ATHENS — Georgia coach Mark Richt is looking forward to a rare opportunity to spend some time with his oldest sons this week.

Jon Richt
As the Bulldogs enjoy their first off weekend since preseason camp opened on August 2, Richt plans on attending his son Jon’s game for Mars Hill College on Saturday afternoon. Jon Richt, 21, is a junior quarterback for the Lions (6-1, 4-0 South Atlantic), who are playing Lenoir-Rhyne (3-3, 2-1) in an important conference game. Mars Hill is ranked No. 24 in Division II.
“It’s a big deal,” Richt said. “Right now Mars Hill is undefeated in league play, which is big. And Jon is doing well.”
Jon, who began his career at Clemson, has passed for 1,514 yards with 16 touchdowns as the Lions’ starting quarterback.
Richt’s second-oldest son, David, also will be performing this weekend. David sings and plays keyboards and piano in several Christian rock bands. On Sunday evening at 6 p.m., he will be one of the musicians performing in the “Jan Smith Student Showcase” at the famous music venue Eddie’s Attic in Decatur. General admission is $13 or $25 with a meal combo and proceeds will benefit the Melissa Carter Transplant Fund.

David Richt on the cover of his CD debut.
“He’s in a couple of praise bands,” Richt said of David, 16, a junior at Prince Avenue Christian School. “In this one in particular, he’ll be playing the piano and keyboards and be singing. He does some of that. So I’m looking forward to that.”
Mark and Katharyn Richt have two other younger children, Zach, who is 15, and Anya, 14.
Meanwhile, most of the Bulldogs’ players are getting out of town and heading to their respective homes for the weekend.
Richt said he felt like Georgia’s open date was coming at just the right time. The Bulldogs (5-2, 4-1 SEC) play Florida on Oct. 29 in Jacksonville.
“We all needed it,” Richt said. “You’ve got camp, then you have seven straight games. I think everybody was tired. I think everybody was maybe a little cranky. I don’t know, it may have added to what happened at the end of the [Vanderbilt] game, quite frankly. If you’re a little sleep deprived or worn out and beat up and tired and all that kind of stuff, sometimes that can affect you. So I do think it was a very good time for a break, physically and mentally.”

I’m not a big Mark Richt fan as a coach, but I’m a big fan of his as a person. I’m glad he gets to spend some time with his family this weekend. Your kids are only young for a little while.

My wife attended Mars Hill. Someone did an intervention after two years and took her to see Hendrix in Durham.
She’s fine now. Graduate of what was the Women’s College in Milledgeville, in art, and actually works to this day as an illustrator. We can still see that which is divine that underlies this all, we just aren’t in any way cultish or outward about it. Anonymity here provides the exception.

Jan Smith was my vocal coach back in the late 80’s, early 90’s as my band Masada tore up the ATL and the eastern half of the US as one of the best rising hair bands of the time. We almost signed a record deal with Atlantic Records (A&R guy for Skid Row) but it didn’t materialize because the Gulf War and the uncertain economy stifled allotment of funds for signing new acts and we were second runner up.
Hi Jan, nice to see that you are still going strong and following your passion, in case you happen to read this.
It’s good to see Coach Richt getting to spend quality time with his family. It puts the priorities in perspective.
Lets get ready for Jax, Dawgs are due to put together a complete game and I feel like this could be the game. Much needed bye week, defense is going to GATA! Offense has got to keep pace and get 6’s instead of 3’s.
Go Dawgs!

@just a fan……You sir are a Richt butt kissing MORON. I’m like everyone else, Richt is a heckuva guy. Glad he’s around. I was just making a point about the money. But i guess there are fans like you who are willing to settle for mediocrity and kiss Richts butt. The rest of us see the potential our team could have with the talent that comes in and leaves every year. I also think that this team is really on the verge of doing something great this year, but our staff keeps hamstringing them. And I dont like the way the family man through Grantham and Williams under the bus after the game the other night. He should have taken up for everybody. And he is missing an opportunity to unite the team and fanbase by not publicly denouncing those suspensions. He could do it in a way that would not get him in trouble with the SEC. I cant believe Richt didnt call Franklin out on his guys sportsmanship. Maybe during this family time, Richt will do some soul searching and comeback ready to whip some gator tails.

