A lot of news and notes coming out of the Georgia football camp on Monday, starting with Brandon Boykin being named the recipient of the 2011 Paul Hornung Award as the nation’s most versatile player. I’m in the process of putting together a notebook for tomorrow’s newspaper. But, in the meantime, following is a quick summary of the information and quotes that came out of today’s season-wrapup teleconference call with Georgia coach Mark Richt. Enjoy . . .
MARK RICHT
On 5-star running back signee Keith Marshall, an early enrollee who began classes at UGA on Monday:
“He’s a very talented young man. He’s very focused. As a matter of fact, I walked into the meeting last night and he had a playbook in his hand and he was looking over assignments. It just gave me a moment to grin seeing how excited he was about being at Georgia.
“I’m sure he’s a little nervous, too, like a lot of guys. I remember my first night I spent away from home. There’s a little bit of anxiety, but it’s mixed in there with a lot of excitement.”
On what running backs have to do to play better:
“I think the biggest thing will be consistency and maturity. That’s what we have got to get. We played a lot of inexperienced running backs. Those guys have gained some experience and hopefully because of that they will become more mature players and more consistent players. I think that’s going to be the two most important things for me. And as always the fundamental things such as ball security and pass protection are important. We have to do a better job than we have in that area this year.”
On the Bulldogs’ two other early enrollees, quarterback Faton Bauta and offensive lineman Mark Beard:
“Pronounce this man’s name properly . . . it’s Fuh-TONE BOW-tuh. He’s a quarterback for us. Faton is here as well, as is Mark Beard, an offensive lineman for us. Those guys were here at the team meeting last night. They got a chance to introduce themselves to their teammates and got a round of applause from their teammates. They did a good job of welcoming them. And now they’re going to class and getting ready for the off-season program.” [Added that Bauta will definitely play quarterback)
On off-season priorities for trying to get to the next level:
On satisfaction of the 10-4 season:
"I think we came a long way this year. I'm proud of the effort. I'm proud of the progress. But we're still on a journey to do even greater things and that's going to be the goal."
On whether coaching staff will remain intact:
"I certainly hope so. I've had no indication otherwise. I guess I'll just leave it at that. I've heard nothing at all."
On whether sophomore quarterback Hutson Mason will return next season:
"I've talked to Hutson a couple of times and I'm not sure he's 100 percent settled on what he's going to do at this moment. But when that time comes we'll let everybody know."
On decisions of tight end Orson Charles and some other underclassmen to enter the NFL draft or not:
"We had a team meeting last night and all those guys were there. That doesn't guarantee everybody's going to stay, but at least they were all there. I guess it means they aren't 100 percent sure what they're going to do. When is everybody going to decide and have some finality to it? I don't know. Certainly they have to have it by the deadline. I think there's some guys who's heads are spinning still and they're not 100 percent sure what they're going to do.
"There's a bunch of them staying, but I can't sit here and say every guy has nailed it down."
On decision of sophomore cornerback Jordan Love to transfer:
"I just want to say that I really appreciate everything Jordan contributed to Georgia. He's a great kid and I really wish him well." [Knows of no one else leaving]
On whether they’ll sign full allotment of 25 scholarships in recruiting:
“That’s the hope. We’ll see. There’s a lot of things to do and there’s still a lot of great players out there. There’s a lot of decisions to be made. We’re just working our tails off trying to finish this class off as best we can. We’re going to have to wait and see if we get the full allotment or not. But we’ll be shooting for it.”
Goals for 2012 season:
“As always, we want to compete in such a way and prepare in such a way that we’ve got a chance to win every time we go out there. The goals aren’t going to change. We want to win the East. If you win the East and you win the SEC, you’ve got a shot at the next one. So, you know, that’s not going to change for us.”
ALSO:
Offensive lineman Trinton Sturdivant is not expected to return for a sixth season. . . . No changes forthcoming in Strength & conditioning. . . . Spring practice will begin the week after UGA’s spring break [around March 19). . . . Richt favors the $2,000 stipend for student-athletes.

