Bowl scenarios: It’s anywhere from Sugar Bowl to Chick-fil-A for Dogs

Where is Georgia going to play in a bowl game?

Excellent question, and one that’s impossible to answer at this point. Now if you couch it to ask, where might the Bulldogs go bowling?, we can give that one a go.

Much is going to depend on the outcome of today’s game between Georgia and Georgia Tech, and other rivalry games as well. Suffice it to say, a Bulldogs’ win — which would be their 10th in a row –  puts them in a very favorable position. However, a loss to the Jackets followed by another one to LSU makes Georgia a bit of a problem for the bowl bosses.

Regardless, Georgia should end up in one of these five bowl games:

  • Allstate Sugar Bowl, New Orleans, Jan. 3: The Bulldogs get here only if they beat LSU in the SEC Championship Game. They would be representing the league as SEC champion, then could hang around six days in New Orleans to catch LSU and/or Alabama play in the Allstate BCS National Championship Game on Jan. 9.
  • Capital One Bowl, Orlando, Jan. 2: The Cap One folks have a tough decision — take a 10-2, top-10-ranked Arkansas team or a Georgia team that will be coming off a loss in the SEC championship game. Go ahead and cross off this option if the Dogs lose to Georgia Tech. And even if Georgia beats the Jackets, it still might look like an easy choice for the Razorbacks based on record and ranking. However, economic factors such as travel and attendance make it less obvious. The majority of the fanbase being within easy driving distance could work in UGA’s favor.
  • Outback Bowl, Tampa, Jan. 2: This would seem the most likely destination if the Cap One passes on the SEC loser. But you never know what this volatile bowl selection group might do. They could decide to pick South Carolina on the argument the Gamecocks won head-to-head against Georgia, especially if they can beat Clemson. Auburn could enter the picture with a win over Alabama or Florida with a win over FSU.
  • AT&T Cotton Bowl, Dallas, Jan. 6: Expect a real tug-of-war between the Cotton Bowl and the Cap One for Arkansas. Dallas is a traditional destination for the former Southwest Conference-dwelling Hogs and their fans will certainly travel well there, especially not having been back since 2007. Then again, Georgia hasn’t played there since beating Texas 10-9 in 1984 and a lot of Bulldog fans have expressed interest in going back.
  • Chick-fil-A Bowl, Atlanta, Dec. 31: Lopsided losses to Tech and/or LSU could seriously jeopardize the Bulldogs cachet in the bowl hierarchy. But the SEC now has a “protection system” designed to keep the loser of the SEC title game from slipping too far. By contract, Commissioner Mike Slive can call on any of the non-BCS bowls in the SEC’s alliance and ask them to protect the SEC loser. It’s unlikely Slive would let Georgia slip past the Outback or Cotton. Nevertheless, Chick-fil-A Bowl President Gary Stokan told me himself he would protect Georgia from getting past them.

As you can see, the outcomes of today’s rivalry games will have a profound effect on the bowl scenario as we know it. So you might as well settle in and watch. By Saturday night, the picture should sharpen considerably.

No doubt LSU is outstanding. They should have to play the Packers in a bowl. I do think we have a better running game, defense, and a more mobile QB than ARK.

So I guess the Tigers will only beat us 34-20?

I never, ever pull for Auburn, but I damn sure am today. I want ESPN’s little rematch party going FUBAR today.

It all starts with Georgia’s defense. Nothing matters today except beating Tech. Beating Tech means our defense gets a real test, maybe the first one we’ve had.

That said, it is possible for UGA to defeat LSU. We won’t have a shot a beating LSU unless we have a good game against Tech. Too much of football is mental, and we have to have the mental component which will only come from not just beating Tech, but beating them with a good game.

If we’re going to beat LSU, we’re going to beat them first on defense.

Same with Tech. Defense is first in our strategy for both of our next two games.

Defense is our strong suit, so we have a chance, but we don’t really know yet just how good our defense really is. Gotta practice defense today, control Tech, and have defense tuned up for LSU.

