About Missouri
Record: 1-0 (0-0 SEC)
Last time played: The only previous football game between Georgia and Missouri came in the Orange Bowl at the end of the 1959 season. Georgia won 14-0 on two long touchdown passes by quarterback Fran Tarkenton.
Offense: Missouri’s spread offense revolves around dual-threat quarterback James Franklin, a 6-foot-2, 228-pound junior who last season passed for 2,865 yards and ran for 981. Starting tailback Kendial Lawrence, a senior, ran for 121 yards in a season-opening 62-10 victory over Southeastern Louisiana last week. The Tigers’ top receiver is T.J. Moe, who caught 146 passes in the past two seasons. Freshman Dorial Green-Beckham, a 6-foot-6, was the nation’s No. 1-rated high school receiver last year and caught three passes for 32 yards in his college debut.
Defense: Missouri allowed 380 yards per game last season, which ranked No. 61 in the nation but No. 4 in the offense-oriented Big 12. Outspoken defensive tackle Sheldon Richardson, well-known for his comment that Georgia plays “old man football,” is a highly regarded player who transferred to Missouri from junior college last year. Cornerback E.J. Gaines was first-team All-Big 12 last season, when he had 16 pass breakups. Linebacker Zaviar Gooden has started 27 consecutive games.
Special teams: Sophomore Marcus Murphy returned punts 70 and 72 yards for touchdowns last week, becoming the first player in Missouri history with two two kick-return TDs in the same game.
What you should know: Missouri (8-5, 5-4 Big 12 last season) has won eight or more games in each of the past six seasons.
Coach: Gary Pinkel is in his 12th season at Missouri (86-54 record) and 22nd as a head coach (159-91-3, including 10 years at Toledo).

I am a life long Bulldog but I wasn’t very impressed with last weeks game either. Murray overthrew many of his most open receivers. I hope he has gotten the nerves out of his system.
I will say this, the running game looked good already. I’ll bet you will see three different backs with more than 50 yards. Todd Gurley should get another 100 yard game. I just hope it’s enough.

This upcoming game we shouldn’t worry Mizzou is more offense first than defense just like with Texas A&M they’ll learn that crap don’t fly in SEC Football my friend.

From what I have read, it’s the dogs by three. Mizzou scored 62 pints last week, but of that, 28 was by the defense and 14 was on punt returns. I know it all counts, but their “high octane” offense only scored 20 points against a division 2 school. If we don’t have any breakdowns in special teams and no turnovers (OK…maybe one), we should be all right. UGA played a very vanilla defense and offense, because they could and still win. Hopefully, they will come out with their hair on fire for this one. I hope….if not…..*sigh

Ray, we’re #7, not #6.
Did we look good Saturday? No, horrendous at times. I just don’t see the point in making it out like we’re the worst team in the entire country. For god’s sake, Oklahoma barely squeaked by UTEP. We weren’t the only team to look bad. Do we have concerns? Yes. But we know what we’re up against with this team, and we know what our defense has to do. We just have to buck up and do it.

Not saying it means anything, but UGA just released their depth chart for the Missouri game and had both Tree and Rambo listed as starters. Granted, we can take almost all of our scholarship players to a game since we are way under the 85 man cap, but still found it surprising. Google Grady NewsSource UGA starting lineup and please let me know if I am missing something.

This is a true test for both teams and Georgia needs all their players on board! Missouri is a good team but so is Georgia. I hope the defense gets it together and play like they are capable of playing. I believe they can and will be a top five defense at season’s end.
I think the offense looks much better and hopefully the line can protect Aaron Murray and the running backs.
Just play “Georgia football” which I was taught to mean”Hunker Down Dawgs”, it was surprising to hear they are playing old man football?

