In the latest twist in the story of the post-game skirmish at Vanderbilt, Nashville television station WSMV has posted a video showing part of a brief on-field discussion between Vandy coach James Franklin and Georgia’s Mark Richt.
This encounter came after the angry confrontation between Franklin and Georgia defensive coordinator Todd Grantham.
In the video, Franklin explains to Richt his view of what triggered the post-game fracas, saying victorious Georgia was “rubbing our face in it right after the game. And then your coach, when I tell him about it, then he goes after me and the fight starts.”
“That’s what I thought happened,” Richt replied. “I apologize.”
You can see the video here.
And here’s a story on other developments, including the ongoing SEC review of the incident and Monday’s comments from Grantham, Franklin and Georgia athletic director Greg McGarity.