We can improve, and it starts with the O-line run-blocking. Sounds elementary, but we just couldn’t get a run game going at all. Granted, someone needs to tell I.C. to turn the boot upside down; the directions are on the heel. The p*ss will come right out. However, our run blocking against better teams was atrocious. They’re big, so they’re either not as talented as we thought or have not been coached up. I wish Marshall all the success in the world. When the line sees a back will run hard for them, it inspires them. When a back sees the line will block for him, it inspires him. Since running the ball is paramount in the SEC, maybe Marshall can proved the spark, discipline, and effort to make it happen.

Chip — in the category of “Improving Georgia’s Coaching”, do you know if Coach Richt has the defensive and offensive coaches scheme against each other during the off-season, to identify our weaknesses and predictability, so that we can overcome them? If not, it seems like a great way for both staffs to improve their decision-making. If Coach Grantham could analyze Bobo’s offense and play-calling, and tell him how HE would stop our offense, would it not help Coach Bobo to improve his performance??? Our in-game offensive adjustments and the lack thereof seem to be killing us against the better teams on our schedule. Just an idea………

I hope if Coach Richt keeps Coach Bobo on his staff he changes the offensive play calling to be more creative. Coach Bobo should look at what Boise, TCU, Florida, LSU, Alabama, and Texas Tech does and incorporate some of the their styple of play. No more running backs up the middle if the offensive line isn’t getting movement on the opposing defense. What happen to Georgia running slants across the field ? They have the speedy receivers to do this.
I hope Bobo takes the job of special teams/qb coach and Georgia goes and gets a top offensive coach that has had success and maybe Bobo could assist him until he gets up to speed.
I hope Georgia starts getting some of the top recruits they have targeted especially Jenkins, Whitehead, Young, Mobley, Gurley, Davis Patterson Wright, Caleb, Tomlinson, Agholor and hopefully M.Anderson. I hope some start commiting soon and thanks to those that have already committed to Georgia. Georgia needs all of you guys and to join those juniors and others that might be coming back could lead to something very exciting for Georgia next year and years to come!
P.S. Congradulations to Coach Van Gorder on the Auburn job.. Wish him all the best except when Auburn plays Georgia.

We need to have a gameplan for Aaron Murray in 2012, where he stays AS LONG AS PROTECTS THE BALL AND PUTS UP POINTS. but if he starts turning the ball over, we need to insert Lemay. I think Lemay will get his chance in the South Carolina game, Murray has really struggled in both of those, and I don’t see Richt wanting to let that game be lost again for the 3rd straight year because of poor QB play.

Goals for the 2012 season? How about better ball security for the Quarterback? I just don’t hear anyone in Athens saying this is a problem . Goes all the way back to the Florida game in 2010, if not before. A more potent runnning game will help, but that is not the entire solution. Murray has to eliminate the fumbles and Int’s. We will never win a championship if this problem persists.

I do think Lemay will get a few series in each game, but I think he’ll win the starting position in the South Carolina game, when Murray has another turnover meltdown and Lemay comes in and leads the team to victory, much like Jefferson did this year for LSU.
I think if Lemay gets a chance in the 4th quarter, his poise and leadership will REALLY surprise people.

Brian VanGorder to Auburn as Defensive Coordinator.
Recall, if you will, that Brian VanGorder took a demotion to linebackers coach at the Jacksonville NFL team, to leave Mark Richt. I said then as I do now that JAX had great linebackers, and didn’t need Brian VanGorder. So, why did he leave, I asked then and now ?
Why ?
Keith Marshall. Put me down if he doesn’t get 4,000 yards 2012, 2013, 2014 and Declare, please say I was wrong.
Isaiah Crowell, straigten-up. I would like to have you both, sir. Screw-up, give up your # 1 dual jersey. Myself, I only need one go-to TB. I have mine Isaiah Crowell. Now, if you want to be the 2nd, I have no problem with that. Not with your baggage sir. None of it.

