It has all the trappings of a mega-game: two undefeated teams that are among the nation’s top half-dozen in the polls, a team that has scored 48.2 points per game vs. a team that has allowed 11.2, the early lead in the SEC East at stake.
The countdown is on for No. 5 Georgia, the offensive juggernaut, vs. No. 6 South Carolina, the defensive juggernaut, Saturday night in Columbia, S.C. Both teams are 5-0 (3-0 SEC).
“It’s a huge game,” South Carolina coach Steve Spurrier said Sunday. “We all know it.”
“It’s a big, big game,” Georgia coach Mark Richt said, “when you’re playing this deep into the conference season and you’ve got two undefeateds.”
Validating the game’s marquee status, ESPN announced that its “College GameDay” show – the popular three-hour preview program – will air from the South Carolina campus Saturday morning.
“The last time they were here [was when] we played Alabama two years ago,” Spurrier said. “Obviously that was one of the best days in Carolina football history, first time we had ever beat a No. 1 team.
“So [the show] adds to the importance of the game. It sort of lets the world know, the country know, ‘Hey, South Carolina football is pretty good.’ We’re not quite where we want to be yet, but we’re up there amongst them, and hopefully we can keep pushing on.”
Depending on the outcome of Saturday’s Florida-LSU game, the Georgia-South Carolina winner will lead the SEC East outright or be tied with the Gators for first place.
The Gamecocks opened as a 2 1/2-point favorite, according to vegasinsider.com.
Defensively, the game will feature two of the SEC’s more acclaimed players, Georgia linebacker Jarvis Jones and South Carolina end Jadeveon Clowney. Offensively, it will feature three of the SEC’s top seven rushers: Georgia freshman Todd Gurley, who leads the league with 107.2 yards per game; South Carolina junior Marcus Lattimore, sixth in the league at 88 yards per game; and Georgia freshman Keith Marshall, seventh at 85.6.
Lattimore has gained 358 yards on 64 carries against Georgia the past two seasons – 182 yards on 37 carries as a freshman in 2010, 176 yards on 27 carries last season. Lattimore returned this season after missing the final six games last year with a knee injury.
Asked Sunday if Lattimore is back to pre-injury form, Spurrier said: “I hope he’s where he was when he ran against Georgia two years ago. That’s where I hope he is because that was sort of his coming-out day here at Williams-Brice [Stadium]. … I think he’s close to being just as good as he has ever been. I think he tells people, ‘Not quite where I was, but I’ll get there real soon.’”
Georgia is coming off a wild 51-44 victory over Tennessee. The Bulldogs’ offense piled up 560 yards but committed three turnovers, while their defense gave up 478 yards but forced four turnovers, including three in the final six minutes. Spurrier’s impression after watching highlights of the game: “A lot of long runs by those Bulldog freshmen.”
South Carolina, meanwhile, is coming off a 38-17 victory at Kentucky. The Gamecocks trailed 17-7 at halftime but dominated the second half behind stellar defense and Lattimore’s running.
“They’ve beaten us the last two years,” Richt said, “so we’ve got something to prove.”
Etc.
On his Sunday evening teleconference, Richt said he was happy with the defensive plays the Bulldogs made near the end of the Tennessee game but unhappy about the offense’s inability to “knock out a first down when we needed it the most to try to take [the] drama out of it at the very end.” Said Richt: “One thing we’ve got to improve on is our ability to get a couple of first downs at the end of a ballgame, force people to use some timeouts and run some clock. We just really haven’t done a good job of that in recent memory.” … Richt on Lattimore: “He does seem to play even better as the game wears on.” … Richt on South Carolina defensive ends Clowney and Devin Taylor: “They’re super tall [6-6 and 6-8, respectively] and athletic; they have outstanding technique; they are much more physical against the run than they were a year ago. They’re really complete players now, and there are two of them.” … This is the first season since South Carolina joined the SEC in 1992 that the Gamecocks were not the Bulldogs’ opening league opponent. “I think the biggest difference [in facing the Gamecocks later] is that we’ll be watching this year’s film instead of last year’s film,” Richt said.