Maybe he needs to spend the weekend learning how to coach. With “chop gate” that everyone’s talking about this week, I have one simple coaching question that everyone has seemed to ignore.
UGA has the ball on 4th down at their own 45 w/ the clock ticking down under 20 seconds. At this point you know youre going to have to punt, but WHY call at time out at 15 seconds? I know it’s done so a ‘delay of game’ penalty won’t be called, causing you 5 yards, but at that point what’s more important; 5 yards or trying to drain EVERY second off the clock?
When they called that time out I was besides myself. Why give Vandy an extra second?? Turns out that after their first incompletion they had HOW much time remaining?? ONE second. If they had not called that time out Vandy wouldn’t have had time for their last play, which turned up being short anyway, but still.
Just bad coaching I think. I’ve never coached and only played in HS so can someone tell me if I’m way offbase here?

It seems that you fellows have taken this column the wrong way. This is a warm and friendly human interest story. It’s not meant to invoke a critique of the football program, but to help you empathize with Coach Richt as a regular guy – just like you or I. This is just the sort of positive, feel-good reporting that many on the blog have been calling for recently. You should all just take it in and enjoy it.

While people complain about Richt’s plans, the fact is he is a great coach and this is an off week(end). I hope he enjoys himself and come back fresh for the second half of the season.
As for his pay, if you want it go compete for it. He did, and he got it. Your sitting on your couch complaining isn’t doing anyone any good unless it make you feel better about your miserable life.
There are 12 teams (soon to be 1 or 2 more) in the SEC and most expect to compete for the SEC title. In ten years Richt has two and is disappointed he doesn’t have more. Thank god we don’t have a belly acher like Franklin. The story on Richt has a lot more games to be played, and I am looking forward to supporting him and the dawgs.

BTW, I don’t kiss anybody’s butt, but I just think it is crazy that some of you fans think that you know what is best for this program. Did you not get enough hugs when you were a kid ? Virginia is not ranked in the BCS Top 25. Virginia had an off-week. Virginia beat “the # 12 team in America.” That is the only ranked team Virginia has beat in years. What do we do when we have an off-week ?

Have a great weekend with the family Coach!!! I will be rooting for Jon and David both. They are a class family with great values and will have words with anyone else who doesn’t think so. He has his priorities in order unlike most people in our society.
This is a great story about just a regular guy who I am proud to have as a coach at UGA. Even Saban doesn’t win them all…give Richt an extension and I would put money he will win a NC in the next three to four years. I think he wants it. We definitely need about 26 commits though this next class. We got to be the Gators for that leg up in Jax next Saturday.