True, didn’t do it with Mason, but I don’t think they were as confident in Mason’s poise and leadership skills, but in 2011 Murray finished 11th in sacks (32), and 11th in intercpetions (14), something has to give, and you have to get more competition at the position, like DJ gave to Greene, Murray will either improve, or wilt with competition from Lemay.

I’m not so sure. LSU has a whole bunch of terrific running backs. Keeps them fresh. I think they could all be there for 1 year, then 1 or 2 might transfer if they don’t get enough reps.
The template to win the SEC is:
1) Multiple great running backs (Bama Ingram/Richardson, LSU has 4)
2) Great defensive line
3) Don’t turn the ball over
You don’t win the SEC with a great passing QB, or great pass defense.

Way to go Brandon Boykin. I still say he is going to be running back in the League. I would have played him at running back the whole entire time while we struggled instead, with no running game all these years and years and years.
Notice he doesn’t do drugs. Notice he plays all game. Notice he graduates. Notice he gets Award. Notice he is a DGD. Notice he stayed all 4 years. Notice he is 1st Round Draft Pick. Notice he will get millions. Notice he will play in the League. Notice, as I said each time, that he should have played RB instead of Caleb King I called for every time Caleb pulled his stunts. Notice I did the same with Isaiah Crowell calling him to be moved to RB. Notice I have said this the last 3 years. Notice when all the RB got injured, I called for it again. This is a RB in the League. That’s my 2 cents.

Bobo is a very lucky man, for if he played FOR ANY other SEC school, he’d be gone. That position coach job is too high profile , and when you don’t win big, the OC is the biggest culprit.
Richt likes Bobo because Bobo is just a puppet to run his system with no blow back. Very good coach’s want ideas, creativity and aggressive coaching. Richt is stuck from hiring a large talent for all to see and say, I told you.

Coach Richt is not the AD, The AD will decide with or without Coach Richt’s approval whether or not to make coaching changes, Greg McGarity has to know that his job is also at stake if Georgia continues to lose every important game they play, I would think that if any changes are to be made it will happen before spring practice starts in March, If Bobo is still OC at that time then we will know that McGarity has gone all in with Richt and Bobo, Putting his job on the line with Richt and Bobo, Hope he didn’t cut his ties with Fla, He may need a job.

We have been SUPER sloppy on offense.
Offense:
32 sacks. QB has to release quickly in SEC.
11 fumbles lost.

6.5 negative rush plays per game (gave up 90+ tackles for loss)
Imagine if we could clean that up.

Self preservation will set in with Richt eventually, and over rule his lack of common sense.
Then, out of depseration, he’ll have to open up competition at QB. Just can’t have the QB turning the ball over so many times against South Carolina last 2 years, SEC East opponent. If Murray starts melting down again against South Carolina for thye 3rd straight year, Richt will pull him pretty early, before the game gets out of hand.

The devil is in the details for UGA recruiting our own state. This state produces about 150 real D1 prospects every year, and about 15-20 of those are pure blue chip, go where I wanna go type players. Richt needs to improve his numbers with THAT group. We get 3-6 of those kids and we need to get 7-10 of them. Over a 4 year period, that’s 20 more really good “Boykin-Jarvis Jones” types in the program. That’s a game changer.

Now, that I look at the question we could have an issue on the wording of that. How many field goals does Bama miss ? I put 1. Boise State points scored, I put 64. About drug tests, UGA and UK already have the toughest disciplinary measures in the SEC. Only schools that make a player sit out on first failure. Players on other schools can flunk a test and the public would never know it. Have to fail a second one before any games are missed.

