Former Georgia defensive back Chris Sanders has been dismissed from Georgia Military College, which will permanently block his passage back to Athens.

Sanders
Sanders, a cornerback from Tucker, had expressed his desire to return to play for the Bulldogs next season. He was dismissed from Georgia along with two other players in late January for his involvement in an alleged theft from a teammate.
Bert Williams, head coach of GMC’s junior college football program in Milledegville, confirmed via text message Wednesday that he had dismissed Sanders from the program. Other than a violating of team rules, Williams would say only they that Sanders was kicked off for a “continuation of old ways.”
“Extremely sad,” Williams said.
Sanders came to Georgia with great promise. A two-way star who earned all-state honors at Tucker High, Sanders played in three games for the Bulldogs as a true freshman before a shoulder injury sidelined him for the season. He was expected to compete for playing time this coming season. Sanders was Georgia’s first commitment of the 2011 recruiting class.

Jeez, guys, a young man possibly ruins his life and it’s spread across AJC-land (mid-week papers have pretty much nothing to say) and all you want to do is hate on each other about a college football team or who’s a ‘jerk coach’?
Get a life, yall.

Mark Richt and his coaching staff is weak as Baby Tee Tee when it comes to recruiting. Dumbo Weenie at Cempson has even out recruited UGA. It time to rid these clowns who recruits nothing but a bunch of hooligans.

So let’s recap
1.)Coach Richt was right to kick him off the team
2.)Despite what the idiot racist tide roll says, this was not about race but about the kid being stupid
3.)Derek Dooley is desperate to win and that is why his drunk “face of the program” will suffer no punishment for throwing beer bottles and golf balls in retaliation for being evicted from his apartment

has anybody heard whether the Dawgs will dress in their jet suits this year. They are so sexy and watching them pile on players already down gives me gushy feeling all over. The schedule gives the Dawgs a 10 win season this year. But hey better watch out in Mizzou. maybe the jet suits will give them extra incentive to win in this hostile environ.

“So the bottom line is that Georgia Tech – win or lose – does so with honor and integrity, while the lowlife punks, woman beaters, drug users, and drunks in Athens continue to embarrass us all.”
So Roxy, tell us why with all that integtity, is GT on probation.

I don’t want to bash this young man, he has enough problems. Maybe he should try LSU…
Is there anything encouraging to report as far as CMRs approach to Special Teams? Also do you think some of the jr./sen. may be intimadating the underclassmen at Penn.St. into staying? It could get ugly if you said you wanted to look around. Nobody is talking about this factor…

Apparently Sanders made that choice. He has no one to blame but himself. Your pity is wasted on him as he has wasted opportunity of a lifetime. Yes, there are some flakes on the blogs and it’s team oriented. Mostly useless dribble and vitriol but occasionally a decent discussion will break out

@Roxy. Your data is off a bit…
UGA football team has 94% Special Admissions, Tech has 9%.
As a Tech Alum, I don’t like the 9%, and as a UGA fan I HATE that 94%. Can you imagine that? The term “Student-Athlete” is a joke. But before you start crowing Tech faithful, it’s hard to claim academic integrity when one in ten players are hired guns. And that’s what they are, these kids who can’t get into a particular school without the special treatment.
Also, your info on SAT scores and GPAs is deeply flawed, re-check please…

Derrick Dooley might as well hook up the U HAUL and leave. From grades of his players to just about anything you can think of is happening in Knoxvulle. Look at the latest.
University of Tennessee quarterback Tyler Bray has been accused of throwing beer bottles and golf balls at cars from his apartment balcony.
Bray, 20, has offered to pay for the damages he inflicted to one of the cars, so he will not be charged in that incident, police told the Knoxville News-Sentinel.

01HAWK, apparently Bray made a good choice going to UT, as did his fav target Da’Rick, who got arrested for assault, resisting arrest, evading arrest, only to have the charges dropped later.
Those two wouldn’t be treated so favorably by the Athens PD as they have with the Knoxville PD.

Putting aside the fact that UGA has lost out on a player with talent, this young man is throwing away his chances to have a better life. That is the real tragedy and I hope someone close to him can shake some sense into him fast before he totally screws up his life.

I can remeber a time where tech went after these same dummies that UGA went after. Go check the roster when Chan Gailey was the coach. During that time TECH had some of the best talent in school history, but Tech did have some problem childs, that also could be said for the George O’leary time as head coach. Have Uga made some mistake on players yes, i wouldn’t call them dummies because if you ever played football before, learning all those plays and formations take a little intelligence. I will say this, when UGA was trying to recruit more smarter players, that closed off recruiting to certain areas, people called UGA racist for not recruiting inner city kids. Those inner city kids went to other schools(Tennesse, Florida, Auburn, Florida State) and they all won championships. UGA is damned if we do recruit those palyers and damned if we don’t recruit those players. Another note, UGA has one of the highest entry level requirements in the SEC( only behind Vanderbilt, and Florida) thats why some players we recruit end up at South Carolina, Tennesse and others. The NCAA has a minimuim requirements and some schools in the SEC elect to have their requirements above the NCAA requirements Uga is one of three schools in the SEC That does that. (Because of Michael Adams)

The same idiot coach who blew his chance at winning the East by playing the drunk QB against a pathetic auburn team and lost?
Richt actually has the guts to kick players off the team including potential starters like Mettenberger, Crowell and Ealey.

What these haters know deep down…if they’re smart enough….Well, anyway, UGA doesn’t let violations/arrests slide and neither does the Athens PD.