Does that mean MO plays “old man” defense? Just kidding.
Thoughts on the first game…. I am in the middle, but overall concerned that we look an awful lot like last year’s team. Overall a C-
I thought the WR’s looked good and the running backs. Not too many penalties and no turnovers. Murray was very mediocre. I think Richt’s frustration in his play was heard in the one quote about him overthrowing King for an easy touchdown. OL played about like I thought they would. Certainly not dominant, but they look like they have some potential. David Andrews looked like he was getting his first action. He should be better by game four, but can we get by Missouri?
Defensively, there were some concerns which everyone has pointed out. There were excuses, suspensions, MM’s sprained ankle, the savage heat and humidity, and the fact that we played vanilla.
Georgia would have likely avoided a touchdown if the proper call had been made on a blatant hold on our freshman DE as he was bearing in for his first career sack. That would have set up 3rd and VERY long on their side of the 50.
Still, we were told that this defense has 10 future NFLers on it and this is CTG’s 3rd year teaching the 3-4, and that we will be DOMINANT. We simply weren’t.
Tough to learn alot about the team when playing a weak opponent, but we will learn plenty Saturday night. Does anyone else think that MO will be running some planned and unplanned quarterback draws up the middle? Maybe 20% of their offense?
I’d still like to see us get a 1st down or two on a drive before throwing the ball deep on a 2nd and 10 or 3rd and 6 when we haven’t really moved the chains yet. I disagree with Bobo philosophically on that and I understand that Buff. took their chances with a lot of press coverage, but I’d rather see us take that shot over the top on a 2nd and 3 or 1st and 10 after we have gotten a couple of first downs on a drive. Rest the D. Wear their D out, gain some rythym and confidence. If we don’t hit the TD pass on 2nd and 3, we can still either run or pass on 3rd down. Same if it becomes 2nd and 10 because we missed on a deep pass, it isn’t a drive killer.
Overall C-

Dave, I counted 5 offensive TDs. MO has a very strong team and they will be amped higher than a bowl game, but they are at home. I look for something similar to last year’s SC game. 40-50 and a shootout, unless we come out flat and then it could be embarrassing. I’m going to be shocked if we beat them worse than we did Buffalo. I do think we were looking ahead, but all of the suspensions and injuries are hurting us, too. We could be out 6-8 starters. It is going to take a great game imo.

I think that comment was more so because of last year’s abysmal performance to Michigan St. in that bowl game and honestly when a SEC team loses to B1G team something is definitely wrong.
Still though Mizzou can’t talk BIG 12 is known for playing high offense games with little to no defense except for a few teams Oklahoma(whenever they’re really good) comes to mind.

Chilidawg – CMR understands the art of war. Keeping the slightest advantage over your opponent is the coaches responsibility. By bringing the slightest amount of doubt into the minds of the Mizzou O line, those kids will not be able to mentally prepare themselves for who they will be up against as a unit. By bringing attention away from certain matchups and focusing on the drama he has to deal with, Mizzou will have a harder time being prepared.
CMR has done an excellent job with the press. I remember when our team would have taken the bait with the stupid ‘old man football’ comments and lost all focus. Now with their canned responses we are showing real discipline, representative of a cohesive team! I’m proud of the program he has built, and even with suspensions I know our boys can welcome Mizzou to their first SEC game by handing them a L.

Well UGA has been at the top of the SEC in punting team more so than the bottom. Not sure worst in the nation is exactly accurate.
We downed several inside the 20 Saturday. The only return yards that they gave up was on a punt obviously kicked too flat (same mistake that happened in the CG).
(And it was worth it to see Lynch completely blow the guy up)
Most were very high .5 punts, only one returned. 51 yrd average.
I thought that the punt team was actually a pretty bright spot.
We’ll see against a real team, if they have a handle on it or not.

