Bulldogs mixing pleasure with business during Outback Bowl (UPDATED)
TAMPA — Headed over to the “Debartolo Team Luncheon” at the Tampa Convention Center shortly. Both teams will be present, along with some of their fans.
Afterward a number of players from both teams will be available for interviews. The Bulldogs return to practice at the University of Tampa this afternoon. I’ll have some reports later this afternoon.
Yesterday afternoon and evening, Georgia and Michigan State players got the royal treatment at Busch Gardens. The Bulldogs danced with belly dancers and hand-fed giraffes at the park’s expansive Serengeti wildlife exhibit. They also got to ride some of Busch Gardens’ world famous coasters, including the gargantuan ShieKra. Nothing like seeing muscle-bound football players scream like little girls!
Told of photos that show his mouth agape in terror, linebacker Christian Robinson laughed. “Actually, I was just yawning,” he said. “I was just very tired. I wasn’t actually scared at all.”
Eventually ‘fessing up, Robinson explained: “The thing is you come over the top and it stops and for three seconds you’re staring down thinking ‘this is about to happen.’ About halfway down you start to float out of your seat and there’s nothing to hold on to. I’m trying to squeeze next to Ben to have a little more stability. It was quite a feeling in your stomach.”
Quarterback Aaron Murray was hoarse on Thursday and he said it was from all the screaming he did on the coasters Wednesday night, particularly on the Sheikra, which features a 90 degree drop and reaches 70 miles per hour. “That was bad; I was freaking out. It was awful.”
Overall, the Georgia players said they have been having a blast in Tampa, including getting a good bit of free time to enjoy the area.
“We’re operating under a curfew,” junior nose guard John Jenkins said. “Everything is organized and we’re obliging by the curfew. It’s a pretty reasonable curfew. We’re going to have a good time within the rules.”
They’ll have to enjoy the freedom while it lasts as the attitude will turn increasingly serious as the Jan. 2 game against Michigan State looms closer.

Terry NO I just know Axis does or did a monthly UCF girl photo shoot. My Cousin’s Sons and Daughter Attend or Attended UCF. I have been on campus a few times over the years. UCF has like 40K students and close to 60% female. They were beautiful girls all over the place. I mean really pretty girls at every turn.

JB not many Tech fans are going from Atlanta. So? MSU fans are not breaking their collective necks to attend the Outback bowl either. I chose to spend money on my family for the holidays over attending the Bowl game.

I don’t think anyone is surprised or would argue that a big college in Florida is going to be chock full of pretty ladies.
And I have seen the drill team quite a few times. I don’t need to check out the site and “grade” them. I wasn’t saying they were all a Maxim poster girls.(or even the best looking women on the UGA campus) I was simply making a fitting reference in rebuttal to the “all the girl look like softball players” comment.

Buckhead Bulldog if you are talking about the BB Dance team then I am talking about the georgiadogs.com site that shows pictures of the dance team members. You can also find pictures of the girls in most of the sororities online as well.

The AJC sports blogs are now holding a beauty contest for all of the SEC and ACC women. They will provide you a checklist of what constitutes beautiful, ugly, and what is only considered attractive. I am sure the women love knowing that so many sports experts on this blog feel qualified to call some of them unattractive. The contest will be known as “Pieces of Meat”, selections. Which one of you wants to head up the voting committee?

Well, A person SMART enough to know…… does kinda have a point regarding our cheerleaders. I know GPA comes into play in order to be on the squad now, but God the ones from when I was in school 83-87 were very good looking. Too many plain Janes and heffers these past few years.

I think the difference between 83 (my days too) and now is that they go more for the gymnastic/athletic builds now. Not just the spirited cuties.

Have to agree some on the Pac 10 Cheer leaders. Mostly the Southern Ca CL’s. I grew up in L.A. in the 70’s before moving to Atlanta in 78. You would have thought that Awesome looking Cheerleaders was a Major at Southern Cal. Still, the best looking CL’s in my book.

Kind of would not mind seeing ND pound FSU into the ground. That’s just based on a couple of obnoxious in-laws I have. You would think hanging around them that they have been NC’s 5 years running.

I guess it HELPS the player to know WHAT the scouts think and want to see improvement on. I hope it doesn’t make a WR tell the QB, “Hay throw me the ball more on deep routes.” I don’t want the evaluations to create team monsters wanting to GET THEIRS for a better draft status. That is my only fear.

I was just checking out a MSU blog. Those people are ery overconfident that they will beat UGA by at least 14. I hope that their team is equally overconfident. Still, Dawgs need to bring their “A” game for the full 60 minutes to win this one.
I hate to say it, but the Auburn has been the only game this year that they showed up for a full 60 minutes. No knock at Auburn.
Maybe we can talk MSU to put on an Auburn uni…..