I want to hear him say “Our goal is to win the BCS. It’s that simple. That is our goal. Winning a BCS Title means you probably won your division and the conference so while those are all nice things to win, I am not satisfied until we win a National Title”

“I really like Coach Richt. He is a really nice person,” 6’ 3” 290 lbs expected to Start OT 2012 Mark Beard said, although not on campus yet as expected.
I like Mark Richt. The recruits like Mark Richt. Our players love Mark Richt. No one has ever said that he doesn’t like Mark Richt. He is a good husband and has a great wife. He has a great family. His family and his friends love the guy. I’m sorry but this is not his weakness. It is his STRENGTH. Mark Richt is a WORLD-CLASS RECRUITER.
There are only 2 Recruiting Rankings’ Services. There ever only have been 2. ESPN is weird on their rankings system and do not conform to the same exact attempts at accurately reporting their players, although their overall view is no different from Scout.com and Rivals. Is Tom Lemming still giving out 6-Stars ? What the blazes is a 6-Star recruit ? Better than a 5-Star ? Are 5-Star really 4-Star then ? What are 4-Star, really 3-Star ? Report the Nike times if you know them. Ok, sell your stupid articles to a buy on the Internet failed model of that which is readily available online free in this Free America. I’m not paying you for it. There is nothing I cannot find on the Internet. Free. It is what it is.
Take the 2 rankings’ services Scout.com and Rivals (sold out) for Mark Richt in his 12 years here. See his ranking for each service that year. Add them up. Divide by 24.
# 7 recruiting rank all 12 years averaging both Scout.com and Rivals.
# 2 compare this to all 120 schools over 12 years.
Mark Richt has UGA at # 2 nation in Recruiting over these 12 years.
IT IS HIS STRENGTH.
You just cannot come in here and say Mark Richt cannot recruit.
Or, that he needs to recruit better.
This is not an issue to discuss if you do not want Mark Richt to get his contract extension, which he is going to get through 2015 at least. Maybe 2016.
________________________________________________________________
In fact, it is the MAIN REASON WHY I WANT TO RETAIN MARK RICHT.
________________________________________________________________
Here, I differ with the Richt-0-Files. I believe that Mark Richt has MANY AREAS TO IMPROVE. Hiring decisions. Discipline. Preparing Back-up Quarterbacks. Playing Favorites. Unequal Discipline for same Offenses, or WAY WORSE. Preferential Treatment. Total Inability to Motivate and only rarely bringing in a MOTIVATIONAL SPEAKER. Wardrobe changes that just must stop totally forever, with no modification of 1 uni for 1 game and another for the next game. If you are going to tweak our uni, get it approved and add a drop of blood on helmet for Erk Russell. No Clown Power Ranger suits. And, no telling us that the players WANT THE CLOWN POWER RANGER SUITS. Cease with the lies. Tell it like it is. Don’t tell us you are the # 4 best football coach in all of America. There are 10 college football coaches who have WON THREE (3) NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS. Nick Saban for example. Mark Richt has -0-. Mark Richt all 11 seasons, has an average NCAA Total Offense Rankings of # 52 NCAA Total Offense all 11 years. If you want to talk about WIN TOTALS, then put up the rankings of the teams you beat that season, or indeed all 12 seasons now. 10-Win Seasons means nothing
27 teams 2011 season won 10 games. We lost 4 games. I am sorry DISNEYdawgs.com, that is NOT a GOOD SEASON.
He didn’t say VERY GOOD SEASON.
He said it is a GOOD SEASON.
Let’s get some definitions around here.
27 teams did what you say is good and you LOST 4 games and BEAT NONE of the other 26.
(1) Win 10-games is NOT a measure of a GOOD SEASON.
(2) It could be. Depends on who you beat and who you lost to.
(3) Les Miles called LSU’s season a tremendous winning season after the loss.
(4) Les Miles is right. He beat 3 teams finishing top 10. He lost to # 1.
(5) Les Miles also beat the eventual # 1 (AL was the better team that time too.)
(6) Teams who lose to teams not finishing top 25 did not have a good season.
(7) Well maybe if they win 13 and lose 1 and that was to a cupcake.
(8) Okie State did that this season, and this is why AL played and NOT them.
(9) Okie State had an excellent season.
(10) LSU had a tremendous winning season.
(11) Alabama won Nick Saban his 3rd BCS NC.
(12) Definitions of good, excellent, and tremendous winning season.
(13) Those are words for those who did NOT win the BCS NC.
8-1 SEC in BCS NC Games is total unadulterated BS. The SEC has played in 8 BCS NC Games and WON ALL EIGHT (8.) We are NOT 8-1.
Ok, congratulations to Alabama – NC # 9.
We have 1, and that was 32 years ago. Alabama has 9.
Georgia tek has -0-. And, their whining about 23 years ago is hogwash. When the Coaches’ Poll has any meaning in college football, please wake me up. As for their claims of 5 NC, Georgia has 6 NC by the very same POLLS that Georgia tek claims 5. So maybe they claim 6. When I study the Official NCAA Football FBS 1-A Records Book I purchased a copy of and own, I find that the VERY SAME POLLS that Georgia tek is listed by a NC 6 times, has UGA listed 6 times as well. There is NONE OF THIS BS that Georgia tek has 6 and UGA 1, or 2. Or that Georgia tek has 4 and UGA 2. It’s not how it is AT ALL.

