CBS will televise the Auburn at Georgia football game this Saturday at 3:30 p.m. at Sanford Stadium.
This will be Georgia’s second CBS appearance this season and 66th in school history, joining the Bulldogs’ victory against Florida two weeks ago.
Although Auburn (6-3) is coming off a victory against Ole Miss, the Tigers have been inconsistent, alternating wins and losses in five consecutive games. The Tigers have lost on the road to Clemson, Arkansas and LSU but defeated South Carolina by a field goal.
Georgia (7-2) has won seven in a row after dropping its first two games of the season. The Bulldogs control their destiny in the SEC East, needing victories at home against Auburn and Kentucky to clinch a berth in the SEC title game in the Georgia Dome on Dec. 3.

Methinks the writer is trying to suggest that dogs are due for win, if the logic of a win, lose, win, lose, win, _______ sequence of events holds form.
Bunch BS if you ask me.
This game is a toss up. Eiher team could win big, or little, or not at all.

If Mitchell is back and healthy, I don’t see Auburn being able to keep up with our offense. Not the way our defense has been playing

This is a REVENGE game. Everyone should be ready to play and the atmosphere should be electric. Last year UGA got shoved around in the game. Nick Fairley was a punk. Now it is time to knock’em back off the line and show some aggressive play. I expect 4 quarters of payback. UGA may not be wearing black for this game, but it should be a funeral. We need to bury them for all the crap from last year.

all those richt haters are mighty quiet right now. Im still wondering who you would rather be our coach?? muschamp? mullen? smart? When he retires he will be know as one of the greatest coaches ever. We couldnt be luckier to have his as our coach… they’re not real fans anyway

@Destin Dawg,
Agree with your assessment on the coverage, especially of wheel routes. We’ve been burned by several teams this year on this play. Don’t see us implement this play on the offensive side of the ball, either. Bama utilized it several times last night.

I think Dooley was a great coach, even though he had some bad years. My freshman year (1979), the Dogs were 5-6, including a 31-0 homecoming loss to an awful UVA team. Lucky we didn’t have blogs back then, as these goofballs ( Richt-haters) would’ve demanded Dooley be fired.Even Erk had a bad year every now and then, yet he was a gread d-coordinator. Great coaches can have a bad year or 2, but have a strong body of work over time. That is the case with CMR, so you CMR haters need to just find a new team to deride, and stay the h away from UGA !

Auburns only strength is running game. UGA’s strength is running D. Auburn’s D hasn’t stopped anyone. Don’t see them doing it Saturday. If UGA plays up to their potential, the game will never be in doubt. UGA wins and blows away Kentucky and strolls into the dome Dec. 3.
Also Albarn is due a serious payback. Dirty football team. Blow them away dawgs!

A lot of if-ing, but if Georgia’s starting offense and defense, and hopefully it’s revamped special teams, plays with as much focus and intensity as they did against NMSU, we should beat Auburn.
As others have said, you can throw the records out the window when these two teams play, and you never know which team will play their best.
But I don’t look for a let down from my Dawgs; not this year! This team can beat Auburn.
It’s payback time! It’s our time this year!
Win this game and move forward towards the SEC Championship Game. There’s just too much to play for to not play focused and intense for four complete quarters. Everything has fallen in place to give us this chance.
Players, practice hard this week, coaches get us a good game plan, and let’s go play hard and Beat the Tigers! .. Go Dawgs!

Let’s not get on my bandwagon yet. Auburn will be the best SEC team we have faced all year. Given that I didn’t have the team ready to play week one and Boise plays a weak schedule, Auburn may be the best TEAM we have played all year. I’ll find a way to lose this one, but thanks to a weak SEC East and UF’s down year, the administration will renew and extend my contract. I love being UGA’s coach.

UGA: Remember when 10 years ago, the SEC East was the best division in college football, and you were third, in a three team race? Well, now it’s almost like the ACC or Big East, but you’re still second in a two team race and the new team ahead of you is USC EAST?
If revenge is what drives you, that should be enough.

Humorous, payback? Auburn is not the same team, too many 1 year wonders long gone.
UGA has reeled off 7 (seven) in a row, did the same thing in 2005 (before the UF loss)
End result, SEC Championship appearance, expecting the similar

Don’t know about “Richt haters,” but I’d like to see Mark Richt improve to the point where our teams are serious SEC championship contenders, with national championship aspirations, most every year, never settling for mediocrity. Either that or leave.
As I see it it, this means being far less wedded to lousy assistants. It means more discipline. It means including character as a factor in recruitment. It means focusing on winning games, too, rather than winning souls.
It is possible that our football team will end up playing for the SEC title. Winning it is possible, too. That’s great, but, if it happens, it has come about through backing into the championship, rather than a frontal assault.
I’ll take it, but we won’t have the chance to back in all that often.
There’s a lot to like about Mark Richt. I don’t see any particular reason to think he couldn’t improve, and accomplish what I hope all of us believe can be accomplished given the resources available.
It’s not all about Mark Richt though, as the University has to demand a very high quality football program, and support the coaches, and the team in every possible manner, to increase the chances of success.
So far, we’ve really not beaten anyone of much note. All wins are great, of course, but we have to beat the teams that Mark Richt has had so much trouble with, and that means the teams with the winning records, the ranked teams, and the teams we’re not supposed to beat.
Will we ever win the championship every year? Of course not, but settling for a late-starting, not so well disciplined team, and crummy play calling is not likely to get us to the championship on very many occasions.
I hope this year we get there, but, if we do, if will be partly because of our weak schedule, and not so much an accomplishment of our coach as some Kool-ade drinkers would like to believe.
What’s his record against ranked teams?
What’s his record against SEC teams with winning records?
What’s his record against the heavy hitters of the SEC?
Can Mr. Richt improve? Will the University demand it?
Beat Auburn, Bulldogs!

To all the Richt lovers…I am for UGA not Richt. Did you watch LSU/Alabama last night? Are we anywhere in that league of play? We are going to win the weakest SEC East division ever and have not beaten a ranked team. I’m not saying Richt should go, but we as a fan base need to demand excellence.