If their QB is truly a duel threat, this game will be a good indicator of how our defense will play against South Carolina. We need shut down their “young boy” offense and take the home crowd completely out of it.
I wish I could say I wasn’t worried… But I can’t. Our defense showed me nothing to get excited about. I hope it was a combination of looking past Buffalo and the use of a very limited playbook…

Anyone else happy we played a cupcake week 1? If Florida, Georgia, or even South Carolina had played a top 25 team, I’m not sure any of us win. Starting with a quality opponent week 1 is always scary. Glad we weren’t playing MO in week 1.
We don’t beat last year’s Boise team either if we play them last week. That is what has me worried, we looked a lot like last year’s team in many ways. Especially defensively.
I hope we are much better than we showed in week 1, but am certainly concerned that we lose 2-3 games out of MO, SC, TN, Auburn, and FL.
Not good enough in my opinion. 10 NFLers on the defense. 4 seniors in the defensive backfield PLUS Mitchell (though two of them are suspended at present) and a 3rd year starter at QB with more than adequate firepower at RB and WR.
Florida hasn’t shown that they are back yet, USC looked very beatable, TN isn’t quite there yet, and Auburn doesn’t seem to have a juggernaut. No Bama, LSU, or ARKY and a cupcake out of conference schedule.
Hope we can play up to the level of talent and make it a special year.

Not real sure about our FG kicker. His leg just didn’t look that strong. Kickoffs were OK but since they’ve moved them to the 35 YL everybody’s leg looks OK. The pooch kicker didn’t seem to do more than 30-35 yards on his ‘end-over-end-style’ kicks. Maybe thats all they want or need, but then if the line of scrimmage is on the opposition’s side of the 50, sometimes you gotta go for it. Didn’t try but one screen pass that I recall and it sucked, but you’ve got to get Messers Marshall and Gurley open in space.

Vegas also looks at ~8+ starters missing due to injuries and suspensions. I sure hope Tree is back because waiting till the last second to reveal that key players won’t participate helps the other team. They get a boost at the last second. They will have a plan for any possible lineup.

The polls mean nothing until October. If UGA is 5-0 heading in to October then we have a chance of a running the table like last year and making it to the SEC Championship game. UGA didn’t make the schedule for SEC opponents. They were scheduled to play Alabama but with the 2 new additions to the SEC everyone’s schedule was redone. I think the SEC East will be better than last year but their is still a huge leap to the elite teams of the SEC West. As each week goes by each team in the SEC will get better which is scary if you have Alabama and LSU on your schedule. Looking forward to watching Missouri and Texas A&M this weekend. The Gator and Dawgs better be ready.

This game reminds me of the blackout game of the Dawgs v. Alabama. Dawgs were sky-high and all jacked up, and it got ugly really quickly. If we have some of our starters back, especially on D, we will dominate. Without our LBs and some secondary, this could be closer than it should. I hope we are focused. If so, the Dawgs should win by 10.

Yes, and I pointed out that the AJC reported that they weren’t notified until several days after the Florida game. 19/20 year olds make mistakes and they have to be corrected. You can write them all off as thugs, but CMR has helped to reform a number of them. I like that outcome much better. I believe in disciplining the young men, but when you punish the whole team it isn’t really fair. I would rather they handle it privately and hammer them privately. They pay the price or they leave the team. “Grounding” players hurts the rest of the team.

Please, no more, “wait till they play Bama” stuff. It’s our job to welcome them to the SEC. Pretty cool opportunity actually and if we don’t /can’t show them how things are done in the SEC, it’s on us.
Heard the same, “they ain’t never seen a front 7 like ours” before the Mich St., Boise, Central Fl, Colorado and OK ST games? (all out of conference road failures). Fact is we have struggled badly in these type of games in recent years and those teams ALL handled our strength, size and speed without much problem.
Glad to see our team is staying quiet for once. Talk is cheap and we just need to shut up and play better. So far so good.

CHDawg…yes you did point out what the AJC said. And I said that the timing raised eyebrows at ESPN, the SPorting News, and other media outlets…no re-hash is needed. Except for the fact that saying you called me out and that I was being deceptive isn’t true. We can disagree, but we don’t have resort to that.
As far as punishing players….I agree that kids make mistakes, but if you don’t punish them they don’t learn from them. As far as it hurting the rest of the team…it does and it should. That’s why they call it a team game. Sometimes, it takes the rest of the team to get a player straightened up, especially if the actions of that player hurt the rest of the team. Why do you think a coach sometimes makes the whole team run when a player screws up? Because you win and lose as a TEAM.

