ATHENS – Greetings from bright and and sunny Sanford Stadium. But don’t let that fool you. It’s cold here! A strong, cold wind is blowing north-northwest and keeping the flag in the west end zone blowing straight. It’s strong enough that I’d say it will have an effect on the passing and kicking games.

So here’s what I can tell you so far:

  • Looks like sophomore Brandon Harton is going to get the start at tailback. No big surprise there. The former walkon was named most promising walkon in the spring and earned a scholarship in preseason camp. In fact, he’d played his way into the rotation in August until a severe ankle injury the last week of preseason workouts sidelined him for the first two weeks of the regular season. He has the most experience of the tailbacks left after the Bulldogs lost four to injury and suspension this week.
  • Don’t be surprised to see Nick Marshall line up in the backfield for the Dogs today. Marshall, who is a backup safety and special teams player this season, was an all-state quarterback at Wilcox County, which he led to a Class A state championship. He was actually promised in recruiting a chance to play as the back in Georgia’s rarely-used “Wild Dog” formation. The Bulldogs shut out the media from the teamwork portion of practice this week so there could be all kinds wrinkles we see today.
  • Outside linebacker Reuben Faloughi is not dressed out today. No official reason has been offered by UGA but the Athens Banner-Herald reported late this week that his dorm room at at Rooker Hall was searched on Thursday after a student noticed the smell of marijuana coming from within. Police searched the room and no contraband was found and no arrest was made But Faloughi, a sopohomore backup, is not playing today, so make of it what you will.
  • Jarvis Jones (mild knee sprain) has been announced as a starter at outside linebacker, so I guess he’s going to go. It was not certain late in the week as he did a lot of exercise bike riding during practice.

And how many NC’s will that be for SEC Coaches hired after CMR and with tenures shorter than CMR? I thought we were UGA?! Everyone wants to play here and nobody helps you get better yoy than CMR.

Its too bad all the August national championships we’ve won aren’t counted for something.

I’ve been complaining for years about CMR. And I’ve been right.

So what have you done? Did you even graduate from UGA? I’m so curious about how people seem to think UGA is an NFL team they can just latch on to and then tell alumni to back off when we’re not happy with what is going on with this team ON AND OFF the field.

The stats reflect Bama with a slight edge on defense. However, those stats are skewed. LSU has faced significantly better offenses than has Bama. Other than AR, Bama hasn’t faced a “decent” offense and AR’s is down and without a solid running game. The remaining stats favor LSU. The defenses are close but the is a widened gap on offense. Bama has solid running and thats it. LSU will keep them one dimensional and stack the box. This is one of those games where on paper LSU should win. All the talking heads seem to have Bama as the fav based on home field advantage. It’s much deeper than that. Anyway, makes me no different, I’d certainly take LSU straight up but Vegas is giving points. I’ll take those too

No I did not graduate from UGA. Is that some sort of preriquisite for being a fan? I did pay for two educations at UGA if that helps, just neither of them were mine. I wasn’t fortunate enough to go to UGA but I did also pay for (most) of my education at another Georgia University system school likely well before you were even an urge of sexual lust in your daddy’s loin. You don’t know half of what you think you know and if the way you post on this blog is any indication you probably never will. Good luck to you guy. I have a feeling you will need all you can get

We scheduled colorado and az state years ago and were stoked– who knew tha co would suck in 5 years? of course they still beat us. we have a home and home with Ohio St schedule for 2016-17 — will they be a top 10 ten ? we will be??? who knows — schedule the games and play them

I have heard of him but, that’s the extent of it. All I did was write the checks for two daughters. I am a life long fan however. In the 70’s attending UGA was for the rich kids, brainiacs or superior athletes. I was none of the above. I was fortunate enough to send to my kids to school there though.

Not against a 3-6 team they didn’t from the WAC. It is AUBURN next week not the Citadel. Those running backs will not see the field in a SEC game unless the score is 49-0.

UGA2002,

As long as a person is a tax payer in this state, he can damn well be a fan, since he helped pay for your education. Some of us didn’t get the chance to get our degree from UGA, as some of us, actually went into the service and helped insure you could go to college without having to worry about having the freedom to so so. I got my degree in a scientific discipline while in the service and I would compare mine favorably against yours any day. As long as I pay taxes in this state, I will cheer for whomever I wish, and you my friend, don’t have the right to decide that. It is fans like you and your snob attitude that give negative bloggers on here, all the ammunition they need to cut down UGA. Give it a break, and think before applying fingers to keyboard.

I would have felt a lot more confident about Arkansas beating SC if they hadn’t struggled so much with Ole Miss and Vandy. It is good that the game is in Fayetteville where they are much much better as a home team and struggle on the road. SC will still make it close I bet.

A big college football fan living in UGA territory. So sick of hearing about the team this year…have played an OK Carolina team, a team that gets no respect in Boise but lost both. Since…beaten not a single team that has won more than they have lost. UGA is full of excuses…team is young, no offensive line, injuries…blah..blah…hasn’t Richt been there long enough with top 10 classes, depth, attrition and such should be of little concern. Although I am not a Tech fan, i hope they beat the crap out of the dawgs, might shut them up….Auburn will beat them next week.

UGA2002,

Obviously the education you received didn’t teach you a thing about character and about the only thing it appears to have taught you is to be a snot nosed conceited person. If not for Fans, that you say latched onto the program, UGA would have a stadium half filled most of the time, and then have only fans like yourself to cheer them on.
Just for information purposes for you, since you are so very knowledgeable and us non graduates are so unqualified: Bosie State was made an opponent, exactly one year before we played them this year, not scheduled a long time ago.
As for your shove it remark. I am almost 63 years old, and I probably know enough from my 21 years of service, defending sorry A** people like you to shove it right where your head is now firmly in place. That would be in your lower posterior region of your body. You haven’t earned the right to tell me or anybody else on these blogs, who can be a fan or not. You sound worse than the typical Tech. Nerd that comes on these blogs, trying to insult somebody because you have a college degree. Like I said, I will put my degree against yours any day, and I actually had to work for mine.