The defense has got to play better or we lose this game. I believe they are up to the task. It will be rocking in Columbia; I can’t wait!
If we hold onto the ball, we win by 7. Three turn overs in this game in the Dawgs lose.
This is what SEC football is all about. We will find out if Richt, Murray, and Bobo can win a top 10 match up again. It’s been too long.
If Richt and Bobo can’t find a way to coach these boys up for this one, it is never going to happen.
Just my opinion…Go Dawgs!

Hey, coach, maybe if you have your OC not call predictable runs up the middle when the whole world knows you’re trying to kill some clock you’ll be more effective at getting that first down or two. Just a suggestion.

I think Theus is going to have a very challenging time stopping Taylor at DE….he better get some help…and that would take a TE out of the passing game. Of course, Clowney is extraordinary on the other side. Georgia has to come out and run the ball….in my opinion. And they can really run the ball as well as anyone with Gurley and Marshall (I refuse to use that stupid nickname).
I really think LSU has been holding back and will come out with a much better offense in THE SWAMP. Big challenge for the Gators. If Driskel steps up and avoids making errors, the Gators have a shot. The SWAMP will be loud….wish it was a night game on ESPN and Georgia was on CBS.

According to the most recent AP poll….they are not as good as Georgia….Georgia #5 and South Carolina #6. But Georgia will have the opportunity that they deserve to be ranked higher. And Florida will have the opportunity to prove that they deserve to be ranked in the top 10….and a serious challenger for the Eastern division and SEC titles.

The nerves will be on both sides. Carolina has the home edge and the Spurrier edge. Yes, I hate to say it, but he’s a better game day coach than Richt. Spurrier keeps the peddle on for 60 minutes. Richt goes into a shell in a tight ball game and won’t let Murray do anything but Vanilla hand off. Y’all know it’s true.

UGA reminds me of the Auburn team Newton led a couple years back. Auburn just outscored ya. And their defense, which was pretty bad, came up big when it counted, and shut you down in the 4th quarter. Fairley usually showed up at the right time, much the same way Jarvis did against Mizzou. The Murray–Gurshel combo, is a suitable replacement for Newton.
As long as we keep scoring 50, and get stops in the 4th when it counts, no one stoppin this team.

You wonder if Latitmore’s knee buckles after a few tough tackles from Commings and Rambo and Williams?
And will Shaw’s shoulder hold up if he takes off running, only to be slammed to the turf by Ogletree and Jarvis?
The game could turn quickly if one of those 2 injuries resurface.

I have a feeling the plan will be to hit Latitmore low to bring him down, he’s a very tough guy to bring down, so SC better hope that kneww is for real.
I am pretty sure Connor Shaw has not faced as violent of tacklers as Ogletree, Commings, Rambo and Shawn Williams. He’s going to be hit early and often, shoulder high.

Look for some max protect, to give TK & Mitchell tiem to get deep against those weak DB’s, been waiting to see how SC’s weak DB’s TRY and matchup to UGA’s WR’s all season. That should be the matchup of the game.
Also, look for the UGA TE’s to have a field day with undersized SC LB’s trying to cover these 2 behemoth 6′6” 250 lb TE’s that catch everything thrown their way.
Lattimore 3.0 is all right this year, but he won’t outrun Gurshall.

Outside of pulling the foot off the gas here and there, Bobo and the offense are doing beyond great so far; let’s support them. SC is a great team, so we will need a mistake free and inspired game to fry up some chickens Saturday night! On the D…this is almost the exact same group as last year. Spurrier crowed a lot last year before the game, and we put up 42 points on their defense, that was WITHOUT Marhsall, WITHOUT GURLEY, I’m thinking of UGA laying bout 60 on the Gamecocks. Then the UGA D only has to hold SC to50 points or so to get the “W”.

