he is in charge of the football program. There is too much talent on that team and in this state for him not to put a competitive top 5 (top 10 at least) team on the field that is in the hunt for a national title yearly. With the Gators seemingly getting back on track, we have the look of a middle-of-the-pack team in the SEC East once again. So much for getting to the SEC championship game undefeated thanks to an easier schedule.

I don`t want to take credit from the Gamecocks but its hard for me to say how good they may actully be . Georgia played like a team unprepared and that is on the coaching . I`m not saying anyone should be fired but a change is in great need . A 2-15 record against ranked teams since 2008 is not performing when you have 4 and 5 star players. Also, I think it is wrong the way Richard Samuel and Ken Malcome have been treated.

We look good against the patsies, but against S.C. we got torn up like a dollar-watch on the spin cycle. Until we get a top-tier o-line it will continue. Everybody bragged on the line until Saturday, but remember…..WE HAD NOT PLAYED ANYBODY! If one (thats 1) person out there thinks we have an SEC caliber o-line, then you have never watched, played, or seriously studied football. Yes, other facets failed, but S.C. (and Spurrier) would whip our tails again next week if we played, and then again the week afterward. This post has nothing to do with calling for a coaches head due to one loss, etc. But we ARE NOT a top-tier team, and up front is where it starts! S.C. exposed us, boys………………

Mark Richt, is there any good news after this 35-7 division loss that puts you 2 games behind South Carolina?
Yes, the good news is, UGA lost together.
How is that good news?
Well, defense, offense, and special teams all played terrible.
But, how is that good news?
Well, the defense can’t blame the offense, the offense can’t blame the defense, and special teams can’t blame either.
I don’t understand, you’re saying all 3 phases played terrible and that’s good news?
Yes, because all 3 phases played terrible in the same game.
So, ff the offense had played well, and the defense and special teams poorly, there wouldn’t be any good news?
Yes, that’s correct, because UGA wouldn’t have lost all 3 phases.

Lack of focus??? LACK OF FOCUS??? This was the biggest friggin’ game of the ENTIRE YEAR!!!
And you say the defense, which played like a bunch of first year high schoolers, just had a lack of focus?
I’ll tell what I think. I think you and the rest of the secondary, and especially Rambo are “focused” on the NFL and NOT this team or what needs to be done to win. I’m beginning to think your performance in the Tenn game was just bad luck for Tyler Bray, and not your defensive effort. We played better with your replacements than we are now.
You guys bagged it when we got behind and went in down 21 at the half. I’d rather let the younger guys play and let them get lots of experience for next season.
At least they’ll give 100 % and be “focused” on what they need to do to learn th game.

All Richt is focused on is going to a Bowl Game and if somewhere along the way they win the Eastern Conference then thats an added bonus.
This all comes down to getting more revenue for Georgia and McGarity has not given CMR an ultimatum to,win a SEC Championship.
Not X’s and O’s but dollars and cents.
This is the samething that happened to the Braves……..REVENUE!
As long as McGarity isnt pressured by the Alumni’s or the Booster Club or by anyone else that supports the school, McGarity isnt gonna take action.
We can scream and yell all we want but he could care less what you or anyone else feels about where the program is heading as long as Richt is productive going to bowl games.
Being a Div. 1-A School means big bucks and as long as they fill the stadium up and recieve large sums of revenues from the media…….nothing is going to change.

Must’ve been one heck of a prayer meeting after the game asking for help in removing the awful stink from the team. The irony is that Tenn was beginning to pound their chests bemoaning how close they were to victory if only they had made a few more defensive or offensive plays. Tenn was thinking they were on the road to being back after coming close to victory over a top 10 ranked GA. Now the Vols are down in the dumps again seeing what a lousy GA team actually beat them. SC is going to be ugly when the Vols play them.

Obviously this scenario when we play a top 10 team will never change. Were just going to have to be happy with 9-10 wins a season and 2 or 3 loses against the big boys. The SEC always has 4 or 5 teams that standout among the rest and we can hardly beat a single one of them. And that’s the way it is in Bulldog country, like it or not.

Spurrier will always hate UGa because we decapitated him and the Gators during his Heisman run in the late 60’s. That butt kicking was light years worse than anything he has ever laid on the Dawgs. In fact, I don’t remember ever seeing such a domination by a defense….not even this past Saturday night. Or throwing a long TD on 4th down in his own territory, remember that one when Fla came to our town? That’s the type of coaching we need. SC definitly had the best team. They also had a double dose of HOME FIELD ADVANTAGE. The stadium was louder than any I’ve heard lately. All the audibles that Murray calls at the line were useless, which caused mass confusion and the offense died. This was all the edge they needed to put a whoopin on the Dawgs. My point is I hope ALL of Bulldog Nation will remember the noise factor at Williams Brice Stadium this year when the Gamecocks come to Athens next year.
