If UF tries the short pass offense, watch for Ogletree to have a productive day, with his coverage skills.

Maybe a pick-6 or two.

Unbiased, Boise didn’t get a 1st down until Ogletree left with a broken foot midway through the 1st quarter.

If the DAWGS defense plays good and disciplined, and the offense plays wide open the whole game, UGA wins. We have more offensive weapons, we can throw out at them. We will most likely be missing Mitchell, but we have enough other WR’s that we can negate this loss. We will be short for half a game, in two of our defensive players, but we have more than adequate coverage in those two positions. We will also have them back in the second half, so Florida will not get much rest there. They depend on two fast RB’s that are about 80% of their offense, but if you contain them somewhat on the outside, Florida is in trouble. Their offensive line is not doing real well either. They have a less than stellar QB coming back maybe, but his mobility is not that great and if we keep that pressure up the middle, he gets happy feet and your guess is as good as mine, as to where the ball goes, if he is forced to throw before he is ready. We can cover the middle as we have corrected that problem from the Boise game.
As long as we do not play conservatively on offense, we have the weapons to make them pay for blitzing, and we need to keep the pressure on them the whole game. The majority of these young kids could give a da** less about previous games, because they are out to establish their own identity and legacy, and these kids are ready to go. Nobody expected the DAWGS to have anywhere near the success they have had this year, so this favors them. We have a bunch of athletic and fast players on both sides of the ball. I don’t think our biggest concern is sticking with their fast backs down the field on pass plays. If we keep the pressure up on them and meet them them in their backfield enough, they will not have time to go that far down field. Blitz with a measure of caution, but often enough so that they know, we can and will . Florida can not dink us to death, simply because we have a bunch of speed in our linebackers and contain that to a large extent.
Murray has to be patient and take what the defense gives him and I think they will give him a lot of openings. Run the H*** out of the ball, and make them stop us. Let’s not stop ourselves.
If the OC of UGA has a decent game plan, and doesn’t just settle for protecting a small lead, UGA can win this game easily. If he gets too conservative, he makes it a long day for the players. I would just score and keep scoring if I could and make them stop us. If they can’t stop our offense, I would keep it going with whatever is successful, for the full 60 minutes.
Mushcamp feels the need to bolster his troops up and his fans by guaranteeing a win and if this is his thing, so be it. CMR is being his usual conservative self, and not predicting a victory, and let’s let the players decide who comes home feeling better. The simple fact is UGA has the better team and more skill players so let’s see how these youngsters perform on the big stage. I think they will win the game, as long as Bobo, prepares the offense to play all 60 minutes and not try and protect a small lead, by wearing down the defense. If we didn’t learn anything else from the Vanderbilt game, the lesson should have been that no lead is safe, if half your team shuts down and expects the other half to preserve a win. The defense won the game from beginning to end there, but they spent too much time trying to protect the anemic offensive game plan. If UGA can’t beat them this year, perhaps we need a new OC and let the old one go back to being the QB coach. This game is more about coaching and showing they belong in the game, than it is about the players playing the game. We know we have the athletes, let’s see now if we have the coaches.

i know you love sputing the 3-18 thing but the truth us, all that matters now is

2-8 for Richt

and

0-0 versus Muschamp

If it becomes 2-9 and 0-1, we have a new coaching staff next year.

If it becomes 3-8 and 1-0, all of you gator idiots will want a new staff because that is how you do things down there.

Muschamp is losing control of this team. 2 players have quit and word is a couple more have legal problems. Now do you see why Myer left? This team is a total mess and CMR better capitalize or this will be his last GA/FL.

Personally, I think Muschamp will add to his legacy in this game of shame and dishonor. However this time to the Gators. His stint as a DB for UGA in this game was embarrassing to say the least.

Murray has to keep his nerves about him. UGA’s use of Walsh needs to be kept to a minimum unless the field goal posts are widened six-fold. Bobo should eat some sketchy Chinese food the night before. Ogletree should try to catch up on the stat sheet with his fellow linebackers all in one game. If these things happen, we should be good to go.

I don’t think Muschamp is in “danger” no matter how they finish this year BUT nobody believes that he was meant to be the long term answer at UF.

Was he honesty the best candidate for the job after Foley did an exhaustive search of the country to replace Meyer? Was Zook the best they could possibly hire to replace Spurrier?

This is the exact same thing that Foley did before. Just sacrifice a couple of years, (since things tend to cycle over time anyway), hope things work out not too bad, until the timing is right to hire the “real” guy. If you hire the real guy to follow the uber-successful last guy and he struggles any at all, where do you go from there?

Muschamp is just the guy standing next to the guy. I’m sure he knows that, but understands this was a great opportunity. For his next job.

Well put red and black dawg!!!! KEEP SCORING for 4 quarters, it makes it easier on the defense and takes away UF running the ball.
Make an immediate statement offensively that we WILL be running and gashing the UF defense ALL DAY LONG. It only makes it easier for Murray and the WR’s.
Once again – we should win on paper, its whether we implode and get out-coached, if we lose.