Last year and this year we lost or nearly lose games in the fourth Quarter because Bobo go into the conservative mode and runs on first and second down. Then we pass on third but every team knows to blitz everybody usually they get a sac or we throw it incomplete. The end result has been 3 and out. That is how we got beat at least 2 times last year and nearly lost 2 others. Now the same thing happened with Tennessee.
Richt needs to play the fourth quarter like he does the other three quarters. We should be throwing the ball maybe 7 or 8 yards on first , then run for a first down . Richt wants more first downs late in the game he needs to make Bobo run the Offense the same way for 60 minutes.

Carolina just doesnt have enough weapons to beat UGA this year the wideouts have not really been asked to make plays like they did with jeffey last year. With the game being moved from the conference opener to the 4th game of the year is really big for UGA. Also Carolina’s defense has not faced an offense like UGA’s we want to be balance aganist this team if we go up by 17 points are more they will have to put the game in shaw’s hand and i dont believe that shaw can lead them back. Our defense must limit lattimore and keep shaw in the pocket and not let him scramble. Dawgs win but it will take a complete team effort!

Im as big a dawg fan as any but do you really think our guys are “going after” Shaw and Lattimore particularly after 2 years of Lattimore shredding us and our guys bouncing off his thighs as if they were made of steel?? You seem to think our D is Pittsburgh’s Steel Curtain when in reality they barely survived last week and giving up 478 yds to a UT team that hasnt been over 100 yds rushing against a D1 school in 2 years. SC is good, very good, and I think you better come back down to earth, the Dawgs have their work cut out for them. By the way, SC woke up in the 2nd half and outscored KY 31-0

Defenses are measured by the 4th quarter. UGA is holding teams to 4 point sin the 4th quarter.
Just like the 2010 AuBURN National Champs did.
2010 Auburn was 12th in scoring in the SEC, and 8th in yards, Grantham is better in both in 2012.
Also, the UGA offense is scoring more, and gain more yards than the 2010 NaTL cHAMP Aubrn did.
UGA is playing at a National Championship calibre, don’t know why they’re ranked #5, when Auburn was ranekd #1 in 2010 and put up worse numbers on BOTH sides of the ball.

Chastise me and leave me for dead, but if CMR can’t do it with this team and these athletes, he will never take them further. There, it was good to get that off my chest. And before all you “get off the bus” rubes chime in, I’ve been a rabid and loyal fan since “71. I really don’t care at this point. It’s put up or shut up time for Richt, Bobo, Murray, Grantham and the entire UGA D. If UGA plays like they did against Tenn. from the second Qtr on, it will be a long game. If the offense plays like they did against Vanderbilt, UGA will win. Bobo cannot afford to get conservative in the games the rest of the season. If the offense is clicking, then score. Stop with all the back to back running plays. Too predictable. The D has to play better for the rest of the season. Giving up too many big plays and can’t seem to stop the run and if everybody remembers, Spurrier is an offensive genius. He knows how to break down a defense and to create mismatches.

The SC QB is very mobile and also accurate. He will pose problems for the Dawgs all day. I’m not too worried about our offense playing conservative. We were forced to be conservative a number of times being backed up on our 1 yd line. From the 20 and beyond I haven’t seen us playing conservative. We got to run block and make some hole’s for the backs to hit. This won’t be an easy task. I look for UGA to try to grind it out on the ground for the most part to quiet the crowd and throw in a couple big plays to boot. Defence better show up ready to play and I think after being embarassed by UT they will have a chip on their shoulders. It’s gonna be a good one boys!. I’m not a coach, just a fan but it appears our weakness for not stopping the run ( and we haven’t) is our lust for getting sacks, thus not following assignment football to stop the run. Just my 2 cents, but Tenn sure was successful running the ball on our great defense. I hope Grantham noticed it also.

This will be a war and for sure USC’s defense is better than our defense, but UGA’s offense is better than USV’s offense. The trick card will be the UGA line holding their blocks and whether we can corral Shaw from running on third down. Latimore will get his yards, Gurley and Marshall will get their yards. Mistakes, turnovers and penalties…..oh he!!….EVERYTHING comes into play in this game. Nothing can be overlooked. UGA’s offense against their defense. I can see this thing going either way. If our offense can’t find a way to get some first downs in the fourth quarter…THAT may be our Achilles heel. That frustrated me so much in the TN game.

