Sophomore CB Jordan Love leaving Georgia, seeks transfer

ATHENS – UGA officials confirmed Saturday night what Jordan Love hinted about via Twitter. The redshirt sophomore cornerback is leaving Georgia and will seek to continue his football career elsewhere.

Love

Love

Love sent this message out via Twitter Saturday evening: “It’s been real Athens. . . . All good things come to an end.”

Georgia spokesman Claude Felton later confirmed Love’s departure to reporters covering the Bulldogs’ basketball game against Alabama Saturday night.

Love could not be reached for comment. But he did talk to Gentry Estes of Dawgs247.com, saying: “I don’t want to say anything about it right now. When I get everything together I’ll let y’all know.”

Love played sparingly as a backup cornerback for the Bulldogs his two seasons in Athens. This past season he recorded 12 tackles while appearing in 8 games, with most of his work coming on special teams. As a freshman, he played in all 13 games and finished with 9 tackles.

Georgia lost cornerback Brandon Boykin out of its starting secondary from last season. The rest of the unit returns intact and the Bulldogs have several rising sophomores who are expected to compete for playing time, including Nick Marshall, Damian Swann and Chris Sanders.

This article is about a second stringer that has not prove3n on the field that he should be playing in games yet. We are in good shape with CB’s, and it is not a gigantic loss.
The rest of this crap some of you are posting on here about other players transferring is just that crap. Mason is the only one that has hinted that he may transfer, and that would elevate LeMay to backup, and that’s OK, as he has the arm and athleticism to be able to do the job. Rumors are usually relegated to women’s sewing bees, so perhaps you could go find one to blog on. You sure as heck don’t know anything about football.

The following comment is for UGA fanbase only :

Transfers are going to happen reguardless in a highly competitive college football situation. I do believe that It would be good for next year’s team to keep a player like Love for depth. Hutson Mason does need to play in more games because he is one snap away from being the starter.

The most pressing issue for next year is not only finding 3 starting offensive line starters but depth as well. Georgia also needs to find the best 2 starting running backs on the team and 1 backup and start dedicating themselves to the run. The run game is the missing key! Tight end is getting kind of thin with 2 left Aurthur Lynch and newcomer Jay Rome.

I want to end by saying I have not been a BOBO head hunter as much as others have been but even with all the talent that has been at Georgia in the past years……I think that bobo and richt need a change in philosophy or hire a more talented (creative) coordinater that has the ability to make in game adjustments that counter the other teams 2nd half adjustments.

GO DAWGS !

You played on the team and have real ties. Who cares ?

NYC, I have read your posts for years. You haven’t posted around here much for a long time. I could care less that you say you have ties to the current team and that you know as a matter of fact that Joe Cox is no bloody good, that you know that Hutson Mason is no bloody good, that you know that Joe Tereshinski III is no bloody good, that you know that Faton Bauta is no bloody good, that you know that Christian LeMay is no bloody good.

Guess what Bubba from NYC ?

Aaron Murray is NO BLOODY GOOD.

He and I’ll take that bet will never take a snap in the NFL, not ever.

I have seen Aaron Murray for this is now his 4th year on our campus. My campus. The campus I graduated from.

I don’t care if NONE OF THEM, and trust me, you just listed every quarterback the 4 years he has been on this campus who you state are all NO BLOODY GOOD.

I don’t care if none of the quarterbacks at UGA are any bloody good. I want to see us put someone else out there some and LET ME DECIDE.

Not you.

Me.

I have seen more than enough of Aaron Bloody No Good Murray.

11 losses in 27 starts.

41 percent of his starts lost.

EXCUSE AFTER EXCUSE.

I didn’t play QB. Did you ?

What I know is that I know a QB when I see one.

Aaron Murray ain’t it.

He isn’t even an athlete.

Stretch the field. He cannot accurately hit the broadside of a barn. He cannot run worth a hoot. When he does throw, he under-throws his receivers and he over-throws his receivers. When he runs the ball he gain 1 yard and fumbles. He has 22 fumbles and 21 interceptions and 11 losses and 56 sacks and 1 yard a carry on 8 carries a game, his entire 27 games to-date.

Give someone else the ball and get him on the bloody field. You can play your precious everyone else stinks to high heaven all you want. Just not every play of every game.

Get that yet ?

Get someone else on the field for a few plays and let me decide.

I know that Aaron Murray is NO STINKING GOOD.

Why didn’t you say that Aaron Murray is GREAT ?

Because you know full well that he is NO BLOODY GOOD too – that’s why you didn’t say you are defending Aaron Murray by saying AARON MURRAY IS GREAT.

