Weis won’t want Brantley in the pocket for long. I expect quick passes, the same slants and screens that Spurrier used to kill us with. And, then they’ll be running Demps and Rainey when it gets loosened up. We better be VERY disciplined in our assigments.

I’m expecting Florida’s offense to be gearing up for many quick dumps to Demp and Rainey regardless of who the QB is. We haven’t stopped those in two years yet, no sense in thinking we can now

The if attitude needs to change to the we will attitude. If Mark Richt had Lane Kiffin’s attidude UGA would be undefeated for the past 10.5 years. Lane Kiffin told UGA he would kick our butts and did. Mark Richt say welllll maybe we can win if…… Even Muschamp told his fan Florida will not lose!!!!! The excuse of being a home game for Florida is BULL… Maybe Tavaras King will catch a ball!!!!!! Throw thge ball t6o Figgins out of the backfield. Crowell hasn’t caught many balls… I can’t say anymore that any of you who will win but I’ll be watching on my TV until the last play win, or lose. I’m not convince UGA can stop Demps and Rainey on the outside. I don’t know if UGA can run outside as they don’t do much of it. I sure hope Murray don’t get hurt because our backup QB don’t get into the games. In case we don’t luck up and win let me be the first to say. It’s because we didn’t EXECUTE!!!!!!! Anybody else tired of hearing that excuse????? Chipper the lady called it right “IT”S IN UGA’s HEAD, THEY CAN NOT WIN IN JACKSONVILLE AGAINST FLORIDA”

Nice video. Points out what seems less than obvious to some, that Florida and Georgia are a lot closer matched than their records would indicate. It’ll be a lot easier on us should we find a way to lose if we all keep that in mind.
Anybody else notice our guy talking about how we might win because of their quarterback’s injury. That’s the state of our program right now.
We are reduced to backing into victory (at best), and aren’t even talking about looking forward to challenging an excellent team, hoping that they can be at their very best to give us a great contest.
Mark Richt “hopes” we can stay in the top 25. How about some plans to rise through the ranks, coach, and end up in the hunt? No…that would be too ambitious for our coach, and he might have to find a less offensive coordinator.
I hope that Florida’s best quarterback has the best game of his life, and every Florida player has a career game, and every coaching decision Florida’s coaches make is a throwback to the days of “The Old Ball Coach.” I hope they have zero penalties, and come out like hungry lions.
I hope we tear their heads off, but I’m not holding my breath.

It will be interesting to see what wrinkle Florida comes up with. They always seem to throw something in that we are not prepared to defend. We are solid up the middle. It’s the swing passes, tunnel screens and misdirection plays that make me extremely nervous.
And then there is Mike Bobo. Never know what your going to get but the only time we have looked good against Florida in the last 11 years is when we lined up and ran right at them. Crowell is capable of having a Knowshon like 2007 game this weekend if the line can block. To date, that hasn’t happened, so I won’t hold my breath waiting for it.

Im not predicting a blow out but I am more confident this year than I have been in a long time and it’s because of our defense. One thing about football that will never change is that defense wins games and I feel we have the better defense, but I do think it will be close. One more thing don’t feed the trolls they’ll go a way.

Hard to predict this one, Fla has lost to two very good teams in Bama and LSU and to a rebuilding Auburn team, Georgia is on a five game winning streak, But they haven’t beaten a good team and just did escape from Nashville with a win , Look for a close game but Turnovers will determine who wins.

All ya’ll need to get real. Beat the Gators? With Richt and Bobo in charge, we have a better chance of losing this game than any other. Florida only ran 3 plays last year with 3 differant QB’s and we couldn’t stop them all day. Then the next week, the Gators couldn’t even score ONE offensive touchdown against South Carolina? Face it UGA fans, our current coaches suck! Always have! Richt won when the SEC was down. Check it, how many of those opposing SEC coaches are around now? What’s Richt’s record against teams with winning records for the last 4 years? We barely beat Vandy this year! VANDY!?!?!? I hope I’m wrong, I love them DAWGS, but I think we’ll all be singing Corey Smith’s “Long ride back from Jacksonville” when this one is over…

Were leaving in the morning for my 35th. GA/FL game. If we play defense like we know we can, play within the rules, and get some turnovers, we should win. If we give turnovers, like we usually do, it could be a loss. On offense, the offensive line is the key whether on a run or a pass play. Murray and IC need time for the play to develop.
It would be really nice if at the end of the game, we could afford to call our three timeouts. But we all know Coach Richt would never to anything like that.