I suppose that ‘Chip’ sees himself as a ‘reporter’ and not a ‘homer’ – after all we’ve already got a ‘homer’ doing ‘his’ thing, never mind that Billy King is about as negative on Richt and Bobo as any of the AJC scribes are – but Chip at least you could have stood up to a sheila. I mean instead of agreeing with her about UF being in Georgia’s head, why not amend that to say ‘well if they are they’ll get that our of their heads just as soon as some of Grantham’s ‘hitmen’ knock a few Florida d*cks off. What this, and any, Georgia team needs is to just pound those guys. Back in the days when Vince was taking teams down there, even when Florida was ranked higher and a prohibitive favorite, just as soon as we hit ‘em in the mouth a few times and they realized we weren’t going away, they resorted to being ‘Florida’ and thinking about ‘the beach and bruskies’. Hell, even when we did that damn end-zone dance, Urban challenged his guys – after all it was early in the first half – to get after us and they wimped out. I’ve been to a lot of those games and one things for sure ain’t no Gators ever gotten in my face and not regretted it. Do it to ‘em before they do it to us.

Having said all that, I wish we had some tougher running backs…then again so does Florida.

Oh, and one more thing, tried to land the ‘FireWill’, or ‘FireMuschamp’, or even ‘FireMuschump’ sites, but it appears that UF fans have beaten me to it. Guess they’re getting ready, just in case.

Florida scores a couple TD’s early, then each team kicks a field goal to finish the first half. Our quarterback could lose the game for us, no matter what everyone else does, but isn’t that always the situation. There’s no help for a lot of interceptions, and fumbles.

Still, I don’t think the quarterback is our major problem. A lot of what makes a quarterback look bad is an inadequate offensive line, and a poor running game.

Do we have the line to open the holes? I’m not sure we do. Do we have a cadre of quick, bruising, sturdy backs to run through holes should holes appear? Maybe not.

Can our line protect the quarterback when he’s passing?

Besides that, our highly suspect special teams better be ready for the plays they’ve seemed oblivious to in recent games. Special teams which are far from special will be exploited, and we can be sure Florida knows it.

Our coaches can lose the game for us too. That’s been amply demonstrated. Will they suddenly figure out how to call plays better than my dead grandmother? Will they manage the clock? Will they stand on the sidelines, and admire their haircut on the television screen?

Are there any signs that we have learned to use our big ends effectively? Do we even have a fullback? Can we do anything sensible on third and whatever? Can our pass receivers and quarterback agree on how deep the pass will be?

Does the fact that we’ve beat a few team who haven’t beaten anybody else tell us anything about our team? Do Florida’s losses to the best two teams in college football tell us much? We should know that neither Florida nor Georgia are in the LSU/Alabama league, but are we both just barely better than Kentucky?

There are a lot of unanswered questions on the Georgia side, and an excessive optimism born of thinking this is a crummy Florida team, so we “should” beat them. Pathetic! How ’bout “we can beat anybody, so bring on the best.”

This may be a relatively crummy Florida team. They still may be a lot a better than their record appears. I hope Florida plays “a complete game,” and plays their very best, and really brings it to the Bulldogs.

Yes, I want us to win, and I want us to win against the best Florida can offer, because otherwise we prove nothing to ourselves.

I think we can beat Florida, and I hope we do, but I wouldn’t bet on it.

Go, Georgia Bulldogs!

UGA wins, if Bobo calls a game that isn’t conservative and filled with runs up the middle and long, low percentage completion passes. UGA has a bunch of young athletes, that are trying to start a legacy for UGA and they can play ball and are improving each week. Our Red Zone problems are the direct result of our offensive play calling that occurs inside the 20 yard line. We try and insure to call plays that are low risk, low yardage gainers with the mindset of preserving the chance for a field goal. Utilize that big old FB we have. I am sure he could move a pile a little at 270 pounds. No we don’t have big bruiser backs, but we do have one fast young man, who can get around the ends and juke and out speed a lot of the LB’s teams have. Why send him up the middle? Our Ol does a sufficient job of run blocking, but appear to be too slow at present to pass block really effectively. It appears though, that our OC hasn’t figured that out yet. I would think, going for high probability shorter passes, would do a better job.
Our DL should give the Florida OL a headache all day long, and Brantley’s not a real threat to run, even before his high ankle sprain. We will need to contain the two fast backs they have, but we have the LB’s to do the job. The big key is UGA’s DL mostly, because if they keep the pressure up, Florida will most likely have to resort to running the ball a lot. Force them to go outside and let our big, fast LB’s do their job.
I would like to see our FB get the ball a few times a game also. I do not understand why Bobo doesn’t utilize that asset anymore than he usually does. Maybe he can only get 3-4 yards a carry, but if nothing else, he will wear down the defense. Big backs manage to do that when they are utilized correctly. Remember Ron Dane and Earl Campbell, just to mention a few. We need to make the TE’s a bigger part of the offense also. We did that in the Vandy game, but it needs to be done every game. You can’t have enough offensive options or weapons, unless you fail to utilize them.
Let’s face it though. The game will come down to the play calling and Bobo has got to get away from being conservative and go for the kill, when he has a lead, not try and leave it up to the defense to protect that lead. When you have a team reeling, go for the kill as often as you can. Especially, when it is against your biggest rival. Take away the Jacksonville advantage, and shut down their crowd. In other words, just beat the snot out of them today DAWGS.

GO DAWGS and GATA
