UGA freshman Keith Marshall challenges veteran Malcolm Mitchell to a foot race and . . .
So those of you who are pretty wired in via Twitter and Facebook have probably already seen the video of new Georgia tailback Keith Marshall racing rising sophomore wide receiver Malcolm Mitchell on Woodruff Practice Fields recently. If you missed it, I’m happy to provide it HERE.

First, a little background. Apparently this was the third time these two young football stars raced in a 40-yard dash. The first time, Mitchell reportedly won and quarterback Aaron Murray didn’t get to see it and he complained about it. So they did it again the other day, with Murray shooting video and wide receiver Chris Conley providing color commentary.
Spoiler alert: Marshall, who supposedly came to Georgia with a 4.3-second 40-yard time (and similar GPA), wins the last two races by an eyelash. But I would suspect Bulldogs’ fans are more intrigued just by the fact Marshall was willing to compete against one of the teams’ established stars. Says a little something about his competitive nature, I’d say.
Mitchell, of course, emerged as one of the Bulldogs’ most explosive offensive threats as a true freshman this past season and finished as the Bulldogs’ second-leading receiver with 45 catches for 665 yards despite missing three games due to injury. Marshall is a 5-star prospect and the No. 1-rated running back in America, according to Scout.com. He enrolled early at UGA.
Anyway, just wanted to throw it out there for any of you folks who might have missed it. Besides, considering Mitchell’s problems with a hamstring injury last season, I suspect the coaches have seen this and already shut down the race track. I’m just guessing but, as Apollo Creed said in the first Rocky, “ain’t gonna be no rematch.”

48 & Flat they have legislated (sponsors) the CHARACTER out of NASCAR. I want a racer to say that SOB sucks and I’m gonna kick his A.. for wrecking me. I want to see a punch or helmet thrown. The PC crap in the interviews after the race are a Joke commercial for the sponsors.

What is it about all these “Richt”-lovers who look thru their “Richt”-colored glasses where they consistently lower their standards because he’s a “good” man. He’s not a “good” man, he’s a “great” man, and a great humanitarian…and I applaud his amazing work outside of football.
But what does that have to do with the price of tea in China???…..or in this case, his ability to coach this great football program to a national title???

3-12, facts are facts. Football is important to UGA, and it’s fans and supporters. It’s just not life and death like Alabama. Our folks are satisfied with top twenty results, and filling our stadium. Until those seats aren’t filled, not a lot will change.

Can anyone say Wheel Route to Marshall at least three times a game, Screen Pass to Marshall twice a game, Student Body left and right twice each. Those plays alone should be at least a few scores a game. Malcolm Mitchell flying down the field for deep passes. Go Dawgs, Welcome to our TE position Mr. Rome. GATA. NO. 1 Defense in the nation. Stuff any team that tries to run on us. Sack and Blitz them when they pass. DB’s set interception record or UGA.