CMR- if he isnt willing to open his eyes about Bobo then what makes you think he’ll let competition reign for the QB position? When a QB has no fear of losing his position then what pushes him to better himself?
These are the same things that plagued Bobby Cox with the Braves.
He had more loyalty to his players than they did with him. With Murray its about stats and positioning himself with records and not win/losses.
Its the same with Bobo, its not about winning so much as it is that he gets experience and developes a sorry ineffective resume.
CMR has got to learn one of the most important things about coaching and that is that you make decisions based on not gut feelings, personal relationships and this also means whether or not they are christians and whether or not you went to college with them and/or are lifetime friends but based solely on their experience and resume.
Being Bias will end up killing ya in the long run, it will cause you to make bad decisions because its solely based on how you feel about that person rather than how good is he at coaching at that position.

Players transferring, coaches badly coaching, Richt is horrible, Bobo is horrible, Grantham can’t stop Michigan State offense, QB’s and other players thinking of transferring or leaving early, team losing easy bowl game, state’s top recruits going elsewhere, fans jumping off bandwagon….again…..what is going on in Athens? No future in Dawgland. Fire everyone! Now…..and start all over.

This season you came in here all this time last year and bragged we would “win it all and see the panorama from the top” Mark Richt is NOT IN THE TOP 25 in WON/LOST of the 120 FBS campuses you brag you toured as a professional actor.

Last year, Mark Richt was number 67 of the 120 FBS campuses you’ve seen

The year before that # 35.

The year before that # 18.

6 years ago # 33.

This while you brag only you can speak for The Bulldogs that the rest of us all are MISGUIDED like Herschel Walker like Fran Tarkenton because you have a younger brother who went to Mark Richt’s Summer Camp and because you knew 2 guys at your high school who at some points in their career were Georgia Bulldogs though not under Mark Richt.

Dawgs know this, but with their weak minds, they tend to forget, so here’s a reminder:

Georgia Tech is a very highly ranked academic school that has a football team. Its alumni and fans have real lives and careers that don’t depend on the football team for their happiness.

Georgia, on the other hand, is basically a sell-your-soul-to-the-devil football factory that also gives diplomas – worthless as they are. They have sleazy coaches like Mark Richt who have no scruples or ethics, who recruit morons who barely got through high school, and collect huge paychecks, but still can’t win big games.

Now, can you remember all that?

Comment about Aaron Murray being no good is true. Stats dont lie. If they did then we wouldnt have them to rate QB’s.
This is why we dont have good football Mgmt. at Georgia. Bobo refuses to let other QB’s compete with Murray and thats because Bobo is also QB Coach and he’s Aaron Murrays prodige. Bobo has done nothing for Georgia and atleast wants to get affirmation that he somehow is a great coach and was solely responsible for Aaron Murray’s success.
My sister could play QB at Georgia because most everything that is thrown is high percentage plays of 5-10 yards. My God where does that involve talent?
Lets be realistic here, Murray has as many fumbles as he has interceptions. Are some of you fans that much in denial? Murray has a pompas attitude that his butt dont stink because he knows that Bobo isnt gonna allow any competition, why do you think some of the QB’s transferred?
Oh the politics of college make me sick.
Georgia goes out seeking 5 Star Players but never seek 5 Star Coaches. How good would Georgia’s program be if all they had were 1 Star players?
Well their OC is 1 Star Coach. We have a 4 Star DC and maybe 3 Star Staff but that 1 Star OC is just killing the team and when that happens you have to look for a 4-5 Star OC.
Bobo feels the sameway as Murray does, they dont have to worry about losing their position because the guy above them have their backs.
This is insane coaching at its best, Spurrier used 2 OB’s and isnt afraid to test it, Alabama and LSU did the samething……………but nooooooooo not Georgia. His jewels have shriveled up the past few seasons and CMR isnt man enough to tell the Alumni and the board to shove it where the sun dont shine and let me run this program the way i need to or i’ll seek employment elsewhere.
If any of you are Alumni, get off your fat butts and quit trying to micro-manage the coaches……..this is exactly what happened to Alabama until they finally got a true coach that coaches from the bottom up.
Oh the Narcacists are abound at UGA and if they cant reflect and make adjustments to better Georgia then we will never get better.

Exactly

Bobby Cox if you gave him 25 players, you better make sure his player # 25 is not some red-headed little nobody of a baseball player, because if you do, then that is the very player he will send out there in the worst possible moment of the most important games and put him in to win the game. Sure the players loved Bobby Cox – not so sure about his wife however. But the truth is that he was a horrible husband accused of beating up his wife and tearing her hair out while MAKING UP THE EXCUSE HE WAS DRUNK and a worse baseball coach, playing the # 25 player on his roster of the 25 players given him to work with all at the wrong time in the wrong game against the wrong pitchers.

He drove me crazy with his line-ups and playing his FAVORITE PLAYERS.

There is no way, given the talent he was provided that he could not field the best 9 and play them and do far better than he did with his managerial moves. A player number 10 through 25 would love to play for Bobby Cox. A player who wanted to win, would have nothing to do with him.

