UGA vs. Michigan State in Outback Bowl; homecoming for Murray, Charles

Georgia and Michigan State, both with 10-3 records and losses in their conference championship games, will meet Jan. 2 in the Outback Bowl in Tampa.

The matchup was set Sunday, one day after Georgia lost 42-10 to No. 1 LSU in the SEC Championship game and Michigan State fell 42-39 to Wisconsin in the inaugural Big Ten title game.

Georgia was among three SEC teams, along with South Carolina and Arkansas, that were in the running for the Capital One, Outback and Cotton bowls.

Orlando’s Capital One Bowl, which had the next choice of SEC teams after LSU and Alabama were tabbed for the BCS national title game, selected South Carolina. The Gamecocks (10-2, 6-2 SEC) finished second to Georgia in the SEC East, but defeated the Bulldogs 45-42 in Athens on Sept. 10.

The Outback and Cotton bowls, equals in the SEC’s bowl pecking order, were next in line to make selections from the league. The Outback preferred the East team (Georgia) and the Cotton the West team (Arkansas).

The Outback, which will kick off at 1 p.m. and be televised on ABC, will be a homecoming for two of Georgia’s top players, quarterback Aaron Murray and tight end Orson Charles, who were teammates at Tampa’s Plant High School.

“Heading home for the Outback Bowl!” Murray said Sunday night via Twitter.

“It’s a great destination for our student-athletes and our fans –- warm weather, wonderful attractions, a first-class stadium -– and we look forward to competing against a great Michigan State team,” Georgia athletic director Greg McGarity said in a statement. “Our fans have been a big part of our success this season, and I’m confident they will support the team with attendance in this bowl game.”

Michigan State is ranked ahead of Georgia in the latest polls, released Sunday. The Spartans are No. 12 in the Associated Press poll and No. 13 in the USA Today coaches’ poll, while the Bulldogs are No. 18 in both.

While Georgia won the SEC East, Michigan State won the Big Ten’s Legends division. Both teams were 7-1 in regular-season league play.

This is the 15th consecutive season that Georgia has reached a bowl. The Outback is a step up in the bowl landscape from the Bulldogs’ destinations the past two seasons, the Independence Bowl in 2009 and the Liberty Bowl last year.

Georgia and Michigan State have met twice previously in football, with Georgia winning both times.

The first meeting was in Jacksonville’s Gator Bowl at the end of the 1988 season. Georgia won that game, Vince Dooley’s last as the Bulldogs’ coach, 34-27.

The other meeting was in the Capital One Bowl at the end of the 2008 season. Georgia won 24-12 in the final college game for quarterback Matthew Stafford and tailback Knowshon Moreno. Stafford threw three touchdown passes in the second half, the last one to Moreno.

“This promises to be a great match-up,” Michigan State athletics director Mark Hollis said in a statement. “The last time these two teams met … the outcome wasn’t decided until the fourth quarter, so we anticipate another competitive game.”

Georgia has played in the Outback Bowl three times previously, winning all three, while this will be Michigan State’s first trip to the Tampa game.

Michigan State seemed on the cusp of a potential game-winning touchdown in Saturday’s Big Ten title game when the Spartans returned a Wisconsin punt inside the 5-yard line with less than two minutes to play. But a running-into-the-punter penalty negated the return and gave Wisconsin a first down, ensuring its victory and a Rose Bowl berth.

Georgia coach Mark Richt and Michigan State coach Coach Mark Dantonio will discuss the Outback matchup in a joint media teleconference Monday.  In a news release from the bowl Sunday night, Richt was quoted: “… Playing a top quality opponent like Michigan State will be a challenge we’ll look forward to.”

Both teams rank in the nation’s top five in total defense. Georgia is No. 3, allowing 268.5 yards per game, and Michigan State is No. 5, giving up 272.7 yards per game.

Come on down to Tampa…..you are going to like it in January here…..shorts on the beach….be sure to check out the sand carving on the beach on team beach day….and the skydivers…..but the water will be a little chilly by then. But it is a long way from Sugar falling from the sky. You needed a closer score to go to Orlando, I guess.

Thanks ESPN for help in ruining college football as we know it.Congrats to UGA for winning SEC east, and your bowl game..Sic those yankees….Theres no doubt that LSU IS the #1 team in the country, but to say Bama is #2 is just sad.Yes Bama has a great Defense and Defense does win Championships, but you do have to have an Offense too and Bamas is average at best. The so called #2 team in the country cant even get inside LSU’s 20 yard line AT HOME!!!They score 6 points and try 2, 50 yard field goals and call it missed opportunities.PLEASE…Whats the odds of hitting 50 yard field goals for anybody. That was a shot in the dark not missed opportunities. Now LSU has to beat them again??Bama had their shot and blew it..This is just wrong.Every team LSU has played this year has scored at leat 9 on LSU ,except Ole Miss,Missy ST.,North western St.and ALABAMA!!!!!!ESPN says Hey Bama went to Penn St and beat them ..LOL Wisconsin destroys PennSt.,…….Bama Beat Penn St.,and Arkansas.Who else was even an average team Bama beat????I am a new Ga.Southern fan.At least they prove it on the field and not by ESPN,sports writers (who dont have a clue)and computers who btw get all their info from SPORTS WRITERS!!!Until Div1 football gets some kind of playoff and stops this nonsense its GA.Southern…BOYCOTT THE BCS NC game……ESPN and MONEY has ruined the game I really enjoyed..GO DAWGS …GO Ga.Southern!!!On to the NEXT round…

Just lay it out so he can’t say no…It’ll take 7.5 mil per and his ego may not be able to say no….and lot’s of talent in Texas… 3 Rings from 3 different schools is the kind of thing he thrives on. The QB – Brissett or Driskell….both are very talented and just need to get the system down.

The RB – Matt Jones…..6′2 and 220 out of this area. A very good one. Hopefully, Mike Davis will stick with the Gators and not go with the Vols. And the Gators still have Gilleslee and Brown.

The FB – Man…where have you been……his name is Hunter Joyer…..no doubt the best freshman FB in the country.

The TE – Jordan Reed is going to be very good. And Colin Thompson, the #1 TE in the country and 6′5 and 255, is on his way…..plus the #1 TE out of Florida….and maybe the kid out of Georgia on Monday….but I think he goes to Bama.

The WR – Debose really got better this year….former 5 star with unbelieveable speed. The Gators do need another WR to make all this work…..and they are in the hunt for a bunch of good ones. And I have not given up on Quinton Dunbar yet….only a freshmen this year and play very well against FSU.

The biggest problem is depth on the OL……and the Gators have two hurt freshmen back next year….hopefully Patchan can play uninjured for the first time next year….and Dunkler and Humphries and others (Young maybe) are on their way.

Supes……

The Cap-One Bowl has to take the SEC runner up unless another SEC team that is available is higher rated in the BCS…..therefore South Carolina. And….to be honest….I think they are the better team right now…but not much better. And they blasted the team going to the Orange Bowl….but what good team didn’t….even Tech did. You have to be rated in the top 14 to get a BCS Bowl. Cotton….they took Arkansas because they are higher rated in the BCS…..and they are in Arkansas and will bring more fans to the Cotton Bowl. Therefore, Georgia in the Outback. But I bet you the Outback most likely tried to get Georgia and Florida to switch…..because Florida guarantees and sellout in the Outback…..Georgia does not. And I think more Georgia fans would head down to the Gator……but that would have been a slap in the face for Georgia.

UGA is at the ground floor with this team. We are building and pointing toward 2012 and 2013. We need to win this bowl …….so that next year in pre season, we get some pollster love and we can make a run, as the season unfolds.

Our 2012 schedule is set and all we have to do is play some ball. Either Crowell sucks it up and grows both in maturity and physicality or he goes home to mow lawns for the county work farm …………eventually. It is entirely up to him.

UGA needs to win the Outback Bowl and recruit some major kids at the last minute with two good to really good backs to augment R Samuel and Boo Malcome and Crowell and get about four or five BLUE CHIP O linemen for depth and we will be good to go.

Frankly, “wheather” isn’t a word. The word you’re searching for is “Whether,”

As for Georgia Southern, it’s doubtful it could beat UGA this year. The Eagles have come close to beating a D-1 team in the past, but it’s never happened. Georgia Southern has tried numerous times to schedule a football game with Tech and the North Avenue has wimped out, though it has played Furman, Jacksonville State and many other 1-AA schools.

Funny thing, if Tech did host Georgia Southern the Flats would be packed with folks from South Georgia and Georgia Southern alums in the Atlanta market. For the record, when they play other 1-AA teams the gate is low. Hell, it can’t even sell-out a game against UGA!

Georgia State won’t schedule Georgia Southern, another opportunity for a great gate. Instead of buying ads on TV and in the AJC to sell tickets, Georgia State should play a home and home schedule with Georgia Southern and get a great crowd in the Dome and experience the great game day atmosphere in Statesboro. The two schools already play in every other sport.

The only rational explanation is that they, like Tech, have difficulty accepting the fact that they could lose to Georgia Southern.

For the record, since Erk resurrected the program in the 1980s, the Eagles have won 6 national championships (in a 16-team play-off) and have been in the finals two other times.

Frankly, there isn’t a college team in the state with a post-season record even comes close to that of Georgia Southern. No, it wouldn’t beat Georgia. But the school’s record in 1-AA speaks for itself.

Me too….as that will mean the Gators are winning championships.

The two that just left, left for the following reasons:

1. Josh Shaw….backup safety….not a great need for the Gators. His grandfather is very ill. He loved the Gators and living in Gainesville….and the coaches. But his family needed him back home in California. He left for that reason only.

2. Lyden Trail…..3rd team DE and never saw the field in two years as a Gator. Would not have played next year either. He loved the Gators, but the coaches told him he had a better chance of playing at a smaller school. Headed to FIU or Florida Atlantic, I believe.