(1) “argue with someone with a predetermined agenda.”
(2) “Some of us on thes blogs will however speak for the overwhelming majority that’s not on these blogs.”
(3) “And no, you do not have to be a graduate of a particualr school in order to be a fan.”
(4) “Some complaints are warranted”
(5) “If you support the current team, you’re a kool-aide drinker.”
(6) “It has nothing to do with WHO the current coach is. It has to do with the fact that we are loyal to the team.”
(7) “If I was Richt, I would do my best to get this team back to its former successes”
(8) “Maybe the next staff will come in and beat every ranked team that they play”
(9) “Some of you complain that the team attrition rate is extremely high”
(10) “I agree, there’s a lot to be concerned about or maybe upset”
(11) “Ultimately, it comes back to THE COACHING STAFF. If the coaching staff is respoinsible for losses, then they are responsible for wins as well. You can’t have it both ways. What was our record after 7 games last year? It was 3-4. We ended up losing 4 SEC games last year. In order for that to happen this year, we would have to lose our last 3 SEC games this year.”
(12) I can tell you this: if you complain at your job about management the way you do on these blogs and upper management is not in agreement with your complaints; I guarantee you that you will be the first to go.
__________________________________________________
(12) Well, I’ve worked here 19 years. (1) DISNEYdawgs.com do not post here with a pre-determined agenda ? Get real. That is all they do, sir. (2) Some small vocal minority come on here and disregard all the posts about how mad the fanbase is at Mark Richt. If you read a few more of your own comments coming up in this post, you will find you are 1. They each are too. Don’t let their lies and front they put up fool you. None of the rest of us do. We haven’t done anything here at UGA in years. 2005 was Seven seasons ago and even then we ended up # 3 best team in The SEC in all the polls. DISNEYdawgs.com don’t speak for the overwhelming majority of the fans who are not on these blogs; they come in here to pick on anyone who is bold enough to recognize, as you yourself too sir, that this program is moribund. Instead of facing any – not cut and paste – but updated won/lost record compared to the rest of the programs and players run off from our program, they attack the person. Why is that ? Because they, like yourself, feel you are a better fan than I. A fan is a great fan if the fan wants what is best. If there is a predetermined agenda that a front must be put up, then the retorts will be along those lines, instead of soul-searching the areas and there are many where this program obviously is suffering, and why our won/lost is not where it should be. You mention beating the top 10 teams – well, yeah, that’s one area. You mention the players – JUST GONE. (3) No it is not a requirement to be a fan that you went to school with me at my school. Heck, I went to UGA because I wanted to, and because I could. Kennesaw State is a fine school. Fortunate if the fan did go there, right ? Let’s face it there is a privileged class that got to go to college when I was young. Fans are fans. You do not have to have gone to UGA to be a fan; where do you get this point from anyway ? I have many UGA fans who go to the games with me, sit beside me, drive me to the games, or I drive them who do not attend UGA. I have fans who did who do too. It’s fun and we share the common bond. We are all UGA fans no matter our background. Oh, I forget. Except for me. Keep telling yourself that. Keep ignoring all your own points sir. They are the same points I make. I do make points, don’t I ? (5) I did not ever say that if you support the team, you are a Kool-Aid drinker – what I have said, say and do say is that if you run on these blogs and say we are GREAT WILL WIN THE NC next season, that our QB is the best QB in The Entire SEC, that our head coach is the # 4 best coach in all of America, then yes, those statements are Kool-Aid drinking, DISNEYdawgs.com statements that make the poster feel bravado about his posts. So, too, sir are posts that you are a better fan than I because you say the same exact points as I do, only you believe only you are allowed to point out to the world that – well, just maybe we have fundamental issues that year after year remain the exact same with more platitudes about not having any DISCIPLINE. (6) I you trying to tell little ole me that in my 25 years posting on the Internet at this very site sir that there are not a load of posters who just simply are Mark Richt fans ? He is a great guy. He has all the values of this entire South. He makes 3 million 500 thousand dollars annually in total compensation. Hang all that. I want to win. I want to beat good teams. I want to not lose to 17 teams in his 11 years who would not be ranked without their win over us that season. Don’t even try to tell me that there are not just simply Mark Richt fans. What he did this previous weekend is a perfect example. If you cannot bring yourself to say that Mark Richt obviously admitted that he cursed when he called Shawn Williams ” He’s a DUMB*** ” then what are you ? You are going to try to tell me that he said instead Dumb Answer ? Well, then why did he apologize for cursing ? Dumb Answer is not curse words. Further, there is no precedent for Dumb Answer. No story saying that. This site, however, put up their conversation and put it up there as DUMB***. Libel from the AJ-C on this ? Well, where is Mark Richt’s indignation ? His correction ? Look, we have fans who are Mark Richt fans. They run on here with their LOAD of EXCUSES. They say whatever he says. He lies. He is not the # 4 best coach in all of America; and I would believe a man as yourself would stand up and say, uh, no he is not. He knocked the lid off this # 11 all-time 1-A win program beating # 4 vols in 2001 ? Or, he LOST 4 games 2001 and beat the # 4 vols ? Which is it ? (7) Pardon me if you were Mark Richt you would GET US BACK TO OUR FORMER SUCCESSES ? What, just what pray tell, do you think I have been trying to tell you for all these years on here MarineDog ? We are NOT doing well. You say that yourself. Now, don’t you ? So, that leaves us with the only issue you have is that I went to UGA; I did very well at UGA; I graduated UGA; I am a season ticket holder at UGA; I go to away games, bowl games, JAX as UGA fan; I follow all our sports at UGA; I lettered in 4 myself which is why I walked on here; and oh, by the way, I happen to DREAM more than being # 6 ranked recruiting class in football this season. You think in the 34 years since I graduated, and my Dad had season tickets before I ever started at UGA, that I have seen good UGA football games ? Do you think ? Is it possible I might have studied first hand a well-coached team or 2 ? First Georgia Dome SEC Championship I was there with Dad. Alabama, not us. I have seen many huge big games. We are not in this big huge games, us a great team who has beat great teams that season and they our opponent another great team who has beat great teams that season, and us squaring off on the national stage. We don’t do that, now. You said it, not I. Only now I come and I say it too. The problem ? I said it. Would you prefer I just take your words and put your words up when you say the exact same point I make ? I am sorry if I have a way with words. It is my profession. (8) Beat EVERY ranked team they play ? Pardon me sir, we have played 13 games vs teams who finished top 10 and won 3. The 3 years we did, we lost 4 games, 3 games and 4 games. If it is allright with you and if it is not allright with you, I would hope that just 1 year when we are considered good to have beat 1 team that ends up in the top 10. EVERY. Hyperbole. Called out for it, aren’t you ? You don’t make your point and I do make mine. Get over it. (9) That’s my point sir. Of the 3 who went to the NFL, 1 flunked out and is on the Taxi squad and the other 2 are NFL. My list has 31. Sorry if it offends you that it is 31. It varies from week to week. Pardon me if I update it. The point remains the same. We have 31 missing from kick-off that this coaching staff was heralded for bringing here, Scholarship Recruits, who will not line-up at kick-off, who could have – couldn’t they ? I could leave off the 3 that went to NFL. Why would I do that, when Caleb Darnell King is 1 of the 3 ? Get over it. (10) “I agree, there’s a lot to be concerned about or maybe upset” (11) Now, we compare having a season such as you and I actually are communicating about MarineDog here with this year compared to last year when last year you have to go all the way back to 1953 to find a season where we lost more games. You see ? These are my points sir.
Here are the areas where we agree :
(3) All fans are great, even those whom we disagree with. Some have the interest of the school maybe more in our hearts and some more Mark Richt.
(4) “Some complaints are warranted”
(7) “If I was Richt, I would do my best to get this team back to its former successes”
(9) “Some of you complain that the team attrition rate is extremely high”
(10) “I agree, there’s a lot to be concerned about or maybe upset”
(11) “Ultimately, it comes back to THE COACHING STAFF. If the coaching staff is respoinsible for losses” Thanks a lot, sir, MarineDog

