Kolton Houston is too light to play. 275 at best. John Theus will win the spot at Tackle. Technique is key, and even though Kolt is a real gritty guy he’ll flake in the likes of players such as John Jenkins, Garrison Smith and Jarvis Jones. Look for Arthur Lynch to be a nice fill in at the TE spot. Guy is nasty on the field. Sick Nasty.

Go dawgz. Koltn Houston is 295-300 what are u talkin about and heard Hutson mason took reps at corner just to shore up the defensive side of the ball and looked darn good at that. At Lassiter he played db his freshman yr and was outstanding not too fast but hard hitter

@Dawg Rage, I would like to see our OL get a little lighter anyway. Last year, we had the 2nd biggest OL in all of football (including the NFL) and couldnt push anybody around. I would rather be a little lighter and more explosive

Mason throws 3 td’s over 2 Spring scrimmages, Murray throws 1 td over 2 Spring scrimmages.

Mason does 3x better.

Both get MVP????

Richt entitlement program at work.

Give Murray awards he didn’t earn.

Richt entitlement program? Ask Mettenberger, Gray, 2 Elite 11 QB’s, and Ealey & Thomas. They all transferred because of it.

This Spring, in 2 public scrimmages, Mason has outgunned Murray by 300% in touchdown passes.

That’s like throwing 75 td’s instead of 25 in a season.

Yet Murray is named Co-MVP.

MVP awards for spring practice? Is Richt trying to make Commings, Rambo, and Ogletree feel bad about themselves This can lead to more “self medication.”

“That’s like throwing 75 td’s instead of 25 in a season.”

By far and away the most idiotic thing that I have ever heard in my entire life. Congratulations.

I digress. Congrats to all the winners. All well deserved. If the offensive line could ever get its act together this team really could be something. Big IF though.

Thanks.

Spring ball should be fun and a time for players and coaches to try different things.

It would be nice to not have to read crap from energy vampires like Vegas Dog, who most likely isn’t a dawg at all but the usual id10T who posts here using various different names and a lot of stats to back up his lame assertions. And, of course, it didn’t take long for Tide Troll to weigh in with his id10T remarks either.

Mason has improved but he still is not ready for prime time. In the past a lot of his numbers were against the second and 3rd team players.Georgia is closer to having the first and second team nearly interchangeable like Alabama was last year but still has too many gaps. Only a few great player can play with the same impact for the entire 60 minutes of a game so the second and third teams are very important. Apparently LeMay has not shined like Bobo has wanted him to do. If Murray gets hurt in the first 2 to 4 games I doubt Mason red shirts now.

Murray knows he has to improve. He studies and preps harder than almost any other qb UGA has ever had. Richt is probably rewarding him for his hard work and dedication not his TD record in scrimmages

You Murray haters are using stats for scrimmage games as if they tell the whole story. There is a lot more to spring practice than the scrimmages, like how well has a player learned their assignments. The coaches are right there and know what is going on. You idiots that havent been to a single practice and have no idea except for scrimmage results are talking out of your rear. Let the coaches decide who plays. That’s their job and they are paid a lot of money to make those decisions. You haters, on the other hand, probably still live in the basement of your Mom’s house and are currently “between jobs”

The 2nd string QB is always the most popular guy on the team.

Murray was a 4 or 5 star recruit depending on the rating service
Murray won every sngle QB camp he ever attended, including beating Sanchez and other top rated QB’s head to head.

Mason was a scholarship throw in late because of the Mett situation. Mett was booted off the team, he didn’t transfer. The coaches knew he was going to be gone before G Day and that is why Murray got all the 1st team reps.

Mason is getting better and the coaches have praised his improvement.

They see him every day. We don’t.

He comes in against New Mexico State and throws a TD and all of a sudden, according to the idiots on here, he is now equal to Murray.

Murray has made some mistakes and needs to make better decisions.

To say Mason should play ahead of him is idiotic

Who is to say they are not planning on them playing together this fall and screw the redshirt idea?

None of you idiots know what the coaches are thinking.

All you are is stoooooooooopid

Rationale

Murray studys and preps more than ….. yada yada yada.
Murray needs to learn how to apply what he studys. It is obvious that his preparation is not SEC quality preparation. I used to say that the QB from Tennessee a few years back, and my apologies I cannot remember his name, was the most over rated QB in the SEC. Now, it is Murray. He is without a doubt the most over rated QB in the SEC, possible the entire country.
If, he comes back and deserves an apology from me this year, I will acknowledge that fact, and be proud to acknowledge the apology. However, . . . . . . . . not likely to happen. And yes, CMR does need to allow Mason to play more this year, if he is not going to red shirt. I think CMR is a good coach, but he is the Bobby Cox of the SEC when it comes to using backups who show promise, in actual games that count.

This is something that is done by every team, even your Jackets. Your comment must be one of the dumbest things that I have ever heard of

Not to be unkind

April 13th, 2012

but anyone who judges by spring scrimmage stats also probably believes teams that do the best in spring training will make the World Series, and the NFL team that has the best preseason record is a lock for the Super Bowl.

The poster who extrapolated spring practice stats into real season numbers is likely to be taken advantage of by crafty salesmen pushing beachfront Arizona property, and may even purchase a well known bridge in Brooklyn for pennies on the dollar.
