Video: Georgia finally puts together complete game

My video report from Sanford Stadium after Georgia’s 45-7 win over Auburn. The Bulldogs improved to 8-2, 6-1 SEC. The defending national champion Tigers fell to 6-4, 4-3.

I just have to laugh at the UGA people. On what planet are you guys from? There is no rational reason why you will win this game. The only reason the spread is so high is because Vegas knows if it was any lower no one would pick Auburn, because we live in a nation of idiots who think home field advantage is so important. Vegas likes the bets to be about right in the middle so they don’t lose their butts either way. All logic says Auburn wins. UGA has lost to the best two teams they played. Their wins are against no joke the five worst SEC teams (VY, TENN, FL, MISS, MISS ST) and two patsies. They lost at home to SC, a team Auburn beat on the road, and other common opponents favor Auburn as well. You could argue that Auburn beat Ole Miss and FL better than UGA did, and the Miss State game was about even. Auburn also has been more battle tested. After playing LSU and ARK playing UGA will be like a game against Ole Miss for Auburn. Hitting UGA will be like a practice. Auburn is going to win this game straight up. 26-17. And lay off the redneck remarks people. You likely live in Georgia, quite possibly just as bad. I mean get real, you intentionally spell dogs like DAWGS to give it a nice southern twang and your fans bark at people.

Proud of the DAWGS. They did it with class (and a little excessive celebration). Goes a long way toward “squaring” things with Auburn after all the “chest thumbing” and dirty play they did last year. Proud of the coaching staff as well. Crowell may be growing up. The rbs did a great job. Makes a different when you have good blocking by the OL and great defense.

I tried to tell everone that after one qtr Aubrun would be in the tank. I knew they would come out and try to make a statement. I said “IC” would be 100 + and coach “TG” of the “D” would hold a clinic. I miss on “Murray” 300 + passing. I still think he would have made it but coach “MR”took the air force out and put the army in. Great win.

Best game they have played in years – no flat spots. They have been ready to play each and every game – even the two they lost. This is a young team that has finally gotten over the hump. Looking back, the best thing that ever happened to this program was to jettison the bad attitudes, prima donnas and self centered losers that either left or were kicked off of the team. These young guys are hungry, excited about their opportunity and willing to be team players. Like Richt has always said,’We’re looking for guys who want to do it the Georgia way”. Where are the naysayers now? BRUHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! This team has been growing up before our eyes all year. When you see the youth and talent on this squad you have to be impressed – especialy at receiver. And how about those RB’s? The little guys were whooping butt! And Crowell is STARTING to look like an SEC back! Good for him! GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO Dawgs! Sic ‘Em!

All the comments from Auburn coaches and players is how bad they played. Hey Auburn, how about the simple fact that Georgia just ran over you. Use whatever excuses you want but Georgia dominated every single facet of that game just proving Auburn was a one trick pony last year and as everyone predicted once he was gone you would return to second tier status in the SEC. I have to admit that I was wrong about Richt and the direction of the program. I had never seen an example of a coach at a major program being on a hot seat like Richt was, starting out 0-2 against teams we could have beaten and keeping the team together and turning it around. Certainly, have FL and TN be historically bad teams this year and having a weak schedule after the first 2 was helpful, but Richt deserves an awful lot of credit for keeping the team together and improving their play as the season has gone along.

Most complete game by the Dawgs and really the first one since 2007 (ironically also an Auburn game.) Offense, defense, and special teams were exceptional. Kickoff coverage was just about perfect an incredible turn around in jus six days since the Florida game. Defense was dominant and the offensive line was CRUSHING Auburn to the point where their players quit about midway through the 3rd quarter. The new strength and conditioning program appears to be working. Georgia was the MUCH stronger team. Just imposed our will.

One complaint. When we had the game in hand in the 2nd half and we were just running the clock out with 20 minutes to go in the game (no problem with that part)…. why not put in more subs on the offensive line and Hudson Mason? If Murray isn’t going to throw another pass, why risk an injury to him OR the paper thin offensive line. The backup lineman didn’t get into the game until VERY late, like maybe 3 or 4 minutes to go. Would love to have seen Watts Dantzler and David Andrews play a meaningful series in the 3rd quarter with 3 OL starters and Mason running the offense. We really need to to develop some depth that we can trust at QB and of course, Andrews and Dantzler may be depended on next year to START. They need some reps!

While Auburn isn’t a top 10 team… it shows that UGA can destroy a good SEC team when it plays up to their potential.

Was trying to say that I have never seen a coach at a major program start 0-2 after being on the hot seat and rise to overcome it. The odds of doing that are very thin indeed. Once things start to fall apart, as they were in 08, the debacle of 09 and the 0-2 start, I thought that no coach could overcome that negative momentum. He proved me wrong and I’m glad he did.

NEWSFLASH, NEWSFLASH,

A man now identified as Dave Cutler, has been arrested trying to toilet paper the telephone pole on the Auburn Campus. He was mumbling “Wake me up, Wake me up, I can’t stop dreaming that Auburn just got buried by UGA in Athens”. It is worthy to note, he was not violent and quickly went to his knees when ordered to get down, but had to be restrained when he grabbed the patrol officer while in said position. One is left to assume why he did that. He has been transferred to the Mental hospital at Chattanooga, to avoid being in proximity of either the Auburn or UGA campus, until he either comes down from the drugs he has been taking all year, or his mommy signs him out. It is not known if he will recover from his Auburnitis but possibly keeping him on the same drugs he was on prior to November 13, 2011, may be his only hope. It is believed though, that his fetish for toilet paper can be controlled through medication. This report comes from, a Dr. Harvey Updyke, a well know and highly educated doctor registered in Alabama.