Interesting conglomeration of comments. I guess like all coaches Richt is loved and hated. I would have a hard time disliking this man if I met him personally because I know of his commitment to God and family. I struggle with his leadership sometimes though as a HC. The truth is that he raised the bar ay GA from mediocre to champion. Bad bumps in the road have taken us back down a notch. This season still provides a chance to rachet back up. Let’s get behind Richt and the team and win out! Go Dawgs!

Coach Richt called the timeout at the exact moment the clock ran down. A delay of game penalty wouldn’t have meant an extra second ticked off. That would have given Vandy the ball 5 yards closer to the goal line. Regardless of what you think of the man, I think he deserves next year. That is the year we are looking at. Without all the bad breaks, this would have been a good year. Who could have foreseen all the injuries, transfers, ineligibles? Give him next year. If no improvement, I’ll change sides and vote to have him gone myself. As for now, he deserves next year.

Sure would be nice to win the Flawduh game.
Let’s try not to send everybody on the team to the end zone if we score a TD from the red zone.
Let’s try not to do any trash talking.
Let’s not wear any stupid looking uniforms.
Let’s use our time outs wisely.
Let’s run our heavyweight backs up the middle, given the choice.
Let’s run our lightweight backs to the corners, given the choice.
Let’s not play anybody who is too damn special to block for a teammate trying to run or throw the ball.
Let’s win without any drama.
Let’s win with rock solid discipline.
And then, let’s just get the hell out of Dodge. Because so far, you haven’t played a complete game. Because so far, you haven’t coached a complete game. There are five games left. Y’all ain’t got no reason to swagger…None of you.
P.S. Stay the hell out of trouble, and be respectful to your friends and family. Try studying.

Hey sport, at one time Richt was one of the top coaches in America. But his unwillingness to change with the times is costing him and the team. And I dont have to read articles to know that over the past 3-4 years our program has taken a nose dive. With Granthams help on defense, our team is showing signs of improvement. Maybe we will get back to where we were in the early 2000’s. You mentioned things going on behind the scenes. Everything that is happening ‘behind the scenes’ has been done on Richts watch. It isnt like we can blame a former coach for it. Richt recruited all of these players. He hired and wont fire any of this staff. Do you really think this guy is going to get us competing with the Bama’s and Lsu’s of the world???? A great coach (Saban and Miles) would have us reloading every year rather than constantly having to rebuild. And there’s the difference between the dawgs and the other powerhouses. But yes, i’m glad Richt is being able to spend time with his family. I really am.

Also, I agree with most of what Thomas Brown writes. Good job TB!