For the people thinking just because UK was up on SC at half time means that UGA will score much more are crazy. Do y’all really think with the weak team that UK has that in the 1st half they were totally in the game? It was easy to look past them to the following week.
Their coaches got onto them and shut them out during the 2nd half. Our Dawgs are going to half to play with the vigot they did against Vandy if they stand a chance. Latimore is licking his chops right now. I still can’t believe how easy it was for UT to run up the middle on us. Spurrier will be doing that all day until out D can stop them.
And, I just hope that this game does not come down to special teams. Not feeling real good about this game right now. I hope that changes as we get closer to game time.

I said it about Tennessee and I’ve said it about South Carolina, don’t count them out! Especially the Gamecocks! Our bulldogs maybe getting better and stronger, but come off last Saturday’s defensive flop and an offense that didn’t seem to have their head on tight until the second half, more importantly the 4th quarter, it’s gonna be a tough day for Team Red & Black at William Bryce Stadium! It’s a hostile environment and to add to the drama and heat, ESPN Gameday will be on location, so the entire nation will be watching this game! It’s important for our Georgia team to win this, going into South Carolina 5th ranked in the nation and undefeated 5-0(3-0 SEC) vs the 6th ranked in the nation also 5-0(3-0 SEC) someone will walk away with an L for the first time, someone will walk away with the East almost clinched. Let’s not forget about the LSU/Florida game either , Florida needs to win this game also to take the top of the SEC East or tie for 1st. These two games are the biggest games for week 6. Scenario: If Georgia upsets South Carolina and Florida upsets LSU then the Cocktail party in Jacksonville will be even more crucial for Georgia to win. 2012 has proved to be an interesting season for the underdog side of the SEC! Who said the east is weak? East has the big 3 this year! Georgia has to want this and more importantly they need to win this! In order for Georgia to remain SEC champion hopefuls with National Title shot, they must remain undefeated the rest of regular season and beat the SEC west team, which more than likely will be Alabama. Realistically, probably not going to happen, idealy though i can very well be the year of the Dawgs! Go Dawgs Sic’em woof woof woof! Beat South Carolina!

JB…if you are still on here…I think the reason the QB holds the ball with two hands, extended away from his body when he is then handing it off, is that this is what guys typically do on a play action pass. So I think he is trying to initially “sell” that it is a play action pass, then handing it off.

Nobody, You can bet UGA knows this and will set some RB Screens for Gurshall to offset it. It is almost unreal to have two true freshmen that good. With that said, they are only freshmen and will have to handle a decent environment and not fumble the football. Turnovers are the only way SC has a chance to beat us. Last year they were better to me and we should of beat them by 3 tds. Alshon Jeffries is who worried me last year. He is gone now so just stop Lattimore and spy Shaw.

Interesting game last Sat, D way too slow looked lethargic and a step late much of the game. Nice to see Ogletree and Rambo back but they were rusty. 1 game under belt for carolina a plus no doubt. Lattimore smart, a load and stats don`t tell the story there. UT hit TG low in 2nd half, couldn`t tackle him otherwise unless loaded front box late in game. That`s how most defenders must approach Lattimore as well. o line provided good protection the majority of game, Murray could have bailed and avoided that sack, he saw LB coming, but overall fine day for him, Wooten couple drops costly. SC at home tough but very beatable but GA has to focus and avoid foolish plays like Mitchell and TG on kick coverage. Must play smart for 60 minutes if so will win. Jarvis should cause problems but Dline must improve over effort from UT,