Also….Meyer went after the WR coach…..and he also said no. Mariotti is going….the S&C guy. But I am not sure Muschamp is not happy about that…..because Muschamp said at the end of the season that his team was “soft”…..and that was a slap in Mariotti’s face as the S&C guy. The Gators need someone who can come in and add weight and strength….especially on the OL and DL…..Mariotti was unable to build bulk like what is needed in the pro style system….like Georgia’s OL and DL. OK, so we had 78 yards on 34 carries as a team. Of that total Malcome had 37 yards on 5 carries. So the rest of the Georgia Bulldogs had 41 yards on 29 carries. So it begs the question: why didn’t they run Malcome more and sooner? Malcome runs his own rugby matches–he has pushed the rugby piles in all four games he has played in. Kind of odd looking, don’t you think? I will say this, that if he hadn’t dropped Mason’s pass that hit him in both hands, he would still be running. Then he could have had a major portion of the passing yardage, too. Malcome needs about 10 more pounds of muscle and some more explosiveness. If he will do the work, he is going to be a great one imo.

Dawg fans please be quiet. You have been thrashed twice in the Dome (technically a home game) on national television. Please don’t start predicting total dominance over Michigan State simply because you are a member of the SEC. Pick up the pieces from the SEC Championship Game and get healthy for the Spartans.

Spartans should be good even matched opponent for Dawgs who need the mo going into next year with this win.

Couple posters above obviously did not watch SEC championship game. Great game plan by Coach Bobo and Grantham, they cannot make the tackles or catch passes, or throw the ball for Murray. In fact Coach Bobo has several excellent called games in a row, need to lock him up also contract wise.

19 first downs to 11, 36.5 minutes to 23.5minutes, Dawgs controlled stats, but turnovers and special teams are how great teams win. Dawgs are closer than what final score read.

BCS are you crazy??!! A sugar bowl without a SEC team? What a Joke, UGA,SC, or Ark would have been the right choice. I don’t get it. But let me get the facts down to you.
1)The SEC has proven the past few years that we play big boy football. Other Conf. are eating dust and playing for scraps. They keep the SEC out of the rest of the BCS because they know they would embaress a big 10 etc whatever champion they want to trot on the field. They know if they don’t play the games they wouldn’t be exposed as the joke they are.
2) They are sweating bullets know because teams are asking for a playoff. But big ten, big pac of wac’s don’t want a playoff. Can you imagine it? after the first round there’d be nothing but SEC teams left!!!!
I say LSU is the champ. period. Bama can be the first losser then UGA< ARK< SC or whatever. there is your real top 5 BCS!!!

Another meaningless joke of a bowl for our meaningless joke of a team against another meaningless joke of a team. It sux being mediocre. I bet our fans love it, though. We won ten and backed into the Outback Bowl…that’s all our fans ask for, which is why we will never be in the big one, much less actually win it. We should have declined the invitation and went to the Chic-fil-A Bowl or the Gator Bowl. Never in the history of sport has one coach done so little with so much talent…and 90% of the fan base love him for it. I just don’t get it. I’ll have to sit here and watch another SEC team win a title with talent comparable to ours for the sixth year in a row and it makes me want to vomit.

After our previous bowl invitations in the last 2 years, I think we Dawg fans need to be grateful to be in Tampa and that we should hope we win there. If we do, there is a good chance that we’ll do better next year which will result in an even better bowl. Georgia does deserve a bowl. After all Mark Richt just climbed out of the toilet bowl this year. Of all the places Georgia needs help at, RB should be top priority. Special Teams coach is a necessity as well.
Donmt be suprised if Isiah Crowell decides to transfer to a smaller school where competition is a little bit less competitive.
After being injured i think Isiah is rethinking his options and maybe playing at this level is detrimental to his health.
Of all the areas we’ve had problems with, the RB is the biggests problem. Dont know if its conditioning, the RB’s Coach, a reality check or just that we really have that bad an offensive line. Im not sure how Georgia will fare against Michigan State but i’d be on that phone talking to recruits and getting things done before its too late and the good ones are already signed.
This year could offset last years recruiting if Georgia ranks down below #20. I myself could recruit better than alot of the staffers at UGA.
Georgia is very limited in the area of coverage they recruit players and im not sure that Mark Richt or the University want to spend the money to travel to get players like LSU and Alabama do. Yeah i know Richt said he gets most of his players out of this state.
Is that just a cop out for limited recruiting or that Georgia doesnt want to spend the extra money to travel?

This is a good match up for Georgia. The Dawgs will encounter a solid MSU team, with a strong D and capable QB. We’ll need to treat it like an SEC game. A good win will increase our national buzz and be a good bridge to the 2012 season.

UGA did not get jobbed. No real difference between Capital One Bowl, Outback Bowl, Gator Bowl, Cotton Bowl, Chick-fil-A. Only difference is location. Prestige is the same. Any time the SEC goes against the Big 10 it’s a good match up.

The Sugar bowl Chose Michigan because their fan’s support them in out of town games. I have no idea why Virginia Tech was chosen ahead of about 6 other teams. The Cotton Bowl wanted Arkansas because they use to play in the old Southwest Conference and had some serious rivalry with some of the Texas team’s not to mention they recruit a lot of the same high school player’s. It made a lot more since than Arkansas going to Florida.
I think team’s like Boise State will never get the respect they want until they schedule and beat at least 2 very good team’s late in the year. Playing and beating a good team like Georgia the first game wasn’t very impressive but if they had scheduled us in November and had won then that would have been impressive. Georgia isn’t close to the team they where in September.

It’s as good as the Dawgs could hope for, given their lackluster season. Face it, while a win is a win, they were not even a 10-2 team this year. Some of the wins were pretty ugly. It should have been Georgia or Arkansas vs. Michigan State in the Sugar Bowl. Virginia Tech, which struggled to beat Duke and UNC– and which played four cupcakes in non-ACC games— lost by 4 TD;s to a reeling Clemson team that got blown out by NC State and USC late in the year. What in the heck are they doing in any BCS game?

Being relegated to the Outback Bowl sucks– for both teams. Arkansas should have been in the Sugar if not Georgia.

Beggars can’t be choosers, but it fits because Richt is an Outback Bowl kind of coach. Seems like a lot of UGA fans are satisfied with mediocrity. With a “D” like Michigan State has, it might be difficult to match up with no running back. UGA has become one dimensional with lousy play calling. That doesn’t spell a victory very well! UGA needs a stable of running backs to compliment Todd Grantham’s defense. By the way, what a heckuva job Todd has done this year with the defense! He certainly deserves a lot of praise and recognition which I hope is coming his way! Keep giving him more hosses for depth. Put Bobo and Crowell on the same bus.

For goodness, come to play in Tampa and finish the season on a high note and then pick up some good recruits. Murray and Charles, welcome home!! Eat some down home grits at Mama’s house and be ready for a good game!! It’s a good time to “display your talents”!! GO DAWGS!!

Here’s some facts for you. The Dawgs were given up for dead after the 0-2 start, many stating they would be lucky to finish the season at 8-5. Now with 10, possibly 11, wins for the season, trolls like you who’s team got beat by those same Dawgs are still on here like you have something viable to say. You obviously don’t but you’re gonna spout of anyway. Way to hang tough though troll nation.

Can someone tell me who that no 18 for Ga is? In all the years of my years of football I’ve never seen such fear as he exibited Saturday night. Let’s LSU run past him, made no attempt to make a tackle, then has the gaul to act as though he was chasing him. Ga’s back field quit on the team.
And that Crowell, what a prima donna. That boy just ain’t got any balls. If things get rough, he gets gone. That dwarf they have in the backfield has more guts that Crowell does. What a bust he is.

Ga best find a runnin back back with heart and power. That boy ain’t gonna get it done. But he surely has a big mouth and worms under his helmet.

And to the game, Ga’s coaches cost them the game. What in tarnation are they doing on the field? That was stupid and Richt allowed it. What is it with those idiots?

Tampa’s a great destination. Lived in the area for 7 years, best part, the gulf, worst part, UF fans and old yankees. Dawgs have got their work cut out for them against MSU. Some of you are still delusional if you think that CMR is a great coach. I hope there’s no extension and McGarity continues to push for changes. Dawgs played a great first half, we were outmanned obviously, but still not near tough enough to compete at championship level. Recruiting, conditioning, accountability, and mental toughness need to be the focus. I’m just not sure Richt is “mentally tough enough”, players follow the lead of their coach. Richt is soft IMO. Hope we play four quarters against MSU.

It is interesting to see tech. fans and others posing behind a fake name, still bitter about getting your butt handed to you for 10 out of the 11 years CMR has been coach, come onto a blog about UGA and still spout your crap. UGA is headed to a very decent bowl in sunny Florida, and you are headed to the Sun Bowl, in El Paso Texas. Having seen that place, just across the border from a poor Mexican city with a crime rate that makes Atlanta look like Disney Land. I should think you would keep your mouth shut. Don’t worry though, you will be able to get from your hotel suite, with the armed guards provided to teams playing in that bowl. The stadium capacity is about the size of yours, and since you can’t even sell out for home games, you should feel right at home there. No need to travel there since armed guards are not provided for the fans. Don’t eat too much of the food though as it would give you gas. Your team will stink enough as it is, and there is no need to to wipe out the half filled stadium of fans that way. Your play will have them leaving by the third quarter. Oh, and one other thing to remember. DON,T DRINK THE WATER.

Outback Bowl = Championship Game Loser Bowl. Glad to see South Carolina get a better bowl than us. This whole system is stupid. I’m so done with the bowls. I’d rather save ourselves for games that really count, aka next season. Only bad things can happen in this bowl – injuries, a loss. Even if we win and no one gets hurt, it’ll be no big deal. I think there is at least one QB on the radar. I would like to see more playing time for the one/one’s we have now. Don’t understand why Mason saw no quality playing time. Everything I hear he has the tools, and size. I know Murray is highly respected around the league, and his receivers didn’t help him a lot, but he also threw quite a few bad balls. And it isn’t the first time. All I’m saying is give Mason some playing time so we have an alternative if needed.