The key question in the Arkansas/LSU game was whether the Arkansas defense could deal with the LSU offense. We knew LSU had a good enough defense, but did Arkansas? We now know the answer there.

Georgia’s defense is the question mark for both the Tech game, and the LSU game. If our defense is as good as it might be, we have a chance in both games, but it starts with our practice today at Grant Field.

Good defense against Tech leads to good defense against LSU leads to Sugar.

Tech is a major test for this Georgia team, especially our defense. We think our defense is good. Let’s find out.

Tech is the only bowl we have to be concerned about today.

Go, Bulldogs.

A couple of thoughts on LSU, since that is the topic for the bowl determination (if we lose to Tech, it isn’t going to matter as much): UGA’s D ranks very high, and Ark’s is down the list somewhat. Advantage UGA. Ark’s O ranks higher than UGA’s. Smaller advantage, Ark. I think Ark and UGA are pretty close, though. As we all know, anything can happen on any Saturday. This looks like the strongest LSU team I have ever seen, by a good margin, though. Their players have the NFL look about them. UGA has been improving and our O can be very powerful, so we will have to see. It is going to take a great game out of our Dawgs.

@ Frank,

That is exactly what happened to UGA in 2007. Not playing in the SEC CG allowed other teams to jump over us. That being said, Alabama is one of those programs that gets a lot of respect. Herbstreit and the ESPN talking heads are all in love with Saban and the Tide. And probably for good reason… The Tide is a very strong team this year. It will be interesting to see what the voters decide to do.

I couldn’t be more excited about the Dawgs vs. Jackets today! Tech will be tough as always, but I’m looking for Georgia to get it done on defense. One good thing: you haven’t heard a lot of talk from the UGA camp about playing LSU or what bowl they might get to go to. Seems we are focused squarely on Ga Tech. Let’s not let the Jackets ‘win the SEC east.’ We’ll never hear the end of it up here.

Nonsense. Georgia excluded themselves in 2007 by losing early to a 6-6 SC team and then being absolutely dismantled by Tennessee. Alabama hasn’t done that this year. They are the Number 2 team based upon their record. It has nothing to do with respect. It has everything to do with on-field performance. Always has…

Isn’t it true that SEC standings figure into what’s possible? You say Auburn or Florida could enter the picture for the Outback. Georgia’s 7-1 conference record should make it impossible for Florida (3-5) or Auburn (4-4 or 3-5) to jump ahead in the pecking order.

CHDawg

The problem for Alabama is that they lost their division and didn’t even participate in a conference championship game. On field performance just didn’t work out for them. The pollsters will bypass them for a conference champ unless something strange happens. i.e.- if Ok St. wins their conference and LSU wins they Ok St will jump back above Bama. That is how it should work, too.

Remember, Bama will be idle and Ok St. will keep winning big games. If either team loses, it would change obviously. The BCS doesn’t sit still when teams keep playing and OK St. will play if LSU if they both keep winning. They do have a point. Both one loss teams, but Ok St. will have won their conference. Bama has to hope they will lose to have a chance. Also, LSU losing to us could put them there, but that is tricky. If we beat LSU by a couple of TDs, how could you send an Alabama team that isn’t the Conference champ over the champ? Especially considering Bama was whipped by LSU at home. If Alabama loses to Auburn, then their fans would sound just as silly as did Georgia fans in 2007 arguing that they should be playing in the BCSCG.

Based on the BCS thinking in 2007 when LSU jumped from 5th over a 3rd ranked Ga. team to play in the national championship game because Ga. did not play in it’s conference championship game,Alabama should now be eliminated fom playing for the title. If the BCS makes an exception now they become even more bogus than they already are.

Tampa Gator,

your “what if’’s” give me a good idea. If the sugar falls from the sky, we will obviously need some of it to cook the gator tail we killed a few weeks ago. We have plenty of fat back already with Weiss, but the meat is pretty sour, with the Mushcamp added in .It should cook fast, but really well, for a holiday meal. You really have to watch when you are cooking it though, because it tends to deteriorate with just a little heat added to it. Then it starts to stink, after that.
We can season it nicely though, with just the tight amount of sour grapes from Florida fans since they are abundant this year. We also need to add that touch of envy coming from the swamp at UF..
Really nothing to it. We will just use the Seminole Indian recipe that I understand will be updated today starting about 7:00. They have to be careful not to over cook the gators. Too much fat and the plate is too heavy to PASS around.