NYCDAWGFAN said this exact time last year that Mark Richt would be freed up this season to learn about coaching football studying it he said and Fran Tarkenton asked what the name of heaven has Mark Richt been doing all these years at UGA ? NYCDAWGFAN said that Fran cannot criticize current players and coaches but has to be behind the program. Now, one year later to the day, NYCDAWGFAN says all these players suck, and Mark Richt is GREAT BEYOND BELIEF, which is what he said last year this date exactly about how we would “win it all and see the panorama from the top 2011.”

Look at PRO Rosters and you will see players from everywhere not just the SEC. It is nothing wrong with going to ACC Sun Belt out West. TROY or a Tenn. St. or FAMU. Coronet Blue,

1. What percentage of Tech. football players graduate in 4 years?
2. How many Tech. football players have graduated with a degree in engineering?
3. Is this a blog about football, or the academics of tech. and UGA?
4. Why should UGA be concerned if you have a lock on the state population of nerds?
5. Why do you waste your time coming onto a Blog concerning a UGA player?
6. Even though, not a lot of DIV. 1 or any division players make it in the professional ranks, who makes more money, the brand new engineering degree tech. grad. or the NFL professional athlete? Keep in mind that your football players don’t leave your school as engineers, by the way, That should make point 2 easy for you to answer.

All I want is for someone else to get on the field and play some QB

I don’t care who it is. It cannot be any worse than it is, as stated previously by EVERY OTHER POSTER on this blog, not named NYCDAWGFAN.

I don’t even ask that Aaron Murray not be the Starter.

Just play the other guys at QB TOO by gracious.

I didn’t play QB. I defended against them. I think I know what is a QB, but I admit I was not one. I rode the bench – so what ?

I am a fan no better and no worse than any other fan.

I am totally unsatisfied with 25 losses the last Six (6) Seasons.

And, I am especially unsatisfied with the way we don’t prepare back-up Quarterbacks around here,

EVER.

And, not just because I rode the bench.

I want to see the other players play. I have seen Aaron Murray play.

I have also watched 27 games he started and have seen him lose 11.

41 percent losses.

He cannot for the life of him win a game against a team who finishes in the top 25.

Not once.

Twice however he did lose to teams who did not finish top 25.

And, 0-9 vs the teams who did end up top 25.

It bears repeating that if ALL THESE OTHER QUARTERBACKS at UGA the entire time Aaron Murray has been here – starting his 4 year now on our campus – all suck, I don’t care.

So, does he.

“I guess there really hasn’t been a marquee win,” Aaron Murray admitted.

You cant come on here and tell others to not criticize Georgia because they label you a Hater and not a Backer of Georgia. This is the problem with Georgia. They dont coach it enough. You think Bear Bryant said ” oh hey you did great” after missing the winning FG”?
Would Woody Hayes, Jackie Sherrell, Bo Schembeckler, Spurrier, Jimmy Johnson? You kidding me?
Those guys were men and also real coaches. We worry too dang much about being politically correct that we think that saying what the truth is, hurts the developement of kids.
It does the opposite, trust me……….. it makes them try harder to make you proud of them as young men. If you believe this isnt true then none of you have never served and been thru boot camps.
The 1st. thing you ever do with your own children is that they RESPECT you then LOVE will come from that but if you dont respect a person then you cant love and admire them.
Coaching is a business and not a congregation in a church, 2 totally different things. If you watch Grantham then you’d see what i’m talking about because man he jumps on those players if they do wrong.
What does Mark Richt do…………….. takes his hands and brushes back his hair in his casanova sunglasses.
Quit giving out high fives when a player makes mistakes, when i was growing up the coach would grab my face mask and look straight into my eyes and jump down my neck, then i’d get those looks from the other players indicating how bad i was for doing that.
Which in turn made me mad and wanna do better and avoid embarrasment. Now these kids have to seek therapy because a coach yells at them.
This is what we’re developing these days kids without coaches. Constantly learning and getting better all the time because they dont have to compete because mommy and daddy are alumni’s with money or have pampered they babies since childhood to treat them kindly or they’ll go somewhere else.

“I guess there really hasn’t been a marquee win,” Aaron Murray admitted.

Idiots on here who say Mason is better than Murray……idiots. What a joke, you know NOTHING. There is a reason why Murray was Top 3 in the nation and the co-MVP at the Elite 11 QB Camp with Matt Barkley. He is a soph who hasn’t had a running game in two years, a mediocre offensive line and has the need to try and make too many plays but he is going to break ever record at GA. It is a team sport. He needs a better OC who will let him throw the ball with 3:00 left in the game to put it away. If two receivers catch balls they catch every day, he has 200 yds + and 3TDs in the first half against LSU. Does he make mistakes, every QB does. But use some common sense. You are idiots.