Regarding the RB’s. I watched football all season and sit there watching all these RB’s breaking off TD runs of 40 yards or running over people to gain the tough frist down. Then I watch UGA football and wonder why the heck can’t we have a RB like that?

Mark Richt played for The SEC Championship Saturday and Sunday he is the # 5-ranked SEC team in Every Single Solitary Poll, playing at 1 pm on Monday in a Bowl Game reserved for the # 5-ranked SEC team, the Outback Bowl, generally referred to as the Consolation Bowl.

Consolation Bowl Michigan State LOST the Big 10 Championship Game and is the # 3-ranked Big 10 team. Both are 10-Win Seasons, but then again so are 26 other teams 10-Win Seasons this season alone.

Michigan State’s Offense isn’t very good, but they have an excellent defense, as do we. Our Offense is better than Michigan State’s.

The difference is that Michigan State returns punts far better than we and they return kick-offs far better than we, but our coach knows what the heck he is doing, ok ? With no special teams’ coach and all walk-ons. Georgia does not stop punt returns well at all, and we are also deplorable at stopping kick-off returns.

Michigan State does not allow sacks and of course, with Aaron Murray, it doesn’t matter if 3 of the senior OL are considered NFL caliber or not, he holds the ball too long and does not show up against any team who ends the season in the top 25, ever. Not once.

0-8 vs teams finishing in the Top 25, Aaron Murray would be a significant part of why Michigan State might put up their only win against UGA in our proud 119-year history. This is because Michigan State is ranked # 12 today and clearly ends the season ranked in the top 25 whether we beat them or not. Georgia is # 18 in the polls.

# 12 Michigan State – 3rd-ranked Big 10 team, lost Champ Game
# 18 Georgia -5th-ranked SEC team, lost Champ Game
Consolation Bowl

Kirk Cousins most likely the more efficient quarterback this day, head-to-head as well. This will be game 9 in a Row where Aaron Murray was NOT CLOSE to being the better quarterback head-to-head vs teams who ended that season in the top 25. He self-implodes in these exact games. He fumbles. He throws interceptions. He gets sacked. He holds the ball too long. He throws the ball behind his receivers. He throws the ball over the heads of the receivers. He has a stellar group of receivers, who will have great success at the next level. But, he hasn’t beat a team who ended up ranked YET, and I will play Albert Einstein and suggest he loses this game too.

The Good News ? Georgia will end up as 1 of the 26 teams this season alone who have 10-Win Seasons, although we shall not have beat ANY of the other 26 teams with 10-Win Seasons this season. We shall also end up ranked for the 1st time in 3 consecutive years now this season, since we are # 18 and figure to drop no more than about 6 places if we lose our bowl game to a team who NEVER in their entire history has EVER beat ANY UGA team at all whatsoever.

Wake me up when he is the better quarterback, head-to-head, on the field of play vs ANY team who ever ends up in the top 25 of ANY Poll.

Why don’t we hold an election every year in december to place the correct teams in the NC game. We could run it just like the national elections. We could have head coaches buying tv time to prove that they deserved to be elected. The coaches could hold a couple of debates to convince those sitting on the fence. Imagine the turnout, every four years this election could run concurrently with the Presidential election. This would improve turnout in both elections. If we did this then we would get the democratic process involved so that we could choose the proper opponents.

I love it when you have an all SEC QB going into his Junior year and some dummies want to replace him with the backup. There is a reason why the backup is a backup. The coaches that see them practice everyday make them backups for a reason. You’re talking about a guy as a backup that no notable school was recruiting and UGA jumped on him the last month or so. We were the only big time school that offered him and that’s why he is a backup. If Mason had started that game Saturday against that defense we would not have scored a point. He came in for mop up when LSU’s starters were already out.

Yet another example of Crowell quitting again and running his mouth. Before he gets kicked off the team, I hope one of the guys who guts it out every week kicks his butt THEN he gets kicked off! Nothing wrong with freshman mistakes, etc. but a head-case ain’t what we need. He can only do two runs; one to the sidlines, and one (his mouth) at his opponants, the latter who usually have gotten the better of him. I’m a UGA fan, but I’d have liked to see the little honey-badger kick his butt in front of all fans, ours and LSU’s. Think he woulda’ stood a chance against a real football player? South Carolina had a great defense ?

Boise State had a great defense ? Their Passing Defense is barely Top 25.

South Carolina, last year, too, had a great defense ? South Carolina total defense last year was # 52 and their passing defense was # 107.

Arkansas had a great defense last year, too ? It wasn’t anywhere near a top 25 defense.

Missy State’s defense last year was # 53 total defense. That ain’t great either.

Colorado’s defense was # 83 total defense. Good heavens, your EXCUSES NEVER HOLD WATER.

Auburn’s Pass Defense was # 105 last year.

YET, HE LOST ALL THESE GAMES.

Aaron Murray was NOT the better qb head-to-head than ALL THESE QB and he will NOT be 1 pm on Monday in our bowl game, neither. That will be 9 losses in a row to A BETTER QB THAN HE HEAD-TO-HEAD ON THE SAME FIELD.

“Try addressing that ? Never mind. You are not capable of it.”

Try addressing the fact that you haven’t made your point.

Aaron Murray versus Stephanie Garcia twice. Neither time can you make a valid point that Garcia was the better QB

Aaron Murray versus Kellen Moore. Moore was the better QB but as a fifth year senior, that’s to be expected.

Aaron Murray versus Cam Newton. The guy won the heisman and was the first pick in the draft. Again, it was to be expected, although Murray was hardly at fault for that game and as far as a passing QB goes, Murray was far superior to Cam’s play. But Cam’s rushing ability was second to NOBODY as a QB goes.

Aaron Murray versus Jordan Jefferson. PLEASE?!?!?! If you think Jordan Jefferson outplayed Aaron Murray, you’re as incompetent as you are ignorant.

The fact is, Aaron Murray could have thrown for 400 yards and 5 TDs but as long as UGA lost that game, your no QB knowledge self would have blamed Murray for it.

How about the lack of a running game? How about the holes in the O-line? But no, to you it’s all the QBs fault. Somehow the people paid to analyze the game and coach the game are ALL wrong and you are right.

GET OVER YOURSELF! YOU HAVE NO VALIDITY TO YOUR POINT BUT THE PRECIOUS FEW OF YOU CAN’T SEEM TO FIGURE THAT OUT!!!

“Aaron Murray versus Stephanie Garcia twice. Neither time can you make a valid point that Garcia was the better QB”

You are KIDDING ME, of course ?

You think Aaron Murray played better IN EITHER GAME vs Steven Garcia, last year, or this year ?

2011 :
Steven Garcia 6 rushes 11 yards and one touchdown running.
Aaron Murray 6 rushes 9 yards and NO TOUCHDOWNS running
Steven Garcia 11 out of 25 with 2 interceptions 1 TD passing
Aaron Murray 19 of 29 with 1 interception PICK 6 – LOST GAME 4 TD pass
Steven Garcia 1 sack
Aaron Murray 2 sacks thrown around like a RAG DOLL and FUMBLED IT for 6 points too
Steven Garcia NO FUMBLES
Aaron Murray 3 fumbles 2 which directly led to 14 points, lost by 3 pts.

AARON MURRAY LOST THIS GAME ON HIS OWN.
Steven Garcia did NOT LOSE this game on his own, he WON.
Steven Garcia made fewer BAD PLAYS, all at the worst possible moment by Aaron Murray.
Aaron Murray settled for three (3) field goals, lost by 3.
Steven Garcia settled for one (1) field goal, won by 3.

“Aaron Murray did not lose the South Carolina game, by HIMSELF.”
B.S.
42-45 Aaron Murray LOST because of ALL OF HIS really SORRY TURNOVERS, he himself made 3 fumbles interception 2 sacks, cost us the game. And, then there is you saying that I have NOT ESTABLISHED that Aaron Murray LOST THE SOUTH CAROLINA GAME THIS YEAR, by HIMSELF.
Right. Keep telling yourself that. You will NOT find anyone who agrees with you on that.
Steven Garcia’s 2 interceptions were not returned 1 inch.
Steven Garcia’s one fumble was not returned 1 inch.
Of Aaron Murray’s 3 fumbles, 2 were returned 62 yards both costing TD.
Of Aaron Murray’s 1 interception, it was returned to the HOUSE him watching, TD. PICK 6.
________________________________________________
LAST YEAR :
Aaron Murray 14 of 21
Steven Garcia 12 of 17
3 of 11 on 3rd Down Conversions Aaron Murray
9 of 14 on 3rd Down Conversions Steven Garcia
6 rushes minus -15 yards Aaron Murray 3 sacks
12 rushes minus -4 yards Steven Garcia 4 sacks
settled for field goal attempts 2 each
Georgia 6 thank you Aaron Murray
South Carolina 17

6 – 17 game, you are going to have a HARD TIME showing Aaron Murray had a great game, son.

The guy threw no pics in just his second start and first in the SEC. You haven’t made ONE valid point yet. Again, it doesn’t matter what Murray does, you don’t like him. What is it? Is it a race thing? I mean you did call for Christian LeMay to already be playing this year despite EVERYONE who has seen him in practice saying he isn’t ready yet. Is that what it is?

Stop wasting your time

Happens in the NFL all the time too

A loser like bulldawg has to find someone to blame

Blame Murray? How about blame Bobo? Last year in overtime against Florida, Murray threw an interception that lost the game. No one has ever answered my question about that.

Did Bobo call for his inexperienced QB who had already thown a number of picks to throw the ball in overtime when he had an award-winning (at that time) field goal kicker waiting to kick for 3? Or did Bobo say to run it and Murray decided on his own he was going to throw? I know which one I believe (I don’t think Murray disregarded Bobo’s call).

