Ten football players among 27 athletes graduating from UGA

ATHENS — I’ll be writing more about this later but I figured I’d go ahead and share the information with you.

Twenty-seven UGA athletes will be graduating with degrees on Friday. Among those will be 10 football players.

To me, their stories are always the best to tell. Some of them are finishing up at the end of their playing careers, like Justin Anderson, Bruce Figgins and Trinton Sturdivant; some have more time to play, like Richard Samuel; and others have been coming back to complete degrees after playing pro ball.

No matter which, they’re all happy endings and I think we all enjoy those.

Like I said, I’ll profile one or two in the next day or so. In the meantime, here are the names of UGA student-athletes getting their sheepskins this week. Congrats to all.

Yes, I start most things now, and no im not apologetic about it at all and I will continue to do so.

Doesn’t bother me in the slightest.

I give it back to you guys tenfold on the Tech blogs.

Your welcome.

Now there is a academic school which also excels on the field.

You should really check out how Stanford did before the Luck era. Also, if you think we developed our Management program in the 1930’s for football then I don’t know what to tell you.

TampaDawg, im not talking about today. This started a while ago. Your fan base acted a little too trashy for my tastes for about the 1000th time so this is the result. Yes, I start most things now, and no im not apologetic about it at all and I will continue to do so.

Well aren’t you the little activist .. get over yourself dude. You have been posting this crap for a long time yourself. And please don’t talk about “our fan base” without realizing that many (NOT ALL, there are quite a few classy ones out there) try to push this superiority complex like your degree makes you better than everyone else in the state, namely UGA grads. NOTHING COULD BE FARTHER FROM THE TRUTH. And that’s not just about GT, that’s about anyone who thinks there degree gives them some sort of elevated status. It’s sad when people think that because it honestly means their self image is tied up in a piece of paper and that’s truly sad.

Can’t believe it. Housing? Biology and Finance (and to a lesser extent Sociology), they are real academic programs. C’mon, let us be honest here. The others are weak. Those were created for athletes who can’t cut it in a real college level academic program.

You are waaaaay behind in this conversation and obviously way too ignorant to be a part of it. I guess if you go to college, you have to study engineering according to you to be a part of “a real college level academic program”. Unbelievable.

No it won’t. I’m pretty persistent. Sorry you have such a thin skin though. I thought UGA fans could take it a little more then that.

Maggots can’t compete in football so they drag out their over-used “degree” line. lmao That 31-17 whipping and domination over their program clearly still has them reeling. It’d be sad if it weren’t so funny.

Congrats to all the graduates.

Disagreeing with DawginLex = spewing nonsense. Sounds like the typical UGA mindset.

Trey, Pensacola (nice are by the way), and Lex, agree with all of you. Bob thinks this is all about thin skin on our parts. But he admitted earlier that he does this as a result of “how some of our fan base acted” .. Soooo, he is a hypocrite then? Yup. They resort to that crap when they have nothing else to go on and then they have NOTHING of fact to back it up

TampaDawg, retaliation is not thin skin. Crying like a little girl when you get your feelings hurt is thin skinned. Like I said. Don’t dish it if you can’t take it and it is really obvious that the UGA fans on here can’t take it.

We didn’t dish it out, but you ALWAYS give it. I have been on the tech blogs and have several friends on there. Funny, I never see you on there but I see you on every UGA related blog all the time. This IS my last post to you because you obviously think there is a difference between retaliation for blog comments and having a thin skin. That’s the sign of some low quality self image and crap for education.

Which school is likely to be more demanding academically – one where 99% of the general students graduate (e.g. ND, UNC) or one where less than 90% graduate (e.g. UGA, GT)?

Congraduations to graduating dawgs. @ Tech.,two things I find disturbing; the number of foreign students acquiring engineering degrees, then returning home and companies ( example.. GE) moving operations overseas due to the shortages of engineering job candidates here.

But….but….Paul Johnson can beat you at chess, with a checker…. He’s not coaching, he’s playing a video game….. He’s the smartest coach in the world…. Less technical majors are a joke….You can’t be a success in life without a “real” degree…

Paul Johnson has a P.E. degree from Western Frickin Carolina….. which is it?…

Congrats!!! Getting a degree is respectable no matter what major/school you chose. I never understood why the debates always resort to that argument. Respect given where respect is due :)

BTW, yes most GTFB players major in Management but it’s not even close to being an easy major. It just happens to be fairly easy compared to the other majors Tech offers (engineering, computer science, architecture, etc). A lot of non-management majors will take a MGMT class thinking it’s an easy A and then later find out it’s not as easy as it seems. That being said, yall can cut that “GT athletes major in management and still don’t graduate” talk out especially if you’ve never taken a class at GT or UGA!

Congrats to all the student athletes who graduated, no matter which school you got your degree from!! You all should be very proud of yourselves. To all the UGA fans who say that UGA is better than GT, look at it this way, UGAs housing degree gives you a tool belt and hammer. GT’s building and construction degree gives you a suit and tie to go boss around mutts who were gives a hammer as a graduation present.
Here’s a joke for all you hungry mutts out there….. What do you call a Tech grad reigning over thousands of UGA employees? The CEO of Walmart.
Happy Holidays!