ugab, He did say that he was NOT going to hire a special teams’ coach already, straight up. He said it yesterday, sir.
J.D. who won The SEC Title this season ? Who is the best team in The SEC ? Was this a DOWN SEASON for The SEC ? Has The SEC had a DOWN SEASON after 2002 ? Did The SEC have a DOWN SEASON in 2002 ?
I still say 13-1 and we will not have beat anyone to have done so.
We went 10-2 this season ? What kind of crap is that ?
You predict we will go 10-2 and lose to 2 of these : 1 cupcake Missouri whom you know nothing about, 2 Auburn who has a lot of rebuilding to do players and staff and beat only USCe whom we should have beat too and hired a DC who I said wasn’t that great here and wasn’t that great with the Falcons either and no OC yet, 3 Florida who has a lot of rebuilding to do players and staff, and 4 USCe. I doubt seriously if any of the 12 regular season games are against a single team who ends up top 25 – maybe 1.
Don’t give me this 10-2 crudola. We will play a 14-game season. We better get a DIFFERENT QB in EVERY GAME taking some MEANINGFUL STARTS. Don’t tell me we had a good season losing to all 4 teams ending in the top 25, winning 10 games like 27 teams did this season and us not beating any of the 26 other 10-win teams.
That AIN’T GOOD.
Now, to all

how is that working out for you ?

Yes, you beat us. You also ended up higher ranked than us. And, you played in a better bowl game than us. And, you won your bowl game. But, I wouldn’t say that Nebraska is better than Michigan State; in fact, the opposite. And, I wouldn’t say that Steve Spurrier owns Mark Richt; in fact, the opposite. And, I wouldn’t say USCe is better than UGA all-time; in fact, the opposite. And, I would not say that I particularly like the way SOS yanks his QB around every game; in fact, the opposite. And, I would not say that I particularly like the way SOS dealt with Steven Garcia; in fact, he should have been sent packing long before he finally was. And, I would not give the impression that your fan base is more behind your program than our fan base is behind our program; in fact, the complete opposite. Why don’t you’ll go to the games, if you are doing so much better than we ?

Both Defenses are top-shelf, without a doubt. Both teams have a ton of talent, without a doubt. Both teams have 1st class special teams, without a doubt. An offense cannot be measured in yards, points scored, or touchdown passes. It just cannot. The quicker we ‘Dawg Nation learn that fact, the better we will be as fans, assisting our program to accomplish its actual goals of being the top-ranked team. It is the ONLY OBJECTIVE. Tim Tebow is not a great QB because 1 game he throws passes for a TD, and took the last 3 games off prior to that – by the same exact measure. If you look at the truly great quarterbacks, they do NOT fumble the ball after running for 1 yard, they do not get into game-winning situations and throw their interceptions only then, and when they are at the 15-yard line with no time-outs left and a minute to go in the game, they calmly coolly direct the team down the field as the On-Field General and score. And, they beat the truly great teams, not some cruddy win over an 8-5 team or 2 cruddy wins over 2 teams going 8-5 no one thinks is any good whatsoever – especially you yourself.
We have a sorry schedule next season. There may be 1 team who ends up in the top 25 of all the regular season games. And, then again, there might be none of the opponents of all the regular season games next season who end up in the top 25 at all.
How many yards we throw for against them, how many touchdown passes we throw against them, without discussing a college Quarterback has to be able to RUN the football and do so consistently WITHOUT 21 FUMBLES in 27 Starts, and has to be able to consistently NOT over-throw and throw behind his receivers and without discussing his 22 INTERCEPTIONS in 27 games, and without discussing he has LOST 41 PERCENT OF HIS STARTS 11 OF 27 INCLUDING EVERY GAME AGAINST EVERY TEAM WHO ENDED UP TOP 25 in his entire f’ing career – all of that means as much as a 10-Win “GOOD” season when 27 other teams also had 10-Win seasons while we beat NONE of the other 26.