I am still waiting to see if they give CMR and CMB five-year extensions based on their 10 wins over easy teams (and by the skin of their teeth on some of those – Vandy). Or will reason prevail and the AD will wait and see how they do on the remainder of their contract before committing to more years of the same thing.

I agree with Lex, don’t waste your time on an individual that has no clue about football and is also a closet tekie! They are suffering so bad of UGA envy that they don’t know how to conduct themselves on a civil board.

They had to wait 10 games before letting out their frustration on a UGA loss. I love & support the Dawgs as well, but agree with you. It’s only a game. I did not catch the 2nd half of the game because I decided it was more important to spend time with the family and decorate the tree. Even if UGA pulled off the upset I would not have turned on that game.

That is the problem. So will Mark Richt. For the $3 million per year, you would think people would want more than 10-3 over weak teams. Also, if you remember, CMR didn’t give us 10-3 last year , he gave us 6-7.

Do you really think that Urban left UF for his “health” or his “family”? After he signed with OSU, I discounted that in a hurry.

So maybe the 10-3 isn’t enough for you but they have won 2 SEC titles under CMR and a couple of SUGAR bowls to go with it. Were even able to buy tickets to the SUGAR bowl before he got there?

After 10 seasons, a coach should not have to wake up and decide it is time to rebuild a team. He should not have to go back and study the game of football. I am not saying fire Richt, but just don’t give him an extension yet.

Well Well, Look who is back on the blog today. The two biggest blowhards, who know nothing about football, and things all things football is red and black. Mr. Tampa Dawg and Mr. Dawginlex.

Got to be careful around Dawginlex or he will want to fight you. While Mr. Tampa Dawg wants to make all these bold statements that always fall 30 minutes short in a game.

Yeah, Yeah, UGA hung tough for 30 minutes, but just as EVERYONE who really knows football kept trying to tell you two “bloggers” that UGA is quite a few athletes short of being competitive with the big boys in the conference.

Everyone on these blogs talks about Marshal coming to UGA, just like last year when everyone wanted Crowell to come to UGA. ” He is needed, he will play, he will be our savior, we will used the “missing back formation’ on your visit to really show you how much we need you. Well, he was named Freshmen of the year, congratulations! I guess those suspensions, injuries and sideline penalties are all forgiven. As we all know, UGA fans saw visions of a 21st century “Hershel” in Crowell. Now the same UGA crowd is selling Marshall on the same re-hashed story. The problem is he also a smaller back who if rushed onto the field will end up just like Crowell, a beaten down horse down the stretch. I will say, Marshall seems to come from a better class of family than your Columbus native blunts smoker with dredlocks.

Losing 3 offensive linemen will do UGA in next year, counting on Theus to be the breakthrough OL? Ask Auburn how all those High school all everything linemen did for them this year. All that will do is allowing Murray to easily count the stars at night or airplanes during the day as he is laying on his back.

Building a foundation for 2012-2013, please. Just a question, does anyone really think your stud Defensive players will really return next season when they see the money on the table? If UGA has 2 of the 5 return it will be lucky.

I agree completely. The difference this year as opposed to the previous three was entirely based on scheduling.

I will admit that the UGA defense did play better as a unit and several key players were added that allowed Grantham to attack the line of scrimmage. He followed the plan set by Saban and John Chavis of LSU to bring in big DL to hold the line of scrimmage and force the OL to leverage on them while various angles of attacks from OL and drop in DB’s attacked.

The SEC is based on defense and depth at every position on defense will keep you in games much longer than depth on offense. We all know CMR is and offensive guy, and TG forced him to use scholarships on a JC stud, and some good Defensive players this past signing day.

The biggest problem that CMR is going to face is if some school offers TG some real money to move. TG is a Saban disciple and a Steele follower, he knows that he needs to work with a coach who is going to commit to a full defensive plan including targeting the top defensive players in each region of the country.

For my money Aaron Murray is too inconsistent and cannot WIN the BIG GAME. If you look at the SEC Champs for years now, except for Cam the Scam, SEC WINNING QBS are not TD record setters but they are game managers. Murray is NOT that.

We actually out gained LSU for the game. I don’t look at it as Georgia collapsed as much as our turnover’s gave LSU 21 unanswered point’s.
As much as I know CMR likes Murray I knew what was coming in the second half and everybody esle should have. Murray fumbled in the second quarter to let LSU go in at half time only behind 10-7. That mistake eat at Murray the entire half time and when he came back out he was hell bent on making up for one of the costly mistakes of the year. Up until then he really was careful with his throws but after that in the second half he made very risky throws and as we saw in the South Carolina game if you turn the ball over to a good team in the second half they will take advantage every time but the most important thing was it change momentum and then the game was over. If Murray hadn’t tried to force anything and doesn’t have any turnover’s Georgia would have beaten LSU because Miles would have replaced Jefferson with Lee and that would have been a mistake.
If Murray can’t play under pressure CMR need’s to find someone who can. So far Murray grades out as a C- or D+ as far as being able to lead when there is a lot of pressure. I hope that Murray will prove he has learned something and will run the offense in the bowl and in the spring better. I think he has the potential of being one of the great’s but he has got to stop making game changing mistakes.

The coach’s name is Richt. I mean, the CEO’s name is Richt. There is no head ball coach at UGA. That is the problem.

The sub-problem is called Bobo. Our offensive coordinator position should not be a welfare program because this guy is married to a relative of the Dooleys and has something like seven children
WAKE UP, IDIOTS!
Get used to the mediocrity if you do not have the gonads to fire Richt.

42 unanswered points, 0-8 vs teams who finished in the top 25 every year for our QB (sacks, interceptions, fumbles, over throws, throws behind receivers, 1 yard a carry 7 carries a game) and who picked Georgia ?

4 TD +

How will they feel if Alabama WAS the better team the 1st time and proves it when it counts ?

I don’t see us beating Michigan State, either, for the same reason.

Cannot deny that after stealing our Sugar Bowl invitation, Michigan looks good vs Virginia Tech who beat no one. Michigan did.

Alabama, Arkansas, Auburn, Vandy, and Missy State cover.

Actually, if you look at the BCS bowl games this season, this is the 1st year ever that the BCS offers us any good bowl games at all outside the NC game.

Don’t think anyone cares about Climpsum Farmers not covering against West Virginia. But, Michigan Virginia Tech Sugar Bowl is a lot better Sugar Bowl than what The SEC has been getting handed to play in that sorry BCS bowl. Okie State, who I figure ends up # 9 in the Final AP Poll does not cover facing off vs Stanford in the Fiesta consolation game. As an SEC fan, I find that amusing that those 2 have to play each other. It’s like the previous “BCS Bowl games” where they pitted the 2 weenies from non-BCS Conferences against each other. Just really funny Stanford causes Okie State to not cover. I mean after all, Okie State lost to 6-6 Iowa State and did not even play in a conference championship game; yet somehow never explained to ANY OF THE VOTERS IN ANY OF THE POLLS, Alabama who lost to # 1 in the nation at 13-0 LSU only, is somehow not as good as Okie State ? Double-wrong. Alabama beat # 7 Arkansas 11-2 (after bowl) who covers in the Cotton Bowl vs Kansas State 10-2 now soon 10-3. And, the Rose Bowl which usually gets the shaft from the BCS too, like Sugar Bowl has been happening to us every year – also got a nice match-up too : Oregon (who LSU beat) covers against Wisconsin who beat no one. I am really tired of the “Strength of Schedule” of Wisconsin EVERY year.

Top 4 SEC teams all got a lot better bowl with more monies than we got. I see Ohio State seeing Florida not cover to get their 1st bowl win ever against The SEC, since last season’s “win” tainted as it is over Arkansas is now vacated. Penn State after their scandal too, sees Houston not come close to covering and in fact losing too to Penn State. Auburn covers against Virginia in the Peach Bowl the vols don’t play in (5-7 no bowl) and that should be a fun game to watch as always too. The Peach Bowl gets it right, except paying SEC less than ACC when we kick their fanny with our what is it # 6 team vs their what # 2 team, whatever it is. SEC wins EVERY year. 6 vs 2. Give us our monies Peach Bowl. Vandy covers and gets a win vs Cincinnati at 9-3. Vandy wins a bowl game. Amazing stuff in bowl games this season, from The SEC perspective. Ok, so Georgia tek finally after 6 bowl losses in a row, has an opponent they can cover against – big deal a 7-5 Utah but the Sun does payout $ 4 million. Better than $ 325,000 Georgia tek has been winning to lose their bowl games every stinking year forever now.

7-5 Iowa finds Choke-la-homa, who beat no one again as per always every year, cannot cover. And, Missy State covers against Weak Forest. Florida State who beat no one, cannot cover vs Notre Dame who never wins a bowl game. Boise might put up 64 points. They actually found an opponent Texas can cover against.

No, sorry. I like the bowl games this season. Not defending the BCS, but Michigan State Georgia will be a whale of a ballgame, and I love Tampa – even if it is $ 7 million Outback, $9.2 million CapitalOne Bowl South Carolina not covering vs Nebraska, $ 7 million 250 thousand for Cotton Bowl Arkansas and Alabama and LSU both getting $ 17 million for us to share. Even Vandy gets $ 1.7 million for us and Missy State adds $ 3.67 million for us to share.

Gator Bowl pays only $5.4 million and Florida is their choice. Fascinating. Don’t tell me the game every year in Jacksonville is not at the Gator Bowl. Sure it is. Gator Bowl Florida and Ohio State in the U r ban M e yer Gator Bowl.

“Aaron Murray versus Jordan Jefferson. PLEASE?!?!?! If you think Jordan Jefferson outplayed Aaron Murray, you’re as incompetent as you are ignorant.”
____________________________________________
Aaron Murray 2 interceptions
Jordan Jefferson -0- interceptions
Aaron Murray COST US THE BALLGAME WITH HIS BLOODY FUMBLE. Up 10-7 at the time, Aaron Murray tried to prove he is Jordan Jefferson and put his head down trying to run the football with his 7 carries a game his entire career for a grand total of 1 yards per carry. He fumbled. Honey Badger recovered the fumble WITH LITTLE AARON MURRAY JUST SITTING THERE PLAYING REFEREE. “I ain’t going after that ball everyone could see I fumbled while I was still struggling forward. I’ll just sit here and yell I was down, I was down.”

