Georgia coach Mark Richt plays part in commercials for ESPN’s College GameDay

Have you seen the new ESPN commercials that feature Georgia coach Mark Richt? He flew out to Los Angeles this past summer to tape them. Apparently the idea was to build something around Richt’s annual tradition of taking the team to the Ramsey Center Natatorium on a practice day and showing off for the team with his backward flip off the 10-meter platform.

What do you think of the ESPN commercials with Georgia coach Mark Richt?

Richt shot the commercials with members of the ESPN GameDay crew, including former Bulldog David Pollack, Desmond Howard and Chris Fowler.  In the scenes, Richt is more of a bit player rather a featured player. Lee Corso is the “star.” But they’re funny it’s certainly good publicity for Georgia that they thought to include Richt.

Let me know what you think of them. . . .

At least Richt will be remembered for something. He certainly won’t be remembered for his 3rd rate coaching.

Oh wait, there’s the Fulmer Cup he won, that’s memorable.

Love me some BULLDAWG publicity. Pretty funny, be a lot funnier if we handle Darth Visor this weekend. John Clayton’s is the best one in a long time. Anybody hear anything about the GT MTSU game, probably not enough vowels for coverage.

All the trolls will start coming out of the woodwork any minute now (e.g. Sonny). At least Richt is worth putting on there. No way that Johnson is caught anywhere near a pool or an ESPN commercial.

If Dawgs can hold turnovers to say 1 this week, I really like our chances. Giving them 3 or 4 with points like last last year will make it tough. Carolina is pretty physical…..but so are we. Conner Shaw will find out…..And their wideouts aren’t near as imposing as last year.

The platform is 10 meters, app. 30 feet – not 30 meters.

Not very funny to me. Would have rather seen the real dive, people who do not know about the UGA tradition will not know what they are talking about.

It’s gonna be a dandy! I believe both teams will play til the end! I have concerns about Clowney! He was the disruptor las year when eh lined up just to the left of Ben Jones directly in the face of Cordy Glen. Glen simply moved to his left without even touching Clowney leaving an easy forward move for Clowney to come in, reach out and shake Murray like a rag doll. I keep nightmarishingly envision that happening again. They say history will repeat itself if the problem is not corrected. Theus is good but I don’t believe he can hold off Clowney. Clowney has added a spin move tha gets him in the backfield very quick, similar to Jarvis Jones. I just hope Will Friend is getting them ready for this one. GO DAWGS!!

Listen Dawg fans and fair weather Dawg fans alike.
The Georgia Bulldogs are going to destroy South Carolina.
Write it down, take a picture, those guys are going to come out and let it ride. By halftime it will be over, i repeat, by halftime!
Watch!

I’ve thought that numerous times over the last few years Sunbury. My concern is that South Carolina is going to come out, punch us hard in the mouth, then punch us again, then punch us again. Will we be man enough to bury the bully? Or will we think that the good fairy will wave her wand and bail us out again without “hard” work. Truly great teams have a blue collar work ethic. Our flashy offense has traditionally been white collar, this year it’s more a mixture. I would like to see a few 7 to 8 minute drives, wear USC down, not Richts style.

Hey Coach keep Malcolm Mitchell at CB.

Malcolm is the next Champ Bailey, he is a beast and should just concentrate at CB, not only that he will make more money at CB than WR.

Bulldogs defense need him bad in passing game.

Malcolm and Sanders Cumming should be starting.

@ Mike-
It absolutely astounds me that people get on the internet and take time out of their day to tear someone down, for absolutely no reason. There’s plenty of people who enjoy reading Chip and found this entry newsworthy. But that’s not the point. Even if it were awful, and Chip were an unabashed hack, what purpose is being served by going out of your way and criticizing him like that in a public forum? Do you feel better about yourself for having done that? Do you have random passersby show up at your job and hurl invective at you for no reason at all. You have no business interacting with other human beings. Please go be miserable by yourself.

“What’s our record when College Game Day is on site? I only remember the Alabama nightmare.”

Georgia lost to Alabama the last time they played a “Gameday” game. South Carolina defeated Alabama the last time they hosted Gameday. Then they lost to Kentucky the very next week.

We lost both Gameday’s in Athens.

UT 1998
UA 2008

But we won Gameday at UA 2007

Not sure about others, know they have been to the Cocktail Party a few times.

I also point out that Lee Corso and Buddy Reynolds never beat Georgia while they were at FSU. He was shut out twice and lost 47-14 the other time in 1955.

If he puts on a chicken head this Saturday you’ll know why. Have never seen him don a Bulldog head.

I hope we knock shaw out before halftime….and we make spurrier throw his visor about a hundred times….I hate that chicken they have crowing during the game….that’ so stupid. and retarded….I hate sc with all of my heart….please richt go get the win in crack town…if not you and grantham can stay there and find some high school team to coach….because losing to sc three yrs in a row is unacceptable!!!

Corso will never be able to do a Triple Lindy…but he’s got the ‘no respect’ thing down pat. As for the game, Game Day, The Evil Genius, et al…clearly every thing Superior does and says is designed to get under the skin of his opponents – and in a lot of cases it works. The way you deal with the SOB and his team is the same way a Mark Richt Georgia team, that wasn’t supposed to be ‘man enough’ or ‘tough enough’ to stand up to big, bad Alabama. Well we know how that turned out…BEAT YOUR MAN AND WORK THE PLAN…and wring a few chicken-necks along the way.

Chip, 30m is 98 feet. When I was young and stoooopid I once jumped off a bridge that was 70 feet above the water. Landed feet first and was almost knocked out. If there hadn’t been a couple friends with me, might not be here today to write this. So, are you sure it’s a 30 meter board?
