Transcript, provided by UGA, of comments from coaches and players after Georgia’s 45-7 victory over Auburn:
GEORGIA
Coach Mark Richt:
“We just played great. I’m trying to think of another game where we played this well in a situation that was so important to us. We knew South Carolina won its game, so we had to win. We played a top-25 team, a very good football team, and we played solid. I am as proud as I can be of our coaches and players. It’s a great night to be a Georgia Bulldog. … We had tremendous execution. I know we haven’t done that for an entire game like we did tonight.”
“We finished well. We had a lot of first downs when we decided to run the ball and chew up the clock. First downs like that are a tribute to the offensive line, but it also takes the fullbacks and the tight ends, everybody. To have two guys go over 100 yards is a tribute to everyone.”
“I thought the most impressive play of the game was when Quintavious Harrow had that knock-’em-back, get-everybody-in-the-stadium-excited tackle. That ignited our football team.”
“Our fans had a lot to do with our success definitely. They created so much noise. When you see a quarterback walk to every player on the team, you know it’s loud. It slows them down, and it creates a little confusion for them.”
“(After this season’s 0-2 start), I was really hoping we’d continue to improve as the season rolled along. The guys are gaining more confidence and they’re playing hard and they’re playing smart. … After each snap, we want our guys to play hard and play physical. We want each guy to win his 1-on-1 battle. We challenged each guy to win down after down.”
Quarterback Aaron Murray:
“It’s a great win for us. We got off to an 0-2 start, and sometimes the offense was playing great and sometimes the defense was playing great. It seems like it all kind of just clicked for everyone today.”
“All three facets of the game played great. The defense was making it impossible for them, special teams played great and the offense was clicking. It all starts with the offensive line giving me time and opening up huge holes.”
Tailback Carlton Thomas:
“We’ve been working hard. All the coaches and players have been behind each other, and it’s an awesome feeling to come out and do what we did. Everyone was playing tough.”
“Obviously, I got a lot of carries and I was just trying to make them the best carries of my life and make the best of the opportunity.”
“We’ve got great depth and it’s all starting to show late in the season. We’ve just got to keep working. I’m really excited to see where we’ll end up in January.”
Safety Bacarri Rambo:
(On his interception return for a touchdown:) “I saw Abry (Jones) waving for me to come that way, so I did, and those guys just helped me into the end zone. We played great today. It’s a great day to be a Bulldog.”
Linebacker Alec Ogletree:
“Offense, defense, special teams, everyone played great today and it showed. We wanted to come out and play a full game together and that’s what we did. We just worked hard all week and it paid off today in the game.”
AUBURN
Coach Gene Chizik:
“There isn’t a whole lot I can tell you that you didn’t see. It was a disappointing loss for us. We got beat at every phase of the game tonight. We didn’t cover many people all night, couldn’t stop the run and turned the ball over. That’s why we got beat 45-7.”
“Georgia made some good plays and is a very talented team. With the exception of the first drive, they flat out stopped our offense. We couldn’t get some of the perimeter pass game under control. It was pretty evident what we couldn’t do.”
“Hopefully we can fix some of the things that happened. Week in and week out, we look at what the defense gives us and design our game from there. Georgia is tough to defend. Murray threw tonight with great accuracy, which he has been doing all year. We just didn’t do a good job defending the perimeter pass.”
“We’re playing with guys who have the most experience for the last 10 weeks. Tonight, the outward appearance was that we got physically dominated on both sides of the ball. Maybe when we watch film, we will find something different.”
Quarterback Clint Moseley:
“I really can’t put a finger on it. I messed up too much, and this was a big team loss. They got too many yards, and we didn’t get any. It was bad.”
(Comparing LSU and UGA): “Both teams know how to play defense. I don’t want to cause anything by making a prediction, but it will be a great game.”
“I really thought this was the best week of practice that we’ve had all season. We are a young team but that doesn’t make it any better.”
Wide receiver Emory Blake:
“Next week we need to go back to work, watch film and fix our mistakes.”
“I’m a little shocked. I thought we were prepared. We made too many mistakes. They are a good team, but we played poorly.”
Linebacker Corey Lemonier:
“They had a good game plan and came out and executed, and we missed out assignments. They dominated us. We’ll come back next week and try to prove something.”