Another scenario , Dawgs whip Tech, and by some Miracle they slip past LSU, win the Sugar Bowl against an undefeated Houston team. That would make this a great season ,especially after a 0-2 start. Now for some rain on the Dawg parade. Ole Miss hires Grantham as head coach and Penn State makes CMR a offer he can’t refuse ,to lead the Nittany Lions out of the darkness. So Dawg fans be careful about what you wish for.
Enough of fantasy time just go out today and beat Tech, and it will be a successful season no matter how the LSU game and bowl game turns out.

Mighty early in the morning for some folks to be hitting the bottle today. There are a lot of games to be played before we even know how it all ends. If Bama. and LSU don’t lose down the road, or look bad in a win, they will play for the crystal ball on Jan. 9th. The DAWGS have far exceeded the majority of folks predictions for them back in September. If you are a UGA fan you should just enjoy the success they have had and look forward to the next three games UGA will play. A bowl game of any type is a reward for UGA, where as for teams like Florida and Auburn, that are recipients of a bowl scene that allows half of the FBS teams to get into one.

Not really sure why everyone assumed that Arkansas was a legit #3 team. Saying that UGA is the 4th best team in the conference is a bit of a stretch. Ark’s blowout losses to bama and lsu, close call against a horrible ole miss team, should have lost to Vandy. I think UGA matches up nicely with Ark. I will take a good defense over good offense any day. Plus, UGA’s offense is better than Ark’s defense. A few facts about your UGA that you might consider:

1. UGA is the nation’s #1 party school. That means that UGA has the highest number of drunks on campus of all the colleges and universities in the U.S. These drunks keep the Athens-Clarke County jail full, and provide full employment to law enforcement personnel, bail bondsmen, and attorneys. Really something to be proud of, isn’t it.

2. UGA athletes are some of the most illiterate morons in the country. Most of them take remedial studies, which is the stuff that most kids learn by the seventh grade. But not your dummies, who you laughingly call student-athletes. The very few who actually graduate have worthless diplomas in worthless studies that no employer is looking for.

3. Even your fans are trashy, stupid drunks. Take a look at what your campus looks like after a home game, and check the number of DUIs the police issue between Athens and Atlanta after a game.

4. UGA athletes must think that ankle monitoring bracelets are bling, they see so many of them in the locker room.

A really miserable, sorry place, and a huge embarrassment to all Georgians.

But keep in mind there is NO way that the NCAA and the SEC will allow the Dawgs to beat LSU!! Do not forget a few years back when they wanted a LSU-Florida SEC championship game with all the bogus ref calls going against us in that game. Just watch the refs in the SEC Championship game…………if Georgia should win then it would destroy the BCS system. Who would play in the national title game?? LSU should not if they lost the SEC, but how could you not put them over Alabama head to head……..then the other conferences would scream bloody murder if its a one Loss each LSU-Alabama NC game!!

the only game UGA has lost is the Boise St game. Anyone who watched USC/GA game knows GA go tthe best of them, despite the score. Even the evil genius said as much, and that had to be a mouthful for him. more than a mouthful actually. Anybody who thinks UGA doesn’t have as much talent as anybody in the country hasn’t been watching football. OUr D backs can play as well as LSU’s, except for that pesky honeybadger (what an absolute nuisance he is). What the heck happended to C washington. he disappeared after his suspension and we need him. And especially Richard Samuels, who I credit with turning this season into what it is with his inspired running in the Florida game. I Crowell. Well, what a girl he is. Please don’t let him play in the SEC game. He’ll take himself out after at most 5 plays, the wimp. Now if we can stop LSU’s power running, and I think we can, we’ll take this thing to the house./ REFs and all

I believe this article is inaccurate…as the loser of the SEC championship game is garaunteed no worse than the Capital One Bowl. This I believe happened a couple of years ago when (i cant remember who…maybe TN of FLA) lost to the West Champ and fell all the way to the chik-fil-a or music city bowl as I recall, and the SEC commish vowed this would never happen again, and the Capital One bowl is obligated to take the winner of the title game, so they dont slide so far….Am i remembering this correct? I meant to say “loser of the title game” in the statement above sorry….

