WR Israel Troupe doesn’t make trip, Dogs down to 4 scholarship WRs

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Greetings once again from EverBank Field, where we’re closing in on kickoff for the annual Georgia-Florida rivalry.

Some pregame news and notes:

  • Senior wide receiver Israel Troupe did not make the trip. No official reason was given as of yet but that obviously leaves the Bulldogs extremely thin at wide receiver.
  • Georgia was already having to go without leading receiver Malcolm Mitchell. The freshman split end from Valdosta was a late scratch when he failed to sufficiently overcome a pulled hamstring injury.
  • Rantavious Wooten (concussion) still has not returned since his late September car accident. At this point he would seem likely to be heading toward a medical redshirt season.
  • So all that leaves the Bulldogs with four scholarship wide receivers with which to compete. That’s starters Marlon Brown and Tavarres King and backups Michael Bennett and Chris Conley. Walk-ons Taylor Bradberry and Rhett McGowan complete the receiving corps for this game.

We’re almost there. Buckle up people!

Say what you want all of you pathetic naysayers – and I agree with some of you that Richt needs to tighten up in several areas (special teams in particular) – but – over 100 wins in under 11 years in the toughest conference in America is not too shabby, my friends. If you coach long enough you will have down times – you can either bail (ala Urban Cryer) or you can fight through it like a man and right the ship. Richt ain’t crying about the tough times – he’s putting together good, solid classes and coaching through adversity to wins. But he does need to get rid of Bobo – we can do better than that – ALTHOUGH – having said that —– it doesn’t seem like three Super Bowl rings has done much for Weiss at the college level. You just never know what you will be getting some times. I wonder how many of the posters who wish we had gotten Muschamp still want that choice? Nah…..didn’t think so.

Good solid win.. Best of luck the rest of the season! Hope Georgia wins out and SC loses one of their remaining games.

Georgia won and it’s over! Move on, forget about the last game and concentrate on the up-coming schedule.

The special teams is not what we have come to expect at Georgia, but hopefully Georgia can get this corrected before moving on. I am a Murray fan, but if he’s having a bad day, what’s wrong with Mason getting a few snaps , if for no other reason, than to try and settle Murray down. He was over throwing his receivers and staying in the pocket-way too long!!

I would like to see Richt and Bobo take the reins off Murray down the stretch and give the kid a chance to play football the way he can- being mobile! He may or may not be a future NFL quarterback, but that should not be part of the consideration while trying to develop him as a pro-style quarterback, not just yet-he’s got too play to his capabilities.

Just look at what he does when the reins are taken off compared when he stays in the pocket. He’s going to get hurt staying in the pocket for so long- he can run, let him make that decision.

I know Coach Richt and Bobo are trying to protect their quarterback, but somtimes like a parent, you just have to let your family members be themselves, along as it’s within the law. Their individual personalities is who they are, and Murray is a hell a lot better quaterback when he has some individual decisions he can make.

Just let Murray be Murray and play the game of football the way he knows how. The wins will come and you will have a better quarterback and a better team!

Cut it any way you like.. The “UGA” “D” will “TCB”.
I hope The “O” can get better.
Special teams are the weak link in this “UGA” TEAM CHAIN.
ON “D” make no mistake these DAWGS will HUNT not BARK at the MOON.

I’v been a “UGA” fan all the way back starting in 1956.
I haven’t seen “D” like this since Erik Russell’s junk yard DAWGS.