It is indeed sad to see so many UGA fans exit the stadium early yesterday; many just as the 4th quarter got underway. Why people will pay an average of $40.00 per ticket, with many driving a fair distance over to Athens, talk of how much they want to attend these games, push and sometimes shove other fans to enter the gates and then well before the “show” concludes, simply walk out early. Why? Just for the sake of beating some traffic or to get back to intoxicating themselves with more alcohol? Or is it they just don’t care how it might be perceived by the players and coaches who work extremely hard and long hours to put on an outstanding “production” as the one yesterday against Auburn? What is so difficult remaining a few more minutes to the game’s conclusion??

The other reason for the turn around is Kasay and Tereskinski. We seem to be getting stronger after 9 games this year where last year we couldn’t compete with anybody in the 3rd and 4th quarter because we were so weak by the time we played the 9th game.

The Bulldogs certainly looked good against Auburn. Good, I think, even if Auburn wasn’t very good.

The Georgia squad made a many good, showcase plays, and had a complete team effort besides. There weren’t many mistakes, and even Bobo did a much better job.

Impressive? Yes, indeed.

Let’s not be too quick though to anoint Mark Richt.

Winning this year’s SEC East won’t make our Georgia Bulldogs the dominant, nationally competitive team many of us would like to see Georgia become. To do that we have to be a team which starts the season (relatively) strong. That will take some real coaching!

Not to say that Mr. Richt has not demonstrated some real coaching capacity, because he has. Under the gun, he has come through, at least relative to some recent years. There’s been a lot of improvement, and he deserves a good portion of credit.

That credit should be balanced with acknowledgment of his responsibility for the failures under his coaching tenure, too, last season being a prime example. If he had done as well early on, as he has in the last couple of games, we might very well be at the top of the heap, instead of maybe fixing to win the weak East.

Maybe Mark Richt needs to be under the gun. If so, let’s keep him in that position, as our team is now performing very well.

I’d love to see us beat LSU, or maybe Arkansas, or Alabama, and I think it a distinct possibility, but we’ve got to dominate Kentucky first. Then there are the NATS bugs in bad need of a whipping, good practice to make ourselves ready for the SEC Championship.

Okay, Coach Richt, let’s see if you can pull it off!

Go, Georgia Bulldogs!

Good lord that was a beatdown of a ranked team that has won more in our stadium versus us than we have versus them.

They were confident with their QB just having thrown 4 TD’s in a game and their running game has been off the chart.

Murray is one of the toughest QB’s I’ve seen. Last year, Fairley cut Murrays chin with his facemask, speared him in the back with his helmet, and then tried to break his leg with his helmet. If you doubt this, see: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JGB1xguTXLg And did you see the hit this year, where Murray was flipped? In spite of all this, Murray played one heck of a game! Congrats to Murray, Richt, Grantham, and the entire UGA team for the best game I’ve seen in tha last 3 years.

Then it was “Georgia can’t beat Florida”, did that. Then “Murray can’t beat a ranked team”, did that too. UGA held Michael Dyer and Onterio McCalebb to under 80 yards COMBINED! So they can keep hatin’ and CMR will keep winning and I will keep smiling and laughing at the football ignorant.

We are not supposed to hold Mark Richt accountable for the schedule that has seen, for example, Auburn Florida and Tennessee have not lost 16 games combined in any season of the last 30 years, and stand at 15 today before Auburn loses to Alabama ?

He can only play the schedule he has.

But, we are to GIVE Mark Richt a RAISE and a CONTRACT EXTENSION based upon these worst teams in 31 years he is beating ?

Wholly preposterous.

So your mind is already made up that no matter what UGA and Richt does, he should be fired, and we should do that in the middle of the season? We should disregard all the positives, which include a very, very, good recruiting class last year, making changes to the coaching staff, such as hiring Grantham, and replacing the strength coach, and winning 8 games in a row? What if UGA wins out, would it take a victory over LSU, or whoever the West champion is, to change your mind? Would even a close competive, well played, game do it, or maybe a solid bowl performance? Do you really feel like there are no positives to build on, or have you just basically given up? What about Auburn? Last year they won the NC, but since they got drummed this past weekend, should their coach be replaced? After all, Chizik’s overall record as a head coach is 33-28. Richt’s record is 104-36. You do the math.

Thomas Brown I herby nominate you as the absolute winner of the inagural A$$HOLE AWARD. You have some of the most disturbed ideas of ANY sports fan period! You are delusional at best. You really need to get your head in for xray. There has to be a huge chunk of lead in that melon you fathom to call a brain. Worst display of sportsmanship on any level. Do yu like to hunt? Call Dick Cheney and ask him to take you. He knows a really great spot!

No, Richt contract extention will not, nor should be, tied to any particular game/opponent. That’s never how any AD operates in the simplistic form. The only relavance that those particular wins have is that they factor in the almost certainty that he will be retained as Head Football Coach at the University of Georgia. So in keeping with the realities of the sport these days, he must operate with a long term contract to recruit and run the program going forward and his salary should be competitve with the going rates for an SEC HC.

You are welcome.

Keep in mind, this is the only game against a good team, where Georgia played well in all 3 phases. And the punt game stunk again. But offense and defense shined against a #24 ranked team, not big competition, but a solid win. Like to see how UGA measures up against LSU.

It takes Penn State to take the heat off the UGA program and it’s problems.