3 Keys to a UGA Win:
I’ve looked over the UF-UGA match up going back last 10 games. Looked at 100 different variables like turnovers, penalties, etc. 3 keys were found.
1- In our 9 losses in the depressing “Aaron Murray Era”, which many now call “The Athens Great Depression”, Murray throws at least 27 passes. One key is to limit Interception Machine’s touches to 20 passes, only 5 per quarter.
2- In Richt’s 10 UF-UGA games, he is 2-8. The 2 wins, he had a 100 yards rusher, the 8 losses he didn’t. So Crowell must get 100 yards rushing to get a win. This means at least 20 carries. But Crowell needs more touches than Murray to win the game. You put the ball in the hands of playmakers, who protect the football.
3- In 8 out 10 games, the team wins who’s tight end has more yards. So Charles has to show up and dominate. Murray has to FINALLY figure out how to get the ball to Charles. Aron White needs to make some plays when his number is called.

“We’re obviously focusing on Georgia, but it’s not really just him we’re looking at,” Floyd said of Murray. “It’s the running back and him. But I really didn’t see nothing outstanding.”

LSU and AL showed how you beat FL. Other than knocking Brantly out of the game both Saban and Miles dominated FL w/defense. They smothered their running game and didn’t allow the FL to sit in the pocket or run. Not taking anything away from AL or LSU offense it was the D that that held FL almost scoreless.
Tampadawg. I doubt GA’s D can do what AL or LSU did on D to FL. I’ll be a believer when I see it happen. Just hoping the D can do enough while Bobo and the offense don’t turn the ball over, run the ball and score more points than FL does.
With one exception, GA’s wins thus far does not build confidence but rather the opposite when they take the field. You never know what you’re goiong to get.

Before Brantley got hurt at the end of the first half against Bama…..Florida was going up and down the field against the Tide. A pass int and a sack the hurt Brantley kept that game from being tied at the half. What Bama and LSU did against Florida to win the game was……RUN THE BALL DOWN THEIR THROATS. I don’t think Georgia has the same kind of OL and RBs that Bama and LSU has. But we will see. I am sure Georgia is going to come out and run the ball to try and set up a couple of deep throws. With Demps and Brantley coming back, Georgia will now have to defend real speed on both edges (Rainey and Demps in the backfield). Neither Bama or LSU faced that issue because Demps got injured early in the Bama game.

Alabama did cripple Florida’s offense by injuring Demps and Brantley, but the outcome would have been the same either way. Florida burned Bama with the long TD pass to start the game. After that, they never threatened to sniff the end-zone again. Alabama’s defense is impressive. That said, they also have the best offense in the conference. It’s just as well that Georgia won’t face them this year.

Murray has been quoted as saying he wants another shot at Florida after all the turn over’s last year , that he learned something. My question is wasn’t the South Carolina game the mirror image of last years Florida’s game. He didn’t learn much.
Murray is the key in this game and how much pressure Robinson, Ogletree, and Jones can put on Brantley. Usually our field goal kicker would be important but Walsh has been so unreliable with must kick’s I hope we don’t even use him except for kick off’s.

I thought we could really beat them but it appears that Richt is destined to lose this game and get fired or resign.
I say 21-17 Florida and I hope that I am really really wrong.

I’m worried about the lack of a passing game threat. With Wooten and Mitchell out, all we have is Brown…that allows the Gators to crowd the line to shut down Crowell and out tight end..

Ga’s D was exposed by Vandy. It is hard to say what Ga’s Offense will do under Bobo. OL are not blocking like a 320 lb a piece line should block. Gators have lost to three very good teams. Auburn is good. It is a toss up. Goo dawgs!!! I need TICKETS GA SIDE!!!

Richt usually does not lie about his players and their availability. Mitchell re-injured his hamstring on Monday and he is being considered to be left in Athens, much less play in the game.
I’m hoping Marlon Brown can step up.
I’m also hoping we can sack Brantley a few times and get in his head. It sure won’t help his physical condition either.
There are just a lot of negatives for us and positives for them. Not to mention 2-8 including 2002,2003,2005 where we should have won.