Huh?, you are missing the point. They can discipline the whole team for the mistakes of a few privately. The problem is that most of these guys have worked extremely hard and they aren’t going to play at the next level. This might be their senior year and UGA’s strict policies might cost them a lot. Why not hammer the offender through other means? If you want to punish the whole team, you can do it–privately. I ran into this coaching kids. Some parent would use baseball or football as their hammer when junior talked back to his Mom, they pull him out for a game or two, punishing the whole team for their son’s mistake. If they are on the team, they have a responsibility to the team. Discipline them through other means, or don’t commit to the team.

I don’t know… I think UGA will lose in Mizzu. I just don’t trust the coaching staff. CMR seems too passive and I don’t see him holding his coaching staff accountable. They should have blown the doors off of Buffalo, like OK ST did Savannah ST.
It looks like both coordinators have adapted CMR’s passivity and I can just hear CMR now in the after game press conference talking about how tough Mizzu played them hard and how they are a good team as he is justifying his team’s poor play and the loss.
Unfortunately, UGA will also lose against SC, but CMR will do just enough to keep his job and the athletics director will buy it. We need a coach like Chris Petersen of Boise State who if he had the talented recruits that UGA consistently get would give us a national championship team.

Biggest concerns with this game are the obvious….Secondary & Bozo’s predetermined game plan….Not to call out individuals but #11 was so out of place on just about every play Mizzou may have a field day….also not the quickest kid in the shop and he is going up against some beasts….With Rambo, Cummings, Mitchell and the balance, I think we win by 10…..without (the obvious) we loose by 13….Then Richt can use the game as a learning experience not to act like idiot off the field!!!
Then there is Bozo’s play calling….never mind….beating a dead horse….

Missouri will keep it close for awhile but UGA will pull away in the 4th. Missouri is no Oklahoma State…and their defense. well, I can say that they have one I guess….same old story as always when playing these teams with all offense no defense. This is the SEC, where above average SEC teams beat offense like this on a regular basis and good teams thrashes them. This offense has been around since the early 90’s. You MUST have a defense as good as your offense or you will get ran out of the stadium…remember UGA playing undefeated Hawaii in the bowl game a few years back with their Heisman candidate QB and high powered offense? Yeah, things didnt go to well for their offense and well, they had a defense I guess too. Talk all your smack Mizzou fans while you can. This is the SEC where DEFENSE rules and the offense is even faster….Your “young boy offense” has been around for 20 years. How is your infantile defense going to do after it is on the field ALL game? 4th quarter will be dominated by UGA. Take that to the bank. Its going to be even better if the humidity is not high. UGA is used to high humidity and that will be like a breather all game long. It will bea good game….for a half. The first half…..
I like how these Missouri fans come in here with ZERO humility. Many are respectul and many recongnize that they are stepping UP in competition level and show respect. But many are also talking smack while walking into the unknown. An unknown with the toughest and strongest reputation in the nation. In a league where defenses are blistering fast week in and week out and the offenses even faster…Odds are Missouri will be behind half the SEC teams, smart bets would be on the upper half of SEC teams being STRONG competition and the top 4-6 SEC teams being big favorites. Yet they talk without even playing an SEC game. I think after this Saturday night, they will have TREMEMDOUS respect and know that they have their work cut out for them for several years. Let me emphasize this, UGA has it tough for one reason ans that is they are the first SEC team to face the Missouri offense live and has no good film to study and see what worked and what didnt work. So that sucks. But Let me be CLEAR to all the Missouri fans showing disrespect and talking BIG SMACK…..this offense will not last in the SEC. It will be figured out quickly and then what? Your defense will not be able to win games for you. Even if you won your first few SEC games, after that it will be all downhill. We have the greatest Defensive coordinators in the nation here and the fastest defensive players… many have MAMMOTH defensive lines that will create panic and turnovers, knock passes down at the line, create sacks and fumbles, defenses that will lure you in thinking you have an open receiver then swoop in and intercept your pass and run 70 yards for a TD…will make your QB timid and scared to throw instead of being confident.
So talk big now. Show no respect. It sounds good but we have heard it all before . The scoreboard has ALWAYS shown that is was just hype when the game is played…..