Someone please inform me if this is correct, as I think it was an 11-1 Sec East team that lost in the SEC championship game and fell out of New Years Day game completely…

Also, can someone explain the BCS hate for Georgia…I mean honestly we have WON 10 IN A ROW and cant move up to save our lives.. Oregon,Oklahoma, Kansas State, and South Carolina have ALL lost TWICE since the last UGA loss and yet they are still both ahead of us, really??? that is absurd. UGA should be the highest 10-2 team in the country, being ya know 10-0 in their last 10 games, and that loss to SC could have easily been a W without a few key turnovers, i mean we are literally 2 or 3 plays from being an 11-1 SEC team heading to face 12-0 LSU in the Title game and we aren’t in the top 10 even?? PLEASE somebody help me understand this, especially the four, 2-loss teams ahead of us, how is that even possible without some hate against UGA???

Georgia tek thumped from top 25.

31-17.

Paul Johnson, known for his irresponsible reckless statements, hit UGA fans in the face and get back to our jobs at Walmart as a retard, speciously has no clue as to who his Quarterback is.

Call a guy a college quarterback, and then send him out there for all us to see that his passes were 30 yards away from his receivers he was trying to throw to, including on 4th down.

As Tevin Washington, the # 60 Quarterback the same recruiting class as Aaron Murray went back to the sidelines away from our seats, you could see Paul Johnson looking at Tevin and asking him : What was that ?

I could not make out Tevin Washington’s reply, but he was motioning his arm about how he threw the football.

# 112 Passing Offense of Georgia tek. Are you kidding me that there are 8 worse passing teams in all of America ?

# 56 Scoring Defense playing the # 55 Strength of Schedule, there was never any doubt Georgia tek would lose for the 10th time in the 11 seasons of this Mark Richt.

# 106 in kick-off returns, # 64 in punt returns and # 64 in net punting, special teams were a total flop for Georgia tek to add fuel to this fire of not knowing whom their Quarterback is after the entire regular season is over for Georgia tek.

# 96 tackles for loss in the nation, Georgia tek could not stop UGA, again. It was a dominating performance of a characteristically typical underperformer. It sits stuck on 39 wins out of 119 years for Georgia tek in football against its only Rival, while of course, UGA’s Rivals are Florida, South Carolina, Auburn, LSU, Alabama, and Tennessee – in short real opponents.

I had forgotten how lousy Georgia tek’s engineering marvel of a stadium, named for a college drop-out, is. Like their basketball gymnasium with a former coach’s name on the court, whom they ran out of town on a rail, their football stadium engineering is just atrocious. Talk about depressed; I was able to keep focused that this is not our miserable stadium down in the glum of the slums. It makes you unhappy to walk in the dilapidated flat.

Alabama all but secures its spot in BCS national championship

No matter what happens next week in the Bedlam Series between No. 5 Oklahoma State and No. 12 Oklahoma, Alabama is almost guaranteed to find a spot in the BCS national title with their 42-14 win over Auburn in the Iron Bowl. Even if the Cowboys can finally knock off the Sooners next Saturday, it may not be enough to counter the crushing loss to Iowa State just two weeks before.

It doesnt’ matter if Oklahoma State really is the best, second-best or 50th-best team in the country. The computers loved them and they had a title shot square in their hands.

Since losing to LSU 9-6 earlier this month, Alabama has been as dominant as anybody in the country. If the “tied in regulation against LSU” argument wasn’t sufficient enough to push the Tide into the title game, surely beating Auburn in a huge rivalry game was.