Spurrier is licking his chops to play against our special teams. That is why we aren’t favored in this game and that is fine.
Here are the facts as I predicted last summer. However homers like Altamaha Dawgs don’t like facts.
1.) Freshman PC. Missing way too many extra points but field goals are good. I close my eyes every time we kick an EP.
2.) Punts- freshman nerves. Cannot kick the ball inside the 25. Even when we have the ball on the 50. USCe is going to pressure him immensley Saturday.
3.) Punt return team. We obviously have no one who has been coached on what to do. Do I catch the punt? Do I fair catch? or do I let the ball hit on our 20 and roll down to our 1? We look lost and CMR should be embarrassed.
4.) Kickoff team. Can you tell me that there is not one person who attends UGA that can kick the damn ball in the endzone? Terrible. USCe is some dangerous returners.
5.) Kick Return team- Get Gurley off that immediately. Not only was there a bad mental error but it’s just not a good idea.
Tenn was allowed to stay in the game by special teams last Saturday and I hope it doesn’t get us beat this Saturday.

I have a good feeling about this week and think the Dawgs come outta Columbia with a win.
As vulnerable as the D seemed against TN, Carolina doesn’t have near the offense that UT has. UT has a terrific O-line that was able to contain our pass rush and open up running lanes, whereas I think Carolina’s line is a little suspect. Carolina also doesn’t have receivers that are anywhere near as good as Patterson and Hunter. So I think the D will focus on clamping down on Lattimore and Shaw’s zone read like they did against Mizzou. You could also tell there was a little rust on Ogletree and Rambo. Either way, Grantham will run them all ragged this week in prep.
On the offensive side of the ball, what can you say? Except for that bonkers end to the 2nd quarter against TN, we’re pretty much running on all cylinders. Remember, we put 40+ points on Carolina last year, and I don’t see any reason why we can’t do the same this year.
Do I expect a blowout? No way, but I do think Georgia comes out on top by about 4-7 points.

I’m just happy we are undefeated and playing the number 6 team in the country this weekend. Look, we don’t know how well either team will play. They both have a lot of talent, and both are very well coached. SC has the home field. I think one mistake some are making is counting our D out of the picture. These guys proved they can play well last year. I think they will continue to improve. Bray made some amazing throws. There were several that Ogeltree was inches away from. As he sharpens, and you get QBs that don’t throw lasers, he gets some picks I think. CTG does adjust well, too. TN did some fancy stuff to neutralize Jones, so hopefully CTG can learn a few new tricks. SC has a great defensive line. Believe it or not, we could have a defensive match. Bottom line is that anything is possible on this game. I would hate to bet on it. We have to wait till Saturday night. I do like this team’s character a lot. Go Dawgs.

Biggest test yet for the dawgs D and their O. If GA is to win the Gurshell twins have to get over 100 yds each and the D hold Lattimore, et al, to under 100 yds. Cannot allow SC special teams to break the long punts or KO returns. Murray can’t fumble or allow a pick. Last year it cost GA the game. This young Offensive line can prove their greatness if they can open the running lanes and keep SC book ends off Murray long enuf to complete passes to these sure handed GA receivers. The D simply must have the best game of ther season thus far. With few exceptions, They have not looked as advertised. Getting gashed and giving up lots of yards to TN w/limited sacks vs TN can’t work against SC. Thery really have to play lights out for GA to have any chance in winning this game. Consequently, we don’t really know how good SC is this year. And, yes, there are several teams that face tougher opponents. To name just one, TN has UF, Akron, UGA, Miss ST., Alabama, SC! Georgia better be prepared or they will lose. I also wonder why Murray holds the ball so high when handing off to the backs? He should take a page from Stafford and be more creative.
The defense is just not playing up to their expectations and need to come together or Shaw and Lattimore will run wild. Theus and the offensive line will need help on the ends.
Georgia needs to stay focus, be prepared and calculated in the execution and protect the ball to win.
I like Georgia chances unlike all the college experts and don’t be surprise if the hat dawn by the “Gameday crew” is South Carolina! Ignore it and play georgia ball and everything will be ok.
Please Georgia play lights out! Somebody has to step up and get to Conner and Lattimore! What happened to T.J.Stripling?
Abry Jones has got to step up more than he has. He is a force when he wants to be. This team has the potential to one of the best every at Georgia and have an outstanding season! They bring the perception the media and experts have of them and it will not change until they prove they are for real and live up tp or exceeds expectations.

