This will be a really good test for the Dawgs! But focus on Vandy first..

Glad we sat JJ for this past game & got in a lot of subs in the fourth 1/4…

Great game time, as us rabid fans will not have the pace ourselves so much before kickoff!!

If this team stays healthy we will remain a top 5 team throughout the season!!!

Go Dawgs!!! TOP DAWG TAILGATE ROCKS!!!

Time will tell if we are a Top 5 team this year. Next 3 weeks we will either deserve it or fall. Go Dawgs!

Last year the Vandy game was closer than it should have been. Not taking away anything from Franklin and the ‘Dores, but it is time for the Dawgs (if they are for-real) to make a statement like Bama did on Michigan.

A statement game against Vandy???

I know they are better but it is still Vandy, and if we lose this game it will be a very long year. We better win by at least 3-4 touchdowns or it will be disappointing. The Tennessee game will be harder but our first statement game will be South Carolina. If we can go in there place with both of us being undefeated and win, that will be a statement game.

The name of the game is FOOTBALL and the object is to score more points than the other guy. It is played one game at a time and they are all big from here on. Remember last year SC lost to the Turkey Buzzards and it cost them the EAST. One at a time , one at a time is how to play and the schedule will take care of itself.

Oh boy, my favorite commentators… UT will be a big test for the Dawgs’ secondary. Effectiveness of the pass rush will be a key factor in that one. Glad we’ll have Rambo and Tree back.

DIT — one of my few complaints with Slive.
God bless him, Verne belongs in an antique shop & why would the SEC have a old hack Big10 QB as the color analyst for our game of the weeks!!??
Their both horrible.
Verne gets kudos when he actually knows which team has the ball on Offense.
If you expect him to get half the names of the players right — dream on!

I thought I was gonna puke yesterday listening to William C Rhoden, noted race- bating sports writer for the NY whatever, when he said watching USC/Stanford was great per it reminded him of just how special college football can be. Noting the atmosphere & a game between 2 teams with real student athletes(direct shot at the SEC).

Some people are just clueless & haters!!
USC epitomizes student athletes!!!!…aren’t they serving a probation for paying Reggie Bush’ Family a small fortune? Now comes the news of the lavish gifts bestowed upon Joe McKnight & Tre Thomas during their time in LA. USC blew their only chance at regaining recent glory this season per the NC2A is about to hit em again!!
As for the Cardinal, next to Bama, no team had more players taken in the first 2 rounds of last years draft, including the #1 overall pick. They have players!!
You want atmosphere, I can think of at least 8 Cathedrals in the Southeast better than the Farm.

I agree with most who say Verne and Danielson are just horrible. Watching and listening to them on Saturday was just painful. Obviously, they don’t have anything to do with the play on the field, but between Verne messing up names, forgetting downs and generally just screwing up and Danielson making up rules and stuff as he goes along, it was just awful. These complaints have been coming in for a few years now and it does make one wonder why no change. Surely, there are better folks out there, both with the play-by-play and as an analyst. Anyway, Go Dawgs! I can’t remember who said it, but from now on, it really is ONE GAME AT A TIME! None of this looking ahead to anyone else.

It is time for our defense to step up and play a complete game. This will be the best running team we have faced and the QB is elusive. Our defense has to play postion and not over pursue. I think our offense will be ok. Special teams are playing better. It is ironic that the defense is our biggest worry right now. Every one needs to be early and show the team our support. We need to issue a statement to Coach Franklin. He says the days of running over them are over. We need to run over them and bury them.

Go Dawgs!!!

I can’t imagine Saturdays without Verne. Each year he gets a little bigger and his face a little redder — his days in the booth have to be numbered. As for Danielson, he is one of the few talking heads that ever gives UGA any credit. Granted in recent years, that credit hasn’t been due but I’ve always appreciated his opinion. Especially when compared to Herbstreit, Holtz, Desmond H, Matt Millen, …who am I forgetting???

I’ll say this about Verne…he’s a helluva lot better than Musberger (for an old guy).

Not worried about this one, Insider. Provided the D tightens up up front, the Dawgs should win the Vandy game in convincing fashion. Stacy’s a decent RB, but there’s not much else to worry about.

Hats off to the handful of Crimson comments here. Probably the most polite set of blog comments to date. Give it a minute though. Some tool will ruin the actual productive football conversation going on here. Glad they sat JJ, he’s too valuable, and our offense looks more complex by the game. I’m liking the thunder and lightning comparisons for Gurley/Marshall as well. Those guys are solid good kids (Grades, attitude, skill – the package). We need that now more than ever!

If Florida would have just cooperated and be “down” and “mid tier” like most Dawgs posting this past summer they would be, the the Dawgs could have or would have been on ESPN all the time. Sorry, summertime pipe dreams rarely come true.

Who in the east has a better QB, D-Line, Backers, Secondary, Receivers and RB’s than UGA? O-line is debatable. If our boys stay healthy and play to their potential, we should have no problem beating any team in the east. Vols are really not that good nor are the Gators. Where are they better than us? Gamecocks are really overrated. Have you seen them play? Lattimore is nowhere near 100% of what he was before the injury. Our backup QB(Mason) would start for them. Clowney is not having the same impact now that Ingram is not commaning double teams on the other side. Still is a great pass rusher, just not having same impact. Their secondary is not as good as ours. We have a better defense and offense. Where are the Gators better than us? This is probably our best team since 2007 and we can win the east and play Alabama in SECCG. If their secondary does not drastically improve, which is their weakest link defensively, we can beat them. We need to take advantage of having Jarvis, Big John, Sanders, Ogletree, Rambo, Williams, Mitchell, etc as we clearly have the upper hand on the rest of the east.
