Video: Loose, confident Georgia team ready to take on No. 1 LSU

Establish some semblance of a running game, throw the football, stop the run, win the turnover battle, stay loose. Those are the keys to Georgia being able to pull off an upset over No. 1-ranked LSU in the SEC Championship Game, as I tell CineSport’s Noah Coslov.

See look how easy it is. Enough of this silly “first” business.
Let’s face it, it’s just plain dumb.

We are here because we are Dawg fans.

Let’s start and keep the tradition of posting “Go Dawgs!” on the first few posts of the comments section.

The way CMR is answering questions about the RB situation leads me to believe that more bonehead mistakes have been made. If Crowell, Thomas, and/or Malcome have/has failed another drug test….send em’/him packing. No time for distractions like these. Especially now. The great thing about this game is that Georgia has nothing to lose. I see no one is calling for mark richts firing now after leading his bulldogs to a spectacular year. The only thing I regret about the bulldogs season is that its a shame that they didnt win their first 2 games instead of losing them. Why the bulldogs would have been in the mix for the national championship or would have been ranked high enough to be in the conversation. Now most richt fans will say, yeah he did it again, getting the bulldogs close to a title game but still came up short. I personally feel that mark richt is a championship coach and will eventually guide the bulldogs to the national title.

No, I’m not saying there are academic problems. I’m just speculating. It could be that Crowell simply doesn’t want to play. He’s already on record saying that he doesn’t want to risk an injury playing at “this level”. He’s concerned about jeopardizing his NFL career.

I “heard” that Crowell came out in non contact green for pratice which upset some people. TampaDawg

Dawg41, yes, I have seen them play a few times. But apparently the Dawgs haven’t been on your tv or part of your live game schedule this year. The defense has made a habit of giving up a touchdown in the first half, usually in the first quarter, but look at their second half stats. Especially the last 4 or 5 games. They are getting stronger as the game goes on. Offensively, they aren’t getting tired as a whole, they are just handing the ball off to not run up the score.

Kudos to mark rich’s coaching genius. From my recollection, this is the third time in rich’s tenure that the Bulldogs have had a powerful team on the cusp of NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP greatness. Unfortuately, this year we lost our first two games which ruined our chances for a national title. Had we won the first two games this season and our record was 12-0, we would probably be ranked 1st or 2nd in the nation and be on the verge of a national championship bowl invitation. The bulldogs were extremely close on two other occasions in Richts career, which makes me believe that after this year is over, Richt possibly could have won three national titles already, had he had any luck at all. Richt certainly has the credentials to to it and HE HAS BEEN THAT CLOSE. I just cant believe how the naysayers were calling for his head early on this season, on the heels of last years dismal season. It wasnt richts fault that we were playing short-handed. Well, I feel that Mark Richt will lead Georgia to the national title game in the very near future. Richt is an elite coach and in my opinion the fifth greatest college football coach ever, behind Paul “Bear” Bryant, Steve Spurrier, “Embattled” papa Joe Paterno and the great Bobby Bowdan, formerly of Florida State. RICHT IS SUPER AND WILL SOON JOIN VINCE DOOLEY AS CHAMPIONSHIP COACHING LEGENDS AT GEORGIA.

If you’re mediocre every year, and you hang around long enough, you’ll get lucky and have a somewhat impressive season from time to time. Even Kentucky and Ole Miss have had a few decent seasons over the past couple of decades. Lucking into a National Championship is a much more difficult proposition.

It wouldn’t really matter if Georgia had won the first two games – they’d still lose the next one. This is the first time that Mark Richt has won eight or more games in succession. Enjoy it for what it is. It’ll probably be a long time before it happens again. Mizzou will be here next year, so the SEC East won’t be quite so easy.

Missouri is going to make the SEC east tougher? They will be a whipping boy in the SEC just like the teams from Mississippi have been for ‘fer ever.

We’ve won 10 games this season and you think every aspect of our game is suspect? We have a top 5 defense and you think our tacking game is suspect? We have a quarterback with one of the best TD counts in the nation and you think our passing game is suspect?

Wow…

If winning 10 games in a row is easy and can be done with a “suspect” team, then why haven’t more schools done it this year? There are teams ranked in the top 10 that have lost games late in the season to teams they should have man-handled.

Geoux Tigers. You have to have a ‘real’ drug test / prevention policy to actually ever find out which players are smoking. We know UGA had a few because, Ga actually has a drug testing policy that punishes players. LSU, not so much.

If you look at UGA’s schedule you should be able to easily agree with Disoriented Dawg. UGA was supposed to win each of those games and they did. Nothing special about that but they do have a chance this Saturday to show what kind of team they are. Look at this game as a measuring stick to gauge how much UGA has really progressed over the past year. I’ve always been a fan of Fran Tarkenton but his negative comments about Richt at the beginning of the season are totally unwarranted! Fran wants to see the DAWGS win just as much as anyone else but in spite of his experience as a player, he didn’t allow for what it takes for a bunch of freshmen to begin to click together as a team. This team has grown up a whole lot thru the season and they will grow up even more next season. There are a lot of young players on the Georgia team and they have just begun to better as a team and the depth factor has come into play in a huge way as Richt had to put some of the younger players in sooner than he might have otherwise. But, that’s a good thing, it has improved the team considerable. Just look at the receivers and linebackers as examples! So, Fran, learn from this in spite of your experience and one of my all time favorite DAWGS and Vikings! GO DAWGS!!!!!!