GO GAMECOCKS! I attended with a good friend of mine, the Georgia/Tennessee game. Congrads to Georgia for the win, we had a good time. I believe both our teams are very good, regardless of who wins i hope the East will beat the West in the SEC this year! Sick of hearing the east is no good and its all about Alabama, and LSU. Its been a hundred years as a South Carolina Fan that we have a chance of doing something special, and we are long overdue. We have been a doormat for the SEC for too long. It feels good when you are considered as a top team in the country, and teams do not want to play you.

Ga needs to play well on both sides of the ball in 4th qtr. offense barely got a first down in 4th vs TN. Defense didn’t do much til 4th qtr. if both sides step up for 4 qtrs we can win vs SC. Defense has been a disappointment this yr and it shouldn’t be.

Having a balanced offense is important to Richt and Bobo. I agree. The main purpose is so your opponent will not bring their Linebackers and corners into the middle and completely shut down the run. We are going on two years now that everybody at Georgia and on the other team knows that if Georgia is leading after 3 quarters all you have to do is bring your Corner and Linebackers into the middle , bunch things up , and you will stop Georgia because chances are they will run on first and second . Stop that cold then move the corners back out and blitz the Linebackers. There is a reason why we are having 3 and out’s so much in the fourth quarter for two years now.
I can’t stand how stubborn Richt and Bobo are concerning this fact. If they would play the same ball game as they do the other 3 quarters the clock and score will take care of itself.

I can honestly say I have no idea how this game will go. I do have a few comments:
Lattimore is not 100% but he is getting better each week. His production is lower because we have had mostly lopsided games. Last year he carried 40 times or so against Navy due to a close game. Only getiing about 20 touches and he is not that break away threat as much as your guys.
I do think as usual whoever controls the game with the run will likely win as that would mean if the team got a lead they can grind out the clock. More important for us to do that as we don’t have an explosive passing game.
Our special teams scare me but I think Georgia have concerns as well. We do have some returners but like last year special teams could help decide it.
I have no idea how our DB’s will perform and that is a concern but I can tell you they don’t have to cover for long as there is no better pass rushing team in the country than ours. Clowney is a once in a lifetime lineman for us and several more will play at the next level. You will not see a faster first step.
As Georgia fans know our history South Carolina hasn’t had many good years in football and for me I am enjoying the moment as it can disappear easily. I will also say that 10 years ago if you told me that one day Georgia fans would explain a lackluster performance against Tennessee a result of looking ahead to USC, I would have felt obligated to take you in to the doctor for a checkup. And for that reason I am going to enjoy every bit of success we have.
The game may dissapoint but the buildup this week has never been bigger.

7576, I was pleased to see that CMR did comment on that problem after the game. Here is what I think. I think players can read their coaches like kids can read their parents. And somehow, our staff communicates that we are pulling the foot off of the pedal on O. It could be as simple as what you described–1st and 2nd down runs up the gut. I think they have to communicate a willingness to keep the foot on the gas to keep 8-9 guys out of the box. They could run reverses, high percentage quick throws, a number of innovations to take advantage of the other team loading the box.

They have clowney & Taylor.. But where is there secondary swearinger.. That’s it !! We have all Americans & a bunch of first rounders really?? Your QB is unproven & your offensive line is a joke..

Everybody knows you aren’t a Gamecock fan outside of this week. It doesn’t matter, anyway. College talent changes dramatically every year. GT lost to MTSU this week! Anything can happen. If there is not plan in place to win by the coaching staff at Ga., they will lose. USC has an abundance of talent and fortituded..this is a great match. There are chinks in USC’s armor which U of Ga better take advantage of. This week against Tenn. Ga. showed its weaknesses and allowed to other team to take advantage….it was glaring. If Ga repeats this same mistake then the outcome in the game is certain…Ga. loses.