Murray missed so many passes Saturday with overthrows…..UGA would have scored 65 if not for him being too pumped…see come Sat night…UGA will grind it out with the backs and a short passing game for the msot part and keep the Missouri offense on the bench, watching the clock tick and the UGA defense will stay so fresh and the Missouri offense will be so anxious when they do get on the field, they will make mistakes, force things and be 3 and out many times. UGA WILL have the lead in the 4th quarter and WILL run the clock out while the Missouri offense watches helplessly. Ball CONTROL with the UGA backs….that and GREAT defense neutralizes Missouri at home Sat night…Ive been watching SEC football for 32 years….How long u been watching it and particularly UGA? ive seen these spread offenses/run and shoot offenses come and go for 20 years and all I can tell you is if you dont have a REALLY good defense to go along with it, youre not going to win many games against teams that have a really good defense unless you get several turnovers. So youre county on getting breaks. Dont sound reliable. Not sound football.
Got to get a GREAT defensive coordinator and GREAT defensive players in this league. Defense wins in the SEC. Not offense.

Sorry Agridawg….just a typo. Much like Bitter Troll trying to type Talent with tallent.
I’ll be back Saturday night win, lose or draw. I think someone else said it best…Too many SEC teams are living off the coat tails of Bama, LSU, and Florida to an extent. The rest of the league is mediocre at best. Just ask Arkansas when they had a highly touted RB in the Cotton Bowl. Mizzou killed them. Our DEFENSE shut him down, and our offense was not something they had seen before. Our pitiful RB only rushed for 280 yds against that vaunted SEC defense. The SEC has no imagination on offense, thus it’s much easier for a defense to look good. All teams hit hard. Some are bigger, some are faster, but all hit hard. You don’t believe me? Come on out to a Mizzou practice. We’ll put some pads on you, and you can let me know if they hit hard or not. Should be a good game Saturday. If both teams play to their full potential, Mizzou will win by 2 touchdowns. You probably don’t want to hear that, since you see things through rose colored glasses, but Mizzou is much better than Georgia. PERIOD!!

Giys I watched the game from Saturday now four times after seeing all the Omg comments. We looked vanilla for a reason. No stunts, no blitzes, nothing fancy, no schemes. Do you know why. I’m sure TG playbook is bigger than we saw last year and I’m sure new stuff has been learned/installed since last year also. Remember last year how it just clicked to them better than year one. I’m sure mizzou will have many things they will never have seen on tape coming at them, I promise. I am sure we will also have a spy or a one person always on the QB for the most part. We even ran vanilla plays on offense, why, because more people know the playbook now. Staffords last year he had control on audibles, Murray will too if he sees something. I saw more tosses back to the TB last game than I have in five years, is that how we will run, prob not, bit I’m sure some things we showed will have three to four plays spur off from it and confuse the zou. And we still won’t show everything, happens every year. Ww had no need to be fancy Saturday so why do it honestly and give them film. We want to confuse them and have their D out of position, also of their DB” play far off the wr then we will pick on them. I have noticed the offensive playcalling opening up over the years, just remember how many young guys we had last year and this year that know even more, it will show Saturday. If Murray can het in the auburn game zone from last year we run away with it, and I have a feeling he may be pretty Sharp this week. Let’s all hope so, go dawgs, and please let that D player meet Mr gurly early!!!

You like to convince yourself you are just some level headed sports fans adding to the converstion…..but if any of us were in a Auburn blog every days, taking shot at your team and fans, arguing with anything positive about the Tigers, butting into other peoples discussion, you and everybody else would see us as just another troll. And be right.
Also in term of ‘distortion”, I’d be glad to post the actual comment from Fla Dawg, that you turned into name calling , then claim you didnt, and accused only Georgia fans of name calling.