I know why BB recruits leave our state. All we can talk about is the play calling in the bowl game and a second string CB transferring? We need to pack the Steg FIRST then the recruits will come. Not the other way around.I live 200 miles from Athens and I will make two BB games. Fox is a good coach and KCP is the real deal, but they need some help. The SEC is going through a period of unrivaled dominance in college football history and UGA is MISSING IT ALL. UGA is third in the SEC for all-time wins, 3rd for bowl appearances, 3rd for bowl wins, and is annually in the top 3 in the nation for athletic association profits. The state of Georgia is annually in the top 4 in the nation for D1 players signed and currently is third in players playing in the NFL. UGA has the nations 7th largest stadium and annually is in the top 10 for attendance. UGA has ranked in the top 10 in recruiting for the past ten years. YET UGA’s record the past 6 years is 54-25 with no SEC championships and ONE top ten ranking. If that isn’t underachieving I don’t know what is. It is time to FIRE MARK RICHT and get a coach that can have UGA playing closer to its potential.

Especially on NCAA FBS teams, about 100 or or so players were exceptional enough to merit either a scholarship or walk-on status. Excluding Special Teams, eventually there will be 22 starters. While some may be, not starting does not mean that the vast majority of the others are worthless or lazy. It simply means that someone else was better. I worked my butt off to the best of my ability, but was beaten out by better talent. I could have gone elsewhere and no doubt started, but I cast my lot with my team and there I stayed and got my degree from a fine university. Frankly, I am proud of my effeorts to be the best I could be and I am proud of all of my team mates and of those of my competitor schools, too. A PROBLEM looming just as large as MURRAY is UGA and MCGARITY putting their faith in a Head Coach who on 2nd and 7 from your opponents 22 yard line, orders “Hair Product” to lose the 3 yards back, and on 3rd down attempts a 42 yard field goal by a kicker who is less than 50% from the 40 and beyond. He missed. The bigger the game the more turnovers you will see from Murray. Forget the problems with the offensive line. If you can’t protect the football then you are doomed to mediocrity. Murray will never be benched. When there are guaranteed positions that leads to little motivation for anyone to improve. (1) Who makes the OL look bad ?

Aaron Murray holding the ball too long with 56 sacks 27 games ?
Aaron Murray running around like a CHICKEN with head cut-off?
NFL where half the starters end up ?
NFL where Aaron Murray will never take a snap ?

(2) Who makes the Running Game look bad ?
Aaron Murray who steals 7 carries a game from the RBs ?
Aaron Murray who average 1 yard a carry as college QB?
Aaron Murray who has 22 fumbles in 27 games trying to run?
If you handed anyone else the ball behind the big OL we have
they would have 5 yards per carry for 35 yards a game avg
instead of Aaron Murray’s 1 yard for 7 carries EVERY GAME.

(3) Who makes the Offense stink to high heaven ?
The head coach who promoted QBs coach to OC no experience?
The OC whom we stole from JAX St who was their QB coach ?
The Field General on the field who has the last audible or not
at the line of scrimmage checking out of plays called for not his
number and checking off into plays that are his number
trying to do too much then throwing himself on the turf un-hit?

(4) Who said Hutson Mason is a Better QB than AM ?
No one.

ALL NINE (9) GAMES VS TEAMS FINISHING TOP 25.
That it would not have hurt us one bloody bit.

How do you know he is better QB than Hutson Mason ?
(A) let me guess your little bro went to Richt camp once?
(B) let me guess 2 guys from your HS played at UGA in 1998?

Everyone take this as a grain of salt….You can never have High Expectations for any Georgia Sports teams….watch the Falcons game today and you’ll see what I am talking about!

Hey MIKE DAVIS. I knew all along BOO MALCOLM suffered a concussion. You’d know it too if you saw the hit he took. Now his career’s ADVERSELY AFFECTED, just like yours will be if you sign with these clowns. You owe it to yourself to take a close look at Richt and his yes man BOBO before you commit your future to them. Do you really want to risk it Mike? They’ll take you down a road you don’t necessarily want to go. Give Bama a look. We play big boy football. Beat Mich. St. 49 to 7 when we played them. Run behind a run oriented offense, not one centered around some me first pretty boy Quarterback. Like Boo Malcolm, if you sign with Georgia, you’ll be putting your future at risk. Roll Tide.

We don’t go to college round ball….don’t like the PA guys sounding like the nba and wwf…”Jones scooooooooores”. Now some football PA guys are doing this.
Major colleges like Michigan, MUS, ND etc., don’t do this.

I just skimmed over most of the comments. Man there is an exceedingly amount of trash on this article. Later

Good choice by the young man. Perhaps there is still time to make something of his academic and athletic career. Best wishes.

Agreed, RxDawg. Maybe one or two comments even worth reading. The rest is drivel.