He actually should have thrown 4 interceptions.

Anemic Offense, having to punt the football, and my God, watching slow Aaron Murray run his wee little body after one of the defenders after 1 of his 20 fumbles or his 20 interceptions in his sorry 26 games with 10 LOSSES (He LOSES 40 percent of his games for us as our Starting QB.) And, this is EXACTLY how he loses the games.

Aaron Murray 9 rushes for MINUS -6 Yards.

Jordan Jefferson 6 rushes for MINUS -5 Yards.

16 of 40 with 2 interceptions.

42 to 10.

42 unanswered points, while Jordan Jefferson directed the offense and got others involved. When Aaron Murray does not, you just make the excuse there isn’t anyone else on our entire team, except for Aaron Murray.

Well be a field general.

Lead the team.

Take charge out on the field.

Don’t look like a ninny, lose every game, call your own number every play, and give up 42 unanswered points with your FUMBLE, and 2 interceptions, and otherwise NOTHINGNESS of 16 out of 40.

4 sacks Aaron Murray
2 sacks Jordan Jefferson.

5-13 for 1 TD pass Jordan Jefferson
40 passes for Aaron Murray to get same 1 TOUCHDOWN PASS.

Jordan Jefferson WAS MUCH MORE EFFICIENT than Aaron Murray.

I said he would be pre-game. I said 4 touchdowns they beat us by. They beat us by MORE than 4 TD.

I’m right. You’re wrong.

Aaron Murray had A BETTER GAME THAN JORDAN JEFFERSON Saturday in The SEC Championship Game he LOST 10-42.

My God.

There is NO 1 who had a WORSE GAME Saturday than Aaron Murray.

Come in here, and Aaron Murray was BETTER than Jordan Jefferson. You have said some dumbsheet statements, but NONE worse than this 1.

There is an ENTIRE BLOG full of nothing but HOW POORLY Mark Richt has done coaching this team, again this season TampaDawg. Sit there all day every day typing and get your hat handed to you while I am working by this Rule the Roost. But, there are 25 other GOOD SOLID BULLDOG fans. They all say the same. Why not call them ALL Georgia tek fans ? You are holding this program BACK settling for your EXCUSES and tirades that every poster is some Georgia tek fan. Sad excuse. You cannot possibly sit there and think we beat anyone this season at 10-3 fixing to be 10-4 having beat NO ONE and with 26 other 10-Win Season teams too. As for your LIE that I want Kirby Smart; I said Kirby does not call the shots there at Bama. I listed for your perusal every fact, sat here and looked them all up of all the 26 teams with 10-Win seasons and those teams actually beat each other and therefore have wins among themselves while Mark Richt does not and plays in the # 5 bowl paying less monies to play in the Outback for us than the CapitalOne pays South Carolina, the Sugar Bowl Title Game for Alabama the Sugar Bowl Title Game for LSU, the Cotton Bowl for Arkansas. We are 2nd tier. In a conference of 4 teams at the top who all 3 from the west finish in the top 10, we have South Carolina outside that and us at # 18 fixing to be more like # 24 – having beat no one. And, a year to show for it. Ok, so you took on all comers last week while I was working and said to each how wrong they are. What happened after 5 pm TampaDawg ? Have to give up your Internet at work and go home ? 9 hours of telling everyone how great Mark Richt is ? This is your JOB, SON ? I played db. What did you play ? I know a better QB when I play him. Jordan Jefferson would start at LSU and Aaron Murray would RIDE THE PINES. I would far prefer to face AM because I know what I am getting a pass. A poorly thrown pass without zip. I can defend that. Jordan Jefferson comes to the line and I have to respect him. He’s bigger than I. I watch the pitch man, I cover JJ. I have my hands full. AM is A LOSER. Jordan Jefferson is A WINNER.

do you expect me to say ok, boys i understand, it is no wonder our backs get tackled in the backfield. it’s because you are so thin. i seem to remember that in preseason they were the biggest in D1 and expected to be the strength of the team.
quit making excuses and kick some butt. step up and drive them off the ball. live up to your hype for a change.

I didn’t see a single Georgie fan on the streets of Atlanta yesterday. Guess all that Georgie paraphernalia was magnetic.

“Aaron Murray is not all america ?…” true Murray is not as good as everyone thinks he is. If Saturday afternoon’s game isn’t proof enough of that, nothing will be. He obviously cannot play under pressure, and the weak defenses you had faced thus far did your team no justice in preparation. But he did not “cost you the game” as you stated. Remember, you have to play all 60min in order to win. I know that you would like to find one single reason why you lost, but give it up already. The Bulldogs were outplayed in a game that they did not deserve to be in, and that they could have never competed in. But don’t feel too bad, no one in the east (or in the nation, save Bama) could stand toe to toe with us either.

At least Ga. Southern gets to play meaningful post-season games.

Every bowl game except ‘bama/LSU is meaningless. Win and you’re done; lose and you’re done. I will not watch any of these glorified exhibition games. And if everybody else did the same, this “mythical national championship” bullsh*t would disappear and make way for a playoff…which is the way God intended champions to be determined.

When the score is 10-7 when you have SQUANDERED 4 opportunities for touchdowns and NOT GOT THEM, and you come out in the 2nd half, up 10-7, and PRETEND YOU ARE JORDAN JEFFERSON and can run the football up the middle of a defense every bit as good as The Junkyard Dawgs, and fumble – sit there pouting, whine to officials waving your arm I WAS DOWN I WAS DOWN when everyone knows like, you, too, that you were NOT CLOSE to being down, and that results in 10-14.

The Game was OVER.

We never did score after 10-14.

The game was LOST, right there, right then, for that VERY REASON.

Ok, so what if LSU went on to put up 42 unanswered points ?

The game was OVER.

10-14.

So, he threw the football to LSU players 6 times and had 2 intercepted AFTER THAT.

Ok, so those ended up TDs for LSU too.

He also, Aaron Murray, was SACKED 4 TIMES. And, settled for field goals punts and 16 of 40. 40 passes to get 1 TD pass. Jordan Jefferson threw only 13 passes and MATCHED AARON MURRAY’S 1 TD PASS in 40 FLINGS OF THE FOOTBALL, playing one man band.

For all this time, you have totally ignored EVERY POST on the blog and said whatever you wanted purple and whatever gold I guess, look tiger, (1) The better team will PROVE it when it matters and the early lines once -1 LSU are -1 Bama now and (2) this post is some numbnutts DISNEYdawgs.com RING LEADER telling his Mark Minions that Aaron Murray WAS A LOT BETTER THAN JORDAN JEFFERSON.

I refute that. No Aaron Murray did not give all the 42 points. He put up 10 points and he gave up about 21, right ? By himself. And, he LOST THE GAME FOR US.

Now, go whine on the bama blogs how bama doesn’t deserve to be playing you so you could play with YOUR SORRY OFFENSE against the # 107 defense of Okie State who ends up # 9 in the Final AP Poll while you end up # 2.

Yes change is needed as the direction under CMR has fallen in the past 6 years but what you knee jerking spoiled brats are suggesting is to totally destroy this program just like Tenn.’s fan base did to the Vols. Until I hear of a coaching candidate that can take this program forward with success from you bugger eating morons then there are few new names I will scroll by on these blogs. Dawgnation – so you are not disagreeing with us that CMR isn’t up to the job, but we should give him an extension because there isn’t anything else and we should just get used to being a second tier football program.

How about this? We keep Richt but we change his pay scale. He gets $300,000 for every win over a ranked team. He gets $50,000 for every win over other SEC teams. And he gets $10,000 for every win over OOC teams like Coastal Carolina. Oh, and throw in a Big bonus for Championships. Think he would go for that? That sounds fair to me. Then he might be more interested in WINNING.

I mean really? Most of you so-called fans are blaming Murray? Really? How about the three critical drops by the WR’s, of which two were sure touchdowns? Don’t throw up stats without those facts. Also in the second half we were without our #1 and #2 RBs – IC (for all intents and purposes) and Thomas. Like Dawg in Lex said, without any running game the result was inevitable against LSU’s D. Murray plays hard, plays hurt, keeps his nose clean, and is a very good QB. Blame IC for this loss, as well as our putrid special teams, if you want to point fingers. After sitting in Memphis last year and getting our butts kicked by Central Florida, I’m thrilled to be in the Outback Bowl this year against a quality opponent. Go Dawgs!

All he has is FLAME POSTS about every poster to every blog EVER.

Never once just he share his view of the game from his seats and what he saw. Not once, does he discuss from his vantage point of the position he played what he sees and does not see.

All DawgNation can do is come running in here, login, and say this poster or that poster is NOT a Bulldog and he is – all the while ADMITTING that Georgia STINKS and has STUNK he says for 6 years now. He said that just now. 6 years STUNK TO HIGH HEAVEN.

Oh, but NAME me a coach. Oh and I am so smart having never discussed what I see from my seats or what I see from my experience at this position or that position, that I just SCROLL PAST YOUR JUNK. Well, I read his posts Old Dog, and yours. You run rings around him and hand him his hat. So, does everyone else. Because he CANNOT DREAM that Georgia is not 1 of the 25 teams with a 10-Win Season. He actually thinks 10-Win season is special. You can have 10-Win season, beat no one and NOT END UP RANKED in the top 25. Can’t tell him that. Because HE is LEGEND in his OWN MIND.

Forget all the 33 transfers out, quit, kicked-off just gone scholarship players that would have made our 10-7 lead have some chance of being held up. But, no. He wants to say YOU don’t know what YOU’RE talking about, never mind he never has established ANYTHING except that he is GREAT in his own mind and by the way, prove to him that someone else is better.

