Auburn-Georgia set for 3:30 p.m. kickoff

CBS will televise the Auburn at Georgia football game this Saturday at 3:30 p.m. at Sanford Stadium.

This will be Georgia’s second CBS appearance this season and 66th in school history, joining the Bulldogs’ victory against Florida two weeks ago.

Although Auburn (6-3) is coming off a victory against Ole Miss, the Tigers have been inconsistent, alternating wins and losses in five consecutive games. The Tigers have lost on the road to Clemson, Arkansas and LSU but defeated South Carolina by a field goal.

Georgia (7-2)  has won seven in a row after dropping its first two games of the season. The Bulldogs control their destiny in the SEC East, needing victories at home against Auburn and Kentucky to clinch a berth in the SEC title game in the Georgia Dome on Dec. 3.

The Game Plan - UGA: 2011 SEC Champs

November 7th, 2011
2:56 am

Defense Wins Championships:

But LSU and AUB offense really sucks. Niether should be able to run or throw much on UGA. UGA’s defense is faster than either offense and can be more physical. (It is great to see that Junkyard Dawg Defense is back. Jones-Jenkins-Boykin-Smith-Ogletree-Rambo and several others are next level -just as good as LSU.)

Auburn will eventually fizzle and we should win: 34 – 14.

However, LSU’s defense really is also great. But the UGA offensive line is big/good enough to handle them and both UGA FBs are blocking machines. Crowell should have just enough room to keep them honest, but rushing yards will be tough to come by though. Also – We don’t need to challenge those LSU corners much.

UGA’s edge – Our Top Tier Tight Ends (Charles- White) and Murray” We can eat beat them down – 6 yards at a time – across the middle and once they pull those safeties in -THEN BOOM: Over the top to TK and Mitchell.

Practice That against Auburn and perfect it against LSU.

Our kickers will come through – Last week’s (NMST) game was just what they needed. But God Bless our kick and punt coverage teams They improved some this weekend, but maybe we should just kick/punt out of bounds. Yall know I am the BIGGEST UGA Fan, but I fear that area may haunt and hurt us (against LSU).

However, ever the optomistic, I’m still picking UGA over LSU: 24-20.

UGA – 2011 SEC Champions Once Again!!

Some maybe but certainly not all Dawg fans that want to see Richt replaced actually hate him. Dislike him or dissappointed in his coaching and hanging on to an inept offensive coordinator like Bobo are reasons to want him replaced but not hate him. His mind is on other things not coaching, discipline and leadership.

Question for those who want Coach Richt fired. Who could we get that would be better. Looking back at the records of some of the very best coaches stretches like we have had the last few seasons seem to be a common thread. If we win out we should be OK if we play LSU. Richt has a good record against Coach Miles. This would be a tremendous turn around. I am not saying this will happen but it could. Just look at what Northwestern did to Nebraska last weekend. Anything can happen in college football.
Coach Richt seems to.be building a solid core of players for the next few years. I say let this play out. For all of you who think we are not going in the right direction give me someone who might be better and be specific with facts.

I hate the fact that Auburn had the week off. They will be the toughest SEC we have played this year to date. If our defense can get off to a great start because they will be pumped and trying all kinds of new plays to jump ahead. Stop them and knock the wind out of them.
Murray needs to watch the INT’s and our running game needs to run for close to a minimum of 200 yards.
This game will be about ball control.
Pull out the old “Silver Britches” for this game
Go Dawgs!

Ga fans’ opinion LSU is a worse team than Boise State, 35 points on dogs, and SC, 45 points on dogs. I know Ga’s special teams gave up points in SC game, but did their performance in the FLA game really show improvement? Do you really think that? Do you? I know any thing can happen but please don’t come on here and try to pretend that GA’s team is better than LSU.

What gets me with all the Richt haters on here, granted most of them are from other teams pretending to be UGA fans, is that after an 0-2 start it takes some serious coaching, regardless of how easy the schedule is, to keep a team focused to put together 7 straight wins. Some of y’all need to open your eyes up to that.
I admit, we are a long way from being in the same caliber as Bama & LSU, but I like what I’m seeing over last years team. There has been much improvement. CMR did not fumble and throw those interceptions during the SC game this year. As for BSU, they were just a better team and I tip my hat to them. They are not #5 for nothing.

