Former UGA defensive back Chris Sanders dismissed at GMC

Former Georgia defensive back Chris Sanders has been dismissed from Georgia Military College, which will permanently block his passage back to Athens.

Sanders

Sanders

Sanders, a cornerback from Tucker, had expressed his desire to return to play for the Bulldogs next season. He was dismissed from Georgia along with two other players in late January for his involvement in an alleged theft from a teammate.

Bert Williams, head coach of GMC’s junior college football program in Milledegville, confirmed via text message Wednesday that he had dismissed Sanders from the program. Other than a violating of team rules, Williams would say only they that Sanders was kicked off for a “continuation of old ways.”

“Extremely sad,” Williams said.

Sanders came to Georgia with great promise. A two-way star who earned all-state honors at Tucker High, Sanders played in three games for the Bulldogs as a true freshman before a shoulder injury sidelined him for the season. He was expected to compete for playing time this coming season. Sanders was Georgia’s first commitment of the 2011 recruiting class.

In reading these comments, it is a wonder why any guy would want to play for Jawja. The only reward is getting exposure to the NFL draft. Education is second to football in Athens. What is so exciting about playing in front of a bunch of red necks every Saturday who only appreciate you for playing football? He would be happier at Alabama State.

He and many other current players and targeted recruits would be happier somewhere else after reading the personally directed hateful comments from their fanbase.

Who cares? Why is this such important news. You can’t find anything to write about that is worthy to read. Heis not on Georgia’s team.

Why’s it here? Because it has already garnered four pages of hits and offers a field day for dawgheters. One more thing: Falcon fans having the nerve to speak of UGA and futility and underachievement? Please!!! And this from a fan of both for all of my life. Last blast: It would be nice to swap PDs with Knoxville, Gainesville, Tuscaloosa, Columbia, et al., but then the AJC blogs might shrivel up and die.

Who gives a s…? Seriously, f have a lot bigger concerns right now, i.e., getting a good president elected and paying medical expenses and taking care of my elderly mother than to worry about some true born idiot. I HOPE he’s black balled. Wasn’t he kicked off UGA for stealing, too?
If you have ever had your house broken into like I have and come home and found it literally destroyed on the inside, at least what was left, you don’t take kindly to thieves. Hey, Sanders, see you at the hoos-gow.

this is a good reason why some of these powerhouse programs of ghsa need to be investigated, a good source said this guy and several others at tucker and other major high schools stayed in trouble, yet coaches and administrators continue too shuffle these idiots thru in hopes of getting the fringe benefits of putting s.e.c caliber players in college, this is just sickening, when will the rage against the machine known as college football ever cease ????

Paraphraising or not, how can you let something like that statement be part of your efforts on your job? At least read it once to see if something is incorrect.

What these haters know deep down…if they’re smart enough….Well, anyway, UGA doesn’t let violations/arrests slide and neither does the Athens PD. I don’t believe for a minute that there are more violations committed by Georgia athletes than other schools in the SEC or ACC. And neither do you’ve got any sense…..oh…..never mind…..

Dawg fans…..(and I know this is a Dawg blog)….but just wanted to let you know that the #1 CB in the land…..Vernon Hargraves III……just committed to the Gators….one day before FNL. And two Gator commits from Jacksonville tweeted today……that they and GatorNation are going to be very happy after FNL…..hopefully that means their friend….Demarcus Walker…..will commit to the Gators during FNL….and possibly others are being rumored. Could be a very big weekend for the Gators….as Muschamp is putting the finishing touches to this year’s class. Tunsil is not at FNL….as he was not at Dawg night….nor at the Bama camp….or at the Auburn camp. He is really laying low.

This good and shows how we get rid of malcontenst that can’t play to SEC quality. Once we learn he does not have the talents then best to cut him or medical reasons to get open schollie for good player. Now we gots space for more new recruits and were getting a whole new Dream Team. Then once the winning starts every body will understands how roster manegement helps to get the winning by dominants SEC.

I must say that the AJC (and other news sources) seem to report negative stuff more than positive stuff. There are many positive things happening around the football team. How about stories about how UGA players spent their summer helping in the community; players completing their degrees; players on the academic honor rolls; players who’ve come from unfortunate circumstances and persevered, etc? There just might be 70 good stories to tell compared to the few bad ones.

I know. Taking the positive route will get one labeled a ‘tool’, a ‘homer’, or a ‘Kool-Aide drinker’ by a large percentage of posters. The vast majority of Dawg fans don’t comment online, so take all the negative comments and ignorance and Monday-morning-quarterbacking with a grain of salt.