I’m sure it going to be quite surprising news to CHDawg, that he actually thought Richt didn’t really know who was suspended a week befor his SEC opener too.(despite quotes to the contrary, not to mention basic logic), too.
Or that he forms your opinion for you.

I-DOG, I for one am glad that we played a cupcake team because if we had played a stronger team we may very have lost with all the starters out, furthermore, why not give our young running backs a chance to build some confidence before our schedule gets tougher?

@ Dave….you wrote..Mizzou scored 62 pints last week, but of that, 28 was by the defense and 14 was on punt returns. I know it all counts, but their “high octane” offense only scored 20 points
Think about it for a minute..If Mizzou scored 42 points (or 6 touchdowns) on defense and special teams that means that the Tiger offense had the ball 6 less possessions to score on.
I don’t know who will win. I think it will be a great game with an outstanding atmosphere. But one thing I do know…..I’m glad we’re playing in the SEC instead of the Big 12 Longhorn league!!!

I don’t why, we as bulldog fans, should underestimate anyone! Mizzou has been a pretty good ball club for the past few years. If we play good hard nose football and control the clock with the run game we should be all right! What we can’t do is get into a shootout with them. Our depth in the secondary is a big issue! We need to keep that offense off the field as much as possible. Murray can make or break us this game. We cannot afford turnovers! Should be a good game.

Predicting now that Franklin will burn us a couple of times when we blitz on third and long. That always kills us, for some reason. I don’t know whether we rush too wide, and leave the middle unguarded…or if we telegraph it too early and let the opposing QB hit the slant-in “safety valve” receiver…but either way there are no defenders until after they’ve picked the first down because our DB’s are having to play deep prevent. But it always happens just about every game…

I really don’t think UGA is that good..but we will soon find out this weekend. Everyone is clamoring on how UGA did last year…but your scheduel was not very good. only quality wins were GT and Auburn. struggled with KY, Vandy, FL, TN and Miss St…you continue to brag about how good you defense did against those offensive duds! how did you do against Boise, SC or LSU…shhh. the “old man football” was not the best comment for Sheldon Richardson to make…but all the Mizzou Tigers are getting tired of hearing they are doomed because they are in the SEC. Great conference but you all are kidding yourselves to think all SEC teams are great…even good. Bama and LSU are the cream of the crop…no doubt. No we won’t win the SEC…anytime soon or at all (since we didnt’ in the Big 12-2-2+2) but we are a quality football team that is a good addition to the SEC.

re: Your 11:13
I’ve noticed that about Georgia’s blitzing, too. Just this past weekend, Buffalo got two very key first downs when they caught us blitzing on third and long, and if you recall…last year in the Florida game…the damn Gators actually got a touchdown when we blitzed on 4th and 14. What in the hell are we doing blitzing when the other team has 4th down and 14 yards to go? Sure, if it works your defense looks like a real Charley Badass. But why risk it?
You may be right about our blitz “scheme”, in tht we telegraph it to the other team too quickly. And I’m sure not against all blitzing, or even occasionally doing so on 3rd and long. But it sure seems that what we give up in that situation is NOT worth what we get out of it. I’d bet that if we went an entire game without blitzing a single time on third and long it would pay off a lot more than it is now.

Ding, Ding, Ding…we have a winner.
It is like most of these disney Dawgs don’t even watch the games? Where have they been the last 5 years everytime UGA makes an early season road game especially to anywhere west of Sandy Springs?
They must be the worst fans to ever sit beside at any game as their delusional projections of 56-7 beatdowns implode to reality. Geez can yo imagine the raging rants as UGA puts in their usual 12-10 score like UK last season?
Mizzou fans just don’t spill your beverages during the laughing fit when the ACTUAL UGA team runs on the field Saturday…it will bear little resemblance the delusional guaranteed “NFL Superbowl champion” team of the local disney Dawgs.
Will be a good game, but expect Murray to make a couple of huge mistakes when it gets tight and for Mizzou to take a 28-24 type game.

