A few quick items . . .
Whether the game will air on ESPN, ESPN2 or ESPNU won’t be determined until after this week’s action. But in any case the 7 p.m. start at Neyland Stadium is firm, according to the SEC.
It will be UGA’s first night kickoff since the season opener against Boise State in the Georgia Dome.
Two other SEC games also are scheduled for 7 p.m. starts on Oct. 8 – Vanderbilt at Alabama and Auburn at Arkansas. Those games, plus Georgia-Tennessee, will be divvied up among the ESPN networks.
Crowell, who shared the honor with Kentucky running back Josh Clemons two weeks ago, claimed it outright this week for his performance at Ole Miss.
Crowell had season highs in carries (30) and yards (147) in Georgia’s 27-13 victory Saturday. His 30 carries were the most by a Georgia player since Knowshon Moreno’s 33 against Florida in 2007.
Averaging 102.8 yards rushing per game, Crowell ranks No. 2 in the nation among freshmen, behind only Bowling Green’s Anthon Samuel (107 yards rushing per game).
Crowell has surpassed 100 yards rushing in both of his SEC games.
Rambo had two interceptions against the Rebels, giving him four in the three games he has played this season — more picks than any Georgia player had in all of last season. Rambo leads the NCAA in interceptions per game (1.33).

I believe O-line play and special teams are the weaknesses of this team right now.

kerryb…yeah I agree that if your O-line plays better, then you will improve. Well, you HAVE to get your special teams fixed as well.

Joe, we’ve only played 4 games so far. I wish everyone would quit talking about that loser Washaun Ealey. Glad he’s gone and I don’t care how many TD’s he scored. Could have scored more if he held onto the ball.

Crowell has a low TD performance due to Bobo going to the concession stand everytime we get to the redzone

It would also help in the players were more focused on executing the plays as opposed to jumping and wanting to tell everybody how great they are.

Ealey averaged 5.7 ypc his freshman season, Moreno too.
Crowell’s ok, he’s like 5.3 ypc.
Not Ealey league, or even Moreno’s, but he’s a decent back.

Yes UGa fans will turn their backs on you if you if you get arrested after the coach told you not to drive (which is pretty selfish and stupid) and fumble the ball twice inside the 5 yard line.

Malcome isn’t SEC material and the coaches won’t admit it. He has been hurt since his high school jr season, and this is the excuse the coaches are using. Truth is he was just a knee-jerk signing with Mack Brown going to UF. Cut him lose and free up a scholly for someone who wants to contribute.

kerryb….ha ha…I heard a ton of UGA fans saying that his driving arrest was unfair and that the Athens police were just out to get him and the other players. The reason that fans turned on him was the fumbles. Case closed.

Agree guys, perhaps the ENTIRE corp of RB’s can equal Ealey’s 11 rushing touchdowns last year.
Ealey doubled Crowell’s td per carry average so far.
Ealey also averaged more ypc than Crowell his frosh year (5.7 ypc). Crowell’s not as strong as Ealey.
I think a lot of people thought Crowell would have breakaway speed but he hasn’t yet scored a long td. Ealey had a 44 yard td last year.

Rooster, Crowell has exactly one fumble. 1. Ealey was a discipline problem at UGA, didn’t show up for disciplinary meetings etc. He’s a talented player and I’m glad he’s productive at Jacksonville State.

My comment : Who cares about Ealey? He plays for a nothing team against nothing competition – he’s done – stick a fork in him. Crowell has shown more guts and talent in his first 4 games than Ealey ever showed at UGA. By next year no one will remember Ealey (nobody really remembers him now). He took a step back, a step down and a way out. Good luck to him – he could not play with the big boys. At best he will be a big fish in a small pond. What is there to talk about here?

