Video: Tailbacks, suspensions, character issues and now who totes the rock?

I answer the questions of CineSport’s Noah Coslov about Georgia’s tailback situation heading into Saturday’s home game against New Mexico State. Coslov by the way, is getting married this weekend, so feel free to include your well wishes to him among the comments. Congratulations, Noah. . . .

tampa: That fat guy with a flat tire dbag is lonely. What will he do if he can’t come on here acting like a dawg fan (which clearly did not attend UGA)? He lives with his parents at 35yrs old and again smells weird and is lonely. I try and keep the dbag company when time allows. BTW, he is factless!!!!

As a matter of fact you are a dbag troll that still lives with his parents at the age of 35. You are the bottom of the earth that got personal btw. What is nonsense about this fact

People wanting to talk about how great of a coach Richt has been they spout off 100 wins ok

But you look at things that are most important such as how Richt fares in big games and you find that

Richt is 29-26 against top 25 opponents
8-11 against top 10 opponents
Hasnt beat a ranked team in 2 yrs

All with the talent that UGA has had

So thats nonsense

I encourage each of you to read the “1969 Graduate” piece posted at 12:53 pm. Hats off to 1969 for a carefully crafted and accurate posting on the state of UGA football and why it exists as it does today. Congrats to 1969 Graduate for a timely post.

If we had the news and media coverage we have today when Dooley was coach he never would have lasted 2 years at Georgia. Those boys were wild back then and Vince would have been defending them from sunrise to sunset. Relax people. I am sure none of you ever got tipsy, smoked a joint or had sex before marriage but be merciful to these bad and sinful boys. Yeah, they messed up. No we’re not happy about. And yes, we wish they were good little boys like we were when we went to UGA. Sh!t happens. Let’s see if they learn from their mistakes before we exile them to the human waste bin. I hope they will but if not, there will be a time to deal with it.

I agree with 1969

Yea when UGA has been a National Champion of player arrests since 2005 I guess we cant blame Richt for that either according to the bong smokers aka

Tampa Dawg, WDE, Mr. Kinky, and Altamaha Dope

They love to overlook those embarrasments of the UGA program

Some post touched on it, but it is not about the “he said/she said” on the pot issue. It is about conditioning and getting the most production out of the recruits. Bottom line, IC is not in good shape. This is what happens to all those 5* players.

Yes Flat Tire that is nonsense. The VAST majority of MAJOR college programs would kill to have those numbers over a 10 year span. Have they had some down times the last couple of years? Yup. Do all teams have down years? Yup. I know, I know .. we could have had Will Muschamp right? Or we could have brought in Dan Mullen at the end of last year right?

Yup those same teams keep on losing to ranked teams, those same teams keep losing to the same team those same teams have losing records to top opponents all with having the #2 best talent in that 10 yr span dont they

Wait with no national title and having to hope other teams lose out so you can go to your conference championship game

Yup that about sums it up

OSU, under Tressel didn’t beat every ranked team they played. USC with the monster classes they had, didn’t beat every ranked team they played. Let’s just keep firing through coaches though until we get a title right?

BTW, what 2 things do those two schools have in common?

1. They got their NC
2. They got their NCAA punishments. Careful what you wish for.

Go dawgs I must disagree. Murray’s passes were not poorly thrown for the 2 td’s . Those recievers were blanketed and he put it in the only place our guy had a chance to make the play. Even at that it did take a great catch. Glad you don’t hate Murray. Good kid, talented and yes, a tad too inconsistent but he does bleed red and black.

K2 is illegal (I think) in every state now but, it doesn’t matter if it’s K2 or Pot. It’s a forbidden chemical by the Athletic department.

K2 I understand to be akin man made meth. Seems the health risks are greater than smoking weed. Why not just smoke weed? *shrugs*

“Does Tech even give drug tests to it’s SA’s?

The ESPN writer was on 790 The Zone and said Richt orders drug tests as soon as he
has a reason to suspect someone has been abusing drugs, and that he had wider
information that his happened over the summer, and that all involved passed the
screening.