If the DAWGS defense plays good and disciplined, and the offense plays wide open the whole game, UGA wins. We have more offensive weapons, we can throw out at them. We will most likely be missing Mitchell, but we have enough other WR’s that we can negate this loss. We will be short for half a game, in two of our defensive players, but we have more than adequate coverage in those two positions. We will also have them back in the second half, so Florida will not get much rest there. They depend on two fast RB’s that are about 80% of their offense, but if you contain them somewhat on the outside, Florida is in trouble. Their offensive line is not doing real well either. They have a less than stellar QB coming back maybe, but his mobility is not that great and if we keep that pressure up the middle, he gets happy feet and your guess is as good as mine, as to where the ball goes, if he is forced to throw before he is ready. We can cover the middle as we have corrected that problem from the Boise game.
As long as we do not play conservatively on offense, we have the weapons to make them pay for blitzing, and we need to keep the pressure on them the whole game. The majority of these young kids could give a da** less about previous games, because they are out to establish their own identity and legacy, and these kids are ready to go. Nobody expected the DAWGS to have anywhere near the success they have had this year, so this favors them. We have a bunch of athletic and fast players on both sides of the ball. I don’t think our biggest concern is sticking with their fast backs down the field on pass plays. If we keep the pressure up on them and meet them them in their backfield enough, they will not have time to go that far down field. Blitz with a measure of caution, but often enough so that they know, we can and will . Florida can not dink us to death, simply because we have a bunch of speed in our linebackers and contain that to a large extent.
Murray has to be patient and take what the defense gives him and I think they will give him a lot of openings. Run the H*** out of the ball, and make them stop us. Let’s not stop ourselves.
If the OC of UGA has a decent game plan, and doesn’t just settle for protecting a small lead, UGA can win this game easily. If he gets too conservative, he makes it a long day for the players. I would just score and keep scoring if I could and make them stop us. If they can’t stop our offense, I would keep it going with whatever is successful, for the full 60 minutes.
Mushcamp feels the need to bolster his troops up and his fans by guaranteeing a win and if this is his thing, so be it. CMR is being his usual conservative self, and not predicting a victory, and let’s let the players decide who comes home feeling better. The simple fact is UGA has the better team and more skill players so let’s see how these youngsters perform on the big stage. I think they will win the game, as long as Bobo, prepares the offense to play all 60 minutes and not try and protect a small lead, by wearing down the defense. If we didn’t learn anything else from the Vanderbilt game, the lesson should have been that no lead is safe, if half your team shuts down and expects the other half to preserve a win. The defense won the game from beginning to end there, but they spent too much time trying to protect the anemic offensive game plan. If UGA can’t beat them this year, perhaps we need a new OC and let the old one go back to being the QB coach. This game is more about coaching and showing they belong in the game, than it is about the players playing the game. We know we have the athletes, let’s see now if we have the coaches.

Murray has to keep his nerves about him. UGA’s use of Walsh needs to be kept to a minimum unless the field goal posts are widened six-fold. Bobo should eat some sketchy Chinese food the night before. Ogletree should try to catch up on the stat sheet with his fellow linebackers all in one game. If these things happen, we should be good to go.

I don’t think Muschamp is in “danger” no matter how they finish this year BUT nobody believes that he was meant to be the long term answer at UF.
Was he honesty the best candidate for the job after Foley did an exhaustive search of the country to replace Meyer? Was Zook the best they could possibly hire to replace Spurrier?
This is the exact same thing that Foley did before. Just sacrifice a couple of years, (since things tend to cycle over time anyway), hope things work out not too bad, until the timing is right to hire the “real” guy. If you hire the real guy to follow the uber-successful last guy and he struggles any at all, where do you go from there?
Muschamp is just the guy standing next to the guy. I’m sure he knows that, but understands this was a great opportunity. For his next job.

I suppose that ‘Chip’ sees himself as a ‘reporter’ and not a ‘homer’ – after all we’ve already got a ‘homer’ doing ‘his’ thing, never mind that Billy King is about as negative on Richt and Bobo as any of the AJC scribes are – but Chip at least you could have stood up to a sheila. I mean instead of agreeing with her about UF being in Georgia’s head, why not amend that to say ‘well if they are they’ll get that our of their heads just as soon as some of Grantham’s ‘hitmen’ knock a few Florida d*cks off. What this, and any, Georgia team needs is to just pound those guys. Back in the days when Vince was taking teams down there, even when Florida was ranked higher and a prohibitive favorite, just as soon as we hit ‘em in the mouth a few times and they realized we weren’t going away, they resorted to being ‘Florida’ and thinking about ‘the beach and bruskies’. Hell, even when we did that damn end-zone dance, Urban challenged his guys – after all it was early in the first half – to get after us and they wimped out. I’ve been to a lot of those games and one things for sure ain’t no Gators ever gotten in my face and not regretted it. Do it to ‘em before they do it to us.
Having said all that, I wish we had some tougher running backs…then again so does Florida.
Oh, and one more thing, tried to land the ‘FireWill’, or ‘FireMuschamp’, or even ‘FireMuschump’ sites, but it appears that UF fans have beaten me to it. Guess they’re getting ready, just in case.

