A few quick items . . .
Whether the game will air on ESPN, ESPN2 or ESPNU won’t be determined until after this week’s action. But in any case the 7 p.m. start at Neyland Stadium is firm, according to the SEC.
It will be UGA’s first night kickoff since the season opener against Boise State in the Georgia Dome.
Two other SEC games also are scheduled for 7 p.m. starts on Oct. 8 – Vanderbilt at Alabama and Auburn at Arkansas. Those games, plus Georgia-Tennessee, will be divvied up among the ESPN networks.
Crowell, who shared the honor with Kentucky running back Josh Clemons two weeks ago, claimed it outright this week for his performance at Ole Miss.
Crowell had season highs in carries (30) and yards (147) in Georgia’s 27-13 victory Saturday. His 30 carries were the most by a Georgia player since Knowshon Moreno’s 33 against Florida in 2007.
Averaging 102.8 yards rushing per game, Crowell ranks No. 2 in the nation among freshmen, behind only Bowling Green’s Anthon Samuel (107 yards rushing per game).
Crowell has surpassed 100 yards rushing in both of his SEC games.
Rambo had two interceptions against the Rebels, giving him four in the three games he has played this season — more picks than any Georgia player had in all of last season. Rambo leads the NCAA in interceptions per game (1.33).

Congrats to IC
I hope he keeps his head on straight. He can be really good before he is done.
Congrats to Rambo too.
Did anyone notice we ran the ball 56 times Saturday?

Clemons fumble on Saturday not withstanding, UK is tickled to have him. He should be playing now with Crowell and Samuel could be playing linebacker.

Great national recognition for both players. Things are looking up. Now, a little attention needs to be given to special teams.

If IC stays healthy we have a realistic chance at 9-3 and a slight chance at 10-2. Too many weapons to not score 30 pts per game. Anyone know what’s up with Ken Malcome?

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — Florida State cornerback and return specialist Greg Reid is in trouble again — this time with the police.
Reid was arrested at 2:30 a.m. Monday by Tallahassee police on charges of resisting arrest and perjury.

ESPN.com’s Heather Dinich writes about all things ACC in the conference blog.

The police report indicated Reid was trying to protect a friend from his hometown of Valdosta, Ga., who was being pursued for resisting arrest after being stopped earlier by police.
School officials did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
Reid didn’t play in Saturday’s 35-30 loss at Clemson and was suspended the second game of the season for violating an unspecified team rule. Reid sat out the Clemson game with a bruised right knee he suffered in the 23-13 loss to Oklahoma on Sept. 17.
The 21-year-old led the nation in punt returns two years ago as a freshman.

Crowell has 2 rushing td’s, he’s on track for 6 rush td’s, Ealey had 11 last year.
Hopefully, all the UGA backs combined will be able to match Ealey’s 11 td’s.

Brooks, the reason why Malcome is not getting any carries is because he can not get off the trainers table during practice. He has been told more than a few times that you are going to have to play with pain in the SEC. He doesn’t practice at full because he always says his leg is bothering him.

“If IC stays healthy we have a realistic chance at 9-3 and a slight chance at 10-2.”
To go 9-3 means you can not lose more than one game against Miss St, Tenn, Florida, Auburn and Tech.
You will have to play and coach much better to beat the Gators. I don’t see that happening. Thus you would have to sweep the others. I don’t see that happening either.
I think 9-3 is a “slight chance.”

Very capable back. Seems to be progressing nicely as season goes on. Tennessee game could be his coming out party. Needs a productive error free game on prime time ie., freshman receivers from Clemson and LSU. Have to get past Tennessee then only Florida seperates Georgia from coming bakc to Atlanta in my opinion.

68 rushes for 343 yards 5 ypc and 2 TD
5 receptions for 97 yards 19.4 ypr and 1 TD
110 all purpose yds per game.
Better than fumbling Crowell.

Congrats to Crowell & Rambo. Sure is fun to see a back that has heart and wants to be at UGA. I hope to see some of Buck B.’s 2 yard passes to Crowell with big Figgins leading the way. I love smash mouth football like UGA has played in the past. It would be hard for MB to screw that up. To hell with tech and GO DOGS.

Bama Mike….
South Carolina would have to lose twice and Georgia can’t lose again the the SEC…..for Georgia to go to Atlanta. Georgia will have to beat Florida in JAX…..and Florida looks very good right now with Rainey and Demps in the backfield.
P.S. Crowell is the real deal. He has the gifted, innate running skills of the great ones before him. He should have a great career at Georgia if he keeps his head on straight…and Bobo continues to feed him the ball. He should have a field day against the Vols.

I don’t know for sure about Malcome, but someone recently told me that they heard Malcome was just in the coach’s doghouse over some remarks he made on twitter. They said he remarked that he should have left when the others left before the season. If that is true then it explains why he was slow to pick up the offense. Can you say “duh”? Anyway, it might be the injury thing. Sounded to me in the preseason that his groin injury was going to be one of those that required surgery because he never seemed to get over it. I know we could sure use a good back to back up Crowell, can’t expect a freshman to get 30 carries a week through a whole SEC season.
