There is no parking left down by The Landing……..its all been gone since Monday. You would need to park by the new WalMart out I-10 and take the shuttle. We also ate all of the oysters on Jekyll this afternoon, but a 20 ton load is expected tomorrow from Apalach.

3 Keys to a UGA Win:

I’ve looked over the UF-UGA match up going back last 10 games. Looked at 100 different variables like turnovers, penalties, etc. 3 keys were found.

1- In our 9 losses in the depressing “Aaron Murray Era”, which many now call “The Athens Great Depression”, Murray throws at least 27 passes. One key is to limit Interception Machine’s touches to 20 passes, only 5 per quarter.

2- In Richt’s 10 UF-UGA games, he is 2-8. The 2 wins, he had a 100 yards rusher, the 8 losses he didn’t. So Crowell must get 100 yards rushing to get a win. This means at least 20 carries. But Crowell needs more touches than Murray to win the game. You put the ball in the hands of playmakers, who protect the football.

3- In 8 out 10 games, the team wins who’s tight end has more yards. So Charles has to show up and dominate. Murray has to FINALLY figure out how to get the ball to Charles. Aron White needs to make some plays when his number is called.

Smitty, with Richt’s pass happy offense don’t look for number one. The more I see Crowell, the more I see a pure “me” guy. I don’t think he’s mentally tough enough to “tote the rock”. Maybe if it’s not a real physical game he might survive. He wouldn’t last fifteen minutes vs LSU.

From:
http://rivals.yahoo.com/ncaa/football/news?slug=ap-t25-georgia-murraysmission...

Florida defensive end Sharrif Floyd said he’s not impressed with a Bulldogs offense led by Murray and freshman tailback Isaiah Crowell.

“We’re obviously focusing on Georgia, but it’s not really just him we’re looking at,” Floyd said of Murray. “It’s the running back and him. But I really didn’t see nothing outstanding.”

We all know that The SEC was DOWN in 2002, with only 1 other SEC team ending up ranked in the Coaches’ Poll Top 25 and that a 4-Loss Auburn 2002.

We all know that 2005 found that Georgia ended up # 3 of just The SEC teams in the polls.

Florida has their worst football team in 24 years. Time to do something about ALL of this.

LSU and AL showed how you beat FL. Other than knocking Brantly out of the game both Saban and Miles dominated FL w/defense. They smothered their running game and didn’t allow the FL to sit in the pocket or run. Not taking anything away from AL or LSU offense it was the D that that held FL almost scoreless.

Tampadawg. I doubt GA’s D can do what AL or LSU did on D to FL. I’ll be a believer when I see it happen. Just hoping the D can do enough while Bobo and the offense don’t turn the ball over, run the ball and score more points than FL does.

With one exception, GA’s wins thus far does not build confidence but rather the opposite when they take the field. You never know what you’re goiong to get.

azdawg……

Before Brantley got hurt at the end of the first half against Bama…..Florida was going up and down the field against the Tide. A pass int and a sack the hurt Brantley kept that game from being tied at the half. What Bama and LSU did against Florida to win the game was……RUN THE BALL DOWN THEIR THROATS. I don’t think Georgia has the same kind of OL and RBs that Bama and LSU has. But we will see. I am sure Georgia is going to come out and run the ball to try and set up a couple of deep throws. With Demps and Brantley coming back, Georgia will now have to defend real speed on both edges (Rainey and Demps in the backfield). Neither Bama or LSU faced that issue because Demps got injured early in the Bama game.

With Florida run buy a head coach that is unproven and appears way above his head and kind or dorky looking, and led on offense buy a 400 pound pig that even gastric bypass surgery hasn’t help to curb his 3rd and 4th plates at the Golden Coral, look for Georgia to dominate this series for at least the next few years until Florida gets another Meyer or Spurrier to take the reigns to take advantage of the abundance of in-state talent.

Alabama did cripple Florida’s offense by injuring Demps and Brantley, but the outcome would have been the same either way. Florida burned Bama with the long TD pass to start the game. After that, they never threatened to sniff the end-zone again. Alabama’s defense is impressive. That said, they also have the best offense in the conference. It’s just as well that Georgia won’t face them this year.

Murray has been quoted as saying he wants another shot at Florida after all the turn over’s last year , that he learned something. My question is wasn’t the South Carolina game the mirror image of last years Florida’s game. He didn’t learn much.
Murray is the key in this game and how much pressure Robinson, Ogletree, and Jones can put on Brantley. Usually our field goal kicker would be important but Walsh has been so unreliable with must kick’s I hope we don’t even use him except for kick off’s.

The shoe is on the other foot (uga). The two speedy back at fla are coming off injuries, they will have rust just like Brantley. The are great players but you never at your best with a injury mind set, UGA “D” is no joke 8th overall in total “D” nation wide. Do you really think they will lay down, quit, I don’t think so. If the UGA “O” stumbles the “D” will prevell. UGA 35 FLA 10

Richt usually does not lie about his players and their availability. Mitchell re-injured his hamstring on Monday and he is being considered to be left in Athens, much less play in the game.

I’m hoping Marlon Brown can step up.

I’m also hoping we can sack Brantley a few times and get in his head. It sure won’t help his physical condition either.

There are just a lot of negatives for us and positives for them. Not to mention 2-8 including 2002,2003,2005 where we should have won.