The bigger question will be whether the Tide will be No. 1 or No. 2 when the title game rolls (see what we did there?) around. Top-ranked LSU is expected to beat No. 13 Georgia next week in the SEC title game, but in the event of an upset, the Tigers may have done enough over the course of the season to merit a spot in the title.

What I was hoping to learn from this article was: who might the dawgs play in a bowl game? Who might they play if they beat LSU? I really don’t care about the names of the bowls or the cities they’re in. If Georgia beats LSU next week, then (if you’re an optimist – and what else is a fan but that?) the best thing for them is to play the highest possible ranked team. If they beat #1 LSU, who might they play? That’s what I want to know. Because even though GA can’t win a national championship, what we’re playing for, at this point, aside from winning the last two games, is winding up with the highest possible rank. I wish this article had focused on possible opponents. Just the names of the bowls means little to me.

Before you acuse someone for intentionally injuring a player, you better review the facts and the replay. Some lunatic will think Tech intentionally injured that player and that is completely false!

Mark Richt has ALWAYS looked like this every season 11 years in a row now, when compared to the top football teams. He does not beat them. Mark Richt also has 17 games he has lost to teams who had he not lost to them, none of the 17 in the 11 years would have ended up ranked at all.

Georgia is a ranked team. We won while others ahead of us lost. We are exactly where I said we would be today, when I wrote all Summer. We will get a bye if we lose to LSU Saturday, and drop only a few places. We end this season ranked, therefore, something we have not accomplished the previous 2 seasons. Looks like LSU 1 and Alabama 2. That’s the way it ought to be, no matter what happens in the Georgia Dome in the SEC Championship Game between LSU and Georgia.

Don’t tell me Alabama didn’t win its division and won’t win its conference. You can’t invoke a rule that doesn’t exist, especially when there’s precedent for sending a team that didn’t win its league to the BCS finale. See Nebraska 2001 and Oklahoma 2003.

Neither played in a conference that owned five straight national titles. Neither played in a division that supplied the top three teams in the BCS rankings entering the last weekend in November. Oh, and neither played defense like Alabama.

How good was that defense in the Iron Bowl? It surrendered two first downs through the first three quarters. It outscored the Auburn offense 7-0 on the day thanks to Dee Milliner’s pick six. Dee who? Exactly. This defense has standouts some poll voters have never heard of.

Now hear this. Don’t tell me Alabama already had its chance against LSU. This is big-boy football, not Little League baseball, where everyone gets an at-bat during the game and a juice box afterward. You earn your spot in the final game by the way you play from the opening game to the final whistle.

Nobody has come close to beating LSU but Alabama. The Crimson Tide didn’t get it done, but they didn’t trail a single second of that game until the Tigers kicked the winning field goal in overtime.

When the Dawgs were in position a couple of years ago, the argument from all of the ESPN guys and everyone else, was they didn’t win their conference championship so they shouldn’t play for the NC. Bama’s not playing for the SECC and it’s amazing that the ESPN guys are now saying that even if LSU were to lose to Georgia, they should still play for the NC. Amazing how things change after just a couple of years. The Dawgs obviously have nothing to lose. I hope they play with reckless abandon and take it to the Tigers. Go Dawgs!

maddawg 913

The argument changes year to year. See Oklahoma 2006, UGA 2007, now Bama 2011. I could care less if they just stayed consistent. Can you or can’t you be considered for a NC without winning your conference??? I don’t think it’s a bias against UGA, why would they single out 1 certain university. I do think it’s all about the almighty dollar. What looks like the most interesting match up. On the flip side had we matched up with USC in 2007 like we should have; what kind of argument could that have brought?? So instead we played HI and USC played IL, much less contriversy in the end….good for the BCS.

If UGA was in the same situation as BAMA then I would want UGA to make it so that the SEC is guaranteed another BCS Championship.

It just sucks as a dawg fan to hear all the same people who justified LSU jumping UGA in ‘07 b/c they did not play in the SECCG, to say it shouldn’t matter about ‘bama or LSU. I never understood why in ‘07 UGA was ranked #3 and #’s 1 and 2 both lost how UGA could get jumped by a team that wasn’t even #4. Point being we need a playoff. This year odds are good the SEC could have 3 out of the last 4 teams. For your information….a PLAYOFF has already occurred and noone is paying any attention.