We are in agreement, sir. One problem that Richt inherited and wont seem to correct is the O line nad D lines. Donnan had our O line in a cycle where they were all pretty much in the same class or one year a part. He never recruited many linemen until the year before our seniors were graduating. So we always seem to have a bunch of young or old linemen. And Richt has kept it going. The years that we are decent, our line is mature. But when they leave, it takes us another few years before a new class matures. Bama and Lsu have dominating lines every year. They dont have the Matt Staffords of the world, they have kick as.s lines. And Richt doesnt seem to get that.

Recharge your personal life’s battery, come back Sunday safe and sound, and have a legally uneventful weekend!
Then, put the events surrounding the Vandy game behind you, and begin focusing on the upcoming GA / FL game.
Hope both UGA and UF can heal up and stay injury-free in practice; our best against their best is what I want to see, and a UGA win!
Good luck, UGA, this weekend against UF. Beat the Gators! ..

Two roads diverged in a yellow wood
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;
Then took the other, as just as fair
And having perhaps the better claim,
Because it was grassy and wanted wear;
Though as for that, the passing there
Had worn them really about the same,
And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way,
I doubted if I should ever come back.
I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood and I -
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.

I love having good kids that are players, and I love having good men coaching. But, sooner or later we simply need good players and good coaching. I like Richt personally, but he has done less with more talent than anyone in the history of college football…and that is not an exagerration. Red Dog may indeed accept a few 10 win seasons and an Outback Bowl as good enough for him, but do not expect me to do the same. I’m not in this for Outback Bowls. $3.5 million, people…3.5 million.

I don’t accept a few 9 win seasons, either.
Of course, you are right that we need good coaching, good players and we need to quit being satisfied with in 14-game seasons for the top teams, us having 9 wins a season. 9 wins a season is way passé in 2011, isn’t it ?
Florida has no quarterback. Florida has zero offense. Florida gets zero pressure on opposing quarterbacks, and Florida does not return punts well. Florida does not intercept passes and Florida does not get fumbles when they are there to be had. Florida does have a defense. Florida is better against the pass than against the rush. Florida’s offense is miserable. Florida’s offense fumbles and throws interceptions. Florida has a fiery coach on the sidelines, who prefers that Florida continue to play the game in JAX. Duh. If I were a Florida person, so would I. Gives them an extra home game with all the tickets not designated for UGA going to Florida, which includes the number allotted to Florida and ALL the local tickets including all sky boxes. It is where the Gator Bowl is played. I have no problem admitting that we are unable to beat Florida, them with an off-week before EVERY WLOCP, and us showing up half a day before kick-off trying to acclimate to the differences in weather. The last several nights here have been 38 degrees. It will be nearly 90 at kick-off. We have been playing around, going swimming, watching high school football games and doing everything except taking any team on our schedule seriously. Why should we ? There is not 1 good win by 1 opponent on our schedule.
Auburn beat South Carolina. That is the only win by anyone on our schedule all season long.
With the teams losing who are BCS Top 25, we will back into the BCS Standings today. Georgia tek will drop out. Washington will drop out. Auburn will drop out. Truth be told, both Georgia and South Carolina have 2 of the easiest schedules in the nation. Today’s events just made that all the more abundantly clear.
Choke-la-homa. Ha ha ha. What are they going to try to tell us now that the Big 10 has some great team with Wisconsin losing too ? I don’t think so. And, the PAC-10 is it PAC-12 yet ? The PAC-10 is trying to say how great Oregon is. Only 1 problem with that, they lost by 2 Touchdowns to LSU. Oh, Stanford is great ? Really ? Like us, and everyone on our schedule all season long, Stanford has not played anyone who has beat anybody.
Illinois lost. So, on an off-week UGA backs into the BCS Top 19 or so. Without a single team on our entire schedule who has beat anyone.
This is all so sad. Had we not given away the game to South Carolina, that loser program would not even be in the Top 25.
How much fun is this again this season watching all these teams ahead of us ALL LOSING and us backing into the BCS Top 25, not even playing 1 team all season long who has beat anyone ? All because we GAVE AWAY the South Carolina game. Gave it away. Thank you Aaron Murray.
Did I say that I was not satisfied that Mark Richt called his own Scholarship Recruit, a DUMB*** ?

