Let’s talk some Georgia Bulldogs football . . .

ATHENS — Greetings from the gleaming, expansive hunk of glass and steel known as Butts-Mehre Heritage Hall.

Y’all ready to talk some football today? I hope so, because that’s what I’m here to do. A couple of weeks ago, I requested interviews with about a dozen or so football players, all of whom will be playing major roles during the Bulldogs’ 2012 campaign. As it turns out, I wasn’t the only reporter to seek an audience with most of these guys. So Claude Felton and UGA’s sports communications staff have arranged to make them available in small groups between now and the opening of spring practice on March 20.

On the docket today are wide receiver Malcolm Mitchell, tight end Artie Lynch, quarterback Aaron Murray and safety Bacarri Rambo. We’ll be meeting with each one for 10 or 15 minutes over the next few hours.

I don’t plan to share everything everybody said all day. I’m planning some features over the next few weeks heading into spring ball and will be using some of the information for those stories. But, of course, I’ll provide any newsy and interesting info right away.

In the meantime, if you can think if any pertinent, sensible questions you’d like to see answered by the guys, let me know ASAP and I’ll try to get you some answers. Meanwhile, be sure to check back regularly today for updates.

Is Mitchell really considering going offense and defense and are the coaches ok with it?

Ask Murray how Lemay is doing with learning the playbook and is he ok with Lemay getting some series in the games other than cupcakes/mop up time.

Does Lynch view himself more as the typical power run game TE or more of a hybrid like Orson?

Can you ask Malcolm Mitchell if he thinks UGA has more offensive fast speed threats than any other team in the SEC?

Ask Murray how he thinks LeMay has progressed in becoming the new #2. What are the strengths that he brings to the table?

Ask Murray what his focus is on this offseason-i.e.-certain type of throw, reading defenses, etc.

Thanks

My suggestion: Ask the offensive players what they believe the team could do strategically on offense to maintain an urgent, aggressive approach for all 4 quarters of every game instead of coasting to the end of the game (excluding the creampuff blow-out games, of course)…? What can we do strategically to have a killer instinct on offense? GO DAWGS!!

Ask them if their conditioning is any different (hopefully more intense) then last year? We need them to play both halfs.

With two very talented tight ends, a questionable OL, and some talented running backs, is there any consideration of going to a two tight end set more often?

Mitchell open to playing D, special teams?

Ask them if they are aware that they should completely ignore most of the idiots on these blogs because they are, by and large, and myself excluded, idiots.

Ask Rambo if he would rather have their offense keep their foot on the gas and try to score 70 every game or would he like for the offense to continue to hand the momentum over by trying to run out the clock coming straight out from halftime….?
Also I would like to ask him if the he believes the offense feels any trust from the coaches by having this kind of game plan coming out from the half and whether the players on defense know and get excited that they will spend 75% of the time on the field in the 2nd half?

I think these are 2 very valid questions….
We have no more excuses this year, everyone should be held accountable especially with the ammount of talent coming back…. it’s win the SEC or BUST!!!! and if we do we all know what game that puts us in…

GO DAWGS!

schmeckdawg…….35:55minute MURRAY isn’t color blind he is MYOPIC(unable or unwilling to act prudently; shortsighted). He will not look at other options and the DBs can read him like the coloring books the SEC players study to graduate.

And yet Murray was named 1st or 2nd team All-SEC quarterback. I think there is plenty of room for improvement with Murray, but to say that A person SMART enough to know is pretty ignorant.

Ask Aaron Murray what he has been working on this off season to help his downfield accuracy.

That’s two requests to ask about the strategy of “4 aggressive quarters of offense” vs. the “play not to lose” one that we’ve employed lately. GO DAWGS!!!

@Beck……35:55minute MURRAY is good against BAD teams. The SEC people saying MURRAY is #1 or #2 are SELLING a Preseason product to get HYPE for the season or don’t you understand that? 35:55minuter MURRAY will not be at the Downtown Athletic Club at the end of the year.

BECK…Bray at Tennessee has a better skill set than Murray he just plays on a very bad team right now.

I would not sat we have 2 very talented TE to go into the 2 TE set. Rome has never been known as a blocker and has never played a down. I doubt we will be in any 2 TE sets this spring. Lets wait and see what fall camp holds as to what they can do

1-The status of off season conditioning
2-How much better prepared will the freshmen who played last year be?
3-The readiness/ability of last year’s redshirts to contribute

“MURRAY is good against BAD teams.”

And your joke team is one of those bad teams so shut your Techie pie hole. Do I need to post Murray’s astronomical stats against the Joke By Coke again Techie? Why do you Techies do this to yourselves? Its like you enjoy the pain and humilation. It really is.

Thanks.

Ask A. Lynch if he knows of any TE courses that OC Mike Bobo may have taken/ or will take this off season that may expand the play calling for his position?

If he (OC Bobo) has not/will not take such meeded courses can we send him tapes of the Patriots use of there TE’s this year that may give him some insight into the postion…..

Could you maybe ask who the team’s spriritual leader is? Who is the one guy that gets in the face of players who are slacking and forces them to step up and be the best they can be? This football program has been sorely lacking in leadership since about 2005.

Ask Thomas Brown what his Pass Completion Percentage was in the SEC.
Ask Fish Hook if he could lend Murray his high-heels…the fishnets aren’t necessary.
Ask A person SMART enough to know…who told him that anyone cares what he has to say. Also, ask him when Georgia Tech plans on bringing football players to a game against the Bulldogs. I’m tired of watching scrimmages against their walk-ons and doormats.
Also, could you please have Thomas Brown post some more meaningless stats from ESPN…they’re the leading experts on football analysis!

Hey Thomas Brown, why don’t you look at the real statistic, Murray’s overall rating is 5th, ain’t quite so ugly looking, is it!!!!!! Winning is what counts, it’s now how you get there!!

Ask Aaron Murray what makes him tough as nails – how he takes so many shots and keeps getting up. Whatever it is, he could share it with the rest of the team but alot of it’s probably his character and upbringing not to mention his conditioning.
