Ex-UGA recruit Chester Brown and immigration policy
12:09 am January 25, 2012, by AJC Sports
Here’s an update on Chester Brown, the Bradwell Institute offensive lineman who de-committed from UGA on Monday for “personal family reasons.” (Go here to read the full story by the AJC’s Chip Towers)
ATHENS — A relatively new Georgia Board of Regents policy regulating the admission of undocumented students and illegal immigrants has prevented a football recruit from gaining admission to the University of Georgia.
Chester Brown, a 6-foot-5, 340-pound offensive lineman from Hinesville, committed to the Bulldogs in July, but he confirmed to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution and several other media outlets late Monday night that he was withdrawing his UGA commitment “for personal reasons,” declining to elaborate.
However, a variety of people with direct knowledge of the situation confirmed to the AJC on Tuesday that Brown’s change of heart was because his admissions application to UGA was rejected because of a controversial Board of Regents policy that was adopted in October 2010.
That policy, created in the wake of the Jessica Colotl uproar at Kennesaw State earlier that year, states that an undocumented student can’t take the seat of an otherwise academically qualified Georgia resident who has been turned away because of capacity constraints.

Birth Certificate from Kenya now that is funny. You can’t hardly get a legal land ownership document in Kenya that has a history longer than 5 years.

The immigration law and policy are not bad IN THEORY, but they are a watse of time and money for what the actually accomplish. Conservatives too often vote and govern on theory alone, without regard to the practical effects or the way things work in application in the real world.

That’s because before the British came and tried to “civilize” Kenya, everything got screwed up. So please excuse the Kenyans for living in natural law, the law God or whoever the creator is gave them. There was a time in Europe, before the Roman Empire, when you didn’t need a piece of paper to own a track of land or announce a damn birth.

Where is Mr Liberal-Mr Elite Mike Adams? He should be able to handle this problem but can’t because he doesn’t want to deal with the problem.
Please write your Gov and tell him to fire Mike Adams!

@TallaDawg,
I am tire of the oil sold on open market tripe. Domestic oil costs less due to numerous factors such as transportation and import export fees and taxes. The bottom line, domestic and Canadian oil will lower gas prices at the pump faster than Libyan, Saudi, Russian, Iranian, Saudi, Iraqi or Iranian oil….with the added bonus of not supporting our enemies.
Obama supports our enemies.

our President has never released his birth certificate to the general public which he represents. Our Constitution requires our President to be a citizen of natural birth. No problem…Just show us the certificate. We are asking this of this kid, but not the President?

Fun fact…
Before the University of Georgia, Michael Adams was the Republican nominee for the United States House of Representatives in 1980 for Tennessee’s Fifth District, but he lost the general election to Democrat BILL BONER who won with 118,506 votes (65.4%) to 62,746 (34.6%).
Why did UGA hire a president who was beaten handily by a boner?

“So lets trim that list down by excluding non AQ schools since their schedules are a joke year in year out.”
27 teams 10-Win Seasons 2011 alone and us dead last of the 27 with 4-Loss Season.
Of the 27, we beat none.
Trim the list down ?
Delete non-AQ schools ? Like Boise State who beat us like a DRUM ?
Like TCU who beat Boise State (whom we could NOT beat) ?

Yeah GA would be doing Chester a real favor if there was a way to allow him to play UGA football. It’s not as if the football program gets a ton of money through TV contracts off the backs of its football athletes. Oh wait it does. Athletes who don’t get a dime beyond their “free” education.
So who is doing who a favor?

You REDneck Ugay fans are funny, so he SHOULD NOT play over a “so called” US citizen huh? Well, if that was the case NO ONE should be playing, reap what you have sown Miss American, you believe and have always have believed that the only correct way to do just about ANYTHING was to do it your way!!! America was built on IMMIGRANTS and even the “so called” ‘Pure American’ came over here ILLEGALLY!!!! How about asking the Native Americans how they felt about ‘illegal immigration’ (did original American Settlers even care)? Don’t enforce and create new laws now that being illegal is truly inconvenient to your comfort zone!!! That kid was ready to commit to Ugay, Ugay needs lineman!!! Why push him away now? Why did it take the scouts, president, or whoever that was in charge so long to realize that he didn’t have to proper documents prior to persuing him????

liberalism and conservativism are both legit points of view and it’s a shame that so many people attack each other like they’re enemies. We are all Americans and believe it or not, a lot alike. Politicans like to focus on our differences to try and divide and conquer and to try and draw a contrast between those in power and those who want to be. The reality is politicans are alot alike just like everyone else is. We want the same things. I wish the people would try and settle differences rather than name-calling and trying to belittle each other. Stop playing into their hands. Stop letting differences define us. Stop name-calling. Stop demonizing. Start orking together and most importantly be humble and come with an open mind.

Easy solution…….
How to find your birth certificate
If you want to find information concerning birth certificates, it may be obtained at the Vital Statistics Office.
Vital Statistics Office
Pago Pago, American Samoa 96799
011-684-633-1405 (voice)
011-684-633-7910 (fax)
If you want a copy of your birth certificate you need to write the Vital Statistics Office a request letter with the following enclosed.
The request for a birth certificate with your name and your parents name.
A copy of a CURRENTLY VALID STATE ID such as a currently valid drivers licence.
A five dollar MONEY ORDER (no cash and no personal checks) payable to the American Samoa Government.
That should do it.
Note: Since this is a US Territory regular US postal rates apply. If you are in a hurry send the letter via “PRIORITY MAIL.” DO NOT send it via EXPRESS MAIL as there are only two flights in here a week; Monday and Friday nights, and thus it will be no faster than PRIORITY.
Just fill out the paper work and prove that he or his parents are US Samoan.

In all likelihood there is no legitimate path or “proper channels” for him to get U.S. “citizenship”. It cracks me up when folks think people are illegal simply because they haven’t walked into the local immigration office and asked them to print up a green card for them……

@Midtown..it shouldn’t be that easy but even people that are here illegally can start the process in this country. It takes years. The family NEVER thought it would be an issue so they were LAZY and didn’t try or don’t have proof they are US Samoan. Still he should have a Birth Certificate if he was born here.

Liberalism is misnamed. It has ZERO to do with liberty and libertarianism. Today’s liberals are big government Fascist supporters at best and outright communist at worse.
Why to hard leftist coop names for things they are not (i.e. Progressive, Liberal)? It is because most people want freedom and don’t support the robbing of Liberty and freedom. The left are as un-American as King George dictating tax increases.