@So In

I have to agree, to think that the Dawgs are better than LSU this year is a huge stretch. As for improvement in the UF game I have to say yes there was, because last year we would have lost that game.
Hey, we are average at best this year, but moving in the right direction to be better than average and possibly elite in the SEC starting next year. (Please keep in mind I said possibly)

@DIT

don’t get me wrong, on any given day and all that, but special teams must improve, Crowell must get stronger and MATURE, then with some additions I think GA will have a much better team next year, at least they should. Also, better focus on Auburn this week, you know they would love to knock GA out of the SEC Championship game (if Fla loses to SC)

Auburn’s vastly superior coaching staff wins this one with defense and a varied running attack that Georgia can’t stop. The week off means they’ll be healthy and UGA will be overconfident after pushing around an inferior opponent. Should be a good game for the Tigers. I like Chizik and Malzhan’s chances with an extra week to prepare. Richt is not a very good coach, though he has as much talent as any team in the SEC.

@ Hairy Dawg….what are you? Like 12? Give up the firehose story already. I was THERE at that game in the mid 80’s when Auburn turned the water hose on the Georgia fans. Know why why? Georgia beat Auburn in our own stadium, the Georgia fans jumped the fence, ran to the middle of the football field, dropped to their hands knees and began pulling up and destroying the turf as fast as they could. Act like animals, you’ll get treated like animals. If you’re going to bring up history, you sure as hell better know your facts. Some of us have been around a looooooong time and will call you on these urban myths that are peppered with misinformation and mistruths with each new generation who THINK they know the story!

Georgia should be playing for the championship this year. UGA did not have to play Bama, LSU, or Arkansas. That would have been 3 losses. The SEC East will be dominated by the SEC West in the Championship game.

Weren’t these the same Bozos who said a couple of years ago that UGA didn’t deserve to be in the BCS Championship game BECAUSE THEY DIDN’T WIN THE SEC TITLE? If that rule applied to UGA, why doesn’t it apply to ‘Bama or LSU??????????

i dont care if we beat the pop warner all stars last sat. to many times after a win over fla we come out and either lose to a inferior team or we have 15 penialties and missed tackles and dropped balls. this team was focused and that says more than 63 pts against an overmatched team. keep your heads on straight and if you win sat no more pot smoking and duis. please.

Friendly Rival, don’t know which Georgia folks you’ve been talking to, but I think you’ve accurately described the way Georgia people feel about Auburn. The Auburn rivalry finishes well behind the Florida and Tech rivalries in terms of intensity. We respect Auburn and want to beat them, but the “rivalry” aspect comes mostly from the competitiveness of the series, Auburn’s proximity to Georgia, and the fact that it falls so late on the schedule.

Florida and Tech are pure hate. I wouldn’t send my money to UF, that’s for sure.

DIT, I have come to determine that there really aren’t Richt Hater on here so much as there are some folks that have backed themselves into such a corner, that they don’t even pretend to be balanced anymore. And I am positive that they only personally believe half of what they make thier online characters post. In short, the actual events and the coaches involved is just the excuse, and pretty irrelavant.

When somebody claims to go to the game as a fan, but is on the computer before the traffic even clears Athens to tell everybody how unacceptable a 63-16 victory was, scolding anyone who dares feel good about winning, you know that’s beyond the pale. NO WAY does that person talk like that in the presence of actual real people.

You are talking like a real person would to another. It does not translate to a make believe puppet characters. Plus without using key words like “clown”, and “idiot”, or “fill in the blank childish insults”, you aren’t even showing up on the radar.

UGA is the most over rated team in the country. Richt has benefited from a schedule that is very weak. Lost to USC, who is proven to be over rated, Lost to Boise who gets little respect for being unbeaten. Who else have you beaten or played? The worse Florida team in years, but had to come from behind…Miss St? Ole Miss? Vanderbilt …that was close? If you would have played the schedule that Auburn has played (or nay other SEC team) you would have 4 or 5 losses right now and no one would be talking about the defense or Richt other than who will replace them both.
This team is fools gold….I hope that they do win out and go to the SEC game…see what they do against a real team….and then see if they can play a good program in a bowl..Central Florida might be available again.

Absolutely the schedule is weaker than the other temas in the West. But guess what everyone gets to rotate their schedule. Next year is our year to play Alabama and we pick up LSU soon. We play the same the rotation that everyone else does so whats your point? We do play the same rotation of schedule that Auburn or anyone else plays in the SEC. Where were your comments 2 years when it was our turn in the barrell with Alabama, LSU, Florida, and Auburn? You will get your chance to play Vandy and Kentucky at some point so until then STFU.