We have to take into account that we are playing without Commings,Rambo,Tree, maybe Mitchell! We are just not that type of team who can plug in a reserve and keep on chugging! We are not Alabama! Bama doesn’t even miss a beat when a reserve comes in! That is called coaching! Mizzou wants this game bad as their first win in the SEC! I hope we don’t want to be the team in the record books that gave it to them!

After watching the game openner last weekend, UGA still has the same issues with our defensive calls as we did a year or two ago. Yes we have several key players out, but calling the same old plays over and over is causing problems in our secondary. We have so many people off the line of scrimmage it’s gotten to the point the other guy is saying “I thought you had him”. Here’s the fix. Rush four or more all the time. The other teams quarterback has way to much time to throw the ball. Look back in the 80’s when Ga was a major defensive team. They rushed their defense and covered up the other teams QB so he didn’t have time to think. At this time with the way we set up our defense, we can stop the run for the most part, but the other teams passing game is going to kill us! Go Dawgs!!
Huh?

Altamaha…you are obviously sensitive because even another UGA fan called you out. I wasn’t suggesting that nobody came to your defense over the suspension debate. I was referring to the fact that all you do is argue and change your story around.
Nor did I say that they weren’t a done deal. I said that until Richt announces, none of us know whether they will play or not. You can say that it’s a done deal, but how do you know?
Also, I gave you 6 reasons why Missouri would win the game. You wouldn’t accept them, not you are trying to say I never gave you any. You are a MASTER at changing your story, denying what you said, and turning things around. That is why nobody is coming to your defense.

@Mizzou94. Who are you to guage whether UGA is a good team or not. Those teams that you just stated that were offensive duds like KY, Vandy, TN, Fl, Miss St are all in the SEC. You go out and beat them 1st before you talk trash bout them or UGA. OH and we did play SC pretty good from what i remembr. Even though we lost. Mizzou hasnt earned the right to talk trash yet. Go out and show SEC that you are for real. Respect is earned my friend…UGA has a coaching problem not a talent problem…Now im not saying that UGA will kill yall Sat. Franklin will need to make smart passes an look for moe an green down field. georgia needs to create pressure up the middle and contain franklin from breaking outside he didnt really show too much in the opener but excited to see how he will handle a real challenge. gooden and ebner love to make big hits and big plays interested to see how they play the run which is what georgia should do most of the game to own the clock. excited to show the SEC we arent a slack team. Can’t believe the logic that “DAVE” has saying this, “From what I have read, it’s the dogs by three. UGA played a very vanilla defense and offense, because they could and still win…..
Mizzou is supposed to score more offensive points than 20 when the score is 62-10? It’s called sitting your starters. Secondly, when your punt returner scores a TD in less than 6 seconds it kind of takes a chance away from the offense….duh? Dave – atleast Mizzou took care of it’s cupcake SEC Style. Can’t say the same for the GA/Buffalo game. Nice job dawgs….looking great versus Buffalo.
Jeremy

But Dave….GA was vanilla and didn’t show anything. Mizzou couldn’t have possibly shut it down early as well in their 62-10 beatdown in week 1? Only GA is smart enough to play a vanilla game. The only difference is that Mizzou kept it extremely vanilla and still cored 62 because we have stellar special teams and stellar defense. We scored multiple times in each area of the game. You take GA Freshman RB away and that 90+ yrd return out and now the Buffalo game really starts looking close? OUCH.

Dawgs deserve healthy respect on their own due to tradition and as an SEC member but Mizzou does not run the same spread offense as Michigan. Mizzou’s QB Franklin is a better passer than the Michigan QB, who is a more elusive runner. Franklin is a more powerful runner who can break tackles.
Last, again with respect, the current strong Georgia defense is not Alabama. I would not read too much of the Michigan and ‘Bama game into the Georgia and Missouri contest. Georgia should be favored but it must play well to win because Missouri is a good opponent. The offensive and defensive line play by both teams will determine the victor.