I think the reason why it looks like bobo called a great game yesterday is because of the O- line blocking and over the past few games, Murray has not been running around for his life.
You can see that coach friend is really doing a great job with the O – Line and makes it easy to call a game with good blocking up front.

think about this richtlovers…LSU is in line for it’s third national championship since 2003!!!…and you are giddy about beating bad auburn and florida teams??…exactly when were cmr’s glory years in athens? the handfull of years he beat florida? tennessee? an sec title year? the 2005 uga sec champions are the last sec champs not to play for the nat championship…the 2002 team?? donnan’s kids…11 years, no crystal footballs…nothing else matters…

Nope I disagree re watch this game and the boise game
what have I complained about with the running game?
Why arent we running in the I-Formation with the biggest FB in college football lead blocking
what were 95% of the runs yesterday, I-Formation, what was the result.
Why did it take all this time when to start doing it with consistancy when it was working evertime they called the I this year

should Georgia get to the SEC title game, LSU will probably be a nine point favorite but, this Georgia team will be very dangerous. Georgia also has speed and are big and fast on defense…should be a great game.

@ sports…Miles and LSU are accustomed to playing in big games and win the majority of them…richt and uga rarely play in big games with national implications…close until the coin toss…LSu ain’t coastal carolina or beat up florida or auburn…LSu is why those two were beat up for uga to feast upon…

@ flat our O- line pushed auburn off the line no matter what formation we lined up in! Compaire the sacks to this game and the Boise game, caroina game as well. Same as on the D – line you win in the trenches!

our O-line blocks better when your not running the same plays like Boise
Draw play up the middle
Sideline pass
80% of those 2 calls were called in that game so Boise loaded the box
What happened when we changed it up with Boykin a TD then it went back to conservatism
No crossing pass paterns were thrown until the game was out of reach and we shredded them
Im telling you go back and watch the Boise game then the Auburn game
Go back and watch the 2007 Tenn game then watch the FL game that year.
Go back and watch the 2005 SEC championship game then the Sugar Bowl game against WVU
Its a pattern here that I get sick of and thats my problem

I already told you my answer
The O Line has improved tremendously! That makes play calling easy when you knock the other guys off the ball! Even when auburn put 8 men in the box they could not stop us we only threw the ball 2 times in the second half! Boise game they got pressure and did not half to blitz makes play calling harder!

You people dont want to answer the question because your TARDS no full well
Had this team been prepared and better play calling had taken place we would be undefeated right now.
But you people want to smoke your bongs and not come to reality at what this program could be if we had a Meyer/Saban/Miles mindset and an attention to detail

When Saban and Miles get their winning % up to Coach Richt’s then talk about how great their coaching records. 105-36 best winning % in SEC coaches and #9 in nation of active coaches.
LSu no senior starting on offense or defense, and Bama 15 seniors starting. See the Dawgs playing LSU for next few years for SEC crown.
Another great game by defense and Coach Bobo continues to be be better every week.

Wow, this is just nasty. I don’t know if anyone noticed but we are(barring a freakish accident) going to the SECTG. Y’all need to calm down. I almost threw a remote through a very expensive tv once when Georgia lost, but good Lord in heaven, this Crap is why EVERYBODY hates Dawg fans. We have a non-cheating good man for a coach who has given us two SEC titles in ten years and is now playing for a fourth. Anyone know how long it took Dooley to get his first national title? Sixteen years… Calm the Hell down.

Flat TIre, scheduling Boise for the first game was the problem. Should have been an easy opponent first to test everything out. What if Holyfield scheduled Tyson for his first professional bout ? Wouldn’t it be better to get some wins first to build some confidence before facing Tyson ? By the way, LSU won the MNC a few years ago with two early losses. If you were a LSU fan, you would have been calling for Miles to be fired. Teams can and do improve over the course of a season, and some peak when it matters most ( ever heard of the St Louis Cardinals ?) you freakin moron !
