Video: Can Bulldogs overcome attrition and is there excitement about Missouri?

Here’s a little video chat I did earlier today with Noah Coslov of Cinesport about Georgia’s spring football practices. He asks me about how the Bulldogs are handling suspensions and attrition, how much excitement there is about the Missouri game and whether Mark Richt is feeling any pressure this year. . . .

Will be a good game, but we should handle them. Their #1 RB will not be ready, and their #1
QB just had shoulder surgery.

Mizzou is an automatic, and the Dogs are going to win a Crystal Trophy in 2012, no doubt about it. All of you CMR and Bulldog haters are going to be eating your words in 2012….

We are going to destroy Mizzou….they are weak, former Big 12 and have no idea how to compete in the mighty SEC. Matter of fact, we are going to run the table in 2012.

You goobers are crowing about maybe being able to beat Mizzou only because you avoided another butt whipping in Tuscaloosa when the SEC expanded and MU replaced us on your schedule.

November 17, 2007: Alabama seems to have lost motivation as it falls to lowly Louisiana-Monroe at home. HMMMMMM I wonder if you guys will ever face off against them again …. Dawg fan for life.

I was not excited about MO joining the SEC for two reasons:
1. I was hoping either GT or WVU would get the call.
2. I really did not know too much about MO – except they are good in basketball and has occaisionally pulled an upset in football.

But since they have joined – I have witnessed how much this means to their students, alumni and fans. They are sincerely excited about being an SEC member. Their football team has been a consistent winner for several years. Besides that, they have been hosed by the B12 and then by the B1G. As iot turned out, it appears they BIG MO got the last laugh.

I really wish this school the best of success – except for when playing UGA.

Also – really liked their special flat – black uniforms they sported last season. Very cool!

…… and yes, UGA is excited to play MO – and we should win what I think will be a very spirited and competitive game.

Welcome to the SEC to MO!

I think the DAWGS will beat the Tigers in Columbia.

Agree with OGEECHEE – should be a very good game.

As for Bama – most UGA fans were looking to play in Tuscaloosa. But at the end of the day – this is something out of our control.

I’m excited to see what Malcolm is going to do on defense against a pass happy MO team. I think he’s going to be a difference maker on D just like he was on offense.
Also, the bama not so realist making comments just shows why no one likes bama. They have a short memory when it comes to games they lost, which being in alabama I guess you can’t expect any smart people, and if they do win then people jump back on the band wagon.

I am very much looking forward to seeing Mizzou play in The SEC. They may be down for awhile due to graduations but they will reload and I think be a natural fit for this conference. These guys really have the potential to compete in this conference.

As far as The Dawgs are concerned I hope this year will finally be a turnaround and we can beat ranked teams as well as the patsies. I cannot say I am optimistic about that with Richt and Bobo still onboard however. I just don’t see either of these guys ever being able to compete on the same level as Saban and Miles. Bama and LSU continue to be deep with talent and well coached. I wish I could say that about The Dawgs.

so how about our 2013 recruits?!?! i can’t wait for the season to start, sept. 8th is gonna be the day where everyone in the nation realizes the depth in Athens! for some reason i feel like the coaches arent telling us exactly how good some of these young guys are, just letting the talkers talk. but we will all see when we go to the ZOO! How bout them dawgs? gonna be quite a season…i have another feeling…ALABAMA is gonna be happy that MO joined the SEC and ALA doesnt have to play UGA for a second season in a row

Gotta love how the Bammers can stick their head in the sand to avoid reality. Last time I checked their dominance ended in 1982 — at least as far as Auburn is concerned. Out of the past 30 Iron Bowls, Auburn has won 17. Oh, but I forget, they do have 13,000 National Championships!

2012 will be a year that will show if the dawgs are for real or not.

the suspensions are not a good sign as do the commitment of a few guilty players who put themselves ahead of the team.these misssteps will be felt during the misso game as the dawgs will not be at full strenght.

the o/line and murray will be tested early on and will determine how successful the 2012 version will be.

UGA will lack depth in the DB position, but they will have sufficient bodies and good athletes enough to handle Missouri. They have some problems there as well. They have to replace 3 offensive and 3 defensive linemen this year. Their QB will be coming off major shoulder surgery and I doubt he will be 100%. The RB’s are relatively inexperienced and one is coming off an injury from last year. And they are playing their first game in the SEC. I doubt that they are going to be ready for the kind of speed on both sides of the ball, especially on defense that they will see in this first game. I also highly doubt that they will control the front seven of a 3-4 defense, that they will face from Georgia. They do have the advantage of playing at home, but I don’t think that will translate all that well into a great advantage, since every SEC team, does pretty well against opponents on their home field, UGA included, so I don’t think there will be a big difference there. UGA has a QB, that, if he stays out of trouble with errors, and running backs, that can shred a team, can put up the points.
The only problem I can see right now in the game, is how well the OL will gel as a unit, and it seems like they have pretty much got the first five guys, working as a unit right now. They will also have a sufficient number of players to have depth, and two highly rate OL’s arriving for the fall, so I think they will be OK as far as offense goes. The DB’s will not be the same bunch most likely as there will be after 4 games, but they have sufficient depth and folks capable of playing both DB and safety, so as long as the DL keeps up the pressure, this problem will be pretty much negated. This will be the only game of the first four that should challenge the DAWGS and after those 4, the team will be back to full strength and ready to play the meat of it’s SEC schedule.

Uga fans are living in past when the reference dominance over Alabama. UGA has slipped seveeral notches in last 3 years. Main thing UGA fans have to look forward to is CMR NOT wrecking his ford Tough Truck into a cornfield with a waitress from the Titled Kilt with him. If Petrino stays (and I don’t see how- paying your girlfriend with university $ means you hired a prostitute with school $) that would be a shocker.

Red and Black, I heard a lot of the same and have to admit I had the same thought philosophy about Boise St. They just weren’t ready for the SEC, the speed, the athleticism. Richt has demonstrated over and over he doesn’t know how to prepare a team to play for 60 minutes in a big game. Why should ” I ” believe it will be any different this year? Mizzou will be ready to make a statement, will the Dawgs?

Yes I am excited about laying a beating down on Mizzou. We will welcome the newsest copycat Tigers to SEC with the embareassing smack down they deserve for being from sorry Big 12. We’ll show them what real football is the SEC way. It will be a good chance to get our confidance built for rolling through season to Dome as we own East. Then we win 2 more big games in SECCG and BCS and we champs. And another thing is how we will bust out some players to display dominants for Dawgs as Big Dawgs Eats!

Go Dawgs!

Funny how the Dawg fans pick and choose certain years to remember the record of Ga. and Alabama. Why don’t you take the all time record of the Dawgs and Bama. Which has Bama ahead 36-25- 4! That comes out to about a 2 to 1 margin.. YOU ALSO SEEM TO FORGET THE SCORE OF THE LAST COUPLE OF BOWL GAMES..

UGA is always going to steam roll everyone in April….last year it was Boisy and SC.

Unfortunately, they actually have to play the game in September and right now it is 60-40 that Missouri takes the perennial preseason national champions to the woodshed in Columbia.

Hey professor Andy, more like 1.44 to 1, which is not even remotely close to 2 to 1. Bama has won 55% of its games vs. UGA. No one has dominated, but yes UA is ahead. AND WRITING IN ALL CAPS DOESN’T MAKE YOUR STATEMENTS ANY MORE CONVINCING.