A few salient comments:
1. Four different SEC teams have won the last six BCS championships.
2. UGA was not one of those teams.
3. During that period, UGA did not win the SEC championship.
4. Red panties.
In other words, UGA has sunk into total irrelevancy both regionally and nationally.
So why is UGA paying Mark Richt millions of dollars a year?

We beat none of the top 25 Coaches’ Poll teams either.
There are 4 SEC teams in the top 10 of BOTH POLLS.
Georgia is either the # 20 or the # 19 team.
Every team of the top 25 of both polls won at least 10 games.
4 teams who won 10 games did not make either poll top 25.
10-Wins is not a measure of the top teams, not with 27 who did.
Georgia is # 5 team in our own conference;
We are the 2nd best team in our own division;

The entire formula for this teams future success was revealed once again in the Outback bowl. With 3 mins left and the football, we could not run for a single first down to get the win. We could not THINK about blocking the Boise State defensive line in the first game either. Only against Florida and Auburn did we get the power running game going.
Bottom Line: The offensive line must get quicker footwork and be stronger at the point of attack. Michigan State D-line whipped their tails all day long.
We cannot evaluate Bobo as a play caller until the blocking is better. If he knew he had a power running game to go to when he needed it, it would open up everything else.

I’ve been “preachin’” that forever. I know it starts at the top, but the ELEPHANT in the room is our line! Size is not the only issue….being able to friggin’ block for a run game is! Against good teams, our o-line got their butts handed to them! Until we bring in some real, coachable o-linemen that can run-block these blogs will look the same next year! It is NOT just blogging or arm-chair QB’s that make this acessment. The left-handed one-eyed co-pilots association can see that we cannot run block! Blocking and tackling are the two items in football that are consistent from Pop Warner to the NFL! And B-State, M-State (yes, they had great D-lines) showed us we cannot play with the big boys! Blame Bobo all you want, but its hard to come up with a real gameplan when you take the running game basically out (except when we are playing the sisters of Mercy!)

Grantham is set on defense and I believe he is as good as there is.
On offense, I’m sorry folks but we need and upgrade at OC.
If Auburn or florida hires Brent Peace from Boise as OC, they just passed us.
The same OC who lit us up in the Dome opening night.
Now coaching 4 and 5 star recruits in the SEC?
Not good for UGA.

Our 4 losses were to teams in the top 10.
It is what it is.
Good for Michigan state to end up # 10.
The thing is, that is their pinnacle.
For us, it would have been ok if we had beat them but still not where we want to be.
They had a bunch of seniors including Cousins who got them to that point.
We want more.

I think CR covered about everything the constant bitchers and moaners have been bitchin’ and moanin’ about…with the exception of OC.
Maybe I’m ignorant, but name one team that has a dedicated special teams coach; Beamer notwithstanding.
4.29 GPA…have you thought about “leaving” UGA and changing over to LSU or Bama? You seem pretty emphatic that UGA will never measure up to those programs.

