I answer the questions of CineSport’s Noah Coslov about Georgia’s tailback situation heading into Saturday’s home game against New Mexico State. Coslov by the way, is getting married this weekend, so feel free to include your well wishes to him among the comments. Congratulations, Noah. . . .

So may comments indicating most schools ( other than Ga) do not address player issues. Be aware just last week LSU suspended 3 starters for the Auburn game. Tenn dismissed 3 returning starters and Fla 1 All Sec player before season started, just to name a few examples. All schools have issues, some many more than others.
Quit making excuses and accept that many great HS athletes do in fact have attitudes and questionable Character issues when they arrive on campus. Some change, others don’t.

He has already had 2 chances, right? Didn’t he sit out part of another game? My comments point toward the fact that not only is he on his second suspension, but look at his attitude in general… Not quite sure as to what make of your post, though. If you have been paying attention to my posts, then you will know I am not a troll, either…

Richt : “When these players screw up and embarass the University of Georgia, we just show them love.”
You should show them the way out of Athens. You showed Ealey & King the way out for alcohol & academic problems. But drugs seem to be okay. Not too many people in prison for drinking alcohol & failing Math & English. But a ton of drug users clog the prisons ! UGA is giving special treatment to I.Crowell because he is such a great player. But its still wrong.

Holy COW, people! It’s football and this stuff has been going on since they ever put toe to leather (in some fashion or another). They deal with it. The fans of other teams just pile on when their rival has a slip up. We do it, they do it…. We had three guys that smoked some weed. I’m sure they are the ONLY ones at the school that did it. Guess what, next week it will be some other school that has something happen and everyone will pile on that school. i’m just sick of all the negativeness you people bring and act like this is some new sickness that was just discovered. It has ALWAYS happened and it will ALWAYS happen. Some of you people just take life too seriously and FOR SURE your football teams too seriously. I think I’ll go by some beer for the game this weekend and start getting excited about another fall Saturday afternoon.

Richt reached the tipping point when he ordered the team to dance in the end zone against UF. It has been downhill ever since, with player arrests, bad sportsmanship, and poor performance on the field. A strong president would have sent Richt packing years ago. This drug bust is just another manifestation of Richt’s lack of leadership. Georgia has the money and the facilities to field teams that could compete at the national level, but that is not going to happen with gimmicks like black outs, energy vampires, and other Richt-induced silliness.

I didn’t take you as a troll guy. Just giving you an honest opine from another non-troll. I think it’s too early to dictate dumping Crowell. He fugged up, BIGtime. He’s talented sure enough but if he isn’t willing to learn especially from his mistakes, he needs dumping. I just say it’s much too early. We don’t all learn as quick as others. Some are slow, others are much slower, some never learn

Regarding character issues with 18-23 year old prima donna athletes- Prima Donnas are not born, they are made by some parents and some coaches.(don’t know about in football circles but do know about AAU basketball circles) Most of these kids are merely doing on a bigger stage what they have always done. Hopefully for their and their families sake, they get it together and make the most of their incredible opportunity to get a free education and for some, play pro ball. Regardless of when the administration knew about the results of the drug test, UGA will continue to thrive as an academic institution and as an athletic department. I have been a Dawg fan since ‘76 and the actions of these kids now or others in the past does not taint UGA’s image to me. Richt and company have responded with discipline to every infraction that has been made public and I wonder if anyone could have done better. Surely no one could have done better regarding failed drug tests. Only Kentucky is just as good. Dawgs, let’s finish 10-2, get a BCS bowl and get ready for next year as a preseason top 10 and see what happens.

Yes, Dr. Phil…every program should be squeaky clean and no slip ups ever. That way, all of the Big Boy football teams won’t have 2/3’s of the quality players on their team and you fans would be calling for the head coaches head because he isn’t winning 10-12 games every year. You can’t have it both ways. Every school in the nation will take a chance on some stud player even though he has had a few bumps in the road. Always have always will. Some will pan out and others won’t and they’ll get criticised for “not recruiting character”. But the next recruiting class, there will be thousands of fans screaming about getting “so and so” because he is 6′4″, 230 lbs and runs a 4.4 forty. Oh yeah….he got in trouble at school once…..Ooops. SIGN HIM NOW or you aren’t a good recruiter! The sarcasm should be dripping from your monitor by now….

but I mean these guys are confirmed illegal drug abusers. If UGA reports them to police, police can at least ask them where they got the illegal substance and find the drug dealers.
everybody hates the drug dealers in this country, don’t the drug abusers bear some responsibility as well? At least they have the responsibility to co-operate with the police.

Alphare, because they did not catch them in the act of smoking the weed. Who is to say this isn’t wasn’t a contact high? Chemistry lab gone wrong? Somebody put it in their drinks? Not like the LSU trio who were arrested. Second offenses but yet starting this week against Bama. Where’s the outrage there? Here UGA is calling for the test, it was not a random test by the NCAA, getting the results back and suspending the first time offenders ( not like 10 other SEC schools who don’t suspend for 1st time test failures), for one game.

Lets not forget we are 6-2 and one Garcia-less and Latimore-less SC loss from being in first place in the East. Given all of the goings on this year with the team, 6-2 sounds pretty damn good to me, including that win over the lizards. I’m not going to sit here and pretend that I was a model citizen during my time at UGA – kids make mistakes. (It just so happened the campus cop who caught me was cool and dumped out my big glass of Jim Beam and Coke, instead of getting me for minor in possession!!!) IC needs to straighten up, and I think he will. I like our new AD…things are headed in the right direction. Chill out everyone!! Go Dawgs…

Ealey took himself out of the game up here in Lexington this year versus Kentucky. He was mad at his coaches for not giving him the ball more.
Some things never change.
I’ll take Crowell over him any day. Crowell will learn from this and work it out or go but he has never publicly thrown his coaches under the bus like Ealey did with Richt and like what he is doing right now at Jacksonville State.