1) LSU BEAT ALABAMA
2) LSU BEAT ARKANSAS
3) NOW LSU MUST PLAY AND BEAT UGA TO CLAIM THE GOLD

Sorry, that’s how a playoff works. LSU and UGA put themselves in position to win the SEC by

‘quote from 2007′ “winning their games during the regular season. It doesn’t matter that Alabama is possibly the strongest team in the country, they didn’t win the division, much less the conference. How can they possiblty play for the national championship?” That was a quote by LOU HOLTZ in 2007…..only instead of ALABAMA the word was GEORGIA.

@BTG MIKE. Agreed. Great post. I’ve been saying this for a few weeks. Also, If UGA wins Saturday, isn’t it impossible for LSU, Bama, AND UGA to play in BCS bowl games? I thought there was a limit of two teams per conference in the BCS?

What about the Sugar – even if we lose to LSU?
Maybe I missed this discussion as I did not read all of the previous 6 pgs…

If we play LSU tough & lose a tight one…maybe 17-13, can we still go to the Sugar?
Are Michigan & Houston a lock?
I can see MI maybe but does anyone out there truly think Hstn is legit? Or at least legit enough to be in a BCS bowl..
They are not Boise or TCU from a couple yrs ago – not even close.
I know it’s a longshot but something the Sugar should think about, especially considering how well UGA fans travel vs Cougar fans.

Yes LSU is a very good team, but they can be beaten. UGA brings a great QB to this game as well as talented recievers. (Marlon Brown, Malcom Mitchell, Chris Conley and Orsen Charles) Our defense as been awesome this year and is number 2 in stopping the run which is LSU’s strong point. Georgia can win this game, and LSU will not blow them off of the map!

STEPHEN A. SMITH DAWG: Stop It !! UG didn't have "rugged" schedule delusional fans.

Only a delusional kool-aid drinker can say UG played tough competition in the “rugged” SEC. There is nothing “rugged” about the SEC East, UF and Tennessee are pathetically putrid, and UG lost to So.Carolina, who was the best team in the division. Further, there was nothing “rugged” about the putrid SEC West teams UG played. Ole Miss, Miss.St. and Auburn all were mediocre opponents this year. Put down the kool-aid jugs, sober up and tell the truth. LSU beat Bama and West Va on the road. LSU beat Oregon, and walloped Arkansas. LSU dominated mediocre teams and played a much more “rugged” schedule than our beloved UG Bulldogs so let’s keep it real and stop being delusional. The Tigers will rightfully be heavy favorites to defeat the Dawgs in the Dome, but kool-aiders rejoice at least Richt has won 10 games and apparently has salvaged his job for another season. Weak schedule or not he has met the 9 to 10 game goal. My prediction is unless UG shocks the World in the SECCG, the Dawgs will finish 10-3 and meet Clemson or Va. Tech in the Chick-Fila, Peach Bowl. If the Dawgs can beat Clemson or the Hokies, then at last they will have a decent signature win for the season. We still don’t know if Richt has what it takes to bring a National title to Georgia and despite this season. I still doubt he has what it takes and it will play itself out. But at least UG is not as bad as putrid UF, GT, Tennessee, and Auburn. LSU and Bama are what is left of the mighty SEC. So.Carolina,UG and Arkansas, take your pick, head the second tier of the SEC. Nuff Said !! Go Dawgs !!

No thanks. You can keep your stadium Jerry Jones.

here me out we dont know who’s really best unless they play head to head . this ranking goes only off peoples opinion. they need a reall system to seprate assumptions. just cause your ranked in the preseason(before any games are played) doesnt mean your the best.

STEPHEN A. SMITH DAWG: Stop It !! Bama doesn't deserve a 2nd shot at LSU !