Our quarterback could lose the game for us, no matter what everyone else does, but isn’t that always the situation. There’s no help for a lot of interceptions, and fumbles.
Still, I don’t think the quarterback is our major problem. A lot of what makes a quarterback look bad is an inadequate offensive line, and a poor running game.
Do we have the line to open the holes? I’m not sure we do. Do we have a cadre of quick, bruising, sturdy backs to run through holes should holes appear? Maybe not.
Can our line protect the quarterback when he’s passing?
Besides that, our highly suspect special teams better be ready for the plays they’ve seemed oblivious to in recent games. Special teams which are far from special will be exploited, and we can be sure Florida knows it.
Our coaches can lose the game for us too. That’s been amply demonstrated. Will they suddenly figure out how to call plays better than my dead grandmother? Will they manage the clock? Will they stand on the sidelines, and admire their haircut on the television screen?
Are there any signs that we have learned to use our big ends effectively? Do we even have a fullback? Can we do anything sensible on third and whatever? Can our pass receivers and quarterback agree on how deep the pass will be?
Does the fact that we’ve beat a few team who haven’t beaten anybody else tell us anything about our team? Do Florida’s losses to the best two teams in college football tell us much? We should know that neither Florida nor Georgia are in the LSU/Alabama league, but are we both just barely better than Kentucky?
There are a lot of unanswered questions on the Georgia side, and an excessive optimism born of thinking this is a crummy Florida team, so we “should” beat them. Pathetic! How ’bout “we can beat anybody, so bring on the best.”
This may be a relatively crummy Florida team. They still may be a lot a better than their record appears. I hope Florida plays “a complete game,” and plays their very best, and really brings it to the Bulldogs.
Yes, I want us to win, and I want us to win against the best Florida can offer, because otherwise we prove nothing to ourselves.
I think we can beat Florida, and I hope we do, but I wouldn’t bet on it.
Go, Georgia Bulldogs!

UGA wins, if Bobo calls a game that isn’t conservative and filled with runs up the middle and long, low percentage completion passes. UGA has a bunch of young athletes, that are trying to start a legacy for UGA and they can play ball and are improving each week. Our Red Zone problems are the direct result of our offensive play calling that occurs inside the 20 yard line. We try and insure to call plays that are low risk, low yardage gainers with the mindset of preserving the chance for a field goal. Utilize that big old FB we have. I am sure he could move a pile a little at 270 pounds. No we don’t have big bruiser backs, but we do have one fast young man, who can get around the ends and juke and out speed a lot of the LB’s teams have. Why send him up the middle? Our Ol does a sufficient job of run blocking, but appear to be too slow at present to pass block really effectively. It appears though, that our OC hasn’t figured that out yet. I would think, going for high probability shorter passes, would do a better job.
Our DL should give the Florida OL a headache all day long, and Brantley’s not a real threat to run, even before his high ankle sprain. We will need to contain the two fast backs they have, but we have the LB’s to do the job. The big key is UGA’s DL mostly, because if they keep the pressure up, Florida will most likely have to resort to running the ball a lot. Force them to go outside and let our big, fast LB’s do their job.
I would like to see our FB get the ball a few times a game also. I do not understand why Bobo doesn’t utilize that asset anymore than he usually does. Maybe he can only get 3-4 yards a carry, but if nothing else, he will wear down the defense. Big backs manage to do that when they are utilized correctly. Remember Ron Dane and Earl Campbell, just to mention a few. We need to make the TE’s a bigger part of the offense also. We did that in the Vandy game, but it needs to be done every game. You can’t have enough offensive options or weapons, unless you fail to utilize them.
Let’s face it though. The game will come down to the play calling and Bobo has got to get away from being conservative and go for the kill, when he has a lead, not try and leave it up to the defense to protect that lead. When you have a team reeling, go for the kill as often as you can. Especially, when it is against your biggest rival. Take away the Jacksonville advantage, and shut down their crowd. In other words, just beat the snot out of them today DAWGS.
GO DAWGS and GATA