Those of you griping about play-calling just need to stop. It’s just ridiculous, and you reveal that you know nothing about football. The things that caused the Tennessee game to be close were turnovers and two ill-advised player decisions on special teams. And they still scored 51 points. They’re averaging 48 points a game, plus, late in the game Saturday, that pass Murray threw that Wooten dropped would have been a touchdown. Nothing wrong with that play call. So seriously, just shut the hell up about the play-calling. Find something else to bitch about. We know you can.

Lot of negative comments here. I much rather be 5-0 than 4-1. If we play like we are capable of then we can win any game. Adjustments need to be made on the return game. Mitchell can not return kicks of any sort. We need to block the DE’s and the offense should move comfortably. Bobo can not let off the gas at any time. When you are ahead 14-20 points keep doing what you have been doing. Don’t let up. We have one of the best offensive teams in the country and Bobo needs to turn them lose. Use our speed and our size. The wr’s are as good as any team. The TE’s can catch and run with the ball. This team has not even reached its’ potential yet. I am sure Grantham will work on the defense. We need to to wrap up our blocks better. Someone needs to be on Connor Shaw every play. We have to pressure him. He is very accurate but what scares me is his running ability. If we can stop Lattimore and pressure Shaw then we win easy. If not then it might be a long game.
Go Dawgs!!!

The only interesting part of this matchup is whether Murray scores more TDs for SC or UGA?
Really shocked that the UGA defense was gashed so easily by UT for the last 20 minutes of the game and the offense was shut completely down.
The most un-inspiring of the 4th Q was seeing AMurray lose his composure again…he really does not handle pressure very well. For UGA part, they better hope that the two suspect OTs can handle the SC DEs or that Gurley can carry the load.

SC has the homefield advantage, but I’d say UGA has been tested a little more than SC so far.

UGA may beat SC, but until they fix their defense and special teams issues, they won’t win the SEC or the NC for that matter. So far this year, excuses have been made for UGA’s defense. Well, after 5 games, I’m not that impressed. It’s more of a pattern than an anomaly. The Offense looks great, but the defense is average.

Hey Granthum, this is the HBC calling. I saw that poor excuse for a defense you put on the field last Saturday(sucks teeth). When you leave Williams-Brice wondering how you got curb stomped, just remember, I am still the Evil Genious and I own Mark Richt and the Dogs(sucks Teeth).

UF will beat LSU and will expose UGA soon enough
UGA will go to the ChickFilA bowl and get dominated by Clemson.

Finer. Georgia runs a few pure running plays to the outside, but really not that many, so even IF you shut down “all those sweeps” it would hardly be much of blow to the game plan. Also, it’s your LBs and DBs that defend that, more so than a DE.
Personally, I’ll take (Clowney and Taylor) trying to sniff out a sweep play and going wide ALL DAY LONG.
Now, this isn’t going to be one of those weeks where we just have to put up with you not really knowing anything about the strategy, but you just repeat a couple of players names that you have heard about, is it? . ie. Alshon Jeffreys this, and Alshon jeffrey that.

Avery, Coach Richt is a classy coach who, unlike several other coaches, would NEVER go after a knee, a shoulder or any other “bounty”! When we beat SC it will be because we have the better team.
7576, you are right! Run, Run, Pass = disaster for Dawgs (see 4th quarter against Tenn and many others). If you dance with the one that brung you for ALL 60 minutes you will leave happy!

IF UGA dont give them gifts like last year and last week…UGA wins easily. If the defense plays like they are capable of playing AND UGA does not give them gifts or make huge blunders, UGA WILL BLOW THEM OUT….Id like to see a complete game Saturday night by the Bulldogs for the first time this year…..Go Dawgs. Be serious. Be focused. Dont panic. Be confident and KNOW you are the better team when you walk on that field and take it to them. WIN!