But have you ever heard of Tech players suspended for recreational drugs? Based on
what I’ve read concerning tuis incident, all of that is completely up to the school and
it’s AD; he NCAA tests for performance enhancers but nothing else.

While we he world is hammering us for suspending Crowell for dope, why is nobody
questioning the leniency and testing frequency at other programs?

Tech doesn’t suspend on the first positive drug test – and what do we know about
whether or not they test at all? If they never have any suspensions, you can assume
one of three thingsTech

1- Tech players never do drugs (lol)
2- Tech always nips it the bud after the first positive test
3- Tech does not test, or they warn their players a test is coming

Number 1 is laughable, number 2 would seem nice, but this is an athletic department
that actually saw a baseball player overdose on heroin, and the odds he never did any
testable drugs before that are nil IMO.

On number three, they just got smacked by the NCAA for warming a kid that he was
going to be questioned. They have also been smacked for playing kids they knew to
be inelligible. Thy have established a culture of hireling facts rather than risk losing
players for games – the total opposite of our own “air all be dirty laundry” approach.

The local media has relished going all Woodward and Bernstein on Greg McGarrity.
Let’s see if they turn to Tech and ask some hard questions concerning their drug
policies.

Just don’t hold your breath for that to happen. ”

From a blogger on another site….now Yechmites posting as Dawg fans, Dawg fans being irrational and other ignorant posters criticizing CMR….put that in your pipe and smoke it….

You reap what you sow. If Richt wants to continue recruiting alcoholics, drug users, and miscreants, then he’ll continue having to deal with losers like Crowell and Washington.

Maybe Washington learned something and will straighten himself out, but Crowell shows every sign of being a perennial loser, far more likely to be sweeping an NFL stadium than playing in one.

Maybe not, it’s just as likely that he gets it together. We’ll see. Can’t really know what that first issue was and could very well be some sort of meeting/study tardiness or just a lazy effort that Wednesday. Richt is really handling this kid with a lot more personal attention than normal. Personally, I don’t think Crowell has as much issues as some previous players, and It just seems as if he is really trying to get out in front of it with some tough love, he must think there is something there.

Enough already with all the CMR bashing. While these athletes may be kids in some eyes, I am not too old to remember what it is like to be that age. They are young adults and should be held accountable for their actions – not CMR. It is easy to knock the man, too easy for me to hop aboard that wagon. I can argue for and against him as the HC. Maybe he is too soft, perhaps we are just given more info than other fans. Maybe he will bring a NC to us, perhaps not. As long as he is the HC and he is giving us his best, I cannot attack him personally. When it comes to the Xs and Os, he is fair game.

TampaDawg at 2:07,

TD, read the handbook they give out that I referenced above. It gives specific guidelines that the schools must follow and can even put a school on suspension if too much crap goes on in the dope dept. Yes, they do, for the most part leave it up to the schools to punish the individuals but they make up the rules as to what the student has to know, and he has to sign a a mandated NCAA form letter acknowledging that the athlete has read the NCAA guidelines, and agrees to comply with them. My understanding is he also has to sign a letter of agreement, stating that he has read and understands the UGA guidelines, and punishment possible as well. The NCAA is very much involved in setting the guideline and educating these kids about drugs and policies. In fact they have a whole department devoted to compliance issues in this area. UGA’s is one of the toughest policies and punishment schedules in the NCAA. There are a few that are tougher but that is mostly like at a college supported by a denomination. I applaud UGA for their tough stand, in light of other schools that are win first and turn the head the other way, until it becomes impossible, to let the person continue to play anymore without losing all credibility. Steve Spurrier-Steve Garcia travesty comes to mind.

Issues like this are the easy way for Richt bashers to come back after several games of relative calm in the front. AJC have found another issue to hang over the head of the UGA faithful. To those who say that this does not happen in other schools athletic programs are plain simple delusional. What is worse bashing the head of other people in a bar fight or these. LOL

I think those Richt haters should forget about this issue as the more they dwell on it the more entrenched Richt become in his position. The hater will not determine the fate of Richt. It will be those old conservative athletic board members and big contributors.

To the haters, you will not affect the future of Richt. LOL
