Aron White has become somewhat of an Internet sensation.

Video of the senior tight end from Columbia, Mo., getting stuck in Georgia’s famous hedges has been making its way around the world wide web since the Bulldogs’ 63-16 win over New Mexico State Saturday. White dove head first into the Chinese privet hedge row after leaping a marimba following a touchdown catch in the east end zone. He had to be extricated by teammates before he could celebrate his second touchdown of the season.

I spoke with White about the chain of events in the locker room following the game and took a picture of him clutching a piece of the assaulting hedge, which I’ve included here. Scroll down to see video footage of the play.

Here’s what White said about it after the game:

“I’m a little bit of a character so people thought I was playing. They said, ‘Man, you did that on purpose.’ But I didn’t. I couldn’t get up. My teammates got to the hedges and they were yelling at me. ‘Come, on, come on!’ I was saying, ‘I can’t. Help me, pull me, do something!’ When they finally did yank me out of there, it tore a big hole in the back of my jersey. They didn’t believe me ’til I showed them my shirt. That gave me a little credibility. But God, man, it felt so good to score in Sanford Stadium. To be right in front of the student section and to pop up like that and it go from almost dead silence to everybody cheering and roaring and everything, it felt really good.”

THe red pants look great with the white jerseys. I don’t think we have worn them since my junior year at clemson, 1985.

I think they needed to clear it with Peterson first.

I hope it’s not true. We’re playing for the right to go to the Dome. Shouldn’t need a gimmick to get the players up for this one.

0-3, and 100+ points allowed in our last 3 uniform-change-games . . .

@Still@theKool-aidBAR .. First, I think that by saying the SEC East is the worst in the last 15 years is discounting the fact that a 5 loss team won it last year. Second, you STILL can’t compare the two. Hard to say that CPJ had less talent than his competition at GaSo. And at GT, he is still in the ACC and even then, it isn’t like GT was wallowing in the basement of the ACC standings. Plus, CPJ’s first contract with GT was worth more than CMR’s first with UGA.

It’s great… to be… a Georgia Bulldog! I don’t see how Auburn wins with their QB making his third start ever against our QB-eating D. And we will have all of our weapons locked and loaded. But we will need to be serious, remembering the way AU behaved last year, focused, and ready to TCB.

@BayouDawg- Having lived here in Baton Rouge the past 30 years, I will say that Nick Saban is the only coach LSU will ever have who cares as much about winning as the LSU fans. Nick seems depressed even when he wins an NC.

@TampaDawg i don’t know how you can say a 5 loss team won the SEC East last year. That would be IMPOSSIBLE. A 3 loss team won the SEC EAST last year. This year again a 3 loss team could win it, maybe UGA will just have 2 losses but I am hpoing TECH will beat the Dawgs as i guess you know.LOL

In Conference Overall
#22 South Carolina x 5 – 3 9 – 5

That is a five loss team.

Last years East division had 4 sub .500 teams. This year, that’s not going to happen. Not even by a long shot and thats with Florida having one of the most brutal schedules in history.

TampaDAWG……..now that is fun MATH. USC was a 3 loss EAST Champ. USC then lost to Auburn in the Championship Game(4) and to FSU in the Bowl game(5).
USC lost 3 games to BECOME the SEC least CHAMP.
You are counting losses AFTER USC was the EAST CHAMP.

Still@theKool-aidBAR

November 7th, 2011
2:49 pm

Does that explain the point that USC was not a 5 loss SEC east Champ.

TampaDawg

November 7th, 2011

Why does that matter? You never said anything about how they won the east. I just said the East Champ had 5 losses. FACT, they did have 5 losses. And I pointed out their conference 3 loss record as well. But as a whole, there were 2 five loss teams at the top of the heap, and 4 sub .500 teams after that. Will that happen this year? No.

TampaDawg

THEY STILL LOST 5 GAMES LAST YEAR! That’s the only point I am making. The team at the top finished the season with 5 losses. The “next best team” also had 5 losses. It doesn’t matter when they had them when you are looking at a conferences entire body of work.

Still@theKool-aidBAR

OK we are not arguing the lil numbers. The EAST last year had a BETTER top team than this year. IMO then. The EAST has not been this weak COLLECTIVELY CONSECUTIVELY then in the last 15 years. Does it change the basic premise of the argument?

Are you attending the Auburn game? be nice if you go to the Auburn fans. The players are the ones that are supposed to be mean and physical.

Timeout Georgia

November 7th, 2011
3:32 pm

UGA was leading 42-3 with less than a minute left in the first half. New Mexico State sends the punt team out there and thinks they are seconds away from getting in the locker room. But wait! UGA calls a timeout so they could have time to score again before halftime. So not necessary, even if UGA did pay that school a small fortune.

SOOOO, right back to my question, how did they “fail” if the results were not tied to them, and the would not have differed had they not occured? My personal opinion is that we simply played worse than the other guys.

Lot’s of things are done in the cource of a football season that have no other purpose except to prepare and motivate, that also occured the week of some losses. Doesn’t mean they shouldnt ever do it again.

For the Dawgs getting sucked into the dissing contests about Tech and other teams, I wouldn’t. Tech is doing quite well, and will be a tough opponent, and CPJ is a very innovative OC. Look at Tech’s run stats, and overall stats the last few years.

Coach Richt is best

Yeah they’ve never had any suspensions at Georgia under Coach Richt. He’s a christian. He beats everybody. Just look at this year. He’s won every game the last 7 weeks. His players are all young. His coaching staff is better than every other staff. He will beat Auburn. Auburn is just great. His recruits are the dream team; does anything else need to be said on that? He will beat Lsu. He beats bama too. Arkansas, please. Does Georgia really want to go back to the goof years? I don’t think so. Coach Richt will be here forever. President Adams hired Coach Richt. He also fired Donnan. Next year Georgia wins the national champ. It will be great. Coach Richt is not selling his homes. He is going to donate all that money to his church. He has adopted children from not wealthy countries. Coach Richt is the best. The recruits are lined up. He has 8 strings of running backs. He chose Aaron Murray and Aaron is the best quarterback in the SEC. Aaron Murray has won all these games this year. Last year is over. It was just 1 bad year. This year is certainly the best ever. They beat Ky and Gt. I don’t see any problems. They might even win the national champ this year. You don’t know. I don’t want Satan. Satan lost Saturday. Coach Richt won Saturday. I would rather have Coach Richt than Satan. Les Miles is a fool. Paul Johnson got lucky 1 year. 1 out of 11 years after Coach Richt beat them again soon. Coach Richt will win the bowl game like he always does. Coach Richt has been hiding how good his team is this year. What he has 7 wins now? Auburn, Ky, Gt. That is 10. Beat Lsu. That is 11. Beat BCS bowl team. That is 12 wins. Mark it down.