Hit A Single, me too. But I am a die-hard Dawg fan, and have been since a kid in the early 70’s, jump started by my UGA-alum dad. He had a class with Tarkington and Jimmy Orr, both future NFL legends.
Being a Dawg fan does not require a blind love of the head coach. Just because I desperately pull for UGA (and Richt) to win every game, doesn’t mean I have to like Richt. I for sure don’t hate him, but I happen to think something is wrong when UGA has had the #2 football program in the nation in recruiting in the last decade (Scout.com).All of that talent, yet since ‘05 have failed to win even the SEC East.
Even when you look back to ‘07 and the players from that team who are thriving in the NFL, how on earth did Richt manage to lose to two inferior teams (SC and UT)?
Do you have NO doubts about his ability?

UF is down but has some talent.
UGA is down but has more talent.
The Dawgs are capable of beating The Gators but we always seem to blow it even when a gift is given to us (Garcia couldn’t have handed the SC Game to us on a bigger silver platter and we blew it).
I’m not as impressed with Muschamp as I thought I would be but it’s still very, very early for this new HC to be judged.
This may be one of the few times Bobo can outsmart a D playcaller (well, maybe).
Weiss is a good OC and with better talent his O would be in the hunt for The SEC East – but not this season.
Everything points to a Dawgs win in this Annual Florida Home Game but I just get the sense our Dawgs will lose it by 7.
I’ve been wrong several times this season (I though MSU & UT would beat us) but never so happy to have been in error. I hope I’m wrong this time too. The Dawgs have the talent to beat UF but I don’t think they will.

Thomas Brown, glad to see you decided to break things up with a few paragraphs. Your stuff would be better still with even shorter paragraphs; reading on the computer is a lot easier if no paragraph is longer than 3 or 4 lines.
Yesterday’s games across the nation were very interesting. For one thing, it was obvious that a team playing up to the level of its competition, and its ability, has a decent chance of beating any team. Texas Tech proved that.
Did Oklahoma play down to the level of its competition? Especially, did it play down to what it perceived the level of competition to be, thus being badly fooled? Perhaps. At any rate, the old adage of any team being able to beat any other team showed its merit.
It was fun watching a game without signs of bad sportsmanship, where both teams played the entire game, and where both teams could be proud of the effort they made and the way they represented the game and their school. I’m speaking of the MSU vs Wisconsin game, which was a real classic.
As we head into the annual reminder of Jacksonville’s geographical location being a lot closer to Gainesville than Athens, I wonder what the perception of our coaches and our players is, and I wonder if our players will represent UGA well, and I wonder if we’ll play a complete game.
Do we think playing the Florida Gators means we should play up to a higher level or play down to a lower level? How do the Gators see the Dawgs in that respect?
If we think the Gators are going to easy for us to beat, I’m afraid we may have another thing coming. True, the Gators are not looking like a good team. We’re not either! Will the Dawgs remember that we barely escaped losses to several teams which were probably not as likely to beat us as the Gators are?
Our coaches and players may be beat up, and they may need some rest, and enjoy a bit of relaxation, but they sure don’t deserve any.
My guess – knowing our coaches and our team – is the UGA football program is busy beating its chest, and strutting about, and feeling confident, forgetting that the historical odds favor Georgia finding a way to lose to Florida.

“The Dawgs have the talent to beat UF but I don’t think they will.”
**************************************
FLA DAWG, when have the Dawgs NOT had the talent to beat UF?
I think UGA had more talent in ‘02, ‘03, ‘04, ‘05, ‘07, ‘10.
UF had more talent in ‘06, ‘09.
Equal talent in ‘01,’08.
So, Richt has gone 1-7 vs UF when the two teams had equal talent, or UGA had the the most talent.
Anyway, that’s my opinion.

According to ESPN, Georgia recently surpassed California as the third most talent rich football state in the nation behind Florida and Texas. Yet, we are 19-14 dating back to the beginning of the 2009 season and have beat only one ranked team during that time. It just defies logic how absolutely pizz poor the past few years have been for UGA football. We should not be struggling like this. Something is severely wrong.
I just wanted to throw that out there. I’m not naming any names or calling for anyone to get fired. Those are just the facts.
Thanks.

Looks like LSU will play in the BCS game. They seem like they are destined with all their off the field problems. Seems like that is the type of programs that play in the game. It should be called the Bowl Corruption Series Championship Game.

Anybody still wish we had Mullen or Muschamp? Not me. We have the classiest coach in the SEC, and a group of young players on their way to dominating. His leadership is seen in their growth already. A couple more years with Mitchell, Bennett, Drew, Rome, and Crowell?!! GO DAWGS !