I agree that Bobo either needs to change his ways or be demoted to QB Coach and Recuiting Guru. YES, our offensive line has been mediocre, and has been for SEVERAL years now. But, Coach’s Bobo’s choices in playcalling do NOT help us. For example,
1. He is too predictable – 1st down incompletion = 2nd down run between the tackles at least 75% of time.
2. 1st and 20 after a penalty = a draw or similar run is called at least half the time, with a rare screen pass being our other option.
3. If we have a modest lead, we become as conservative as Vince Dooley running the veer offense back in the 70s. We play not to lose, rather than keeping the foot on the gas pedal.
4. If we are being successful with either passing or running, BOBO stops what we are doing and seeks “balance”, rather than forcing the OTHER team to stop us!! (look at Michigan State – we PASSED for over 280 yards on 32 attempts. We RAN for 51 yards on 39 attempts, and Malcome had all 51 of those yards. So, if you are playing to WIN, would you choose 9 yards per attempt, or barely over 1 yard per carry, as your weapon of choice??!?!?!?!? Bobo chose 1 yard per carry.
There are more examples, but I am tired of typing. GO DAWGS!!!

Richt is in favor of giving players a $2,000 food allowance. Does that mean UGA can fire the nutritionist and her assistance and hire a special team coach? UGA has solved the nutrition problem in one year. Will the scooter accidents go when they use the $2,000 to buy scooters to avoid walking or buses? Have the players improved that much when their decision making? Don’t believe they have.

Guys, let’s not kid oursevles, we are not in the same league with Alabama or LSU until we get a real Strength and Conditioning program. And as you see above, there will be no change this offseason. Just saying that we need more bodies to “finish the drill” does not get us stronger and better conditioned players. I spoke with one of our linemen last week and he said that coach T is not getting it done and is too “old school”. This is from a guy who says that most of the players feel this way. When will CMR get it that he is not employing the best and newest technology in regards to training? I hope this is not an issue this time next year.

I have been reading all of these learned comments and I am truly amazed at how deeply educated some of you fans are in all the fazes of college coaching. If Bobo calls a pass play while UGA is leading and Murry throws a pick 6 then it is Bobo making a bad call. If the play goes for 6 then Murry made a great throw. Our D plays good this year and it is TG that did a great job. Who hired TG? There are so many parts to this game both on on off the field that your pea brains can’t fatham and yet each of you is an expert. Only one problem, if you got paid for successful comments a lot of you would starve. Be happy with this season. I said happy not satisfied. I a Dawg long before most of you were born and I have seen the GOOD TIMES 1980/1984 and the bad 1961/1963. The only folks that are happy with the ALA victory are ALA fans. Just remember that ALA didn’t win the SEC WEST so the three best teams in the USA are ALA (NAT CHAMPS) LSU (SEC WEST CHAMPS) and UGA (SEC EAST CHAMPS) As to recruting numbers without quality and coascability means nothing. Just look at last year there is no replacement for hard work and dedication. We probably wouldn’t ever have another “HERCHEL WALKERW the GOAL LINE STAKER”.

Georgia O – I hope Marshall can give us that kind of a spark. We’ve had no real running threat since Knowshon left to the NFL. A large part of the problem is our pass first philosophy. We try to run to set up the pass. Another part of the problem is our O line recruits. They are a bunch of fat silver-spoon prep-school kids that get slapped down by smaller opponents. Part of that is scheme. Bobo does not understand traditional GA/SEC football.
I hope the dual TB threat of Crowell and Marshall will produce a 100 yrd a game scenario. If we can do that, not many teams will be able to beat us. Yes, I know we have other problems but it starts in the trenches and in the back field.

Marshall — maybe the best RB recruit in the country. I’ve seen him play—he has the chance to be the next Herschel Walker at UGA—he’s a can’t miss superstar. With Marshall and Murray next year, Ga will dominate the SEC east. This time, they will beat alabama for the title.

With Marshall coming in, need to send Crowell back,to where he comes from,he stays hurt too much, always asking to come out of ballgames,if he can’t play at this level, then sit him on the bench, sorry to be so negative, but enough is enough, running backs need to step it up,Go Dawgs.