Lattimore will get his yardage. GA has not been able to stop him for past 2 years. Key is to keep him out of the end zone. He can get all his yards between the 20’s who cares. As long as he doesn’t score. Shaw is the key to stopping SC. His ability to run for 1st downs and lots of yards keeps SC in the game. Shuit his running down and make him pass the ball and I’ll take that scenario any day. Clowny and the other DE on SC created havoc for the dawgs in last seasons game. GA’s OL will have their biggest test to date, maybe the season, with that duo. Murray has been fortunate thus far this season w/the protection he’s been getting with few exceptions. Giving him time to find his receivers will be key to GA’s success. I doubt Gurshell twins will have the great success they’ve experienced thus far against this SC D front four. The dawgs OL will have to work OT to open the holes for the twins. Spurrier really does have the weapons to beat anyone this year plus he’s the evil genious. If he gets the upper hand and early lead it will be tough for the dawgs to overcome. Just have to hope we have the bounces go our way and don’t give them any points. D has to play lights out. And please Lord, bless the dawgs kickers and special team players.

Lattimore has scored 8 td’s and he will score especially since the dogs’ red zone defense is not very good (allowing 8 rushing TD’s).

Lattimore wont be doing nothing like he has done against UGA in the past. Especially n the 2nd half. Bet it up…
UGA’s coming out party is Saturdy night in front of the entire nation. Look for UGA to be #2 in the nation Sunday. I told you all 2 years ago….”The Dawg Has Turned” when you were all wanting Richt gone. WELL….look how far we have come and how wrong you are. NOTHING is going to stop UGA’s destiny. It started 2-3 years ago. We hit bottom and ummm….UGA is RISING and not gonna be stopped. If you still dont believe, how many bricks you need to drop on your head?

Laughable.
Everyone knows that Lattimore gets stronger as the game goes on, especially against a dog defense that ranks No. 57 in the country against the rush.

UGA has not shown their run defense for a reason….didnt want the run-oriented South Carolina offense to be able to prepare for what they will get Saturday night. We knew this game was going to be key and didnt want to give up our scheme. Thats been the plan before the season started and it worked because UGA is undefeated and NOW have that advantage to unleash on the

As far as Latti’s stats, he basically took the 2nd half off vs. ecu and uab. In the other 3 games, he had 110, 85 and 120 and has averaged over 5 per carry. Latti’s just fine, don’t worry . . .

To Win! All the Dawgs need to do is stop No. 14 and No. 21. Dawgs have to play with the intensity like they did in 2007 when they sacked Teebow 6 times and beat Florida 42-30. They have to get to No. 14 and sack his butt!. They have to stop No. 21 (Gang tackle his a**). Just 2 players! Just 2 players to stop! Stop’em and Win!

Charles Lord Cornwallis and banastre Tarleton labelled Francis Marion, the South Carolina insurgent leader, the Fighting Gamecock. The following battles were fought in South carolina during the revolution, Charleston 1777, Charleston 1780, savannah 1779, Stono Ferry 1779, Waxhaws 1779, Camden 1778, Ninety six , Kings Mountain, Mocks Corner, Cowpens. Blackstocks and multiple smaller battles occurred in South Caroina as well, or along its border with North Carolina.
Why is this important when discussing football. First, its news to legions of Georgia fans who have become used to disparaging South Carolina, something the Gamecocks always find amusing. Second, its an indication of the state’s character and combativeness when confronting adversity. Third its something Georgia fans should try to remember when they come to Columbia with their Chik Fil A sandwiches. Carolina is hallowed ground, an historic university and city. We will treat you with respect, becuase we are gentlemen and ladies. Feel free to come in bragging and beating your chests about how great your fottball team is . We like that in an opponent. I know, we’re totally outclassed by you guys. We’re overrated too. Thats all true So, bring the moonshine and come ready to laugh at us.
Cornwallis and Tarleton did too. We like that. And thanks to all the UGa expertes who are predicting the big win. Its nic to see so many experts out there, deeply intellectual, non partisan and totally impartial. We like that too. So was ferguson at Kings Mountain. Oops, he dayud.
