“We were hit by a freight train early in the game, but we were able to fight back and get back into it. We went toe-to-toe with a top-10 team that will be competing for a national championship.”
– Tennessee coach Derek Dooley
“We knew they were going to be special players. How special was up in the air. But right now, through five games, they’re two of the best backs not only in the SEC but in the whole country.”
– Georgia quarterback Aaron Murray on freshman tailbacks Keith Marshall and Todd Gurley, who ran for 164 and 130 yards, respectively, against Tennessee
“They are really fantastic players. I wouldn’t trade them for anything.”
Georgia coach Mark Richt on Marshall and Gurley, who scored two and three touchdowns, respectively, vs. the Vols
“Our goal at the beginning of the year was to be the best tandem in America, running backs and fullbacks. I don’t think we’re there yet, but I think if we keep pushing we can be there.”
– Marshall
“They had some rust, no doubt, but you can’t replace their athleticism and their ability to make plays. I’m glad we got them back and they got the rust out. Hopefully next week they’ll be even better.”
– Richt on linebacker Alec Ogletree and safety Bacarri Rambo, who led the Bulldogs with 14 and nine tackles, respectively, in their return from four-game suspensions
“It was tough [serving the suspension], but I’m a team player and have been supporting the guys and practicing like I was going to play each week.”
– Ogletree
“This game reminds me a lot of the South Carolina game last year, but the difference is we found a way to win it this year. So that’s a credit to the players improving their mental toughness and finding a way to stick together and make plays when you’ve got to.”
– UGA defensive coordinator Todd Grantham
“I saw the ball well and was able to get there in time. It’s always great to help the team, especially late in the game.”
– UGA cornerback Sanders Commings, who intercepted two passes in the game’s final six minutes
“We were a little sloppy in the first half, giving away points. But this team … is a bunch of fighters.”
– Murray
“It may give me a heart attack, but I love having adversity and seeing how your guys respond. You don’t want it easy all the time. You want those guys to have to answer. How are you going to respond when you make a mistake? I thought Aaron Murray and [Keith Marshall] did a good job coming back after turnovers.”
– UGA offensive coordinator Mike Bobo
“Our coaches told us it was going to be a hard game. We didn’t know it was going to be like this, but we got the win.”
– Gurley
“We are leaving here a better team than when we got here.”
– Tennessee’s Dooley

Glad to see our team make it through a lil adversity again this season. Our D got put into some bad situations with the dummy plays on Special Teams and Fumbles. One fumble by AM was a missed block.???? Overall I was proud to see the team last 4 qurtrs again. I’m proud to be a Geargia Bulldawgs fan.

Georgia will finish about #20 because they have a stupid coach; his good LUCK won’t continue. He needs to refund most of his salary.

Harold,
You may want to go look at the stats when you proclaim Bray as better than Murray. Murray completed over 70% of his passes with more yardage and 2 less picks…….Bray completed little over 50% of his passes. Please fill us in as to what method of measurement you are using to proclaim Bray as the better quarterback………

Branden Smith-omg whats wrong with you givng up too many yards to their tall reciever and i watched you give up when their reciever ran a reception for a TD. You clearly didnt use any of that 4.4 speed you have and just gave up.
Leave him out until he decides to play better and let Commings step up.
Why are we are the team that gives RB’s a 100yd rushing game? Or give another team some sort of record setting day?
Where is the focus? Youre ahead 27-10 and lay them 20pts. Where is the killer mentality? Remember when Alabama came over and was beating us 30-3 at halftime? 44 pts is awful and pathetic and if i was Grantham…..i’d own you!
I Bet if Grantham was DC at Alabama………Saban would be chewing that bottom out at half time. It took 51pts to beat Tennessee. I care less bout their turnovers because they didnt result in points except maybe 6 points.
We cannot give up 400 yards passing – 200 yards rushing…thats what a Div.II School does. No im not happy and im not a brown noser either.
You guys get on here saying that anyone that speaks out is anti-georgia which is far from the truth. How can a player get better if they dont chew some butt out and tell him and not high 5-ing him and telling him its o.k..
Those kind of players need a nursery to attend. Hooray for the offense cause they saved the DEFENSE from looking like idiots. They ran down our throats, throufgh the heart of our defense. Blew us off the line.
Takes more than 1 Quarter of football to win. Ya’ll are happy to get the win and we’re dang lucky to be 5-0. This is no #5 team…… i thought this was the year of our defense. Looking more like the year of the offense to me.
Boo Boo has now passed the torch onto a new leader………Grantham.
If it wasnt for 3 Freshmen we;d be in bad shape. They have saved Bobo so far.
Tennessee has exposed Georgia’s weaknesses and dont think Spurrier hasnt noticed.
1st time i ever saw Jarvis Jones winded. Jarvis cant do it all by himself- HE NEEDS HELP!!!!!!
Glad 4 the win but was dang UGLY WIN.

UGA has WR’s so they should leave Mitchell on the defense as B. Smith is struggling in coverage. Swann is getting better every week and he is going to be ALL SEC some day. Let B.Smith run back kicks and use him on offense. Move Mitchell in at CB in his place.