Forget the coaching debacles such as Mike Bobo. Bryan McClendon. Willie Martinez. That’s not the fault of the head coach. A head coach never held the position, clearly knows what the heck he is doing, even if the fan in Macon was RIGHT. And, Mark Richt knows the fan in Macon is right.

Forget calling his own players DUMBa**, a scholar on the dean’s list but it is ok for Mark Richt to call him a DUMBa**. Gave him the Scholarship HIMSELF, but still he is DUMBa**. Takes the a** back leaving still the dumb. “I apologize,” Mark Richt said “for using the curse words.” There only was 1 curse word. And, yes he used it. Take away the a** and you are STILL LEFT with Mark Richt calling his own Scholarship Recruit “DUMB.”

Forget 3 wins out of 14 games over 11 years vs teams finishing in the top 10 all 11 years.

Forget 17 wins out of 44 games vs teams finishing in the AP top 25 all 11 years.

Forget 17 losses over 11 years vs teams NOT 1 OF WHICH end up top 25 without their Win over Mark Richt (and 10 of the 17 still were not top 25 even with their win over Mark Richt.)

Forget the lies that he is the 4th best coach in all of America when in HIS BEST YEAR IN AGES THIS SEASON, HE IS NOT IN THE TOP 4 in his OWN CONFERENCE, even.

“Aaron Murray is not all america ?…” just because you are used to hearing whining from all the Georgie fans doesn’t mean the rest of the nation does it. And just look at your comments… you say that I’m gonna whine about blah blah blah? I’ve heard three-year-old girls complain less than you. But I understand why you boys do it… it hurts when you’re made to look like the cupcake we all knew you were, on national TV. In fact the entire east and all of your opponents have been cupcakes. You were simply the one with sprinkles.

Bama does deserve to be there with us. They are definitely the second best in the nation. With regards to your comments on lack of scoring, unlike Georgie, they have a run game and the size and strength to run up the middle. Unlike Georgie, they have receivers who make an effort to catch something thrown within three yards of them. But like Georgie, fortunately for us, they have a FG kicker who couldn’t kick a bad habit. I can’t see why you’re surprised about your lack of offensive punch. You lost one of the two SEC games you scored more than 40 in, and other than that you’ve been the one with anemic offense outings, even against very marginal defenses. What I still cannot even fathom is why you think you had a shot. Your play in the second half was no different than the first. We made the adjustment, you didn’t.

So no it was not one person’s fault. You simply want to give him (Murray) all of the blame. Spread it around, cause losing as bad as you did is a shared effort, one that your whole team can be proud of.

I don’t whine. You do. You are whining about Alabama not wanting to play them because you know they will not miss 4 field goals against your no offense LSU team.

I am the very 1 who called us CUPCAKE.

I did that BEFORE you beat us.

I am NOT giving Aaron Murray ALL THE BLAME.

You know NOTHING about that which I write, because you RUN IN HERE, LOGIN, post 3 posts and LEAVE.

Mark Richt is to blame # 1.

Mike Bobo is to blame, but that’s not his fault, he was stolen from JAX State as their QB to be our Offensive Coordinator for Mark Richt.

Bryan McClendon a WR teaches and recruits our RB. We don’t have 1 or a FB. You have 5 RB with MORE TDs this season than Isaiah Crowell.

Take your opinions if you aren’t going to ask, and assume you know how I feel, having NOT READ A SINGLE POST ON THIS BLOG, EVER, and shove it.

I blame Isaiah Crowell.

I also, YES SIR, I absolutely do BLAME Aaron Murray as well.

I blame him to EVERY DISNEYdawgs.com poster to this forum ever who all have told me along with blog writer Chip Towers that he is the # 1 QB in The SEC.

Well, that vote went out today and as I said, he is NOT.

Tiger, you just cannot make those statements to ME.

December 6th, 2011

You have plenty of blaming to go around and have set yourself up well on that point with your whining here that Alabama does NOT belong in the game with you.

Sure they do.

NO 1 agrees with you.

And, you are LOSING TO THEM.

You’ve done it now.

I was going to cheer for LSU vs Alabama.

Now, since I have them in the bowl pool I won last year again this season, I will cheer them on – I knew they are going to beat you.

And, I am positive that is the only reason why you don’t want to play them but some team who did not play for any conference championship and who LOST to a 6-6 Iowa State really cruddy team.

Instead, you actually think absent anything to the contrary here by you YET, that Alabama does NOT deserve to play you.

You KNOW you lose to Bama.

Mark Richt should have been 7-4 vs Florida; instead he is 3-8. The 7-4, by the way, assumes that the better players win. Better players, worse coaching staff. Obviously and clearly. A good coach would have won some of the 4 losses. 1 or maybe even 2. That could be 9-2 vs Florida and certainly should have been 8-3 instead of 3-8.

4 losses, so what ? We’ve played 4 teams who end up in the top 25 and lost ALL 4. All 4 games, Aaron Murray was NOT the better QB head-to-head.

Same as last year, played 5 teams who end up top 25 and Aaron Murray LOST ALL FIVE (5) and all 5, the better QB head-to-head all 9 of these games over his starts to-date, were BETTER than Aaron Murray.

He didn’t play Tyler Wilson, or that would be 10. South Carolina did. South Carolina and everyone else beat you Florida crocodiles. Florida is actually favored over Ohio State U r ban M e yer Gator Bowl. I’ll take the points, but will not need them against that program is such disarray as they are. Ohio State beat no one, either. There are a lot of teams who beat no one. But, their fans don’t run in here login and say we are great having beat no 1 ranked in any poll nor likely to end up being ranked for this season in the top 25.

Anyway, Auburn is NOT RANKED and neither is Georgia tek RANKED EITHER.

Neither will be in any top 25 poll when the season is over either. This with both winning their bowl games Auburn over unranked Virginia and Georgia tek over unranked Utah.

14-game season and they end up with 8 and 9 wins.

About what Mark Richt averages for his 11 seasons.

This is the time of year that changes are made. First with all the problem’s we have had with our last 7 or 8 running back’s , McClendon is not the answer for a top 10 program. I don’t think there is any argument there.
The next problem that must be addressed is for someone to be the special team’s coach . If Belin had stayed at Georgia I feel Georgia may have been undefeated this year. Special team’s lost every game that we lost except the Boise State game. What lost the Boise State game was when Ogletree went down Grantham didn’t quite have his defense tweaked yet. They could not have beaten Georgia late in the season. Turnover didn’t help.
Now for the players: Murray has got to prove he can play under pressure without turning the ball over. CMR and Bobo has got to put strict guidelines on Murray and make him more disciplined and less inconsistent. As much praise as Murray get’s the Quarterback position need’s to be won or lost in practice this spring . Murray has got to earn the starting job for next year. Get one or two bigger running back’s that can run up the middle, 5′ 6″ running back’s are not going to get the job done in the SEC, and shore up the offensive line. I hope part of the problem will be solved today if Marshall sign’s with Georgia . We may have to go to the Jr. College route for the offensive line.
The final problem is can the Freshman punter and kicker that have committed for 2012 get the job done. I can’t get any information as to how they did their last year in high school.
Our defense next year will be one of the best in college football . If we get our offense problems handled Georgia will stay in the top 10 all season next year. Grantham has my vote as coach of the year as far as the defense go’s. WE ARE NOT FAR OFF FROM BEING A GREAT TEAM.

Do you think Richt or Bobo will EVER pull Murray? It will never happen. Murray will continue as QB as long as he is there because CMR believes in being loyal. Just like he is loyal to Bobo and was loyal up to the breaking point with Martinez.

No. I actually said that Alabama was the BETTER TEAM the last time you played them. So, bandwagon. You have a set number of responses. You plug them in whoever you speak with, like I said it. You are a complete liar, utterly. You act like LSU is so great when it looked to me like Alabama should have won and all you can say is neither of their kickers could catch a cold. Excuse me. Nick Saban has been doing what about that since that game ? You don’t have a clue bubbette. You have not posted to this blog before LSU week. You showed up. You logged in. You posted away. You never read 1 post. Nor 1 reply. Now, that you won, you act like what you said pre-game about us is what we were saying to you. No. That is not what was said, but you didn’t read the replies and now you do. Fine read away. Post here for all I care. Stay here until 9 January when you lose to Bama. Your offense stinks to high heaven. You have no business talking in here about how you are going to beat Bama. You have NO HOPE. I have always enjoyed my conversations with LSU fans FOREVER. You are the 1st and only ever to totally turn me off son. PurpleNGold, grow up. Your team is NOT NC this year. 2007 yes, you beat 2 top 10 teams and we beat NONE. You win straight up no questions about it. If you ever want to know what real Bulldogs’ football fans think, sit back, quit trying to have the conversation be all about you, and learn about UGA football. We’ve played football toe-to-toe with LSU for 119 years. We have our advantages and you yours. In the Les Miles and in the Nick Saban years, you have been better than us. In the Mark Richt era, your superiority over UGa is unquestioned.

Then, you run in here like I said, not someone else, me like I said we are better than LSU. STFU. No, I take that back. Say whatever you will.

You STILL LOSE TO BAMA.

Well, I have been looking for the idiot that predicted a UGA win by the score of 56-0, but since he is obviously an uneducated jerk, I guess he will crawl back into his hole. Now, I did predict a close game score of 31-13, and a NOT SO CLOSE score of 45-10. Paul Finebaum called out all the puppy dog fans Saturday, calling the Dawgs a fraud champion of the East. LSU merely proved him right. They had no business in that game. The Defense played good for awhile, but… they forgot that the game is 60 minutes, not 25 minutes. They spent almost 37 minutes standing on the sidelines, and were worn down by the LSU offense. So much for the new strength & conditioning coach. Even the former star, Buck Belue, railed on the team, saying there needs to be changes in recruiting. Dream Team??? More like nightmare team. The only one that benefited from all this is CMR. He will get an extension and a fat raise. Worst thing that could have happened to the football team.

