DESTIN, Fla. – The football games scheduled for 2020 and 2021 between Georgia and Ohio State have been called off.
Ohio State recently informed UGA that it is exercising its right to cancel the games, which had been set up in a memorandum of understanding between the schools in December 2010.
“They couldn’t make it happen due to the Pac 12-Big 10 football schedule deal,” Georgia athletic director Greg McGarity said Thursday, referring to a recent agreement between those conferences for a series of regular-season matchups beginning in 2017.
“And we understood,” McGarity added.
McGarity said Ohio State would not face a financial penalty for canceling the games, one of which was to have been played in Athens and the other at Ohio State. Specific dates had not been set. Ohio State recently informed Georgia that it could not confirm dates.

Georgia has won 80% of its games vs big 10 since 1957, new breed bama fans are classless , always wanting degrade members of their own conference. 4-7 vs auburn over last 11 years, theres a fact for you.

10 years from now, will there be college football? Will man still be alive? In the year 2020, will GTBob still be on the blog? The answer is yes, yes and definitely yes. Well, I can’t be certain about the first two but GTBob will manage to survive just to fulfill his life calling.

Our long-time dominance of the Big 10 would have continued this past season IF our senior kicker could have remembered how to make an easy kick, OR if Coach Bobo would comprehend that football is a 4-quarter game (plus OT, of course), and would coach aggressively for the entire game instead of playing pansy ball once we have a lead!! GO DAWGS!

UGA has the best winning % against the Big 10+2 of any SEC team, don’t believe it? Look it up, and had won 8 in a row till last season.
So F.Y. to all the trolls

Word is that the Ohio St Athletic Director recently took a trip to Atlanta, and decided to stop by Athens just to check things out. He was pretty disappointed to say the least, so he didn’t want to force his players to go down there. Personally, I admire a man who looks out for his students like that.

Never mind the Ohio St. game…………Did ya’ll hear what James Franklin, aka Vandy coach said about his assistant coaches wives?………………Now give the man his due props, seems to have instilled some fight in his football team, but is this guy off the wall or what?………………Call them cupcakes if you wish, but they will be ready for us this year…………….But, you can damn-sure bet your bottom dollar Coach Todd Grantham will be blitzing on………well……………mabe……..about……..Every dadgum down of the game………….Grantham doesn’t take sh#t from anyone………………RED

Firehouse……thats how the schedule is done in the big conf. Do you really think they pick up the phone and ask for a series the next year? Say up to date on things. Mcgarity does not make those calls either. An Assoc AD handles the football schedule. All he did was make the announcement.

You know something is wrong when the toughest team you play is michigan every year. Everyone knows what happens when Ohio State plays an SEC team. It equals a big fat L.

Games between SEC and Big 12 will be bigger deals than any games with Big 10 or PAC 10 teams.

I read that OSU was adding the N. Ave bugs as the substitute for this series. Meyer said if he was going to come this far South, he wanted his team to play a cupcake. Can’t say I blame him.

Cupcakes come and cupcakes go. I wonder if it’s too late to schedule a real game in place of OSU?

A little too much whining about the Dawgs “pathetic out of conference games”
Do people realize the SEC is the most dominant conference, why add to an already brutal 8 game schedule, and yes Vandy has played UGA tough recently, the field is being leveled, no need to schedule far distance games when literally everyone has Directv.
Besides, soon there will be no BCS, the term is dead, good riddance

Ohio St is always afraid to play anyone. That is why they lose every bowl. Are they 0-10 versus the SEC? (An abdication with Arkansas is NOT a win)

West of Athens, there is no doubt that the SEC is the toughest conference. Last year though, the SEC west represented that notion. The SEC east was pathetic and you know it. After Lattimore got hurt, USC was irrevelent to SEC title talks and Florida was just crap last year. UGA’s schedule last year was as pathetic as the schedule is this year. Now that’s not saying UGA isn’t going to be any good. They just play weak competition and won’t have a true test til they play in the title game (assuming they beat USC which I think they will)

Understandable on the part of Ohio State but a real pity that it had to happen.
It could have been the beginning of a great rivalry. On the other hand, with the way we’ve been playing lately Ohion State may have taken both games handily.
