I-Dog, regarding that defense. The way Kellen Moore picked it apart worries me for the UT and FL games. Both those teams and QB’s have the WR’s to make that type of offense just kill us. Unless we get that fat noseguard in the backfield in a quick manner and get those LB’s popping people on those dink routes we may be doomed for both of those games.

I am still 100% behind exactly what I said about the defense all summer. BTW, I was never one of the folks talking a lot about having a bigger nose guard making such a huge difference. (or that we would gather a lot of sacks). I have always said that I figured the biggest improvement to be in the backfield, and also with assignment in general, being able to play at a faster speed. And on the whole our D-line will be significantly better collectively. I’ll reiterate right now, at the end of the year looking back, this will end up being exactly the case.

@gdawginkalamazoo,
It’s not the job of the nose guard in a 3-4 defense to get in the backfield of the opposing offense. His job is to simply occupy more than one blocker, which in turn creates a mis-match that will allow the LB to get in the backfield and to put pressure on the QB an make him make bad throws.

I get a kick out of all the Gaytor fans. Brantley is the best QB in the league and the Gaytors are the best. Who have they beat? Oh that’s right FAU who lost at Mich. St. 49-0. Basically, the same score as the UF game. And they beat UAB who’s terrible. Tenn should’ve been a better opponent; but they weren’t very good either. So, the Gaytors have mauled two high school teams and a very averager, at best, UT squad. They’ll crush Kentucky this week; and then reality will set in when Demps and Rainey are hammered by the Alabama defense next week. We’ll see how accurate and relaxed Brantley looks against Bama. UF has talent and they’re playing pretty well against lesser competition. When they beat UA and LSU, the fans can start bragging; but until then you haven’t beaten anyone yet.
My prediction: both the Dawgs and Gaytors are 5-2 going to the WLOCP with the game as a toss-up because both teams are pretty solid. It should be a great game….GO DAWGS!!!
O line woes at UGA, oh, hum

When you need 15-18 O linemen to be really solid and stacked with some quality depth and you have only around 8-12 at the start, you stand a high probability of getting beat downs as the season unfolds. RULE # 1 in the powerful SEC.
Coach Richt knows this but ever year, for years now, UGA has been in the same boat with our O line guys quitting and getting blown out shoulders, knees and such. THIS IS CMR’s fault. He IS a great recruiter? well, where are the BIG BOYS???? This is his achilles heel.
It will finally cost him this year and maybe by next Saturday, back home in Athens.
Run the table Mark or be gone. It is the way that it is.

I’d be willing to bet that if Bray jumped on a plane and switched places with Moore for the rest of the year, he would be having a lot more success, than TN would start picking teams apart anytime soon.

That would be, “Brace yourself, Maggie…”
All these delusional Bulldogs better brace themselves for a big disappointment tomorrow. Ole Miss is cornered on its home turf. With the incompetent coaching staff of Richt Bobo and Grantham the Dawgs will be running down the Mississippi to the the Gulf of Mexico.
Monday morning we will all be reading Richt’s excuse book number 89 with Altamaha, DawginFex, and all the other Richt zombies continuing the mantra in the amen corner.
Richt is a good man. Richt knows how to coach. Be careful what you ask for–who could possibly replace Richt?
Having left Georgia after college, now I see it really is deep in the Bible Belt and a lot of the stereotypes are pretty accurate…
These folks are delusional.

MarineDog, I guess I was thinking about that Bama game a couple of years ago and that Auburn game last year when the fat nose guards kept dancing all over our QB. Regardless of how it is suppose to work, Cody and Fairly were very effect fat nose guards.

Don’t think you’ve been following some of Altamaha Dawg’s or DawhinLex’s, or many other’s recent blog posts concerning their opinion of a coaching change need if the Dawgs loose to Ole Miss.

I too agree with your take on the defense. I would add though, I am a bit surprised at the secondary play. It is at a higher level than I thought we would be. I am also disappointed in the inability of the fronts penetration and pressure on the QB. Yeah, it’s only the second year I know but, Grantham’s 3-4 isn’t meeting expectations to date IMO

Per the current roster, there are 18 O-lineman on the roster, 11 listed on the depth chart.

harold, bugsquacher posts that same thing almost verbatim on every blog. The same two year analysis that skews the total body of work from CMR. LET HIM FINISH THE SEASON OUT! The only way I don’t think he should finish the season out is if we start losing to teams like Ole Miss, Vandy, UK or others in that group. Otherwise, I think the 2 SEC titles should afford him at least that much respect.

Don’t sweat it JAWje. I’ts hardly being called out when folks just fabricate something to fit their agenda. Straw man arguments are so common in here is just boring at this point.
And what do you want to bet that Irish Concept is not the only name that he regularly posts under in here? Tell you what, when one made up person is too embarrassed to let it be know that he is really his other made up persona, that’s pretty bad.
My friends, family, and quite a few folks in here know exactly who AltamahaDawg is, and I am never embarrassed if they read it, or back down in real life if they ask me a statement. Be a pretty cool forum if that were the standard, wouldnt it?
For half the folks in here, not only would they never own up to their anonymous comments in real life, but they would roll their eyes and call (thier character) an idiot.

I agree, one of two teams will demean themselves Saurday in Oxford, Mississippi! I doubt it will be the home team. Rick and Boboster will have murray running away from the pass rush and throwing who knows where; while Crowell will get maybe 8 carries and a couple of catches totaling the bulk of the dawg’s offense. Can’t figure out the genius of the dawg’s offense this year. I suppose it will become clear soon. Oh, and Crowell will score all of the dawg’s TDs. Try not to be the worst!

The Georgia Club has been sold at a $55 million loss. Not enough UGA grads with $300k to retire on, it seems. A life super-sizing those drive-thru orders don’t get you into that club.

Dawgs goning to unload the whooping can on Ole Missy today. Have no fear of OL problems when we got Ben Jones wiping out defenses. I predict that Crowell runs wild for 180 yards againts a sorry Ole Miss D. If BYU and Vandy embarrass Nutts then Dawgs got talents to mash Nutts and expose him as sorry like he is.
Final Score: Dawgs 44 – Missy’s Nutts 13
Go DAWGS!

Mason could be the missing linc to take Georgia from the bottom of the SEC East to near middle status. The real star of the future however is “Martin”, a middle school wunder kid from MILLEN in JENKINS COUNTY. This kid is lighting it up in South Georgia. Word is he’s already on Sabins screen as well as the old ball coaches in SC. Don’t let this kid slip through your fingers UGA!!