At that point, will not have beat any team ranked in any poll that day either, not that year, not the year before that, not the year before that and will have been 8 years since we beat a team who finished in the top 10.

But, me thinks in the meantime, that you will come back and share your special knowledge, as mine too, of Bulldogs when we DID BEAT TOP FOOTBALL TEAMS.

Nowadays, all we care about is SAYING WE ACHIEVED 10-Win season in a 14-game SEASON, meaning we missed out on 4 wins.

We played 4 teams this year who will end up in the top 25, including Michigan State.

Fully, as Albert Einstein said, this will be a LOSS, too.

For those that believe that BAMA will win over LSU, they are wrong. While I might not agree with the way some bloggers, like purplengold, look at LSU (as if they’ve never been unworthy – hello, Gerry Dinardo); it’s pretty clear that LSU is the team to beat. Sitting in the dome rooting for Georgia on Saturday was a bit disappointing since I’d already felt like I knew the outcome would be as it was. I certainly wasn’t crying in my corn flakes…that’s for sure. Yea, if UGA wouldn’t have kicked off to the Honey Spanker and actually would have caught the 2 TD passes it was supposed to (and made that missed FG), you’d be looking at a game that was more like 35 to 28 or 35 to 31…regardless, LSU still was the better team this year. I wouldn’t define it as a shellacking knowing this. If LSU had lost, this blog would be reversed, and bloggers like purplengold would be supposedly “crying in his corn flakes”…but at the end of the day, he isn’t. We have nothing to cry about because if you’d told me that we’d go 10-3 at the beginning of the season, I’d say you’re on drugs. I’m not jumping off the bandwagon and despite what short-term memory fans might think, it’s not like LSU will never lose to UGA again. Every team goes up and down. Georgia will have LSU’s number again, just like it did in 2005. And LSU will have Georgia’s number again, just like this year. That’s why we call it college football.

I presume Chip Towers is on Vacation ? I wrote more about Keith Marshall show I watched in entirety, over on Jeff Schultz blog – where Jeff makes the point that as UGA fans we turned sour on Isaiah Crowell’s antics on and off the field, and now Jeff Schultz says what if Keith Marshall is the same ? Well, that isn’t going to happen. Jeff knows that. He is stretching. This is the UGA blog. We deserve to have had a blog here on a timely basis.

Keith Marshall wanted to come here because “Mark Richt is a man of God.” I don’t have to quess or wonder why he chose UGA. He said his dad who was drafted by the Denver Broncos as a running back, after running for over 4,000 yards at James Madison – a good school and a good football school too, gives Keith Marshall hope that he can surpass 4,000 yards at UGA. He’ll have 3 years to do that. $1,300 yards including freshman season required. If we don’t play in SEC Championship Game, that is 102 yards per game every game for 3 solid years.

A young person has to have goals. Obviously, Keith Marshall is a perfect complement to the current tailbacks Bryan McClendon has brought here for Mark Richt and Rodney Garner. Rumored as fast as in the 4.23 range for 40-yard dash, all I know is he is fast. He’s not big at 5′ 10″ 190 lbs., but a RB does not have to be big, in fact the best running backs are typically not 5′ 6″ small or 165 lbs. small but small can be an advantage if you are just under the size of a big RB. What is the common thread among the RB at UGA after Knowshon Moreno ? Keith Marshall is the complete opposite.

I listened intently to his mom and to his dad, both very well spoken, about how they raised Keith Marshall studying his academics and how they monitored academics with him, telling him that : “Success is who you are, not what you do.”

His Dad is bigger than he is. This is a big huge hole we need, as noted. John Theus is on the OL ahead of him. He made no notice of John Theus, but I would think some other players will want to join him here.

We need to give up some other position coach, and get us a Special Teams’ Coach from the NFL. I know his 1st move would be to open up every special teams’ position to everyone on the team who wants to play special teams.

We need, and should now have an opportunity, to sign another FB like the one we have coming in next year. We need a big Safety. We need to go the NFL and pay for an Offensive Coordinator. There have been way too many games against the top teams, where we give up consecutive scoring runs of 31, 29, 42, and 42 points. Games where the offense was a no-show as if asleep for long periods of just wearing down our defense, while our special teams’ flopped on their collective faces. All 3 phases during very poor.

Bryan McClendon, Keith Marshall tried to call at 1:45 after he called Mark Richt, but he was on a plane. So, he called him right after the announcement and before his personal interview on Fox Sports for a half-hour I watched in entirety.

I know why Keith Marshall came here. NC, NC State, Weak Forest, Duke, those are not football schools. So, # 1 out-of-state. 2, he has always been a Bulldog. 3, he is a Christian. 4, he said Mark Richt is a man of God. 5, he prayed about this decision and was confident and clear about it. 6, he really likes Bryan McClendon. 7, we don’t have a full complement of RB and Keith Marshall stated that he “wants to come to UGA and have an immediate IMPACT as a freshman” but that would be up to the coaches.

Mark Richt can recruit. Bryan McClendon can recruit. Recruiting is the lifeblood of any college football program. We have additional needs in OC, Special Teams’ coach, FB, big secondary players, about 4 top OL, and a consistency in our Offense.

Did you have some point about that ?

I see Aaron Murray has been determined to be the best quarterback in The SEC by no one yet.

Cherry Picker

December 7th, 2011
6:53 am

We need this (or that) new recruit.

We need a new OC.

We need to play the backup QB.

We need a different offensive scheme.

We need a special teams coach.

We need to improve the off-season strength and conditioning program.

We need to get serious about discipline.

We need an easier OOC schedule.

We need etc., etc., etc.

No… What we need to do, after 11 long years, is to face the ugly truth and hire a Head Coach who doesn’t need the fans to tell him how to run Georgia’s football program. Either that, or we need to stop all the bitching and just accept the fact that we’re a mediocre, second tier SEC football program.

4.29 GPA

December 7th, 2011
7:21 am

Well, of course, I believe that this football program of mine does need the input of the fans. We have brought about great changes for the better around here. Yes, the items you list are a great beginning point for our needs, and no I don’t believe that Mark Richt has demonstrated a great grasp of these specific areas you delineate.

I don’t believe that there is any manner or form you can dream up to try to paste The # 11 college football program all-time in WINS as mediocre, Second Tier SEC program. There are only 2 others with more SEC Championships than ourselves and 1 of them is ahead by one SEC Championship alone.

We haven’t been close now for years.

We could be closer now. We haven’t done well in recruiting for 2012 but adding yet another long-term Bulldog fan of Keith Marshall’s caliber should assist significantly.

Aaron Murray is not a bad quarterback. He just isn’t the best yet. He has specific areas which our OC and head coach just haven’t addressed successfully yet. If we can add some more OL, we will have a fun time over the Summer discussing our Future. There are other needs FB we got 1 of, big secondary players, but honestly, talent is not the problem with not beating the top teams. Michigan State is a top team; maybe not the elite top team, but top team enough that our practices now have to be focused to get our special teams and running backs in a short-term better situation. This season is over. It has largely been one of not beating the top teams and having a full year’s worth in a row of bad press off the field because of players that have been run out of the program. Those scholarships need to be converted not to walk-ons who will come here anyway, but to more Keith Marshall players. Keith Marshall himself should be a huge big advantage in this area along with John Theus to get these others.

You cannot argue with Mark Richt’s recruiting.

Bryan McClendon’s either.

Seriously.

So, we dream on of another year, this one largely wasted against the better teams we played. 1 of those stands out South Carolina whom I know all of us are in agreement, we should have beat. Michigan State is in this same caliber of opponent, if not slightly better than South Carolina.

This season is over. There is the last game at 1pm 4 Mondays from now. I am more focused on next year than I am in seeing what in 4 weeks we can do to fix this team so it can beat a top team. The time for that, was this time last year when we stood firm with a pat hand, which was anything but a pat hand.

Mark Richt, Chip Towers could be right, is going to have to be extended beyond 2 years, from the recruiting stand-point. I would like to add a clause to his contract about paying for beating top teams.

# 11 all-time college football program, UGA, does not have to hold its collective head down to anyone. We just aren’t beating the good teams, and have not been for obvious reasons, many of which you just listed.

Good post good question. I don’t think mediocre is how # 11 all-time program can possibly be resigned to be; maybe striving to take advantage at this time when the ones between us and top 10 all-time are all struggling too; but resigning ourselves to 2nd Tier, isn’t right and I think you admit that ?

As for the head coach. Well, he might not be fully seasoned to be a head coach yet; but, I like him. The recruits love him. I’m not perfect either. Bottom line, is I like the guy. Wish he could beat some top teams, which he really has never done here. He needs to search his own soul and staff for that, and his recruiting of players he then wants to discard. Keith Marshall is a 3-year keeper.

6 out of the last 7 SEC consecutive NC teams have been coached
by carpet bagging Ohio bred coaches, who came South to plunder
the SEC talent, knowing this was an opportunity to gain fame.

Now, one of these carpet bagging coaches has fled back to Ohio
plundering his former SEC team by taking their recruits, coaches,
strength coaches back to Ohio.

I’m ok with that too, with caveats. I want specific wording in extension beyond 2-years and want that now, during this recruiting cycle now – between today and BEFORE the bowl game, to read that wins over teams finishing top 25 get this bonus, and that wins over teams finishing top 10 get this ADDITIONAL BONUS.

And, of course, after the season, after 4 Mondays from now when Greg McGarity finally sits down about the areas for improvement that he intervenes in special teams’ coach and where that position coach can be cut by Mark Richt to open that position up, and that Greg McGarity get down and dirty with Mark Richt about what does and what does not constitute DISCIPLINE. Mark Richt just doesn’t understand it; and, it has nothing to do with HIDING suspensions. In fact, the contrary. I believe Mike Bobo has to replaced, not put down a notch to QB coach. There is no way you could describe the moving forward, teaching, evaluation, training, aspects of our Quarterbacks on this roster, are advancing. If anything, what Aaron Murray brought with him (like Matthew Stafford) has not been added to or improved in this season over last season. 0-8 vs 8 teams who end up top 25 for both seasons is totally unacceptable.