November 27th, 2011

Does Bama deserve a second shot at LSU for all the marbles? The Tide had the Tigers in their back yard for the SEC West title and lost. If LSU beats UG it will be the SEC Champ, and I can’t see how Bama, without any title whatsoever, being worthy of getting a rematch with LSU for the crystal ball and national title. What about the other conference champions? Is the Tide superior to the other conference champs because it lost a close defensive struggle to LSU in the SEC ? I know the other BCS conference championship game are yet to be played. But a lot of people seem to think a LSU-Bama rematch is inevitable no matter what happens in the conference championship games. What about one loss Oklahoma St, one loss Va.Tech, and unbeaten Houston if they win out. Stanford is out there locked out the PAC12CG with conference one loss just like Bama. Computers and politics are ripping off college football for the money ! Some have even said LSU can lose to UG and STILL face Bama for the BCS national title. Something is definately wrong….can we please have a legitmate playoff to determine a legitmate national champion ? College football has been played over 140 years and Division I has had only illegitimate champions there has never been a true playoff to determine a true national champion. What a shame !! C-YA !!

UGA SOS #42
Bama SOS #39

Don’t tell Bama fans this. They beat up Georgia Southern, Kentucky State of Arkansas, Jacksonville College of Hawaii, and Coe College. 1 good win over Arkansas, who is the obvious choice for the most overrated team in CF. Shhhhh, they might get mad at you

If LSU looses to GA and then plays in the NC, which would be a JOKE, and beats BAMA AGAIN, then I guess GA is the NChampion. Green Bay was 10-6 last year, barely made the playoffs and won the SB. That’s the way it’s supposed to work but the BCS powers that be don’t care. It’s all about the almighty DOLLAR. It is like politics in respect to what the people want. The majority of the nation didn’t want nation health care but that didn’t matter to the POWERS that be. It’s the same with the BCS. The majority of fans want a playoff, other then LSU and Bama fans, but it doesn’t matter. Les Miles whined his way into the NC in ‘07 after losing his last game of the regular season. If some can do that why would they want a playoff.

I’ve never uderstood why the Peach bowl is looked down on. It always has great matchups. I’ve also never understood why those bozo’s at Chic Fil A dropped the “Peach” from the Peach bowl. That doesn’t help it’s prestigue.

TAMPA FLORIDA is a UGLY CITY. HAVE FUN !!!!!
————————————-
Oooook hot shot. I am not sure what you are comparing it to, but I have a feeling this has more to do with a team’s bowl selection versus the actual city. If it’s an ugly city, I would hate to have the NFL try to explain the amount of Super Bowls that have been here or the fact that Tampa is ALWAYS in the running for another one.

I love it .. here is a list, in order or when we had to listen to it, of the crap that was uttered by trolls, fair weather dawg fans, and people pretending to be dawg fans but were really trolls:

1. “CMR should be fired” .. not gonna happen, especially now
2. “Georgia will go 7-6 this year if they are lucky” .. in a GT fan’s dreams
3. “Can’t beat MSU again, can’t beat UT in Knoxville with Tyler Bray at QB” .. done
4. “Can’t beat the Gators” .. Whatever
5. “Aaron Murray can’t beat a team with a winning record” .. Florida when we played them had one, so did Auburn, so did Georgia Tech
6. “Aaron Murray can’t beat a ranked team” .. see the last two teams in number 3
7. Georgia has a weak schedule this year .. the unbiased S.O.S. rankings say otherwise but, who cares, they keep winning and no one breathes a word about Houston being in the top 10
8. “CPJ’s triple option will run over Grantham’s defense” .. they got their yards, but the location of the W is what counts
9. “Can’t beat LSU” … so here we are now. We shall see. LSU is a great team, but to give what will be a healthy Dawgs team no shot at winning that game is just wishful thinking. Any team with a great defense will always be in any game against any team.
10. “Your bowl game/city will suck” .. grasping at straws now trolls.

Why in the name of god would a UGA loss in the SECCG game make ga less attractive to the capital one when an LSU loss will not diminish their’s or BAMA’s selection to the NCG for crying out loud. Loses only seen to matter when they are convenient to whom ever is making the arguement at the time.
