Sophomore safety Marc Deas latest Bulldog to quit, seek transfer

ATHENS — Georgia’s roster took another hit on Saturday.

Marc Deas, a redshirt sophomore safety from Kississimee, Fla., has decided to quit the team due to lack of playing time and is seeking a transfer, coach Mark Richt said after Saturday’s scrimmage.

“I talked to him yesterday and he said he just wasn’t getting the opportunity for playing time he’d hoped for,” Richt said.

Deas joins defensive lineman Derrick Lott, who made a similar decision on Friday.

That makes 11 players who have quit, been dismissed or are facing suspension since Georgia’s Jan. 1 bowl game.

More to come later. . . .

Well I’ usually proclaim us preseason Natl l Champs about this time of year but, I will have to wait. Going to save my prediction that UGA will win the National Championship in 2012 until I see if if we are going to have enough players to field a team or if we are going to have to play seven man football this season.

Good riddance. What’s the saying … “quitters never win”?

TO: Thomas Brown, aka BuLLdawg, aka the “Mark Richt winning percentage . . .” handle:

You need to cool it. You crossed the line with your post that included misinformation regarding past players’ legal situations. I have fielded numerous complaints from readers of the blog about your activities and had discussions with management about the length, frequency and content of your posts. If you don’t refrain we’ll have to take action.

Chip-
What is the maximum number of players that UGA can sign in the 2013 class? Is it 28? Three towards the 2012 class and 25 towards the 2013 class? Is this the max?

Recruit somewhere other than the getto and they will be team players who do not or will not quit.

It’s pretty simple…these guys that transfered really just wanted a way out. Face it…they didn’t want to compete for their position. Let them go…we need players who commit…want to be a GA BULLDOG!! Hey! UGA will be just fine…weak links aren’t needed on this TEAM.
GO DAWGS!!!! hooorah!

This is no shock, Richt seems to be losing his grip on the team more and more as the weeks go by. He has to learn he can’t promise these guys certain things if he’s not going to deliver! I question just how much talent we actually have on the field and off really. I think this has a lot more to do with all the other issues with this team than just lack of playing time. Looks like the players have figured out that UGA isn’t the powerhouse Richt would like them to believe!!

I just heard from a very reliable source that the other three players that failed the drug tests were none other than Jarvis Jones, Isiah Crowell and Aaron Murry. Has anyone else heard this? OMG
Aaron Murr End Quote

To: DAWGS WERE FINE Your info. is unreliable based on the fact that you can’t spell and you need to go back to school. Aaron’s last name is spelled “Murray” Jerk!