I wonder what the excuses will be if UGA loses to the ” boring” Michigan State?
1. Ref’s
2. They were disappointed with what bowl they got ( the old Alabama/Utah excuse)
3. They needed the big 10 to win a bowl game.
4. All of our RB were in jail
And of course if they win they will claim dominance over college football.

After 11 seasons?

Yes, after 11 seasons, you either have (1) one year of experience 11 times or (2) you have or could have had a mentor Vincent Dooley, to show him areas of being a head coach which Mark never was before and assist him. We have # 1. Replacement red panties and now tennis player, neither have any experience at this at a major college level. He is figuring out what to try and try it and then try something else.

Specific examples. Coaching staff. 1st, he tried to specifically never hire anyone from the NFL. Said that he believed they are not loyal to program. Instead, we have had poor coaching staff for him, loyal, but haven’t taught the players what they need to know – how to hold a ball running with it for example. 2nd he tried hiring a coach from the NFL and here we are. Now, he might lose him. Ok, he will find another good choice. It happens. Cannot keep the guy down. Good assistants should leave. Happens. If the assistant stays, I believe you could have an issue with them. Now, if you can pay them more money, by all means keep them.

Definition of Mediocre : Yes, 0-8 this entire season and last entire season vs teams who finished top 25, is clearly mediocre – both seasons. This season we averted losing to teams, who if they did not beat Mark Richt, they would not end up in the top 25. That also is definition of a poor loss. Poor losses is mediocre. You might be able to withstand 1 such loss, but not every year. 1 such loss every 2 years is too many. We have 17 in 11 years such poor loses. Thus, yes, very definition of mediocre.

Might jump ahead of you here, Old Dog, but if we are mediocre and we are and have been for many years, by all accounts to this blog for 6 years and counting – that does not mean I support the firing of Mark Richt and his staff as he so chooses them to be today.

I like Mark Richt. Always have.

The man can recruit.

Kids don’t flock to that flop at Georgia tek, Paul Johnson, sitting right here downtown in a city of 6 million – now, do they ?

I know I know we are Georgia and kids like Keith Marshall grow up dreaming being a Bulldog.

I understand that.

I’ve lived here all my life.

I did that.

What I am saying is that Mark Richt cannot be let go. Cannot make it more clear where we are with him. Frustrated, absolutely. But, it is not his fault that Michael F. Adam$ took Vince from him before he ever got to sit down with him and teach him specific skills such as how to hire Erk Russell.

Vince Dooley has hired a ton of Erk Russell coaches to UGA. Mark Richt, for 1. I can name in my years of watching his hires another dozen Mark Richt and Erk Russell coaches he hired to this University, some of which are still here, such as Andy Landers. Many many more.

We just need to provide him, and I believe we owe it to him, hiring him as we did with no coaching experience. We need to teach him these areas.

Look.

If we let him go, he will have gained this knowledge here which he has learned. He will not make the same mistakes at the new place. Or, he might give up his Calling. But, if he doesn’t, he is young. Overpaid, but young. If he is going to go somewhere else and make new mistakes there and not have this issue of his coaching staff hires here which he has been abysmal at, at some new place – I say, then, let him do that here. He has most of a staff who for the most part are ok.

I am not settling for 106 wins in 11 years. Yes, it ends at 106 for 11. His staff and players not forced out demonstrably are not able to project a win over Michigan State. Even if they were, that is 107 wins in 11 years. There were, in fact, 152 available games to have been won. He won 106.

This is not 1966 when 10-1 was # 2 in the nation or even # 1. This is 2011 where 10-Win season is possible and not even be top 25 since there are 26 teams with 10-Win season this season alone.

Consistently, he has 17 out of 44 vs teams finishing top 25 he beat.
He has 3 out of now 14 teams finishing top 10 he has beat.
He has 17 losses to teams none of which would have been top 25 had they not beat him.

At both ends, beating top teams and losing to teams he should not have, he has been mediocre.

Why is it ?

Clearly, 11 years of an average # 52 Total Offense.

Clearly, 11 years of off-field running off of recruits he gets great praise for bringing here. Maybe even the reason why I want him to get his extension now Old Dawg, that he does get great praise for his recruiting.

Clearly, 11 years of losing games he should not have and not beating the top teams.

Sorry, but I like the guy.

We need to teach him that which is obvious he has no clue. Probably the most glaring of which is that Christians forgive, and that ain’t discipline. Discipline is calmly walking over to Isaiah Crowell when he disrespects me and turns his back to me when I am talking to him, holding his hand, walking him to the lockerroom and seeing to it that the Security assists him in removing his uniform and escorting him out of the facility directly to his parents or high school coach or whoever it is.

Then, when that petulant child comes back, I have my say.

Mark Richt has lots of areas where he needs training.

I don’t mean to rain on anyone’s parade, but I like the guy.

As a Tech fan, I was going to come over here an trash talk Crowell. Before I did that, I did a Control F “Crowell” on this page and read some of the hundreds of comments. I don’t need to. You guys have “hanged, drawn and quartered” him already.
Do you remember that “Dream Team” crap you started? This is the fruit of your idolatry.

Wit? What in the blazes would you know about wit ?

A Georgia tek fan, just blistered for 10 of the 11 years of Mark Richt, comes into this UGA blog and has something to say ?

Witless prima facia witless.

Go back to your NCAA PROBATION and call me when you are NOT on NCAA PROBATION.

ok?

Head coach hiring is picking up. That means other head coach job’s have to be hired and a lot of coordinator’s will have to be replaced.
McGarity need’s to make a statement that Grantham is not on the market by giving him at least a 3 year extension and raised up to at least 1 million with bonus’s.
I would also give CMR an extension but with 2 year’s left he can wait but Grantham need’s to be locked in NOW. I for one would like to give Grantham at least 4 more year’s just to see how good our defense can get.

Sorry tech dude but what I saw was a team with a GREAT defensive game plan executed to perfection for 1 half.

i saw a team on the other side with much more depth that wore us down in the 2nd half.

I saw a sure handed freshman receiver drop a sure TD. It could have been 21-0. It wasn’t. We made the mistake of punting to the best athlete on the field. TD shouldn’t have counted if the replay guy had done his job but it did.

I see a defense being coached by former NFL coaches. I see a defense set to be great for years to come.

I see an offense in need of running backs and more big uglies.

I don’t see where our head coach got outcoached but you went to Tech so you are obviously smarter than me.

How can that be ?

We sacked your quarterback twice, he fumbled it once, and he threw 2 interceptions in route to a complete dismantling by the significantly better recruits we have your joke of a coach cannot begin to match. 31-17. Your own coach, Yanked your quarterback, then. Here we are in the last game of the regular season and after 12 games, your coach doesn’t even know who his quarterback is ? Then, you run in here and what ?

The Outback Bowl is a mediocre bowl. Why is everyone trying to make this sound like success? Jim Donnan took us there almost every year. I thought we wanted better.

Richt and Bobo took the easiest schedule in the history of UGA football and squandered it. The team was not prepared to play in September and lost two games it should have won.

It’s the coaching, stupid.

Trying to make the Outback Bowl sound impressive is just another propaganda line so that the incompetent and unemotional Richt and Bobo can together continue to pull down in excess of four million dollars a year.

For what? Almost any NCAA head coach or offensive coordinator could run circles around these two.

Same story. Around March we’ll be hearing how they might “take it all the way this year.” Yeah, right. Just like every year. Every year we have top ten recruiting. Why are we hardly ever in the top ten then?

Get used to Outback Bowls as long as Richt and Bobo are in control in Athens.

Pretty expensive way to sustain mediocrity…

How many of you actually believe that Richt will focus his team and drill them over the holidays so that they may be victorious in the Outback Bowl?

I have some swampland that you might be interested in.

Laissez faire is everywhere now in Athens. The boys deserve to enjoy the holidays after a successful season, right? WRONG! They blew an opportunity to be a top 5 team this year. The season isn’t over until January 2.

Richt and Bobo should finish the drill, but they won’t. We may or may not squeak past Michigan State.

If we lose to them, it will be because of the coaching. As usual…

The Academic All American list was released and only 1 player from UGA is on the list. Punter Drew Butler, majoring in Kinesiology……Whatever that is.

Meanwhile, Nebraska has 3 on that list.

I’d much rather be a Georgia Bulldog than a Nebraska Cornhusker. I don’t care how many all-Americans they have. UGA would still put a whuppin on Nebraska even with Richt and Bobo at the controls.

The Chick-Fil-A took a giant step backward this year by being forced to take Auburn-Virginia, two mediocre teams. For years this bowl had really moved forward. If this is what to expect in future, this bowl is headed to obscurity.

Alabama saw how UGA dominated the first half. I’m surprised Alabama isnt going to be a run away in this game. LSU has n o offense except special tems and defensive turnovers. UGA will dominate the SEC for the next 2 yrs bye bye Honies.

I just hope MR has the team ready to play for the bowl game. The LSU 2nd half meltdown was a waste of ga fans Money!!! There were plenty of dropped passes in the lsu game. Murray needs to have some extra drills with all the recievers. If the recievers catch the ball in the LSU game, the score would have been alot different. If MR does not punt to Matheu, the score would be different. Why can’t MR put together a complete game? The SEC east was given to ga this year. Ga needs to win the bowl game!!!

Snoop Dog; I am thinking the same thing. MR and company think the season is over as usual. I am sick and tired of MR taking off to much time for MR to be with his family. It was an OK season. We need to beat Michigan State to even say, this was a good season. MR is such a soft coach. THIS IS THE SEC!!!! ALABAMA AND LSU ARE TUFF SEC TEAMS. GA IS A PRIME EXAMPLE OF THE ACC