I’ll have to agree with one poster earlier today talking about Murray

As a UGA fan I expect our QB to win big games….he simply has not done that…………………………name a top 15 team he has beat…….I hope he runs the table and wins the Heisman…hope he becomes an all American………..ain’t gonna happen till he beats the ranked teams that matter……..has not done it when it mattered……i think he is a good QB but the fact of the matter is he has not got it done when it mattered….look at Fla last year…look as SC this year….at this point he has not been a big game QB…..seems to get nervous and make bad mistakes in big games?

I don’t get all this Murray has to beat someone comments. Does Murray also play defense? Does he play special teams?, Does he play O-Line? This is a team game. He can do all that he can do but if another part of the team screws up then suddenly HE can’t beat anyone. Stupid.

Mullen was part of beating Dawgs while at UF. He knows what to do. He knows Richt will go to the pass EVEN WHEN THE RUNNING GAME is working. Stop the run and then tee off when we go to pass on our poor line. I don’t know what happen to them last week ( probably bored) but if we get the team that played with LSU toe to toe for 3 quarters, we are in for a fight. The difference between these two Mississippi schools is eye opening.

Murray helped put 21 points on Auburn in the first half last year. he helped score 31 but his defense gave up 49. Did he turn around and give it back up? No, the defense did. Did Murray give up 31 points to Arkansas? No, but he did help score 24? Did Murray give up 34 points to UF? No, but he did score 31 against them. The reason UGA didn’t win against ranked teams was not because of Murray. It was because of the defense.

Saw where the spineless ass Richt was telling his team they should make the first down in 3 downs, and that’s why he kicks field goals from inside the 20 on 4th and 1. Maybe if this moron would call out his pathetic O.C. and his miserable play calls inside the redzone, the team would have a chance to get a first down. Richt is the worst head coach in the SEC, and this prick needs to stop calling out his players, and he needs to stop blaming his players when the real problem has been and always will be Richt and Bobo. All this clown every does is say the players don’t execute, my God the New England Patriots couldn’s execute the pathetic plays that Bobo calls in the redzone. Enough of this pathetic head coach and his boy Bobo. If McGarity hasn’t seen enough of this soap opera to make a decision, then he is worse than Richt. 5 field goal attempts against the worst team in the SEC, this guy should have been fired after the game saturday, why give him another chance to embarrass the school in athens saturday? When will this nightmare end. Field goal U, and Richt=DISASTER!!

State this weekend, Tenn, Vandy and Au all capable of beating us. After watching Saturday, especially the 2nd half, Doesn’t look promising.

1. Every time I get down on Murray I feel much better after watching the rest of the college quarterbacks across the country. Let’s not forget that while he’s not perfect, he’s a pretty good player. However, I am awaiting his coming out party/statement win, and hopefully we’ll see that this year.
2. All of our focus should be on Miss. State. That game is all that matters this week. If we gain some momentum, allow many of these young dawgs to get some goo experience, we could end up coming a long way from the Dome. Confidence is huge for young kids. Let’s defend our home turf Saturday and worry about everything else thereafter.

dawg4ever, maybe all the clowns are the fair weathered fans who got spoiled his first seven years. You want a NC every year or other year and that sometimes not possible. Vince Dooley didn’t win one until he had been at UGA for 17 years. Richt’s career has started just like his. In the first 5 years Vince Dooley won 2 SEC titles. He didn’t win another for 8 years. I don’t know if they had as many fair weathered fans in the 60’s as they do now. You stay with a proven coach over the long haul. You don’t dump him when he has a couple of bad years. The worst thing that happened to Richt was that team in 2008. Preseason #1 that was totally destroyed by injuries and finished 10-3. Because everyone thought that we were going to win a title they started to bail on him then. All I have to say is SUCK IT UP. You can see by the young talent that this team is about to turn it around.

kerryb, I’m not on the Mullen wagon, he would be way down on the list for me. I say that because of his relationship with McGarity because of being on the Florida campus together and Mullen would look for an upgrade, and you gotta be sure he knows Richt is hearing footsteps.

When the light comes on with Crowell with all the protections and what he has to do then you are going to see something special. He is playing like this and does not even know everything he needs to do yet. The same with Malcom Mitchell.
